• CouchDB crashes at startup when path to config file has space(s)

  I'm hoping to run CouchDB as a per-user Launch Agent on OS X. I'm using the coucdbx-core folder from the CouchDB Server.app as the base of my CouchDB deployment. I'd like each user to have their own couch instance (on a different port), necessitating separate config files for each instance. The logical place to put these files is in ~/Library/Application Support/ for each user. I can put the entire distribution in ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/coucdbx, and put the .ini at ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/local.ini. Starting couchdb as bin/couchdb -a ../local.ini (from ~/Library/Application Support/my-app/coucdbx) works great. But I'd like to save every user the ~50MB couchdbx and install the couchdbx-core in a shared location (e.g. within my app's .app bundle). • IIS7 error config and remote errors

  Certain IIS7/7.5 500.19 configuration errors only render on a browser running on the local server. This appears to happen regardless of whether I set <httpErrors errorMode="Detailed" existingResponse="PassThrough" /> in the system.webServer section of a site's web.config file (or even globally for that matter). For example, I had a developer who reported that he was just getting the generic IIS7 500 error page: This was happening even though he had the following configured in his web.config: <configuration> <system.webServer> <httpErrors errorMode="Detailed" existingResponse="PassThrough" /> </system.webServer> </configuration> If I browse to the site on the server itself I see (some sensitive info redacted): Would the reason for this be that if the web.config has errors it therefore can't be parsed. Because it can't be parsed the local <httpErrors> setting doesn't get read and thus causes IIS to revert to default settings (i.e. DetailedLocalOnly)? Update: @LazyOne - suggested setting the above config at the server level which I already tried. This resulted in just raw 500 errors:

• IIS 7.0 404 Custom Error Page and web.config

  I am having trouble with a custom 404 error page. I have a domain running a .NET proj with it's own error handling. I have a web.config running for the domain which contains: <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly"> <error statusCode="500" redirect="/Error"/> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404"/> </customErrors> On a sub dir of that domain I am ignoring all routes there by doing routes.IgnoreRoute("Assets/{*pathInfo}"); in the .NET proj and I want to put a custom 404 error page on that and any sub dir's of Assets. The sub dir contains static content like images, css, js etc etc. So in the Error Pages section of IIS I put a redirect to an absolute URL. The web.config for that dir looks like the following: <system.webServer> <httpErrors> <remove statusCode="404" subStatusCode="-1" /> <error statusCode="404" prefixLanguageFilePath="" path="http://mydomain.com/404" responseMode="Redirect" /> </httpErrors> </system.webServer> But I navigate to an unknown URL under that dir and yet I still see the default IIS 404 page. I am also seeing an alert in IIS that reads: You have configured detailed error messages to be returned for both local and remote requests. When this option is selected, custom error configuration is not used. Does this have anything to do with the customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" in the site web.config? I have tried to overwrite the customErrors in the sub dir web.config but nothing changes. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi, (On behalf of a collegue) In one of our functionality we have some date fields for inline edit where we have enabled manual input. If in rich:calendar component, we manually enter improper date or junk data it will not even call the action method. As per our requirement we need to display an error message for date validation for these kind of fields. Is there any way to track that the date entered in the calendar field is improper with this component. • Unique number generation with Java Server Faces

  I am developing an application for a medical channelling centre where multiple users reserve bookings for doctors with JSF and JPA. A sequence number is unique to the Doctor, Date and Session. I tried to get a unique sequence number from counting the previous bookings and add one, but if two requests comes at the same time, two bookings get the same number causing trouble to functionality. How can I get unique number in this case? Can I use an application wide bean to generate it? (I thought it is not practicle to get the unique number from the database sequence number as there are several doctors, sessions and daily they have to have different booking number.)

