super function doesn't work inside a maya python module

Somehow, this works fine in the Maya/Python script editor, but fails when it's inside of my module code. how do call a polymorphic function from an agnostic function?

I have a method foo void foo (String x) { ... } void foo (Integer x) { ... } and I want to call it from a method which does not care about the argument: void bar (Iterable i) { ... for (Object x : i) foo(x); // this is the only time i is used ... } the code above complains that that foo(Object) is not defined and when I add void foo (Object x) { throw new Exception; } then bar(Iterable<String>) calls that instead of foo(String) and throws the exception. How do I avoid having two textually identical definitions of bar(Iterable<String>) and bar(Iterable<Integer>)? I thought I would be able to get away with something like <T> void bar (Iterable<T> i) { ... for (T x : i) foo(x); // this is the only time i is used ... } but then I get cannot find foo(T) error.

Accessing a Class Member from a First-Class Function

I have a case class which takes a list of functions: case class A(q:Double, r:Double, s:Double, l:List[(Double)=>Double]) I have over 20 functions defined. Some of these functions have their own parameters, and some of them also use the q, r, and s values from the case class. Two examples are: def f1(w:Double) = (d:Double) => math.sin(d) * w def f2(w:Double, q:Double) = (d:Double) => d * q * w The problem is that I then need to reference q, r, and s twice when instantiating the case class: A(0.5, 1.0, 2.0, List(f1(3.0), f2(4.0, 0.5))) //0.5 is referenced twice I would like to be able to instantiate the class like this: A(0.5, 1.0, 2.0, List(f1(3.0), f2(4.0))) //f2 already knows about q! What is the best technique to accomplish this? Can I define my functions in a trait that the case class extends? EDIT: The real world application has 7 members, not 3. Only a small number of the functions need access to the members. Most of the functions don't care about them.

SSRS Multilookup Function for Names with Comma Separation

I would like to put the following in a a multilookup drop-down in reporting services: "Smith, John", "Jones, Tim", "Kelly, Andy" The comma separating the first and last name prevents the multilookup from working correctly. I am also unable to use ticks (' or ") in reporting service to keep the separating comma from working like a multilookup comma that separates the fields I want to select from. Is there a way to keep the comma in the names while still allowing multilookup? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

PHP Round function

Is it possible to round a number where if it's 5 , just leave it , anything below 5 round down , anything above 5 round up? EX: 5 * 1.35 = 6.75 .... leave it 5.2 * 1.35 = 7.02 .... 7.00 5.5 * 1.35 = 7.56 .... 8.00 I've formatted with round($n,0, PHP_ROUND_HALF_UP) where $n is the product from the above calc , which leaves 6.75 but returns 7.02 for the next one. I also tried round($n,-1, PHP_ROUND_HALF_UP) which gives me the 7.00 on the second calc but then of course won't return a 6.75 for the first, instead it returns 680. This is a ticket markup calculation where the user enters the first number and is multiplied by the second. I actually remove the decimal because they don't want to see it, and they want this sort of customized rounding on the result. Thanks, Steve

Using twig variable to dynamically call an imported macro sub-function

I am attempting if use a variable to call a specific macro name. PHP Function needed for GENERIC sorting of a recordset array

Somebody must have come up with a solution for this by now. I wrote a PHP class to display a recordset as an HTML table/datagrid, and I wish to expand it so that we can sort the datagrid by whichever column the user selects. In the below example data, we may need to sort the recordset array by Name, Shirt, Assign, or Age fields. I will take care of the display part, I just need help with sorting the data array. As usual, I query a database to get a result, iterate throught he result, and put the records into an assciateiave array. So, we end up with an array of arrays. (See below.) I need to be able to sort by any column in the dataset. However, I will not know the column names at design time, nor will I know if the colums will be string or numeric values. I have seen a ton of solutions to this, but I have not seen a GOOD and GENERIC solution Can somebody please suggest a way that I can sort the recordset array that is GENERIC, and will work on any recordset? Again, I will not know the fields names or datatypes at design time. The array presented below is ONLY an example. Problem passing a reference as a named parameter to a variadic function

