• How can I get the name of the uploaded file in HTML::Mason?

  Recently I've been trying to get some files uploaded on to my server in my HTML::Mason application. All good, no problems there. Apparently Mason returns a filehandle directly in the argument. The problem is that I cannot retrieve the filename from that filehandle in a elegant way. One method of resolving this issue is parsing the filename on the client before sending it to the server and placing the extracted value in a hidden field so that it gets sent upon submit. BUT that is very unsafe!

• How to create a high quality icon for my Windows application?

  If you are running Windows with a higher DPI setting you will notice that most application icons on the desktop look terrible. Even high profile application icons such as Google Chrome look terrible while for example Firefox, Skype and MS Office icons look sharp: (example) I suspect that most icons look blurry because a lower resolution icon is scaled up rather than using a higher resolution icon. I want to give my application a high quality icon and can't seem to convince Windows to use the higher resolution icon. I have created a multi-resolution icon with the free icon editor IcoFX. The icon is provided in 16x16, 24x24, 32x32,48x48, 128x128 and 256x256 (!) (all in 32 bit including alpha channel) yet Windows seems to use the 128x128 version of the icon on the desktop and scale it up which looks terrible. (I am using Windows 7 - 64 bit - the icon is placed by means of setting up a shortcut in the msi (created via Visual Studio 2008 Setup Project) and pointing it to the .ico file that contains the multi-resolution icon) I have tried removing the 128x128 icon but to no avail. Interestingly in Windows Explorer the icon looks great even when using the Extra Large Icon setting. How can I create a high quality desktop icon that looks great on higher DPI settings on Windows?

• Is there a way to add name/value functionality to jquery autocomplete for .net?

  I've recently added the JQuery autocomplete plug in and have a textbox that autocompletes a list of employees. It works great and I commend the authors of the plugin. I think the textbox would be MUCH more useful though, when upon selecting, we can extract the StaffID (Ie. retreive the value of the selection). My code is below and you can see that I am simply adding the staff names, would be nice to associate IDs. Does anyone know of any way to do this? • Maven: How to create assembly with snapshot artifacts without timestamps file name?

  I've a repository containing snapshot artifacts with timestamps. I want to create an assembly, that contains the dependencies. This works fine. But the artifact names contains the timestamp. So i wonder how to remove the timestamp from filename for the assembly only. I've used this dependencySet: <outputFileNameMapping>${artifact.artifactId}-${artifact.version}.${artifact.extension}</outputFileNameMapping> But version seams to contain already the timestamp. So is there any chance to get a 1.1.1-SNAPSHOT instead of 1.1.1-20100323.071348-182?

More specifically, I would allow updates through a PUT on the resource, but what should I allow in the body of the PUT request? Always the complete structure of the resource? Always the subpart (that changed) of the structure of the resource? A combination of both? For example, take the resource http://example.org/api/v1/dogs/packs/p1. • Adding an attachment to a .NET Email

  How do I attach a file with a very unfriendly name (like a file with a session Id number in it) but have it attached as another name?The file has the session ID in it to avoid clashes name on the web server nut when I attach it to the file, a friendlier name is preferable. Is there a way to attach the file with teh unfriendly name as anotehr name so that when the user gets the email he can tell from the name what the content of the file is? I'd hate to have to create a unique folder just to put a common file name in it for the purpose of simply attaching it to an email.   I have following two tables:- Table1 ------------- ID Name 1 A 2 B 3 C Table2 -------- ID Name 1 Z I need to insert data from Table1 to Table2 and I can use following sytax for the same:- INSERT INTO Table2(Id, Name) SELECT Id, Name FROM Table1 However, In my case duplicate Ids might exist in Table2 (In my case Its Just "1") and I dont want to copy that again as that would throw an error. I can write something like this:- IF NOT EXISTS(SELECT 1 FROM Table2 WHERE Id=1) INSERT INTO Table2 (Id, name) SELECT Id, name FROM Table1 ELSE INSERT INTO Table2 (Id, name) SELECT Id, name FROM Table1 WHERE Table1.Id<>1 Is there a better way to do this without using IF - ELSE? I want to avoid two INSERT INTO-SELECT statements based on some condition. Any help is appreciated.

• Spark View Engine: How to set default master page name?

  I use Spark View Engine with nested master pages. I have Application.spark which defines the basic layout of the website. Then there are several other masters which themselves use Application.spark as master page (Default.spark, SinlgeColumn.spark, Gallery.spark, ...) If no master page is specified in a view file, then automatically Application.spark is choosen by the Spark View Engine. Since almost all my pages use "Default.spark" as master, is there a way to configure this globally? The other possibilities would be: Set the master in each spark file individually <use master="Default" />. But that's really annoying. Rename my master files (Default.spark <- Application.spark) but that really doesn't make any sense in naming.

Please verify the EndpointIdentity specified or implied by the EndpointAddress correctly identifies the remote endpoint.   I am trying to write a custom script that will keep a list of strings in a textarea. Each line of the textarea will be a row from a table. The problem I have is how to work the script to allow for adding, updating, or deleting rows based on a submit. So, for instance, I currently have 3 rows in the database: john sue mark I want to be able to delete sue and add richard and it will delete the row with sue and insert a row for richard.   I am trying to put a series of comboboxes in a grid and then I bind them to a list. For some reason unknown to me when I click the open button on the combobox nothing happens. If I move a comobobox outside the grid it opens just fine. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong here. It has to be something stupid because I've used comoboxes before just fine. • Tomcat 403 error after LDAP authentication.

  I'm currently trying to use an LDAP server to authenticate users who are trying to access our Tomcat setup. I believe I have managed to get the LDAP authentication working in the form of a JNDI realm call from Tomcat, but immediately after the user enters their password Tomcat starts throwing 403 (permission denied) errors for everything except from the root page (ttp://localhost:1337/). I have no idea why this is happening.   I scraped a bunch of pages using wget -m -k -E. The resulting files have names in the form foo.php?bar.html. Apache guesses everything after the ? is a query string, is there a way to tell it to ignore the ? as the query string delimiter (and see foo.php?bar.html as the requested file and not foo.php)? To save you a trip to wget manpage: -m : mirror recursively -E : foo.php?bar becomes foo.php?bar.html -k : convert links in pages (foo.php?bar now links to foo.php?bar.html inside of all the pages so they display properly)

  I have two classes, call them Monkey and Banana, with a one-to-many bidirectional relationship. Monkey monkey = new Monkey(); Banana banana = new Banana(); monkey.Bananas.Add(banana); banana.Monkey = monkey; hibernateService.Save(banana); When I run that chunk of code, I want both monkey and banana to be persisted. However, it's only persisting both when I explicitly save the monkey and not vice versa. Initially, this made sense since only my Monkey.hbm.xml had a mapping with cascade="all". <set name="Bananas" inverse="true" cascade="all"> <key column="Id"/> <one-to-many class="Banana"/> </set> I figured I just needed to add the following to my Banana.hbm.xml file: <many-to-one name="Monkey" column="Id" cascade="all" /> Unfortunately, this resulted in a Parameter index is out of range error when I tried to run the snippet of code. I investigated this error and found this post, but I still don't see what I'm doing wrong. I have the relationship mapped once on each side as far as I can tell.
