• Forbid links to open new tabs in Google Chrome

  I'm looking for a solution to forbid links in Google Chrome to open new tabs (in most cases it is a target="_blank" issue). So, I want all links to open pages in currently active tab, not in new tab. I tried a wide range of addons (for ex. "Death to target=_blank") and greasemonkey scripts that are supposed to remove target=_blank attribute but none of them worked. It is extremally anoying when I want to switch between accounts in GMail or navigate from GMail to GDrive. I always get the new tab opened and I need to close last tab manually.

• Unable to open websites that use HTTPS on linux

  I have the following network configuration: My PC 192.168.1.20/24 uses 192.168.1.1/24 as a gateway. Dlink-2760U router with Local address 192.168.1.1/24 has a VPN connection open with the provider using PPTP. Whenever I'm trying to open some web-sites that has some authorization (e.g. gmail.com, coursera.org), I'm getting a request timeout. This problem is observed mostly on linux (Ubuntu 12.04 and Debian 6.0), while most of such websites work correctly on windows XP. Could you please help me diagnose the problem? Could it be related to NAT + HTTPS? Thanks

• Accessing to shared folders with OpenVPN

  This is my first attempt to configure a vpn so I have very little knowledge about this. Network where centos server is having local IPs 192.168.123.* Network where windows machine is having local IPs 192.168.1.* I installed and configured my openpvn server on centos 5 and client on a windows machine. Generated all keys, certificates e.t.c and transferred them to client and I'm able to connect to server. Below there is a screenshot of the client log. Also on server side I can also see incoming packets with this command tcpdump -n port 1723 So I assume I did most of the things correct. But still when I try to open shared folders using \\192.168.123.33 or \\network-name I can't access folders

• Open table cache in MySQL

  I have my open table cache set to 1800 and I have a total of 1112 tables. MySQL Tuning Primer reports that 100% of my table cache is used yet my table cache hit rate is 5%. I understand that this happens due to concurrent connections all opening tables. I think I should raise the cache limit. I understand that the cache size is limited by the file descriptor limit of my operating system, but are there any other practical limitations I should be aware of? Searching Google or this very website yields mostly posts explaining the connection-factor or come up with indecisive answers. My question: can I safely increase the open table cache limit? Is there a maximum?

• Cannot open some websites

  Hi all, I have a very specific problem. We have a wifi router at home which supports three laptops and a desktop. For the past month or so, I've been unable to open a number of websites on our HP desktop, Dell laptop and my Macbook. These include everything connected with http://wordpress.org and several others. The page simply refuses to load. I can't access some other websites as well. I've tried everything. We've rebooted the router, deleted all the cookies/download history, but nothing works. I've tried accessing these websites on IE, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. Strangely, when friends use their laptops on the same wifi connection, the websites open just fine. What do I do?   Hey Guys, Here's the challenge--I developed Softphone Screenpop PHP App that takes caller id info and searches for a match in our db, also allows us to collect call statistics. Great for our management but it's driving our reps nuts. We use firefox here and when our softphone pops to the external page, every time it opens in a new tab, the girls quickly get 5-10 open and it becomes confusing. Our softphone will also run command line. I wondering if there is a way to have a URL open in a certain tab. Otherwise does anyone have any other ideas? Thanks!

  Hi all, here is what I am looking for, I use a number of software packages when creating online learning courses. I have a huge number of courses and they use text, audio files, images and video files. I am looking for somthing that I can install on our server and upload the content, index, tag and categorise and enter a description so that when a screen print has to be changed for example I can find all the places that I used the image so that I can go in and change the image without having to check every file that I have created over the last year. An open source solution would be great or something that isn't to expensive. Thank you for any suggestions you can make.

