  • Adding UIComponent to both Canvas and Tree in Flex 3

    How to change just the layout (template) of the CreateUserWizard control programmatically? I would to define another layout (not using the horrid table) but continue to use all the event handling and the creation of the user of the CreateUserWizard control. Just for reference, the following code doesn't work, and produces an unexpected result not representing my Template at all.   • How to ignore viewstate of a previous request for particular control?

    I am dynamically generating controls, and sometimes I want to create a control and have it ignore the viewstate. For example, sometimes the user has clicked a button indicating they want a different form loaded, so the control tree I generate on postback is different from the original control tree. This is fine, except when I call Controls.Add then it tries to load the viewstate form the old controls into the new controls if the control tree structure is similar, and I want them to instead ignore that viewstate(and also ignore the postback values for input controls as well). Can I do something like set the IDs of the controls or something that would allow me to conditionally prevent them from getting the viewstate/postback data of the previous request?

  • I created a custom (WPF) DataGridBoundColumn and get unexpected behaviour, what am I missing?

    Hi, I am using a DataGrid (from Microsoft.Windows.Controls.DataGrid) to display items on and on this DataGrid I use a custom Column which extends DataGridBoundColumn. I have bound an ObservableCollection to the ItemSource of the DataGrid. Conversation is one of my own custom datatypes which a (among other things) has a boolean called active. I bound this boolean to the DataGrid as follows: DataGridActiveImageColumn test = new DataGridActiveImageColumn(); test.Header = "Active"; Binding binding1 = new Binding("Active"); test.Binding = binding1; ConversationsDataGrid.Columns.Add(test); My custom DataGridBoundColumn DataGridActiveImageColumn overrides the GenerateElement method to let it return an Image depending on whether the conversation it is called for is active or not. However: When there are more entries on the DataGrid then fit at any one time (and vertical scrollbars are added) the behavior with respect to the column for all the conversations is strange. The conversations that are initially loaded are correct, but when I use the scrollbar of the DataGrid conversations that enter the view seems to have a random status (although more inactive than active ones, which corresponds to the actual ratio). When I scroll back up, the active images of the Conversations initially shown (before scrolling) are not correct anymore as well. When I replace my custom DataGridBoundColumn class with (for instance) DataGridCheckBoxColumn it works as intended so my extension of the DataGridBoundColumn class must be incomplete. Personally I think it has something to do with the following: From the MSDN page on the GenerateElement method (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.datagridcolumn.generateelement%28VS.95%29.aspx): Return Value Type: System.Windows. FrameworkElement A new, read-only element that is bound to the column's Binding property value. I do return a new element (the image) but it is not bound to anything. I am not quite sure what I should do. Should I bind the Image to something? To what exactly? And why? (I have been experimenting, but was unsuccessful thus far, hence this post) Thanks in advance.

Now I would actually like to add you know some controls to these tabs like textboxes(text edit). How do I do this? I go to my mail.xml using eclipse as my ide and go to layout view and I now get a NullPointerException so I can't even drag stuff onto the layout anymore.   • How to avoid visual artifacts when hosting WPF user controls within a WinForms MDI app?

    When hosting WPF user controls within a WinForms MDI app there is a drawing issue when you have multiple forms that overlap each other that causes very distinct visual artifacts. These artifacts are mostly visible after dragging one child form over another one that also hosts WPF content or by allowing the edges of the child form to be clipped by the main MDI parent when dragging it around. After the drag and drop of the child form is completed the artifacts stay around gernally but I've found that setting focus to a different application's window and then refocusing back on to my application window that it is redrawn and all is good again until the child forms are moved once again. Please see the image below which demonstrates the problem. Since many at Microsoft insist that the WinForms MDI is already a complete solution for MDI even when dealing with WPF I find it hard to believe any of them have ever actually tried creating a mostly WPF app that utilizes WinForms MDI otherwise it would be hard to recommend while keeping a straignt face. I'm hoping to either come up with proof that this solution truly is not acceptable or possibly find a way to overcome this and a few other specific issues.