The problem is when I install the package it successfully update the web.config. I've confirmed the changes.   Hi, When I use this to write to my app.config file: Configuration config =ConfigurationManager.OpenExeConfiguration(ConfigurationUserLevel.None); config.AppSettings.Settings["Wachtwoord"].Value = "Test"; config.Save(); ConfigurationManager.RefreshSection("appSettings"); I can read it again. But when i close and restart the program, the value of "Wachtwoord" has changed again to the old value. Does anybody how I could fix this? Thanks

  Sony VAIO with Insyde H2O EFI bios will not boot into GRUB EFI The answer to this question was immensely helpful to me and my new Vaio Z3. The issue that I am having now is that after replacing bootmgfw.efi with grubx64.efi and renaming, it boots directly to grub console. I dont even get a menu where i can chose ubuntu. I tried putting a grub.cfg file next to the new bootmgfw.efi(grubx64.efi), no go? Any ideas how i can get the renamed grubx64.efi to find all the rest of the grub stuff outside of the ESP in my linux parition? Or do i have to move all grub files to /EFI/Microsoft/Boot on ESP?   I have an internet connection that is using pppoe. In my windows I do not assign an ip address for my network and I am able to connect using password and username. I installed Ubintu 13.10 today, and I did pppoeconf, and I setup an ip/network mask and changed the mac address in the options, and I was able to connect to the Internet. I restarted the computer, and I got a message saying that the wired connection is not managed. Internet was not working. I went to network manager file, and I changed the option to true, but I still can't connect to the Internet. I am pretty new to linux. How can I get my Internet working? Thanks

• User not found for cn=config in OpenLDAP?

  We're running OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 10.04. I'm able to access and use the front end with cn=admin,dc=ourcompany,dc=com and my password. But I'm unable to change the server's configuration (like loglevel) stored in cn=config because I don't seem to have a valid user/password for the backend? • Issue with Reporting Services - rsreportserver.config is denied

  Error message is 'd:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportServer\RSReportServer.config' is denied.' I open SSRS configuration and I do see the service as started and running. I gave Network Services the necessary permissions in the reportserver folder and config file. SQL Server and SSRS are using LocalSystem as the 'Log On As' in Sql server configuration manager. Most of my sites I googled seem only relevant when it's Network Service running. I changed it to log on as NT Autority\NetworkService but still had the same issue. In SSRS Config Manager, I see that Web Service Identity is not configured (red), though it is showing as readonly domain\aspnet. Windows Server 2003 R2 and SSRS 2005

  i'm still very new to using URL rewrites and redirects and i'm having some problems on something i thought was quite simple... i've just rebuilt a website and want to redirect the old URLs to the new ones... for example : http://www.mydomain.com/about.asp?lang=1 should now be http://www.mydomain.com/content.asp?id=100230&title=about&langid=1 unfortunately, everything i've tried is giving me errors or simply does nothing. here is one rule i tried : <rule name="redirectoldabout" enabled="true" stopProcessing="true"> <match url="( .*)" negate="true" /> <conditions> <add input="{HTTP_HOST}" pattern="^mydomain\.com/about\.asp\?lang=1$" /> </conditions> <action type="Redirect" url="http://www.mydomain.com/content.asp?id=100230&title=about&langid=1" redirectType="Permanent" /> but i get an error back : HTTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid. any suggestions as to what i'm doing wrong? thanks dog

• esxi 5.1 - copy paste host config doesn't work?

  I followed these instructions for esxi 5.1 to enable copy paste from the host config. (search for "To enable this option for all the virtual machines in the ESX/ESXi host:") http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1026437 But copy and paste doesn't work for new VMs or existing VMs. Did I do something wrong somewhere? I've rebooted VMs and even rebooted host. I can confirm that if I do a per VM configuration, it works. Just not a central host config. Here is a screenshot of my /etc/vmware/config file

• How can i enable my bluetooth and set-up its adapter config in my Ideapad S100

  I installed Ubuntu 12.04 in my Ideapad S100 it look seem perfect after I installed it, but when i tried to connect my phone via bluetooth, i cannot enable the slide button in the Bluetooth setting and it keeps returning back to "OFF" and the visible button is also in Disable mode. I already tried other solution like installing Blueman, re-write code such as rfkill bluetooth and this echo disable /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth. It still doesn't work at all, and regarding to my Wi-Fi i don't have any issue on it.
