• Why is SQL Server Compact Edition missing from the list of server types in SQL Server Management Stu

  I have both 'SQL Server Compact 3.5 Service Pack 1' and 'SQL Server Management Studio 2008' (SSMS) installed on my PC. In the past, I was able to select 'SQL Server Compact Edition' from the list of 'Server Types' in the 'Connect to Server' dialog within SSMS. This entry is now missing and I have not been able to restore it.

• DateTimePicker replacement that "respects" e.g. the CurrentUICulture

  Apparently the DateTimePicker does not "respect" or adhere to the CurrentUICulture of a .NET application, because DateTimePicker is a "Native" Common-control with a .NET wrapper (I think). I have a requirement to display "AM/PM" regardless of the regional settings of the PC running my .NET Winforms application. I would rather not re-implement my own DateTimePicker control, which adheres to the CurrentIUCulture. So does anybody know of a work-around or have a link to DateTimePicker control re-implementation?

  I installed Python 3.1 yesterday on my Windows Vista PC, and was surprised to find that the version of IDLE is 2.6.4, for "Python 2.6.4 (r264:75708, Oct 26 2009, 08:23:19) [MSC v.1500 32 bit (Intel)] on win32" I was hoping to use IDLE to investigate some of the new features of Python 3... I guess I'm stuck with the command line... Anyone know what's up with Python 3's IDLE? Thanks

• Large data processing in x86 C# gives System.OutOfMemory exception

  I am processing XML coming from server which contains both images and data in one C# function (compiled 32 bit). When I try to parse this xml in memory it gives me System.OutOfMemory exception. Is there any way to avoid this error? My guess is, system cannot find contiguous block of 50-100MB memory. (my pc hv 8Gig ram and its quad core)

• Quickest way to find the oldest file in a directory using Delphi

  HI We have a large number of remote computers that capture video onto disk drives. Each camera has it's own unique directory and there can be up to 16 directories on any one disk. I'm trying to locate the oldest video file on the disk but using FindFirst/FindNext to compare the File Creation DateTime takes forever. Does anybody know of a more efficient way of finding the oldest file in a directory? We remotely connect to the pc's from a central HO location. Regards, Pieter

• Soap Delphi Client end with a timeout for a 1MB call

  Hi, we are developing a SOAP webservice (Apache/PHP). All run well for small size calls, but with a 1Mb soap call (the HTTPS call size is 1MB) our Delphi Soap client stop with a timeout on all PC but one, and our PHP clients run well with a default_socket_timeout=300, but stop with a "Error Fetching http headers" with default_socket_timeout=60. How can we change the timeout for Delphi? In fact this timeout seem to be in a Windows XP network library (wininet.dll called by soaphttptrans.pas) Thanks Cédric

  I have netbeans 6.8 with java ME platform setup on my ubuntu 9.10. My code requires the package org.netbeans.microedition.lcdui which is either not installed or not in the path. Is this the most optimum way? If not, how do i profile the boot-up sequence (with timing) with minimum overhead?
