  • Unicode symbols coming wrong

    Obviously, there must be something stupid i'm doing. The unicode chart for subscripts and superscripts says #00B2 is superscript 2, but i get scrambled output. 0078 is x, but I get N, and 0120 is x. Am i reading wrong manual? EDIT $x = '&#0078;'; print html_entity_decode($x, ENT_NOQUOTES, 'UTF-8') . "\n";

  • On Update: Auto Update Date/Time Field

    Hello all, Is there an equivalent of MySQLs on update field for SQL server? With both DEFAULT CURRENT_TIMESTAMP and ON UPDATE CURRENT_TIMESTAMP clauses, the column has the current timestamp for its default value, and is automatically updated. What I am looking for is to have a date/time field and every time I update a record it updates the field with the date/time it was updated automatically? If it doesn't exist, I guess I'll have to go manual. Thanks all

The binaries that get deployed are built from B branch and labeled. Currently all this is manual. In Perforce, is there a simple way to accomplish this like merging Branches based on labels etc?

  • Sphinx search: failed to unpack mysqlcompress column

    I have compiled sphinx 0.9.9 for debian x64. When I try to index using unpack_mysqlcompress, I get this error: "WARNING: failed to unpack column 'page_text', error=-5" The 'page_text' field is around 5Kb, and unpack_mysqlcompress_maxsize is set to 64M, yet the zlib manual says error -5 indicates Z_BUF_ERROR. Also if mysql does the decompression using UNCOMPRESS(), it works fine. Any ideas why sphinx is generating this error?

    I'm getting the following line in the disassembly from objdump -d of an x86 linux program... 4000b0: ba 0e 00 00 00 mov $0xe,%edx I'm trying to understand how the machine code "ba 0e 00 00 00" maps to "mov $0xe,%edx" In the manual move immediate 32-bit is: B8 + rd ... MOV r32, imm32 ie "B8" not "BA" In fact none of the MOV opcodes are "BA". If someone could break down "ba 0e 00 00 00" and explain bit-wise how to get to "mov $0xe,%edx" it would be most helpful.

I want to reduce the number of triangle without affecting shape of object. for eg, I have two triangles, (1,1.5,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (1.5,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) (2,1.5,2) In this case these two triangle is same as a single triangle - (1,1.5,2) (2,1.5,2) (1.7,2,2) I dont want the manual method, But if there is any direct function or such thing which will reduce my triangle list.     HI I'd like to know how to check out the speed of a file being uploaded in real time using the curl library in c++. This is what I have written: curl_easy_getinfo(curl,CURLINFO_SPEED_UPLOAD,&c); But the manual says that it shows average speed, but even this doesn't seem to work with me, because I can only see a 0. There is one more thing: How to set an upload limit that works, because if I write this: curl_easy_setopt(curl, CURLOPT_MAX_SEND_SPEED_LARGE, 100); I get an error 502 message

    I'm trying to use the method for naming a lua package after the filename mentioned here, however _REQUIREDNAME is never defined. For example I have these two files samplePackage.lua: print("_REQUIREDNAME: ", _REQUIREDNAME) return nil; packageTest.lua: require "samplePackage" And when I run packageTest.lua it outputs > _REQUIREDNAME: nil I also couldn't find any mention of _REQUIREDNAME in the Lua 5.1 Refrence manual, so was this removed from the language, or am I missing something?

    I'm reading the gcc manual at the moment, especially the part about warning/error flags. After reading the part about the -Wextra flag, I wonder if it is useful at all. It seems that it complains about things which seem to be rather subjective or a matter of taste. I'm not that experienced with gcc, I only use it from time to time for some small projects at university, so to all experienced C/C++ (or for whatever language you use gcc), what's the deal with -Wextra?
