  • Out of nowhere, ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host

    - by disusered
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 on a remote box. I ssh to it everyday without issues but today out of the blue, I get the following error: ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host If I connect with -vv, I get the following: OpenSSH_5.6p1, OpenSSL 0.9.8r 8 Feb 2011 debug1: Reading configuration data /Users/bla/.ssh/config debug1: Applying options for ubuntu-server debug1: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh_config debug1: Applying options for * debug2: ssh_connect: needpriv 0 debug1: Connecting to ubuntu-server.com [123.123.123.123] port 22. debug1: Connection established. debug2: key_type_from_name: unknown key type '-----BEGIN' debug2: key_type_from_name: unknown key type '-----END' debug1: identity file /Users/bla/.ssh/id_rsa type -1 debug1: identity file /Users/bla/.ssh/id_rsa-cert type -1 ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host If I remove the key, I get the exact same output (sans "debug2: key_type_...). I've managed to log in physically and checked my hosts.allow and hosts.deny but they have no entries. I tried removing and reinstalling OpenSSH, checked authorized_keys and ~/.ssh permissions and tried connecting from other computers only to get the same error. I'm at my wits end, any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • "Othello" game needs some clarification

    - by pappu
I am trying to see if my understanding of "othello" fame is correct or not. According to the rules, we flip the dark/light sides if we get some sequence like X000X = XXXXX. The question I have is if in the process of flipping 0-X or X- 0, do we also need to consider the rows/columns/diagonals of newly flipped elements? e.g. consider board state as shown in above image(New element X is placed @ 2,3) When we update board, we mark elements from 2,3 to 6,3 as Xs but in this process elements like horizontal 4,3 to 4,5 and diagonal 2,3 to 4,5 are also eligible for update? so do we update those elements as well? or just the elements which have starting as 2,3 (i.e update rows/column/diagonal whose starting point is the element we are dealing with, in our case 2,3?) Please help me understand it

  • MS Excel: Can I link images using a relative path?

    - by Port Islander 2009
I am working on an MS Excel document that contains a lot of (around 200) images. They are currently saved within the document, so the file becomes huge and working gets very slow. Linking the pictures without saving them works very well - I now have the Excel document and a folder "pictures" next to it that contains all my image files. However, when I move the document and the folder to a new location, all my pictures disappear. This seems to be because Excel saves the link information as absolute paths. (Update: Actually, according to this thread, Excel stores the link information as relative paths as well. Now I really don't know why my links break down..) Is there a convenient way to save them as relative paths or have Excel automatically update the path information? Update: It's important that the images get displayed on the sheet and can be printed. I am working with Microsoft Excel for Mac 2008 and 2011. I really appreciate your help.

  • Is there any difference between "foo is None" and "foo == None"?

    - by Joe Shaw
Is there any difference between: if foo is None: pass and if foo == None: pass The convention that I've seen in most Python code (and the code I myself write) is the former, but I recently came across code which uses the latter. None is an instance (and the only instance, IIRC) of NoneType, so it shouldn't matter, right? Are there any circumstances in which it might?

  • Decorator that can take both init args and call args?

    - by digitala
Is it possible to create a decorator which can be __init__'d with a set of arguments, then later have methods called with other arguments? For instance: from foo import MyDecorator bar = MyDecorator(debug=True) @bar.myfunc(a=100) def spam(): pass @bar.myotherfunc(x=False) def eggs(): pass If this is possible, can you provide a working example?

  • Starting Game dev on iPhone:iPad - learning path ??

    - by Tibi
Hi there, I'm beginning in iPhone/iPad game dev and I'm searching to set up my learning path. The basic features I would like to learn (after the basic SDK iphone components programming) are : using a board like interface where I can move pawn with my fingers detect where the pawn was moved and triggers events in the game The board will be constitute by 6 tiles that may be organised randomly when starting the game : may i use an sdk component with a delegate and datasource to determine where the pawn was left and on which tile ? need to use dices (which kind of library may I use ?) ... Do you have any idea about where to start ? ;-) Many thanks, Tib.

