  • RSA Encrypt in PHP to decrypt in .NET

    In PHP I am RSA encrypting a message to be decrypted by .NET application... but I keep getting a "Bad Key" exception from .NET.... For RSA encryption, I am using PEAR class Crypt_RSA- encrypting with the public key (which is a modulus, exponent pair) I get from working encryption system in .NET... I guess the easiest question would be- does "Bad Key" mean it is not able to decrypt the message whatsoever? IE, it is not encrypted correctly? The harder question is- Is there anything specific about RSA encryption that causes quirks between .NET and PHP?

    I'm talking about ASP.NET AJAX library. I'm using HoverMenuBehavior to display a tooltip. What I'm missing however is to display it left from tooltip referece or to the right depending on tooltip image position.   • How do I get the value of a DynamicControl?

    I'm using ASP.NET Dynamic Data functionality to do something a little weird. Namely, create a dynamic list of fields as children of the main object. So basically I have Ticket.Fields. The main page lists all the fields for Ticket, and the Fields property has a DynamicControl that generates a list of controls to collect more data. The tricky part is that this list ALSO uses Dynamic Data to generate the controls, so each field can be any of the defined FieldTemplates... meaning I don't necessarily know what the actual data control will be when I try to get the value. So, how do I get the value of a DynamicControl? Do I need to create a new subclass of FieldTemplate that provides a means to get at the value?

    Actually I want to serialize my data using Google's java implementation and then deserialize using C# implementation? I have chosen portobuf-net as it seems to be more stable (porto# is still v0.9 or I would have gone for it). Before I start working on it I wanted to be sure that I can achieve this (serializing data using java implementation and deserializing it using potobuf-net). Or is there any list of methods that are specific to portobuf-net implementation?

    I have a project in ASP.NET MVC1 using VB.NET controlers and JqGrid. it works fine under MVC1. After migrating the project to ASP.NET MVC2, the grid is no longer populated. It seems that there is some new restrictions on returned Jsonresult in MVC2. How to solve this in VB.NET. Controler function populating the jqgrid is something like this : Function GetGridRecordset(ByVal qry As String) As JsonResult Dim result = New JsonResult() ... ...     I'm trying to deploy my WCF RIA services application to our in-house server for testing. I've been following the instructions and comments from this blog site: http://timheuer.com/blog/archive/2009/12/10/tips-to-deploy-ria-services-troubleshoot.aspx At the end someone points to this question: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1528324/how-to-solve-a-http-error-404-3-not-found-error I've been trying to run that same tool with .net 4.0 but it keeps giving me an error: [Warning]The HTTP namespace reservation already exists. I am running the version of the exe that I found inside of C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.21006 There is also C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v3.0\Windows Communication Foundation that has (what I assume is) the same exe in it, and I can use it just fine. I've tried to un-install the 3.0 version before installing the 4.0 version, but I am still getting the same warning and failure. Has anyone successfully done this with .net 4.0?

    When you add a VSTO (not Word native) content control, you specify the name: controls.AddContentControl(wordRange, "foo", wdType); Where controls is the VSTO (extended) Document.Controls collection. You can later look up the control by name: ContentControl myContentControl = controls["foo"]; So why in the world is there no Name property for ContentControl? (or ContentControlBase, or any of the other derivatives). I'm implementing a wrapper class for the Document.Controls property that lets you add or iterate the content controls. When iterating the underlying Document.Controls, there's no way to look up the name of each control. (We need it to return an instance of our ContentControl wrapper).   • What's the best way to learn .NET?

    I've been developing Java EE for quite a while now. I've used WebLogic, Tomcat, Spring, and Hibernate extensively, so I have a mental model of what features are available and how things are developed and deployed. The problem that I have with .NET is that I don't have a clear mapping of its features onto Java EE. Here's what I know so far: Java EE - .NET Java - C# JAR - DLL WAR - ? (deployment in general) EAR - ? (deployment in general) Tomcat - IIS web server JSP - ASP? JDBC - ODBC JMS - MSMQ JTA - Microsoft Transaction Manager So much of the functionality that WebLogic handles appears to be dispersed throughout the Windows OS. My confusion kicks in when I see the waves of books at Borders - VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, etc. If I'm not a VB programmer, would it be possible to stick with C# and write enterprise apps that are the equivalent of what I'm used to with Java EE? If there were a Top Three list of books to learn from, what would they be?   • Asp.net renders string with wrong encoding, but PHP doesn't (MySQL)

    I took over some old php application with MySQL as database. Inside the database, there are tables including content with localized strings (therefore containing special chars) Currently there is a PHP application accessing that database. My job is to create an ASP.net (C# codebehind) application that accesses that strings as well. That works, as far as encoding goes. If I try to access these strings, I do get a kind of encoding problem, like 'Ändern' and 'Prüfzeichen', but only in the ASP.net application. The PHP app sets utf-8 as charset and the strings are perfectly rendered. In the ASP.net application it's gibberish, regardless of the page encoding. In the MySQL database, the charset for the specified table 'translations' is set to 'latin --cp1252 West European' and collation to 'latin_swedish_ci'. I can't seem to figure out what PHP apparently does, and ASP.net does not. I traced the php code and could not find any sign of special encoding while getting a string from the database. The question is, how can I ensure correct encoding inside the ASP.net application without modifying the database, because big changes at the php code are not possible? Does anybody have a clue?

  • Do not re-create session id .net cookieless sessions

    Due to target audience I am using .net cookieless sessions in auto-detect mode and time to time I get visitors redirected with cookiless session url like domain.com/(S(jdhdghdghd))/default.aspx Problem is, if I call this url after session expired .net will re-create it. What I want to find out is a way to force .net to create another session id instead of using the one that came with url. Is it possible?
