  • "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" error in Windows 7 (ASP.NET & Web Service)

    I have an asp.net web app which works fine in Windows XP machine in a domain. I am porting it to a Windows 7 stand alone machine. The app uses a web service which makes a call to sql server. The web server (IIS 7.5) and SQL Server are on the same stand alone machine. I enabled Windows authentication for the website and web service. The web service uses a trusted connection connection string. The web service credentials uses System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials. I noticed username, password and domainname are blank after the call! The webservice and web site use an application pool with identity "Network Service". I am getting an exception "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" in the database call in the web service. I am assuming it's related to the blank credentials. I am expecting ASPNET user to be the security token to the database. Why is this not happening? (Usually this happens when sql server and web server are on two different machines in a domain, delegation & double hopping, but in my case everything is on a dev box)

I have also created a repository class for the models and I've implemented some methods like LIST, ADD, SAVE in that class which serves the controller with data. What I want to know is without creating a custom data model class how can I return an object of anonymous type like IQueryable. And because this does not belong to any one data model how can refer to this list in the view.

    My code looks like this import java.util.Scanner; public class StudentGrades { public static void main(String[] argv) { Scanner keyboard = new Scanner(System.in); byte q1 = keyboard.nextByte() * 10; } } It gives me an error "Type mismatch: cannot convert from int to byte." Why the heck would Java store a literal operand that is small enough to fit in a byte,. into a int type? Do literals get stored in variables/registers before the ALU performs arithmatic operations.

    When I execute the following loop : unsigned m; for( m = 10; m >= 0; --m ){ printf("%d\n",m); } the loop doesn't stop at m==0, it keeps executing interminably, so I thought that reason was that an unsigned cannot be compared to 0. But when I did the following test unsigned m=9; if(m >= 0) printf("m is positive\n"); else printf("m is negative\n"); I got this result: m is positive which means that the unsigned variable m was successfully compared to 0. Why doesn't the comparison of m to 0 work in the for loop and works fine elsewhere?

  • Is type safety worth the trade-offs?

    I began coding in in Python primarily where there is no type safety, then moved to C# and Java where there is. I found that I could work a bit more quickly and with less headaches in Python, but then again, my C# and Java apps are at much higher level of complexity so I have never given Python a true stress test I suppose. The Java and C# camps make it sound like without the type safety in place, most people would be running into all sorts of horrible bugs left an right and it would be more trouble than its worth. This is not a language comparison, so please do not address issues like compiled vs interpreted. Is type safety worth the hit to speed of development and flexibilty? WHY? to the people who wanted an example of the opinion that dynamic typing is faster: "Use a dynamically typed language during development.     My understanding of a primitive datatype is that It is a datatype provided by a language implicitly (Others are user defined classes) So different languages have different sets of datatypes which are considered primitive for that particular language. Is that right? And what is the difference between a "basic datatype" and "built-in datatype". Wikipedia says a primitive datatype is either of the two. PS - Why is "string" type considered as a primitive type in SNOBOL4 and not in Java ?

  • Traverse tree with results. Maybe type in Java?

    I need to check a tree's node state. It can either be OK or NOT_OK. But that state is dependent on its children. So for a node to be OK, every of its children needs to be OK. If one or more of its children is NOT_OK the whole node is NOT_OK. To determine the state of a node I need to aggregate some properties of the node. So I thought of two possible implementations. And they are more or less covered in this question: Why is Option/Maybe considered a good idea and checked exceptions are not? Exception I could pass the properties up the recursion path, and throw an exception if something went wrong. Maybe I implement an Maybe type and let it either hold an error or the aggregated properties. Maybe it is more an Either. I tend towards the last option. And I'm thinking of an enum with two objects. Where I can additionally set those aggregated properties. Am I on the right track? I'm not familiar with the new JDK8 functional stuff. But I'm stuck on JDK7 anyway, so please focus on JDK7.

  • Is it possible to have anonymous purchases with ubercart without the creation of a new user account?