• Restoring raid 5 array after bios flash

  I have just flashed my BIOS and now my machine does not detect my raid5 array! It has three 2TB drives in it so that is a LOT of data that will be lost! I have NOT deleted the array and it does not offer me to reboot I'm using Nvidia MediaShield! and Windows 7. Any ideas guys? Thanks! Update: here is the GUI raid configuration.   Is there a way to specify which program should open the shortcut. Take browsers for example. My default browser is Firefox. I have some important shortcuts on my desktop that don't perform well in Firefox, so I want them to open in Internet Explorer. Important ! I know there are other ways of doing this. Such as creating favorites. But I need this feature also for other files, not only internet shortcuts. I like to work with specific programs for specific files. The website is predefined in such a way that when I hoover the mouse cursor over some pictures or text, it will show the pointing hand, thus meaning it's a clickable link. I read, on adobe's documentation, the client automatically sends a "request-policy-file" xml element to the socket before allowing it to be opened, and should receive a policy file. The client sends the xml element as expected, My server receives it (on the port I want to use, port 6104) and replies on the same port with: <?xml version="1.0"?> <!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM "http://www.adobe.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd"> <cross-domain-policy> <site-control permitted-cross-domain-policies="all"/> <allow-access-from domain="*" to-ports="*"/> </cross-domain-policy> To the best of my knowledge, this should be the most permissive policy available on a socket. The flash player logs indicate a timeout looking for the socket policy file, although I know my socket returned the response immediately. What should I do ?

  Sorry for the long and yet still somehow vague title! A friend of mine has a Flash Action script running on a LAMP server that currently reads an xml config file. He's asked me if it's possible to remove the xml file, and replace it somehow with a system (lets call it an 'auto xml generator') that intercepts the request to read that file and generates an output, so it appears to all intents and purposes as if the file still exists and contains the contents that has actually been returned from our auto xml generator Hours of Googling has failed to come up with any promising leads, can anyone offer any advice? • Loading an external SWF App in a new Air window with resize functionality

  Hello everyone, i'm trying to load a local SWF Application in my Air Application via the SWFLoader class. The SWFLoader class is displayed in a new Window. Therefore, i'm trying to resize the window automatically, when the Flash Application is resizing. But here's the problem. The SWFLoader does not get any events when the loader App has been resized. The Problem seems to be the Sandbox Restrictions. I'm able to call methods in the childSandboxBridge and parentSandboxBridge Objects that i've set in the LoaderInfo of the SWFLoaders content (the loaded SWF Application). But i cannot listen to any ResizeEvents or something like that when i'm resizing the loaded App. I'm aware of the workaround with the Loader Class and the codeExecution Property, but i don't want to bypass the Air Sandbox - if possible. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance

What's more weird is that I have another Flash project in which I can access the ScrollPane as expected and I can't tell any differences between the two projects. Casting the spw.sp to ScrollPane results in null.

• Flex - How to call a webservice without crossdomain.xml file

  How can I consume a webservice that hasn't explicitely created a crossdomain.xml? I understand it's for security and to prevent cross-site scripting, but it does seem like a major limitation to the Flex framework. For example, if I want to consume a webservice, which is suppose to be language agnostic, then I can't with Flex. The webservice/server has to be specifically prepared for Flex/Flash. If it's not, then it cannot be consumed. That can't be right can it?

  hi guys, We have a swf file that we want to secure and make available only to authorized users. I embedded the file in an aspx page and that works fine, since ASP.NET handles the aspx page, I can use ASP.NET authorization features and in the web.config restrict the access to roles="AllowedUsers" for example. However smart users could still get to the file by accessing directly for example www.mysite/flash.swf. We want to make that kind of access secure. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  Hey, I got a europe map designed in flash (1 movieclip, 1 frame, really simple), which contains the map as drawing objects directly inside the scene and in addition some specific countries as clickable buttons. So far it's working fine. What I need now is to make all the other drawing objects clickable without having to edit and script each object. I'm thinking about something like this (pseudo code): foreach(obj in MovieClip) { if(obj !typeof(Button)) { obj.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, genericClickListener); } } I just don't know the syntax how to achieve that. • Preload a lot of tiny pics

  I'm thinking about how to approach the problem at hand. There's a flash movie that requires a lot of relativly small images and I'm trying to optimize the time it takes for them to be preloaded. One thing I've considered it turning on KeepAlive in Apache on the server side. That works. But my mind still wonders if there's anything else ;-) So, what other approaches I may try? Is there a way to compress all those images and then unpack on client side? I have full control on both server and client side. Can even try installing something other than Apache. Cache is not an option because it already works and it's first time loading that bothers me here.
