• Mysql Connection Error from 1.1.1 to 1.2.1

  I upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.2.1 and I seem to be getting the following exception when it attempts to connect to MySQL: The last packet sent successfully to the server was 0 milliseconds ago. The driver has not received any packets from the server. at com.mysql.jdbc.Util.handleNewInstance(Util.java:407) at com.mysql.jdbc.SQLError.createCommunicationsException(SQLError.java:1116) at com.mysql.jdbc.MysqlIO.<init>(MysqlIO.java:343) ... Caused by: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Native Method) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.doConnect(PlainSocketImpl.java:333) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(PlainSocketImpl.java:195) I've confirmed that MySQL is indeed running and seems to be working fine. The following is the line from my application.conf file (with user/pass/db replaced): db=mysql:username:password@databasename I also tried using the full JDBC configuration. Did I miss something? This worked just fine in 1.1.1. I'm running MySQL 5.1.41. Thanks.

• Unable to locate using find element by link

  Newbie in testing. I generated a test case using Selenium, and then exported it as a Python script. Now, when I try to run that in terminal, I get following error: raise exception_class(message, screen, stacktrace) NoSuchElementException: Message: u'Unable to locate element: {"method":"link text","selector":"delete"}' I am using the command generated by Selenium i.e driver.find_element_by_link_text("delete").click() The reason for the error I believe is that the link "delete" in my web page is seen only when I click on a particular line to be deleted. So I guess it is being unable to locate the link. Please suggest what alternative measure could I use to locate and click on the "delete" link. Thanks in Advance:)

  Hello, I am connecting to ADS through ODBC DSN. Everything works well until I tried out my Save Routine. Data is saved quite alright but I get an error that says - "Option value changed". What could this be? Can't find in the help file. The full error message is: ODBC - 2169 [iAnywhere Solutions][Advantage ODBC Driver] Option Value Changed. I sent an email in respect of this to [email protected] since this error number falls between error numbers: 2168 - 2188 Internal Error that should be reported. • Best way to access a sqlite database file in a web service.

  First question from me on stack overflow. I have created a java web application containing a web service using netbeans (I hope a web application were the correct choice). I use the web application as is with no extra frameworks. This web service use a sqlite JDBC driver for accessing a sqlite database file. My problem is that the file path end up incorrect when I try to form the JDBC connection string. Also, the working directory is different when deploying and when running JUnit tests. I read somewhere about including the file as a resource, but examples of this were nowhere to be seen. In any case, what is the best way to open the sqlite database, both when the web service is deployed and when I test it "localy"? I don't know much about web services, I just need it to work, so please, help me with the technicalities.

• How can I treat a sequence value like a generated key?

  Here is my situation and my constraints: I am using Java 5, JDBC, and DB2 9.5 My database table contains a BIGINT value which represents the primary key. For various reasons that are too complicated to go into here, the way I insert records into the table is by executing an insert against a VIEW; an INSTEAD OF trigger retrieves the NEXT_VAL from a SEQUENCE and performs the INSERT into the target table. I can change the triggers, but I cannot change the underlying table or the general approach of inserting through the view. I want to retrieve the sequence value from JDBC as if it were a generated key. Question: How can I get access to the value pulled from the SEQUENCE. Is there some message I can fire within DB2 to float this sequence value back to the JDBC driver?

• How can I compare two jpeg encoding and other inormations

  We have created a Driver programe which connect to a remote host using FTP and mount the remote host as a network drive. So when I try to copy some data it copies using FTP retrieve request and then paste it to the destination. The copy paste works fine as we can see the source file size and destination size are same. But while we try to open the .jpg file that is being copied , says no preview. I suspect there must be some bytes that is being corrupted while we try to copy and paste. Is there any tools so that I can compare both source and destination to get the differences.

• Reading in MIPS external file so another file can use it?

  Hey all, I'm working on this final thing for my MIPS project and it's deceptively easy. I need to get a procedure (called feed) and let its main driver program use it by reading it in. I know that I'm supposed to use the call code 14 and .globl sym (I think) in order to feed it into the file and have it read it. I just need a basic tutorial or something, as I CANNOT find it on the Internet or in my book (just lists the call code, real helpful). Here's what I know: I need to use read, but I also need a file descriptor (don't know where to get it). I need to put the buffer in $a1 and the length in $a2. Well, that's about it. If there's any decent tutorial you could whip up or if there is one online that I don't see let me know please :). I just need a push in the right direction, I'm sure it can't be too difficult, just can't find any info on it!

