  In LaTeX, with \displaystyle , if I do something like: \sum_{i=0} then the i=0 appears under a giant Sigma. This is good. Now, if I do (also in \displaystyle) \nabla_{x} the x does not appear under the nabla. It appears to the lower right. How can I make it appear under the nabla instead?

  I have the following code, which I want to load values on a selection change, and also do the selection load initially (since FF 'saves' the last value of the drop down under certain circumstances). The select part of the function works correctly, but for some reason when calling load2 directly the value of $('#select1').value is undefined, even though when I check the DOM in Firebug right after load select1.value has a value. • How to get the "#" symbol in the :id into the redirect_to method in Rails

  Hello, this is a silly questions but I don't understand, why rails isn't evaluating my string as expected. Here is my problem: I want to redirect to an url in the form ~/:controller/index/#_76 redirect_to :action => "index", :id => '#_76' But I'm getting the url in the form: ~/:controller/index/%25_76 and so my anchor for linking to a certain place in the website isn't working. Can someone please explain me, why rails makes this rendering? I think this hase something to do with url encoding. Again thanks for your help, I'm learning every day a little bit more about rails :).

  hi guys i'm trying to make a static library from a class but when trying to use it i always get errors with undefined references on anything. the way i proceeded was creating the object file like g++ -c myClass.cpp -o myClass.o and then packing it with ar rcs myClass.lib myClass.o there is something i'm obviously missing generaly with this.. i bet it's something with symbols.. thx for any advices, i know it's most probably something i could find out if reading some tutorial so sorry if bothering with stupid stuff again :) edit: myClass.h: class myClass{ public: myClass(); void function(); }; myClass.cpp: #include "myClass.h" myClass::myClass(){} void myClass::function(){} program using the class: #include "myClass.h" int main(){ myClass mc; mc.function(); return 0; } finally i compile it like this: g++ -o main.exe -L. -l myClass main.cpp

  So I have a piece of code which parses and validates user input: DateTime myDateTime = DateTime.Parse(userInput,currentCulture); Current culture is being set (to en-ca or en-fr) and the user Input is always in ISO 8601 format "yyyy-MM-dd". If the user enters 1900-01-01 the date is created as expected. If the input is "1900-01+01" the date time created is 1899-12-31 6:00:00 PM No exception is thrown, the DateTime.Parse happily converts this to the wrong date. To make this work I am using DateTime.ParseExact(userInput,"yyyy-MM-dd",currentCulture). So my question is: whats up with the +01 or any + value? Am I missing something in ISO standard?

• __doPostBack is undefined on DotNetNuke website for IE 10

  I have a DotNetNuke site, and today a customer called in and said it wasn't working on IE 10. Specifically the login and register links weren't working, but they do in compatibility mode. I took a look on our test windows 8 machine and saw that it was failing because __doPostBack was undefined. I've been searching for a fix for the last 6ish hours, and what I've been able to find is that apparently the IE10 user agent is covered in the ie.browser file and that I should install this hotfix and reboot the server. That didn't work. I haven't noticed any changes, even though I think the new ie.browser file should match the new user agent. What other steps can I take to fix the problem? Note: the server is running .NET 3.5 with service pack 1 on Windows server 2003. The site is running DotNetNuke 05.06.02. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

• Eclipse call hierarchy skips calls in undefined #ifdef regions

  Hi all, The "call hierarchy" and "declaration" features in Eclipse CDT omit results that exist in undefined (greyed out) #ifdef regions. Example: void blah(void) { #ifndef ABC foo(); #else //line is greyed out bar(); //line is greyed out #endif //line is greyed out } The call hierarchy for foo() will list blah() as a caller; the call hierarchy for bar() will not list blah(). I'm not expecting it to do full resolution of which #define blocks will get compiled, I simply would like it to return all calls/declarations of the function I'm searching for, regardless of the #define blocks that surround it. Other IDEs such as SlickEdit are able to do this. Does anyone know of a way to get Eclipse to adopt this behavior? Thanks.

  After adding "RelayCommand" class (that uses CommandManager class) into my Silverlight App I've got an error: The name 'CommandManager' does not exist in the current context This class is a member of System.Windows.Input namespace that is in PresentationCore.dll assembly. The problem is that I can't add this dll into my app... I am having a strange assumption: this class (CommmandManager) can't be used in the Silverlight. Am I right?   I'm trying to use Poco C++ library to do the simple http requests in C++ on Mac OS X 10.8.2. The parameter :id is coming from my url path (i.e. we're looking for customer #3 in the above path). @customer should find that array easily, then @customer.name should produce the name, but apparently @customer is blank. Why? I assume the problem is that I'm not producing an array in my controller?

  I am using OpenMPI library to write a program to run on Windows 7. I compile and build with C Free 4.0, Mingw. Compiling is Ok but when the compiler links object, errors "undefined reference to ..." occurs. I have set the environment already: I added OpenMPI lib, include and bin folder into C Free Build Directories. I added them into Windows environment variables too. But the error still occurs.   I have installed WAMP. I am using Tomcat 6 to run my PHP scripts. I am also using JavaBridge.war and I have copied my php scripts into \webapp\JavaBridge\project. I have removed the semicolon from php.ini file before the statements extension=php_mysqli.dll extension=php_mysql.dll I have added C:\wamp\bin into my PATH env variable. I have copied all dll's from C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.0\ext into C:\windows\system32 I am still getting this error. Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_connect() in C:\Program Files\apache-tomcat-6.0.26\webapps\JavaBridge\project\pf_query.php on line 534 Note - I dont get this error when I run my PHP script from Apache 2.2.11 of the WAMP package.

  I'm trying to implement word boundaries in my emoticons feature for a chat. But for some reason I can't seem to get the word boundaries to work. I am new to regex. So when I do: var reg = /\b\Hi\b/gi; var str = 'HiHiHi Hi HiHiHi Hi'; alert(str.replace(reg, '')); This happens: Jsfiddle It actually works fine, and does remove those 2 Hi's that are standing alone. But when I change the reg to an escaped smiley and then change the string: var reg = /\b\:\)\b/gi; var str = 'HiHi:) :) HiHiHi :)'; alert(str.replace(reg, '')); This happens: Jsfiddle It just doesn't work. The string stays the same. Is it that word boundaries can't be used on symbols? If so, how does Facebook do it on their chats?
