  • Java Split not working as expected

    - by daaabears
I am trying to use a simple split to break up the following string: 00-00000 My expression is: ^([0-9][0-9])(-)([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9]) And my usage is: String s = "00-00000"; String pattern = "^([0-9][0-9])(-)([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])([0-9])"; String[] parts = s.split(pattern); If I play around with the Pattern and Matcher classes I can see that my pattern does match and the matcher tells me my groupCount is 7 which is correct. But when I try and split them I have no luck.

  • Basic Python While loop compound conditional evaluation

    - by dbjohn
In Python IDLE Shell it seems I cannot use a compound conditional expression and a while loop. I tried it within brackets too. k=0 m=0 while k<10 & m<10: print k k +=1 m+=1 If I write while k<10: print k k+=1 This does work. Is there a way I could achieve the first block of code with the "and" operator. I have done it in Java. Do I just need to put together "if" statements to achieve the same functionality in Python?

  • Safely dereferencing FirstOrDefault call in Linq c#

    - by samy
For brevity's sake in my code, i'd like to be able to do the following: having a collection, find the first element matching a lambda expression; if it exists, return the value of a property or function. If it doesn't exist, return null. var stuff = {"I", "am", "many", "strings", "obviously"}; var UpperValueOfAString = stuff.FirstOrDefault(s => s.contains("bvi")).ToUpper(); // would return "OBVIOUSLY" var UpperValueOfAStringWannabe = stuff.FirstOrDefault(s => s.contains("unknown token")).ToUpper(); // would return null Is it possible with some linq-syntax-fu or do i have to check explicitly for the return value before proceeding?

  • Using Where method in Linq 2 Entities with OR clause.

    - by Dani
I want to use Where method in Linq 2 entities that will be equal to this userRepository.Users.Where(u=>u.RoleID == 1 || u=>u.RoldID == 2).Select(o => new SelectListItem { Text = o.Role.RoleName, Value = o.RoleID.ToString() }).ToList(); The problem of course is in Where(u=u.RoleID == 1 || u=u.RoldID == 2) The problem is that I don't know how to use WHERE method with OR inside the WHERE clause. any ideas (the code above will not compile of-course b/c of the lambda expression. userRepository.Users returns an list of Users entities. I guess that and can be done using concatenation of .Where().Where() but I need an OR.

  • How to implement a C# interface in F#?

    - by Anton Andreev
I would like to implement the following C# interface in F#: using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using Mono.Addins; [TypeExtensionPoint] public interface ISparqlCommand { string Name { get; } object Run(Dictionary<string, string> NamespacesDictionary, org.openrdf.repository.Repository repository, params object[] argsRest); } This is what I have tried, but it gives me: "Incomplete structured construct at or before this point in expression" #light module Module1 open System open System.Collections.Generic; type MyClass() = interface ISparqlCommand with member this.Name = "Finding the path between two tops in the Graph" member this.Run(NamespacesDictionary, repository, argsRest) = new System.Object What am I doing wrong? Maybe indentation is wrong?

  • Test/expand my email regex

    - by Ross
I'm really not confident with Regex, I know some basic syntax but not enough to keep me happy. I'm trying to build a regular expression to check if an email is valid. So far here's what I've got: [A-Za-z0-9._-]+@[A-Za-z0-9]+.[A-Za-z.]+ It needs to take account of periods in the username/domain and I think it works with multiple TLDs (e.g. co.uk). I'm working with the preg engine in PHP so it needs to work with that. Thanks if you can help!

  • Excluding a specific substring from a regex

    - by Matt S
I'm attempting to mangle a SQL query via regex. My goal is essentially grab what is between FROM and ORDER BY, if ORDER BY exists. So, for example for the query: SELECT * FROM TableA WHERE ColumnA=42 ORDER BY ColumnB it should capture TableA WHERE ColumnA=42, and it should also capture if the ORDER BY expression isn't there. The closest I've been able to come is SELECT (.*) FROM (.*)(?=(ORDER BY)) which fails without the ORDER BY. Hopefully I'm missing something obvious. I've been hammering in Expresso for the past hour trying to get this.