  I am trying to launch MS Office through WINE using a PERL script hosted by apache and and triggered by other application. I am getting the following error message in log files "Application trying to create a window but no driver could not be loaded. Make sure that your X server is running and that $DISPLAY is set correctly". If I run the script directly on shell prompt using root user then WINE starts XServer properly and execute MS MSoffice in addition to that if I set xhost +local:apache on shell prompt then also it works fine. How can I start the XServer from apache user?

  I've got a mysql database created by phpMyAdmin and I want to use it in my Qt project. I tried it on Visual Studio 2010 with an qt addon but it didn't work neither. In Qt Creator, I add: QT += sql in a .pro file and include: #include <QSqlDatabase> in the main file but there's a driver error. I don't know even where to start and each google page shows something different. I tried to look for some guide but there is nothing which concerns everything in []s.

• Key repeat on Windows

  When you hold a key on the keyboard under Windows XP, the keyboard seems to send Key Down, Key Up repeatedly. However I am developing for a device where holding a key generates a "proper" key repeat, that is, lots of Key Down and then one Key Up when you release the button. I want to get the same behaviour under Windows to get our emulator to work as on he device. Is there anyway to acheive this? Do I need to get another keyboard driver? Thanks!

  i have no option to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on my computer. Why is the option to install Windows 7 SP1 missing from Windows Update? i'm less interested in why the option is missing, and more interested in how to diagnose why the option to install Windows 7 SP1 is being hidden. Following the suggestions in KB2498452 - You do not have the option of downloading Windows 7 SP1 when you use Windows Update to check for updates: Confirm that Windows 7 SP1 is not already installed and that you are not running a prerelease version of Windows 7 SP1 i am not already running SP1, or a pre-release SP1: Check for pending updates Update 976902 may have to be installed on your computer before Windows 7 SP1 will be offered in Windows Update. i already have 976902 installed: Verify that an incompatible version of SafeCentral is not installed on your computer Windows SP1 may not appear in Windows Update if certain versions of SafeCentral are installed on your computer. Nor am i particularly interested in a direct download link. i want to learn here. i want to be able to diagnose (i.e. in the future) why an update is not being offered. i'm a superuser here. Rather than others coming up with a checklist of things to try, i want to be able to come up with the checklist.

• problems mounting an external IDE drive via USB in ubuntu

  I am having a problem connecting a specific IDE drive to my linux box. It's an old drive which I just want to get about 3 GB of files off of. INFO I am trying to connect a 200GB IDE Maxtor Drive, internally and externally... externally: I am using an self powered USB IDE external drive enclosure which I have used to connect various drives, under ubuntu and windows, in the past. The other posts stated it coudl be a problem I think i may have formatted the /dev/sdc partition instead of /dev/sdc1 partition when i originally formatted the drive. internally: I only have one machine left that has an internal IDE interface, and it's got XP on it. I plugged this drive internally into this machine with windows XP and used the ext2/ext3 drivers to mount this drive, but some files have question marks (?) in the file names which is messing up my copy process in windows. I can't delete the files under windows. Ubuntu Linux will not install on my only remaining machine that has IDE controller. • Why my VPN doesn't work anymore?

  I have openvpn server running on debian lenny. There is only one client - and it is running Windows 7 64-bit. This has worked for few months without any problems. And now, let's say for the last 7 days, it doesn't work at all. I connect successfully from client to the server, but I can't access anything through VPN. I have set it up so that all internet traffic is routed through VPN, and now when I connect with the client, the client can't do anything on the net (open any webpage, ping google, anything ...). Can you help me to figure out what's wrong ? I don't know where to start. I've also tried to connect to another openvpn server (I've installed and configured openvpn on another server, and when I try to connect to it result is the same). So I think there's something wrong with client ... • problems mounting an external IDE drive via USB in ubuntu

