    i'm building a page, which will have categories that will contain a list of pages to go with them. at first all the list are hidden, and than I click on a category and the list slides down. this is the code of the script: $(document).ready(function() { $('.menu-list').hide(); $('.menu-title').click(function() { if ($(this).next().is(':not(:visible)')) { $('.menu-list:visible').slideUp(); $(this).next().slideDown(); } }); The script works, but the problem is when I'm clicking on a category in a column that has more categories than the other. than the last category is moving to the left and I don't want it to.   • Modifying html of dom element that was created after page loaded

    I have two separate AJAX calls. One that gets a list of items from a txt file and creates an HTML table out of them and one that talks to a database to find how much each item costs and then lists this in the corresponding table cell for each item (I know this may sound like a strange approach, but it's a good option in our case...). The issue is that the price is not getting written to the table since the table is created (or to be precise, the rows of the table are created) after the page loads.     Hi I have the following html: <p> <input type="text" name="field2" /> <input type="hidden" name="fieldh2"/> <button type="button" class="sendInfo">Send</button> </p> What I want is that when user clicks the button, I need to send using ajax the contents of the field field. This is what i'm trying to do with no success. $(function() { $('button.sendInfo').live('click', function() { var id = $(this).parent().next('[type=text]').val(); alert(id); }); }); I plan to set what the user types in textbox to the hidden field, and the value received from the ajax call to normal textbox. But the problem is that i can´t even get the value of the textbox that is in the same line as the button the user clicks. Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot.

    I’ve created a string… {"atts": [{"name": "wedw"}, {"type": "---"}]} I pile a bunch of these together in an array based on user input and attach them to another string to complete a JSON object that tests out as valid. So I end up with a global array called fields with a bunch of these little snippets. So how do I change the name "weds" with a new name? I know everything is checking out correct interms of the variables pos, oldname, and newname. I also know that fields[pos] returns the string in the array I want to correct but it’s not happy. I also tried converting fields[pos] to a string, but the replace function doesn't work on it. I’m sure there is a good reason.

  • Manage the scrolling of just one element in a ScrollView

    So, I have a ScrollView which has cards on it. ScrollView must be paging enabled. The goal is that the user must be able to scroll it, even if it has only one card. Since i am having the frame of ScrollView of exactly the same width and height as a picture of a card, i decided to increase the width of a ScrollView.contentSize and add one point to it. It turns out to be working fine, but it glitches a bit - when i drag the card to the left, and then grab it again it moves to right a little bit (i guess, for the value of that one point). If i increase the contentSize, the shift increases too (for example, if the content size is increased by ten, the shift value is ten points too). It really irritates me a lot and I want to get rid of it. Any advice on how to do that? Help is much appreciated. UPD: I tried to manually re-center the card in the scrollViewDidEndDecelerating but that didn't help. My guess for now is that the problem can be solved by setting the content offset to the right value (because now it's (0,0)), but I can't figure out how to do it.

    I have created a simple form to create an instance of a modle and for some reason it is not calling the create method in the controller. I am fairly new to rails but I have made other apps with similar forms, and I have never had this problem before. I can create and save Mate objects in the console, and I am not getting any errors, so it seem that somehow the controller method is not being called. Any help is much appreciated!

    hi here's my code (a bit simplified) <div id="wrapper" style="width:960px; margin:0 auto; position: relative;"> <img src="img/bg/wrapper.jpg" alt="" width="960" id="bg" style="position:absolute; top:0; left:0; z-index:0; height:100%;" /> <some more div></div> </div> here's my problem: if i give my image 100% height it works correctly in firefox/chrome (it stretches all allong its wrapper) while in explorer it inherits the page height!! causing an overheighted page. I tried with height=inherit but in firefox/chrome image doesn't stretch at all, in explorer the problem remains the same. Height=auto: the same as above in F/C + explorer doesn't stretch too.     Hey all, i have this peice of code that allows a user to select a jpg image, resize it and uploads it to the server driectory. The problem being is that it reloads the aspx page when it saves the image. My question is-is there any way to do this same thing but with ajax so that it doesn't leave the page after submitting it? I've done this pleanty of times with classic asp pages but never with a aspx page. The problem is updating them. What I have been doing so far is simply deleting all checkbox entries for the project and then re-inserting all the values into the database. This is bad because 1.   • CSS - changing the font color for a from select option in firefox

    I'm building a website for my church, and I'm teaching myself all about web design along the way. http://www.wilmingtonchurchofgod.org/contact_us.html is the link where you can see my issue. If you look at that page in firefox, and you click the select part of the form (next to, "Who would you like to contact?") you will see that when you hover over a choice, the font is white. I have tried various things to fix this, but can't find a solution. This seems to be specific to Firefox.   • Rails, Edit page update in a window

    I have my code working so that I have a table of businesses. There's a pencil icon you can click on the edit the business information. The edit information comes up in a partial inside of a modal pop up box. The only problem is that once they make the changes they want and click update, it sends them to the 'show' page for that business. What I want to happen is have the pop up box close and have it update the information. This is my update function in my controller. def update @business = Business.find(params[:id]) respond_to do |format| if @business.update_attributes(params[:business]) flash[:notice] = 'Business was successfully updated.' format.html { redirect_to(business_url(@business)) } format.js else format.html { render :action => "edit" } format.xml { render :xml => @business.errors, :status => :unprocessable_entity } end end end I tried following railscast 43 and i created an .rjs file but I couldn't get that to work at all. My update was still taking me to the show page. Any help would be appreciated.