  • How to dynamically use the PropertyType reflection attribute to create a respective typed Function<

    - by vsj
    I want to use type returned by PropertyType to create a typed function. I found this similiar http://stackoverflow.com/questions/914578/using-type-returned-by-type-gettype-in-c but this mentions how to create a list but does not mention how we can create a Func<. Please help me out. Pseudocode: PropertyInfo inf = typeof(SomeClass).GetProperty("PropertyName"); Type T=inf.PropertyType; Expression<Func<SomeClass,T>> le = GetPropertyOrFieldByName<SomeClass, T>("PropertyName");

  • boost timer usage question

    - by stefita
I have a really simple question, yet I can't find an answer for it. I guess I am missing something in the usage of the boost timer.hpp. Here is my code, that unfortunately gives me an error message: include <boost/timer.hpp> int main() { boost::timer t; } And the error messages are as follows: /usr/include/boost/timer.hpp: In member function ‘double boost::timer::elapsed_max() const’: /usr/include/boost/timer.hpp:59: error: ‘numeric_limits’ is not a member of ‘std’ /usr/include/boost/timer.hpp:59: error: ‘::max’ has not been declared /usr/include/boost/timer.hpp:59: error: expected primary-expression before ‘double’ /usr/include/boost/timer.hpp:59: error: expected `)' before ‘double’ The used library is boost 1.36 (SUSE 11.1). Thanks in advance!

  • Regex for zeroing in on build output text error

    - by Mike Atlas
I'd like to quickly hone in on what failed in a build log output that is nearly 5k lines long, using Notepad++ as my editor for the file. Notepad++ has the nice ability to specify regular expressions, so I am wondering if there is a way to not match: Compile complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings but to match, for example: Compile complete -- 1 errors, 0 warnings Compile complete -- 100 errors, 0 warnings where the match would be (1 or more) errors. If this isn't possible, I will probably just write a quick line-by-line parsing tool instead, but I was hoping someone on StackOverflow could whip out a regular expression in the same amount of time - I'm definitely not proficient enough with regular expressions to be able to write one for my needs in a short amount of time.

  • How can a class's memory-allocated address be determined from within the contructor?

    - by Jim Fell
Is it possible to get the memory-allocated address of a newly instantiated class from within that class's constructor during execution of said constructor? I am developing a linked list wherein multiple classes have multiple pointers to like classes. Each time a new class instantiates, it needs to check its parent's list to make sure it is included. If I try to do something like this: MyClass() // contructor { extern MyClass * pParent; for ( int i = 0; i < max; i++ ) { pParent->rels[i] == &MyClass; // error } } I get this error: error C2275: 'namespace::MyClass' : illegal use of this type as an expression Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • How can I check the type of an object against a list of types?

    - by RookieRick
Given a collection IEnumerable<Type> supportedTypes What's the best way to check whether a given object is one of those types (or a derived type)? My first instinct was to do something like: // object target is a parameter passed to the method in which I'm doing this. if (supportedTypes.Count( supportedType => target is supportedType ) > 0) { // Yay my object is of a supported type!!! } ..but that doesn't seem to be working. Can I not use the "is" keyword in a lambda expression like this?

Hi one of my mates sent me this quiz see if you can guess the answers I will post mine later. In this quiz, some tasks related to the compilation process are listed. For each one of them, specify the part of the compiler that is responsible of performing it. Here are the possible answers: Lexical analyzer Parser Semantic analyzer None of the above Just fill the right choice (the number only) in the blank after each task: Checking that the parentheses in an expression are balanced _ _ _ _ _ Removing comments from the program _ _ _ _ _ Grouping input characters into "tokens" _ _ _ _ _ Reporting an error to the programmer about a missing (;) at the end of a C++ statement _ _ _ _ _ Checking if the type of the RHS (Right-Hand Side) of an assignment (=) is compatible with the LHS (Left-Hand Side) variable _ _ _ _ _ Converting the (AST) Abstract Syntax Tree into machine language _ _ _ _ _ Reporting an error about a strange character like '^' in a C++ program _ _ _ _ _ Optimizing the AST _ _ _ _ _

  • How do I insert data into a object relational table with multiple ref in the schema.

