  • Does pointing *.[int].mydomain.com to 192.168.1.[int] constitute a security threat

    For testing purposes, I've found it's really useful to point whatever.machineIP.mydomain.com to 192.168.1.machineIP : that way we can test each other's code without fidgetting with hosts files. I'm aware that this identifies our local IP addresses to the outside world, but if someone could access the network, it'd be trivial to sniff which of the local IP addresses respond to port 80 anyway.     I'm looking for a good collocation host in Los Angeles. I've looked at quite a few hosts, but found precious few reviews. Has anyone had particularly good or bad experiences that can point me in a good direction? We will be starting out with 2U's and I'm leaning towards burstable bandwidth rather than 95th percentile.   • Can radius interact with pptp beyond authentication?

    I've managed to setup pptp to use Radius authentication - making it much easier to manage users in an sql database than the default password file. However, ideally I'd like to be able to get the status of these users and disconnect/manage them as Radius allows - is this possible? If so, could you elaborate and point me in the right direction? All help is much appreciated! Edit I am personally using Debian and the standard aptitude packages for pptp and FreeRADIUS.

    I have edited my apache vhost file in /etc/apache2/sites-enabled to add the following: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName www.mysite.cn ServerAlias mysite.cn *.mysite.cn DocumentRoot /home/user/static/mysite/cn </VirtualHost> It still points to the default site on the server when i browse to mysite.cn but when i enter anything along the lines of ww3.mysite.cn it point to the new correct document root any clues of what the problem could be as i am lost.

    I'm trying to do the following: get a cname setup so that *.subdomain.domain.com points to anotherdomain.com. Then in the anotherdomain.com DNS, I want to look for things like one.subdomain.domain.com and point it to another server and two.subdomain.domain.com pointed to a fourth server. Is this possible in any way? I need that wildcard cname initially because our IT department is very slow in assigning additional CNAMEs. Any help would be appreciated here.

I know somethings (mostly through trial and error) but for example how do I know that: /usr/bin/ls [-aAbcCdeEfFghHilLmnopqrRstuvVx1@] [file]... Means that you can include more than one option. Ie: ls -la Can someone point me to some documentation on what the usage syntax is.

    I am trying to activate the CDN tools plugin and I keep getting the following error: Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /srv/www/www.triathleteskitchen.com/wp-content/plugins/cdn-tools/cdn_classes/cloudfiles/cloudfiles_http.php on line 252 After extensive research on this issue in which I updated both of the following settings: max_execution_time = 300 memory_limit = 128M and verified the settings are active by setting up a dump phpinfo() page.     I am facing a big problem since there are many msbuild.exe files in .Netframework and winsxs folders and I don't know if it is required to set all of them as trusted in the antivirus. The path changes server to server and hence it makes life harder! If it matters to you, I am using Kaspersky endpoint security 10.     I successfully configured Postfix to deliver messages to virtual mailboxes. I can set aliases and pipes inside /etc/postfix/virtual and mailboxes inside /etc/postfix/virtual_mailbox files. However, whenever I set a catch-all domain and point to a remote email address, it overrides all other virtual mailboxes and virtual aliases set in postfix. How can I set a catch-all forwarding to the remote email address when virtual mailbox is enabled? I set catch-all like this: @mydomain.com [email protected] Thanks for your help!

    Ok, so I have 192.168.x.14 with port 80 open and I have set the netgear router to point there then I have 192.168.x.12 with apache running but when I try to connect using chrome to the website hosted on .12 it cant find it, how do I set up .14 to also check .12 /nagios is running on .12 while /munin is running on .14 Thank you for helping I know about Squid, but I don't know what to do?     I'm creating a batch script for a class and I've hit a roadblock I have to list all text files whose names are up to seven characters long on the whole c: drive - make the listing output in a wide formant - then append to Batch script file output.txt So far I have -- dir c:*txt/w/o/s/p c:/"My Batch Script File Assigment"/"Output"/"Batch Script File Output Data".txt The above does everything except limit the search to files with only 1-7 characters in their name. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it!
