  • Rotating a NetBeans Visual Library Widget

    - by Geertjan
Trying to create a widget which, when clicked, rotates slightly further on each subsequent click: Above, the bird where the mouse is visible has been clicked a few times and so has rotated a bit further on each click. The code isn't quite right yet and I'm hoping someone will take this code, try it out, and help with a nice solution! public class BirdScene extends Scene {     public BirdScene() {         addChild(new LayerWidget(this));         getActions().addAction(ActionFactory.createAcceptAction(new AcceptProvider() {             public ConnectorState isAcceptable(Widget widget, Point point, Transferable transferable) {                 Image dragImage = getImageFromTransferable(transferable);                 if (dragImage != null) {                     JComponent view = getView();                     Graphics2D g2 = (Graphics2D) view.getGraphics();                     Rectangle visRect = view.getVisibleRect();                     view.paintImmediately(visRect.x, visRect.y, visRect.width, visRect.height);                     g2.drawImage(dragImage,                             AffineTransform.getTranslateInstance(point.getLocation().getX(),                             point.getLocation().getY()),                             null);                     return ConnectorState.ACCEPT;                 } else {                     return ConnectorState.REJECT;                 }             }             public void accept(Widget widget, final Point point, Transferable transferable) {                 addChild(new BirdWidget(getScene(), getImageFromTransferable(transferable), point));             }         }));     }     private Image getImageFromTransferable(Transferable transferable) {         Object o = null;         try {             o = transferable.getTransferData(DataFlavor.imageFlavor);         } catch (IOException ex) {         } catch (UnsupportedFlavorException ex) {         }         return o instanceof Image ? (Image) o : null;     }     private class BirdWidget extends IconNodeWidget {         private int theta = 0;         public BirdWidget(Scene scene, Image imageFromTransferable, Point point) {             super(scene);             setImage(imageFromTransferable);             setPreferredLocation(point);             setCheckClipping(true);             getActions().addAction(ActionFactory.createMoveAction());             getActions().addAction(ActionFactory.createSelectAction(new SelectProvider() {                 public boolean isAimingAllowed(Widget widget, Point localLocation, boolean invertSelection) {                     return true;                 }                 public boolean isSelectionAllowed(Widget widget, Point localLocation, boolean invertSelection) {                     return true;                 }                 public void select(final Widget widget, Point localLocation, boolean invertSelection) {                     theta = (theta + 100) % 360;                     repaint();                     getScene().validate();                 }             }));         }         @Override         public void paintWidget() {             final Image image = getImageWidget().getImage();             Graphics2D g = getGraphics();             g.setRenderingHint(RenderingHints.KEY_ANTIALIASING, RenderingHints.VALUE_ANTIALIAS_ON);             Rectangle bounds = getClientArea();             AffineTransform newXform = g.getTransform();             int xRot = image.getWidth(null) / 2;             int yRot = image.getWidth(null) / 2;             newXform.rotate(theta * Math.PI / 180, xRot, yRot);             g.setTransform(newXform);             g.drawImage(image, bounds.x, bounds.y, null);         }     } } The problem relates to refreshing the scene after the rotation. But it would help if someone would just take the code above, add it to their own application, try it out, see the problem for yourself, and develop it a bit further!

  • R: Forecast package: Automatic algorithm for composite model involving ETS and AR

    - by phanikishan
Hey, I would like to write a code involving automatic selection of a best composite model using ETS as well as autoregressive models. What is the criteria I should base my selection on? Also if I'm using the auto.arima function for deducing number of AR terms and corresponding coefficients from the forecast package in R, does my input series necessarily have to be stationary? or the value for d would be automatically selected thus returning a non-stationary model? Thanks, Phani

  • Creating Visual Studio Extension Files (VSIX) for Template Deployment

While working on some plugins for the new Seesmic Desktop PlatformI got sick of copying and pasting some boiler plate code over and over. I had created some helper templates for myself so that I could say FileNew Seesmic Desktop Plugin and get everything I needed initially. This weekend I had some time and formalized those templates into an easy-to-use installer for anyone to consume. NOTE: It is likely that Seesmic themselves will create developer project/item templatesthese were for my own...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • worth learning c# before Visual Web Developer 2010 [closed]

    - by Jamie Knott
Ive been trying to learn asp.net from reading "beginning asp.net 4 with c#" and been finding it hard to get a solid grasp on the code involved. I plan to go to tafe sometime next year to get my diploma but want to start myself. instead of learning asp.net as a whole and all the languages involved such as c#, html css and javascript etc etc. I'm starting to think a solid understanding of at lest one of these might be beneficial I have "Beginning C# Object-Oriented Programming - Clark - Apress, is it worth learning about the languages before I go head first into a ide?.

  • How can i create sprite sheet from 3d model (3D studio max)

    - by OopsUser
I built simple 3D model of a car, with simple animation in which it's wheels are turning. Now i want to create a sprite sheet, the only way i know how to do it, is to render manually 20 frames from the from, then combine them to a strip manually, then rotate it by 10 degrees, render 20 frames of animation again and combine them to a strip... Is there a way to do it automatically ? With out rotating the scene manually and render it and combining .. it's a lot of work, takes more time then the modelling itself... Thanks

  • TabRenderer with no visual styles enabled?

    - by DxCK
I want to draw a custom TabControl with custom functionality. To do this, i inherited the Panel class and overrided OnPaint method to draw with TabRenderer class. The problem is that TabRenderer working only when visual styles enabled (can be checked with TabRenderer.IsSupported), but what should i do if visual styles disabled? In this case, I thought using the ControlPaint class to draw tabs without visual styles, but it has no draw method related to Tabs. I want it basically to behave visually like the regular TabControl.

  • Channel 9 Interview: Array and Collection Initializers in Visual Basic 2010 (Beth Massi, Spotty Bowl

Ive written about collection initializers on my blog before, but I thought Id catch up with the VB Team to tell me more about how they really work. In this interview Spotty Bowles, a tester on the VB Compiler team, shows us a couple of new language features: Array and Collection Initializers. He gives us insight into how they are implemented in the compiler and best practices on how to use them in our code. Additionally, he discusses how to extend Collection Initializers with your own extension...Did you know that DotNetSlackers also publishes .net articles written by top known .net Authors? • Speaker Prep Tip: Use the AV Studio Built into that Laptop

    - by merrillaldrich
Over at erinstellato.com there is a great post this week about tips for new presenters. Ms. Stellato suggests, insightfully, that we record ourselves, which is really a fantastic piece of advice. What’s extra-cool is that today you don’t need any special equipment or expensive software to do just that. This week I “filmed” two run-throughs of my talk for SQL Saturday tomorrow. For me, the timing is the hardest thing – figuring out how much content I can really present in the time allowed without...(read more)