    - by Yiling
    I have a table with a schema of Table(number, ref, ref, varchar2, varchar2,...). How would I insert a row of data into this table? When I do: "insert into table values (1, select ref(p), ref(d), '239 F.3d 1343', '35 USC § 283', ... from plaintiff p, defendant d where p.name='name1' and d.name='name2');" I get a "missing expression" error. If I do: "insert into table 1, select ref(p), ref(d), ... from plaintiff p, defendant where p.name=...;" I get a "missing keyword VALUES" error.

  • Unrecognized option: -o Could not create the Java virtual machine.

    - by Kerubu
I've got an unusual build error when using Buildroot to create an image for my Phidget SBC. It's unusual because it occurs ONLY on my development laptop and NOT on my general use laptop even though I am using EXACTLY the same Builroot environment as published by Phidgets themselves. When I try to create my Buildroot image I get the following error when it attempts to compile GNU classpath: Making all in tools make[2]: Entering directory `/home/xxxx/buildroot_phidgetsbc/buildroot-phidgetsbc_1.0.4.20111028/output/build/classpath-0.98/tools' /bin/mkdir -p classes asm /bin/mkdir -p ../tools/generated/gnu/classpath/tools/gjdoc/expr java -classpath antlr.Tool -o ../tools/generated/gnu/classpath/tools/gjdoc/expr/ \ ./gnu/classpath/tools/gjdoc/expr/java-expression.g Unrecognized option: -o Could not create the Java virtual machine. make[2]: *** [tools.zip] Error 1 The only difference I can possibly thing of is the different Linux (Ubuntu) versions I am using on each laptop. Also I cannot find a -o option documented for Java and don't understand why it works on one laptop but not the other. Any suggestions would be helpful.

  • What's the RegEx to make sure that delimiters are escaped?

    - by Kuyenda
I'm looking for a regular expression that will check whether or not delimiters in a string are escaped with a backward slash. The delimiters I am concerned about are comma (\,), colon (\:), semicolon (\;) and of course the backward slash itself has to be escaped (\). For example, the string "test" should return a match because there are no delimiters in it, and no escaping is necessary. The string "te\;st" would return a match because the semicolon delimiter is escaped. "te;st" and "t\;s:t" would both fail because the both contain at least one delimiter that is not escaped. I know that I need a conditional and a positive look behind, and this is what I have so far, but it is not giving me the expected answer. ^(?<delimiter>[:;,\\])?(?(delimiter)\(?<=(?:\\\\)*\\)k<delimiter>|.)$ Any suggestions on how I can make this work? Thanks.

  • sql: DELETE + INSERT vs UPDATE + INSERT

    - by user93422
A similar question has been asked, but since it always depends, I'm asking for my specific situation separately. I have a web-site page that shows some data that comes from a database, and to generate the data from that database I have to do some fairly complex multiple joins queries. The data is being updated once a day (nightly). I would like to pre-generate the data for the said view to speed up the page access. For that I am creating a table that contains exact data I need. Question: for my situation, is it reasonable to do complete table wipe followed by insert? or should I do update, insert? SQL wise seems like DELETE + INSERT will be easier (it is single SQL expression). EDIT: RDBMS: MS SQL Server 2008 Ent

  • Let and construct versus let in sequence

    - by Stringer
Consider this OCaml code: let coupe_inter i j cases = let lcases = Array.length cases in let low,_,_ = cases.(i) and _,high,_ = cases.(j) in low, high, Array.sub cases i (j-i+1), case_append (Array.sub cases 0 i) (Array.sub cases (j+1) (lcases-(j+1))) Why the expression let ... and ... in is used in place of a let ... in let ... in sequence (like F# force you to do)? This construct seems quite frequent in OCaml code. Thanks!