  • Hard drive partition size wrong. How do I resize without loss of data?

    - by BreezyChick89
$ fsck fsck from util-linux 2.20.1 e2fsck 1.42 (29-Nov-2011) The filesystem size (according to the superblock) is 610471680 blocks The physical size of the device is 536870911 blocks Either the superblock or the partition table is likely to be corrupt! It should be 1 partition but it now shows 2.2tb partitioned and .3tb unpartitioned How do I make the first partition correctly be 2.5tb without destroying whatever is in either partition? I did not raid or anything. My devices have been getting repeatedly corrupt by thunderstorms. Looks like people recommend doing something like in other places. sudo resize2fs /dev/sdc1 610471680

  • Does Windows 8 include the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe)?

    - by amiregelz
In 2011, Symantec reported on the use of the Windows Help File (.hlp) extension as an attack vector in targeted attacks. The functionality of the help file permits a call to the Windows API which, in turn, permits shell code execution and the installation of malicious payload files. This functionality is not an exploit, but there by design. Here's the malicious WinHelp files (Bloodhound.HLP.1 & Bloodhound.HLP.2) detection heat map: I would like to know if the Windows Help program exists on my Windows 8 machine by default, because if it does I might need to remove it for security reasons. Does Windows 8 include the Windows Help program (WinHlp32.exe)?

  • Request exceeded the limit of 10

    - by Webnet
My logs are FULL of [Tue Jan 11 10:20:45 2011] [error] [client 99.162.115.123] Request exceeded the limit of 10 internal redirects due to probable configuration error. Use 'LimitInternalRecursion' to increase the limit if necessary. Use 'LogLevel debug' to get a backtrace., referer: https://www.domain.com/vehicles/Chevrolet/Uplander/2006 The problem is when I enable LogLevel debug we get HUGE error logs because all of our traffic is SSL. From what I can tell the file doesn't record these errors anymore, either that or it's so buried in SSL logs that I just can't find them. Here's my .htaccess Options -indexes RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^battery/([^/]+)$ /browser/product?sku=BATTERY+$1&type=battery RewriteRule ^vehicles/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/product([0-9]+)$ /browser/index.php?make=$1&model=$2&id=$3&%{QUERY_STRING} [L,NC] RewriteRule ^vehicles/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([0-9]+)$ /browser/product.php?make=$1&model=$2&year=$3&id=$4&%{QUERY_STRING} [L,NC] RewriteRule ^vehicles/([^/]+)/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ /store/product/list.php?make=$1&model=$2&year=$3&%{QUERY_STRING} [L,NC] RewriteRule ^vehicles/([^/]+)/([^/]+)$ /vehicle/make/model/year/list.php?make=$1&model=$2&%{QUERY_STRING} [L,NC] RewriteRule ^vehicles/([^/]+)$ /vehicle/make/model/list.php?make=$1&%{QUERY_STRING} [L,NC]

  • Is there a better way to format this Python/Django code as valid PEP8?

    - by Ryan Detzel
I have code written both ways and I see flaws in both of them. Is there another way to write this or is one approach more "correct" than the other? def functionOne(subscriber): try: results = MyModelObject.objects.filter( project__id=1, status=MyModelObject.STATUS.accepted, subscriber=subscriber).values_list( 'project_id', flat=True).order_by('-created_on') except: pass def functionOne(subscriber): try: results = MyModelObject.objects.filter( project__id=1, status=MyModelObject.STATUS.accepted, subscriber=subscriber) results = results.values_list('project_id', flat=True) results = results.order_by('-created_on') except: pass

  • Move email off Small Business Server to Google Apps, retain other SBS functions?

    - by Paul S.
Recently, an in-house Microsoft Small Business Server 2011 was installed where I work. Unfortunately, our buildings have a bad electrical power supply and we suffer frequent outages. We have a large percentage of staff working off-site. Now when the power goes off here, everyone everywhere loses email functionality. I have been assigned to research the possibility of routing our email to Google Apps while maintaining LAN functions on the SBS. I haven't worked with Microsoft products for several years now, so do not know how SBS is structured. Can anyone here tell me if this is possible, or point me to good resources that explain our options?