    I have got an error while trying to upgrade our large project to SL4. I didn't write the original theme and my theme knowlege isn't great. In my demo app I have a Label and a LabelHeader(which i have created and is just a derived class from Label with DefaultStyleKey = typeof(LabelHeader); I am styling lthem like this: <Style TargetType="themeControls:LabelHeader"> <Setter Property="Template"> <Setter.Value> <ControlTemplate> <DataInput:Label FontSize="{TemplateBinding FontSize}" FontFamily="{TemplateBinding FontFamily}" Foreground="{TemplateBinding Foreground}" Content="{TemplateBinding Content}"/> </ControlTemplate> </Setter.Value> </Setter> <Setter Property="FontFamily" Value="Tahoma"/> <Setter Property="FontSize" Value="20"/> <Setter Property="Foreground" Value="Red"/> </Style> This works in SL3 but in SL4 I get: Error: Unhandled Error in Silverlight Application Code: 2500 Category: ParserError Message: The property 'Content' was not found in type 'System.Windows.Controls.Control'.   • How do I get the inserted id (or object) after an insert with the FormView/ObjectDataSource controls

    I have a series of classes that loosely fit the following pattern: public class CustomerInfo { public int Id {get; set;} public string Name {get; set;} } public class CustomerTable { public bool Insert(CustomerInfo info) { /*...*/ } public bool Update(CustomerInfo info) { /*...*/ } public CustomerInfo Get(int id) { /*...*/ } /*...*/ } After a successful insert the Insert method will set the Id property of the CustomerInfo object that was passed in. I've used these classes in several places and would prefer to altering them. Now I'm experimenting with writing an ASP.NET page for inserting and updating the records. I'm currently using the ObjectDataSource and FormView controls: <asp:ObjectDataSource TypeName="CustomerTable" DataObjectTypeName="CustomerInfo" InsertMethod="Insert" UpdateMethod="Update" SelectMethod="Get" /> I can successfully Insert and Update records. I would like to switch the FormView's mode from Insert to Edit after a successful insert. My first attempt was to switch the mode in the ItemInserted event. This of course did not work. I was using a QueryStringParameter for the id which of course wan't set when inserting. So, I switched to manually populating the InputParameters during the ObjectDataSource's Selecting event. The problem with this is I need to know the id of the newly inserted record which I can't find a good way to get. I understand that I can access the Insert method's return value, and out parameters in the ItemInserted event of course my method doesn't return the id using any of these methods. I can't find anyway to access the id or the CustomerInfo object that was inserted after the insert completes. The best I've been able to do is to save the CustomerInfo object in the ObjectDataSource's Inserting event. This feels like an odd way to do this. I figure that there must be a better way to do this and I'll kick myself when I see it. Any ideas?

  • How do I get ASP.NET login status controls to display a Log In option?

    I have the following log in status controls on the top of my master page. It displays the logged in as, manager log in, and Log out options. However, when a user is not logged in, there is nothing displayed there. When the user is NOT logged in, is there a way to display a "Login" text link that takes you to the log in page and then "disappears" once the user is logged in? Any help is appreciated. How it can be done for Microsofts tab?

    Hi, I hope I am able to illustrate the problem using a lot of images. First of all, I was no real fan of XAML (Silverlight issues, crashes in Preview, and so on...) Now, with VS2010 the situation has become better. There are still a lot of things I like better in code, but I also want a preview in my VS. So, take a look at the following control: It is really simple, a todo details list. The first screenshot shows the code of the control, pretty straighforward: There is no XAML, so obviously no preview. Of course, I could encapsulate it in another control, like shown in the next screenshot: But, in that case I have an additional file I do not want or need. So I had the idea to move the init stuff inside the contructor of a XAML control. For simplicity, I used simple elements. But they do not show up in the preview... Finally, I know I could use the controls in other parts of my app when creating UIs. But I am using layout manager, PRISM and a lot of other stuff, so I just want an easy preview of some specific control I created (without having to have a XAML wrapper file for each control) Thanks for help, and sorry for the post structure, but I though with images it is better to understand... Currently, the log rotation/moving/compressions is done either via custom bash scripts and scheduled via Cron, or in the application's code itself.     I'm curious with a question I find. An Windows Active Directory user can change his own telephone number, street address etc, but can NOT change his own email-address registered on the AD. Using Python+pywin32 I can also verify this behavior. When trying to change own EmailAddress, I got error General access denied error . I'd like to know where in the AD this allow/deny behavior is defined. Thank you.