I'm having problems in Visual Studio 2003 with the following: void foo(const char*& str, ...) { va_list args; va_start(args, str); const char* foo; while((foo = va_arg(args, const char*)) != NULL) { printf("%s\n", foo); } } When I call it: const char* one = "one"; foo(one, "two", "three", NULL); I get: Access violation reading location 0xcccccccc on the printf() line -- va_arg() returned 0xcccccccc. I finally discovered it's the first parameter being a reference that breaks it -- if I make it a normal char* everything is fine. It doesn't seem to matter what the type is; being a reference causes it to fail at runtime. Is this a known problem with VS2003, or is there some way in which that's legal behavior? It doesn't happen in GCC; I haven't tested with newer Visual Studios to see if the behavior goes away

I'm dealing with django-paypal and want to change the button src images. So I went the the conf.py file in the source and edited the src destination. However, I really want to leave the source alone, and I noticed that the class PayPalPaymentsForm(forms.Form): has def get_image(self): return { (True, self.SUBSCRIBE): SUBSCRIPTION_SANDBOX_IMAGE, (True, self.BUY): SANDBOX_IMAGE, (True, self.DONATE): DONATION_SANDBOX_IMAGE, (False, self.SUBSCRIBE): SUBSCRIPTION_IMAGE, (False, self.BUY): IMAGE, (False, self.DONATE): DONATION_IMAGE, }[TEST, self.button_type] which handles all the image src destinations. Since changing this def in the source is worse than changing conf, I was wondering if there was a way to pass in customized defs you make like passing in initial arguments in forms? Is it valid to store the return value of an object in a reference? class A { ... }; A myFunction() { A myObject; return A; } //myObject goes out of scope here void mySecondFunction() { A& mySecondObject = myFunction(); } Is it possible to do this in order to avoid copying myObject to mySecondObject? myObject is not needed anymore and should be exactly the same as mySecondObject so it would in theory be faster just to pass ownership of the object from one object to another. (This is also possible using boost shared pointer but that has the overhead of the shared pointer.) Thanks in advance.

how to use expressons as function parameters in powershell

This is a very simple task in every language I have ever used, but I can't seem to figure it out in PowerShell. An example of what I'm talking about in C: abs(x + y) The expression x + y is evaluated, and the result passed to abs as the parameter... how do I do that in PowerShell? The only way I have figured out so far is to create a temporary variable to store the result of the expression, and pass that. PowerShell seems to have very strange grammar and parsing rules that are constantly catching me by surprise, just like this situation. Does anyone know of documentation or a tutorial that explains the basic underlying theory of the language? I can't believe these are all special cases, there must be some rhyme or reason that no tutorial I have yet read explains. And yes, I've read this question, and all of those tutorials are awful. I've pretty much been relegated to learning from existing code.

Having a base class function depend on its child class C#

I have a Base class with a method that a child class will almost always override. However, instead of replacing the base class' method entirely, I would like for whatever is derived in the child class to be added to what is already in the base class. For Example: class BaseClass public string str() { var string = "Hello my name is" ; } class ChildClass : BaseClass public override string str(){ var string = "Sam"; } The point is that if I want to access the str() method by creating an instance of the ChildClass, the string will print out as "Hello, my name is Sam". I've been looking around and all I have been finding is that this should NOT happen, as the base class shouldn't even know that it is being inherited. So, if the design is false, how would I go about doing this? Keep in mind that there will be multiple child classes inheriting from BaseClass. Thank you

Hi, Im currently building a new discount-webpage and Im looking for a solution to be able to hover over a discount button to reveal a small text without clicking. And after clicking on the button that the text in the flash button is copied into the clipboard and a new page open with a small frame from my window with the new page underneith. examples of this kind of script can be viewed on this page: http://www.retailmenot.com/ on the yellow boxes with the discount text. Why is this postgres function failing only on one specifc database?

I'm trying to fix an issue with a legacy database. The quote_literal function is not working for a specific database on an 8.4 install of postgres. Here's my results on a fresh test database: select quote_literal(42); quote_literal --------------- '42' (1 row) And now the same on the target db select quote_literal(42); ERROR: function quote_literal(integer) is not unique LINE 1: select quote_literal(42); ^ HINT: Could not choose a best candidate function. You might need to add explicit type casts. AIUI, the quote_literal(anyvalue) function should handle integer values ok, and this seems to be upheld by the first test. So I figured the quote_literal function must have been overridden in this db but no this doesn't seem to be the case. I could override it with a specific quote_literal(integer) function but I don't see why I should have to. The question is what is could be causing the failure of this function in this specific database whilst not affecting the fresh db?