    I would like to be able to have anonymous users purchase a product but not have a new account created when they purchase it. Unfortunately the creation of a new user seems to be very tightly integrated into ubercart's ordering system. And, because the order module is part of the ubercart core, it's behavior cannot be overridden easily. One possibility for overriding is the creation of a new user account by supplying ubercart with an bogus anonymous account: hook into hook_form_alter at $form_id == 'uc_cart_checkout_review_form' because this is where ubercart first associates the $order to an uid. Add our submit function to the queue: //Find out if the user is anonymous: global $user; if ($user->uid == 0 ) { //Load a previously created anonymous user account $anonymous_user = mymodule_get_anonymous_user(); //create the order and assign our anonymous_user_id to it $order = uc_order_load($_SESSION['cart_order']); $order->uid = $anonymous_user->uid; uc_order_save($order); //Assign the global user our anonymous user uid $user->uid = $anonymous_user->uid; } But what I really need is to be able to have an anonymous purchase without being forced to create a new account, this solution does not work for me. Apart from which, using this technique will automatically login the anonymous_user into our bogus_anonymous_user account. Which is definitely something I don't want. Is there a better non-duct-tape way around the creation of a new user account for anonymous purchases in ubercart?.     I write a lot of ajax javascript code and have a little design problem which I'm not totally satisfied with. As this is a web service, accesses are always done from the same server. Thus I added apache configuration to allow all accesses from this machine. This did not work until I add an additional line in the authorization file to allow read access to user -. Apache <Limit GET PROPFIND OPTIONS REPORT> Order allow,deny Allow from # private IP address Satisfy Any </Limit> Subversion [Software:/] @soft = rw - = r # <-- This is the added line For instance, before I add this, all users were authenticated, and thus had a name. Now, some accesses are done without a user name! I found this - user name in the apache log files. But does this line equals to * = r that I absolutely do not want to enable, or does it only allows the anonymous unnamed user (that is allowed access only from the rietveld server)?

  • Mount cifs share anonymously

    I have a Windows 2003 Server sharing out a few folders as read-only to "Everyone". The server is a domain member, so I'm not able to connect to the share on computers that aren't on the domain without passing some form of credentials. I have a linux box that I want to mount the share on at startup, so I want to put the share mountpoint in fstab. I have this setup by specifying a credentials file that is only readable by root, but I would rather either not use a credentials file or specify some guest/anonymous user. Can I do that, & if so, how?

As we can see from the picture with the suggestion of all the different return data the user can get confused and choose wrong return data for some of the methods. So my question is how can i improve this. so Visual studio suggest just the belonging return data type for each method.

My block: SecRule REQUEST_HEADERS:User-Agent "perl" "phase:2,pass,msg:'Perl based user agent identified'" Do I need to set a SecDefaultAction phase:2,deny,status:403,log,auditlog before that? Then any SecRule below that follows that action right?

    We know that Microsoft IIS 7.0 offer a slew of authentication methods such as Anonymous Authentication, Form Based Authentication, Digest Authentication, etc. I read from Professional IIS 7 published by Wrox that: When we use Anonymous Authentication, the end-user does not supply credentials, effectively mak- ing an anonymous request. IIS 7.0 impersonates a fixed user account when attempting to process the request (for example, to read the file off the hard disk). So, what is the fixed user account impersonated by IIS? Where can I see it? If I don't know what this account is, how could I assign proper permissions for the clients who are authenticated as anonymous users? Thanks.

  • Can't see any entries on "File Types" tab on Windows 7's Desktop Search

    For some reason, Windows Desktop Search (included with Windows 7.0) now no longer shows any file types on the "Advanced Options" dialog box. Any ideas on how to fix this? WDS claims to be indexing...but I'm not sure what it's actually indexing right now. I should also add that when I try to add a file type, nothing shows up or is ever actually added. If I login as a different user on the same system, everything appears normally.

  • Filter file types on desktop

    I've seen videos of things like 3D desktops and used things like Stardock's fences. But are there any programs that will allow me to have a filters like on the side of my desktop which I can click to only who certain file types. So like on the right of the desktop is a list of filetypes which have files on my desktop and I can click them and it will only shows files on my desktop (not in explorer windows) of that filetype.
