  • How do you get Lighttpd to compress CodeIgniter's "clean urls"?

    I was looking at PageSpeed on my test website and noticed that Lighttpd wasn't compressing my HTML (but was compressing my javascript and css files). I'm assuming this is because I'm using CodeIgniter and it's clean url system and since the requests don't have file extensions, Lighttpd doesn't have the rule to compress it. That being the case, how do I get Lighttpd to compress my HTML? Is this something I shouldn't be doing? Or something I need to specially configure Lighttpd for?

    hi, i send ajax requests with jquery, and i have a function: $('input').ajaxSuccess(function(e, xhr, settings) { console.log(xhr.responseText); }); Ajax response ara russian letters in utf-8, all server (apache, php) and files are in utf-8 but response text is something like this: \u0421\u043b\u0438\u0448\u043a\u043e\u043c \u043c\u0430\u043b\u043e \u0431\u0443\u043a\u0432! how could i decode this characters to normal words?     Hi folks, I've built a web application with Django, I'm using Memcached in order to cache data. A few views cache the whole HttpResponse objects, therefore there might be a better alternative for returning the Memcached data other than going through Django. What could be faster alternatives for returning Memcached data on HTTP Requests ? I'm trying to make the operation as fast and lightweight as possible. Help would be much appreciated! :)

  • Is unobtrusive RJS files in Rails 3 considered a good idea?

    I'm working on implementing javascript functionality in my rails 3 app. Now that rjs is supposedly unobtrusive (I honestly don't know a lot about rjs), is it still "evil"? It seems to me the downside may be a lack of testability, but partial page updates via rjs seem to be easier than jumping through the rails hurdles to make ajax requests via jquery. Thoughts? Examples?

    I'm looking for a thin, generic layer (probably written in PHP) that sits between a database (probably MySQL) and web service clients (which could be anything). I imagine there would be config files of some sort that tell it how to map web service requests to database queries (or other DB commands). It would also need to handle authentication and authorization, of course. I've done some googling but failed to find anything that fits the bill. Can anyone suggest something like this?

  • IE6 secure and nonsecure error - nothing in Fiddler/no iframes

    Hi, I've got the issue of IE6 showing the "secure and nonsecure items" error on an SSL page. Looking into it though none of the usual causes seem to apply. There are no calls to http://, there are no iframes in the page, fiddler and httpfox both show only requests to https:// - what else can i check? In Firefox and IE there is nothing to suggest there is mixed content at all

So far I've been muddling along with Firebug, but it's quite a bit of effort using that, and I would prefer some form of scriptable tool, both to make it easier for me and to allow an automated regression test.     I'm wondering if it is possibile to customize routing in a way that all requests are evaluated by a piece of code, redirected to the relevant controller if a match is found or passed to next rout in list if not found. sample request: /my coolpage/another one the code searches and determine that the right controller for this is Page, action is "list" and id is "123" and so redirects another request: /products/list/5 code finds no match al passes it back to next route that knows how to handle it... any idea on how to do this?

    Hi A Flash program is connecting to WCF web service hosted on a server without anti-virus and without firewall and windows server 2003 64 bit environment. The flash return Connection failed message When I sniffer it I found that the Flash program cannot find these requests, http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd1 http://IP:2805/BLL.svc?xsd=xsd0 The strange thing is that the service work fine with asp.net. also the same service deployed on another server, just work fine!! Is there a work around. Thanks