  • OS X Leopard (10.5) Server -- Unwanted Emails

    - by David
Our OS X Leopard (10.5) server is sending out an email EVERY DAY for a Disk Full Notification on an external HDD we use for Time Machine backups (which manages it's own disk space, so the disk full notifications are useless). In the Server Admin app, under Settings Notifications, there's this: which is clearly disabled. The email header and message: http://pastebin.com/V5PZ3Phk I've been told to check the mail.log, but it's mostly empty (except for a few logs in 2011 saying "Postfix mail system is not running". I've also been told to check the crontabs, but I'm not sure how to do that on OS X (or any OS for that matter). Can someone explain how to do this? Also, if there's any other suggestions on places/things/etc to look at/for, my ears are all open!

  • call_user_function_array() and __construct

    - by John
I'm working on a simple framework, and I'm having a slight problem. I'd like to use call_user_function_array() to pass parameters to a function. That's fine, except the function I want to pass it to is __construct. I can't create an instance of an object with cufa(), and by instantiating an object, and then using cufa to call that instance's __construct(), I run into problems with a broken class because I'm calling the constructor twice (and one time it's called wrong.)

[AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] public ActionResult Create(int x, int y, IEnumerable<int> zKeys) { //Do stuff here } How can I setup my form to pass data in this way? If data of this particular form can't be provided, what's the next best way to pass this type of information in ASP.NET MVC?

Hi, Is there a way to get the length of a collection from this? ParallelQuery<string> Lines = File.ReadAllLines("Topics.txt").AsParallel<string>(); This has no length property. There is a count method but it takes a Func. If I don't pass a Func paremeter, I could get all the properties in the collection, but how could I not pass one in? Thanks

  • Can anyone recommend a Windows 7 Slate that supports inking for OneNote?

    - by Click Ahead
Hi All, I've been looking for a Windows 7 Slate for many months now that supports inking so I can use Microsoft OneNote. The slate is going to be used specifically to replace my notepad in meetings and I would like to be able to read and ink Word Documents, Excel spreadsheets, and use OneNote as my note taking application. I will also be doing the odd powerpoint presentation on it. I would like a 10" screen and very important is the ability to use a stylus with a fine tip (like a pen). I have been using the HP TC1100 with Windows XP tablet for a few years and even though it's served me well it's time to change. I've seen a few new tablets announced as CES 2011 but they all seem to be capacitive touch (movement with fingers). I'd like something I can use a stylus with a fine tip (like a pen). Any one got any idea on what's out there or what's due in the next month or two?

  • How does Office 2008 for Mac store its Recent items?

    - by zenopolis
I don't have access to Office 2008, but require the information for a project I'm working on. I'm mainly interested in Word, Excel and Powerpoint. This is the information I have gathered so far... The preference file is: ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.office.plist The property keys take the form: 2008\File Aliases\{APP}{n} 2008\MRU Access Date\{APP}{n} where {APP} represents an Office application, and {n} represents a number starting from 0. The applications are represented by the following values: MSWD (Word) XCEL (Excel) What value represents PowerPoint? In the property list I've seen, the numbers represented by {n} range from 0-10 (11 items). Is 10 the limit? or is this unrestrained? Finally, I've noticed that Office 2011 does not add its Recent Items to the Apple System menu: Apple > Recent Items Is Office 2008 the same?

  • List files recursively and sort by modification time

    - by Problemaniac
How do I list all files under a directory recursively and sort the output by modification time? I normally use ls -lhtc but it doesn't find all files recursively. I am using Linux and Mac. ls -l on Mac OS X can give -rw-r--r-- 1 fsr user 1928 Mar 1 2011 foo.c -rwx------ 1 fsr user 3509 Feb 25 14:34 bar.c where the date part isn't consistent or aligned, so a solution have to take this into account. Partial solution stat -f "%m%t%Sm %N" ./* | sort -rn | head -3 | cut -f2- works, but not recursively.
