• Programmatically convert a video to FLV

  i am currently working on a web application that needs to accept video uploaded by users in any format (.avi, .mov, etc.) and convert them to flv for playing in a flash-based player. Since the site is OpenCms-based, the best solution would be a ready-made plugin for OpenCms that allowed to upload and play videos doing the transcode operation in background, but just a set of Java classes to do the transcode would be great and then i could make the uploading form and playback part on my own.

  I have a UISearchBar and UISearchDisplayController, everything works great but my scope selector displays beside the text field instead of below it. I know that this is the expected action when the device is in landscape, but since I have the UISearchBar in the master view of a UISplitViewController it ends up looking like this http://cl.ly/BN9 Is there any way to force the scope bar to display below the text field in all interface orientations (I know that this works nicely in Mail.app on the iPad, so its possibly, but who knows if Apple decided to hide the option to do so)

  Hello- Quick question: I am trying to fill in empty spaces with a specific number of zeroes in an NSString stringWithFormat formatting string. For example, I want: @"The number is %d", 5 // I want this to output 'the number is 05' @"the number is %d", 10 // I want this to output 'the number is 10' I know how to do this in Java, but I cant seem to find the same function in objective-c.   I was wondering if there was some sort of cheat sheet for which objects go well with the using statement... SQLConnection, MemoryStream, etc. Taking it one step further, it would be great to even show the other "pieces of the puzzle", like how you should actually call connection.Close() before the closing using statement bracket. Anything like that exist? If not, maybe we should make one.

• iPhone: Compressing .app files in command line (Mac OS X) removes CodeSigning

  I am trying to do a simple build automation of my iPhone apps with TeamCity, but having this nagging issue.. When I manually pickup and install .app file from the build folder it works great (syncs smoothly with iTunes and I can see the app on my phone) But when I try to zip this with /bin/zip or ditto...then the zipped contents loose the CodeSigning (iTunes says that it cannot install this app because its not signed) I have tried different combinations of these.. ditto -ck --rsrc --keepParent HelloWorld.app HelloWorld.zip Any more ideas?

  My team uses SVN for our software platform, and we create tags periodically to help keep module versions straight. Best practice, as I understand it, is not to modify a tag once it has been created. However, it seems that sometimes the temptation is too great and a modification is made to one of the tags.   I have been using jQuery IntelliSense in VS2008 and it has been great. Recently I added a reference to jQuery UI and since then, the jQuery IntelliSense has went away. I found that once you reference another .js file in your document, the IntelliSense goes away. Any way to avoid this?

• Adding Emboss to a UILabel in a navigationItem.titleView (as seen with navigationItem.title)

  I'm trying to mimic the default emboss that automatically gets applied to navigationItem.title, as well as many other UIKit controls. As seen in this screenshot's title ("Table Cells"): I'm essentially trying to add 2 UILabels to the navigationItem.titleView, however the UILabels just show up as flatly drawn and it really just doesn't feel/look right :P I've thought about playing with shadows, but that would only give the embossed look (if even that) on one side of the label. Any ideas would be great! Thanks
