  • Code examples for a wallpaper app?

    I would like to write a C# app that runs like an overlay on the desktop wallpaper. Similar to the way that desktop widgets or Rainmeter(rainmeter.net) runs; behind other apps but on top of the desktop wallpaper. I cannot find any C# examples of this kind of behavior.     Is it possible to create a custom control structure with several code blocks, in the fashion of before { block1 } then { block2 } finally { block3 }? The question is about the sugar part only - I know the functionality can be easily achieved by passing the three blocks to a method, like doInSequence(block1, block2, block3). A real life example. For my testing utilities I'd like to create a structure like this: getTime(1000) { // Stuff I want to repeat 1000 times. } after { (n, t) => println("Average time: " + t / n) }

I've tryed SELECT 'TRUNCATE TABLE ' + TABLE_NAME FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_NAME LIKE 'inventory%' but I get this error: Truncated incorrect DOUBLE value: 'TRUNCATE TABLE ' Error Code 1292 if this is the correct way, then what am I doing wrong?

  • Performing your own runtime analysis of your code in C#

    I have written a large C# app with many methods in many classes. I'm trying to keep a log of what gets called and how often during my development. (I keep a record in a DB) Every method is padded with the following calls: void myMethod() { log(entering,args[]); log(exiting,args[]); } Since I want to do this for all my methods, is there a better way to do this then having to replicate those lines of code in every method?

  • Best Way to Include Debug Code?

    I am programming Android applications, and the best way here may or may not be the same as Java in general. I simply want to be able to set a debug flag that will only execute certain portions of code when it's set to true––equiv to C++ setting a preprocessor #define DEBUG and using #ifdef DEBUG. Is there an accepted or best way to accomplish this in Java? Right now I'm just going to set a variable in my Application object, but I don't imagine this is the best way.