  • Why can't I use SSL certs imported via Server Admin in a custom Apache install?

    I've got a couple of Mac OS X 10.6.8 Server web servers that run a custom AMP255 (Apache 2.x, MySQL 5.x, and PHP 5.x) stack installed using MacPorts. We've got a lot of Mac OS X Server servers and generally install SSL certs via Server Admin and they "just work" in the built-in services, however, these web servers have always had SSL certs installed in a non-standard location and used only for Apache. Long story short, we're trying to standardize this part of our administration and install certs via Server Admin, but have run into the following issue: when the certs are installed via Server Admin and referenced in our Apache conf files, Apache then prompts for a password upon trying to start. It does not seem to be any password we know, certainly not the admin or keychain passwords! We've added the _www user to the certusers (mainly just to ensure they have the proper access to the private key in /etc/certificates/). So, with the custom installed certs we have the following files (basically just pasted in from the company we purchase our certs from): -rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 1395 Apr 10 11:22 *.domain.tld.ca -rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 1656 Apr 10 11:21 *.domain.tld.cert -rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 1680 Apr 10 11:22 *.domain.tld.key And the following in the VirtualHost in /opt/local/apache2/conf/extra/httpd-ssl.conf: SSLCertificateFile /path/to/certs/*.domain.tld.cert SSLCertificateKeyFile /path/to/certs/*.domain.tld.key SSLCACertificateFile /path/to/certs/*.domain.tld.ca This setup functions normally. If we use the certs installed via Server Admin, which both Server Admin & Keychain Assistant show as valid, they're installed in /etc/certificates/ as follows: -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 1655 Apr 9 13:44 *.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.cert.pem -rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 4266 Apr 9 13:44 *.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.chain.pem -rw-r----- 1 root certusers 3406 Apr 9 13:44 *.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.concat.pem -rw-r----- 1 root certusers 1751 Apr 9 13:44 *.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem And if we replace the aforementioned lines in our httpd-ssl.conf with the following: SSLCertificateFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.cert.pem SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem SSLCertificateChainFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.chain.pem This prompts for the unknown password. I have also tried httpd-ssl.conf configured as follows: SSLCertificateFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.cert.pem SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem SSLCertificateChainFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.concat.pem And as: SSLCertificateFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.cert.pem SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem SSLCACertificateFile /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.chain.pem We've verified that the certificate is configured to allow all applications access it (in Keychain Assistant). A diff of the /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem & *.domain.tld.key files shows the former is encrypted and the latter is not, so we're assuming that Server Admin/Keychain Assistant is encrypting them for some reason. I know I can create an unencrypted key file as follows: sudo openssl rsa -in /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.pem -out /etc/certificates/*.domain.tld.SOMELONGHASH.key.no_password.pem But, I can't do that without entering the password. I thought maybe I could export an unencrypted copy of the key from Keychain Admin, but I'm not seeing such an option (not to mention that the .pem options are greyed out in all export options). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    I have recreated a new email user on a Windows SBS 2003 Active Directory via Advanced Management. I need to enable Outlook Office access on the user's PC but Microsoft Outlook Office does not show in the Add Programs\Set Program Access\Custom section. There are tools that allow you to hide the icon for Set program access but I need to add content, specifically Outlook Office. Outlook Express is enabled but I don't need it.

    How do I pick a custom font using Lyx? All I see are options to pick Roman/Serif/Typewriter and then a few preset faces, but I have hundreds of fonts on my system and want to be able to use them! Don't make me resort to Microsoft Word! Thanks!