  I am having a problem connecting a specific IDE drive to my linux box. It's an old drive which I just want to get about 3 GB of files off of. INFO I am trying to connect a 200GB IDE Maxtor Drive, internally and externally... externally: I am using an self powered USB IDE external drive enclosure which I have used to connect various drives, under ubuntu and windows, in the past. The other posts stated it coudl be a problem I think i may have formatted the /dev/sdc partition instead of /dev/sdc1 partition when i originally formatted the drive. internally: I only have one machine left that has an internal IDE interface, and it's got XP on it. I plugged this drive internally into this machine with windows XP and used the ext2/ext3 drivers to mount this drive, but some files have question marks (?) in the file names which is messing up my copy process in windows. I can't delete the files under windows. Ubuntu Linux will not install on my only remaining machine that has IDE controller.   My setup: I have a PC with a Gigabyte GA-MA78S2H motherboard (Realtek Gigabit wired Ethernet on-board). I have the latest drivers (at least the latest driver for the NIC. I'm connecting via an Edimax BR-6216Mg (again, wired connection). For some reason I experience short periodic disconnects and reconnects. Specifically, Skype disconnects, tries to connect, succeeds after a short while; incoming SFTP sessions get dropped; using a browser, I sometime get stuck in the DNS lookup or connection to the website and a page won't load. A couple of seconds later, a reload works. All this happens with Windows XP SP3. With Windows 7, it also happens. Things I've done/tried: [2012-03-26] I replaced the cable; I thought that made a difference, but the disconnects were back a while later, so that wasn't it. Updated the NIC driver. Tried reducing the MTU (used a utility called Dr. TCP); there was no effect. I updated my board BIOS revision (which caused all the HW to be "reinstalled" or re-identified - successfully). I installed another NIC, and tried switching to it - same effect with the on-board NIC. A while back I tried another router (although it was an Edimax model) - same problem. Connected the computer directly, with no router. Same problem. ping -t to the router (192.168.0.254) gives pongs, nothing is lost, and time is < 1 ms almost always (sometimes it says 1 or 2 ms). This is the case also during the disconnects.

  I have a lovely ancient ergonomic keyboard (no name SK - 6000) connected via a DIN-ps/2 adapter to a ps/2-usb adapter to my docking station. After Grub it stops working. It takes either suspending and waking up or replugging it while Linux is running to get it to work. No extra kernel modules get loaded for this. When it works and I restart without power off, it will work immediately. The only information I have been able to find out is about libraries (GSON) and needing to use dx but I am using Eclipse so that doesn't help. To make this more difficult, the error does NOT occur on the Android Market. Yet the testers at Amazon say that it FC 5/5 times on each of their devices (I tried using an emulator for their test devices and they worked fine). I know they use "wrapper" code around my app and I think it must be interfering in some way. Does anyone have any experience with this?

• Dell Vostro 3560 bluetooth doesn't work

  I installed the wireless driver using this instruction How do I install BCM43142 wireless drivers for Dell Vostro 3460/3560 and I have WiFi working. No problems here. But unfortunately the bluetooth doesn't work. The ubuntu bar shows the bluetooth sign and I can turn the bluetooth on/off but I can't discover any devices. And I can't find my laptop when I turn visibility On. So, obviously bluetooth doesn't work. I couldn't find the reports that blutooth can actually work with this adapter in Ubuntu. So, my question is: Is there anyone with BCM43142 adapter that have bluetooth working? Thank You in advance. PS. Ubuntu 12.10 x64 Update: After some fiddling around with different drivers from different sources I managed to get bluetooth working. Not flawlessly but at least I can pair a device. Bluetooth started working after installation of this package bt-bcm43142-onereic_0.0+20111116somerville2_amd64.deb Originally I found this package on the disk with Ubuntu which came with the Laptop. What this package does, it installs a firmware loader and a firmware itself. This firmware needs to get bluetooth working. Still bluetooth sometimes doesn't work even with this package. • Why does my laptop resume immediately after suspend?

  I seem to be having some problem with suspend mode. Every time I try to suspend my laptop, it just locks the screen. Or maybe it successfully suspends just to resume only an instant after. Application data masking does the following: De-identify the data:  Scramble identifiers of individuals, also known as personally identifiable information or PII.  Examples include information such as name, account, address, location, and driver's license number. Mask sensitive data:  Mask data that, if associated with personally identifiable information (PII), would cause privacy concerns.  Examples include compensation, health and employment information.   Maintain data validity:  Provide a fully functional application.  How can EBS customers use data masking?