  • Convert Json date string to JavaScript date object

    - by dagda1
Hi, I have the following JSON object which has a date field in the following format: { "AlertDate": "\/Date(1277334000000+0100)\/", "Progress": 1, "ReviewPeriod": 12 } I want to write a regular expression or a function to convert it to a javascript object so that it is in the form: { "AlertDate": "AlertDate":new Date(1277334000000), "Progress": 1, "ReviewPeriod": 12 } The above date format fails validation in the JQuery parseJSON method. I would like to convert the 1277334000000+0100 into the correct number of milliseconds to create the correct date when eval is called after validation. Can anyone help me out with a good approach to solving this? Cheers Paul

  • How to extract object reference from property access lamda

    - by Jim C
Here's a follow-up question to http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2820660/get-name-of-property-as-a-string. Given a method Foo (error checking omitted for brevity): // Example usage: Foo(() => SomeClass.SomeProperty) // Example usage: Foo(() => someObject.SomeProperty) void Foo(Expression<Func<T>> propertyLambda) { var me = propertyLambda.Body as MemberExpression; var pi = me.Member as PropertyInfo; bool propertyIsStatic = pi.GetGetMethod().IsStatic; object owner = propertyIsStatic ? me.Member.DeclaringType : ???; ... // Execute property access object value = pi.GetValue(owner, null); } I've got the static property case working but don't know how to get a reference to someObject in the instance property case. Thanks in advance.

  • Regular expressions in java

    - by rookie
String s= "(See <a href=\"/wiki/Grass_fed_beef\" title=\"Grass fed beef\" " + "class=\"mw-redirect\">grass fed beef.) They have been used for " + "<a href=\"/wiki/Paper\" title=\"Paper\">paper-making since " + "2400 BC or before."; In the string above I have inter-mixed html with text. Well the requirement is that the output looks like:- They have been used for paper-making since 2400 BC or before. Could some one help me with a generic regular expression that would produce the desired output from the given input? Thanks in advance!

  • Is there a Windows utility that will let me do multiple programmatic find/replaces on text that I cu

    - by billmaya
I've inherited some C# code that contains about a thousand lines of source that I need to modify, transforming it from this: newDataRow["to_dir"] = comboBox108.Text; To this: assetAttributes.Add("to_dir", comboBox108.Text); The lines occur in various places throughout the application in groups of 40 or 50. Modifying each line by hand in Visual Studio 2008 can be done but it's labor intensive and prone to errors. Is there a Windows utility out there that will let me cut and paste groups of code into it and then run some sort of reg-ex expression to transform the individual lines one-by-one? I'd also be willing to use some sort of VS 2008 add-in that performed the same set of reg-ex operations against a selection of code. Thanks in advance.

  • Exclude subexpression from regexec in c++

    - by wyatt
Suppose I was trying to match the following expression using regex.h in C++, and trying to obtain the subexpressions contained: /^((1|2)|3) (1|2)$/ Suppose it were matched against the string "3 1", the subexpressions would be: "3 1" "3" "1" If, instead it were matched against the string "2 1", the subexpressions would be: "2 1" "2" "2" "1" Which means that, depending on how the first subexpression evaluates, the final one is in a different element in the pmatch array. I realise this particular example is trivial, as I could remove one of the sets of brackets, or grab the last element of the array, but it becomes problematic in more complicated expressions. Suppose all I want are the top-level subexpressions, the ones which aren't subexpressions of other subexpressions. Is there any way to only get them? Or, alternatively, to know how many subexpressions are matched within a subexpression, so that I can traverse the array irrespective of how it evaluates? Thanks
