    Hi folks, i have a simple aspx page.   • Searching in Xcode not finding results (searching my source)

    I'm pulling my hair out on this and Google results are skewed since it thinks I want to find out how to code something. My problem is that when trying to search my code with the String Matching box it finds nothing, even if I enter something that is on the screen below. Is it Spotlight that is delivering these results? I'm not excluding anything in my Spotlight index so should I just rebuild the index? Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • QueryReadStore loads JSON into DataGrid, but JsonRestStore does not (from the same source)

    I'm building a Dojo DataGrid from JSON data provided by my REST interface. The DataGrid loads the data fine using a QueryReadStore, but doesn't seem to work with the same same data piped into a JsonRestStore. I'm using the following Dojo libs with Dojo 1.4.1: dojo.require("dojox.data.JsonRestStore"); dojo.require("dojox.grid.DataGrid"); dojo.require("dojox.data.QueryReadStore"); dojo.require("dojo.parser"); I declare my stores in the following manner: var storeJRS = new dojox.data.JsonRestStore({target:"api/collaborations.php/1", idAttribute: 'items[].id'}); var storeQRS = new dojox.data.QueryReadStore({url:"api/collaborations.php/1", requestMethod:"get"}); I create my grid layout like this: var gridLayout = [ new dojox.grid.cells.RowIndex({ name: "Row #", width: 5, styles: "text-align: left;" }), { name: "Name", field: "name", styles: "text-align:right;", width:20 }, { name: "Description", field: "description", width:30 } ]; I create my DataGrid as follows: The above works, but if I use QueryReadStore as my store, the grid is created with the headers (Name, Description), but it isn't populated with any rows: <div dojoType="dojox.grid.DataGrid" jsid="grid3" store="storeQRS" structure="gridLayout" style="height:500px; width:1000px;"></div> Using FireBug, I can see that QueryReadStore is getting my JSON data from my REST interface. I have built an if/then interface allowing the user to set conditions for certain outcomes, however it is inefficient to use the switch statement to control the flow. How can I improve the efficiency of my code?   • How do programmers work together on a project?

    Hello, I've always programmed alone, I'm still a student so I never programmed with anyone else, I haven't even used a version control system before. I'm working on a project now that requires knowledge of how programmers work together on a piece of software in a company. How is the software compiled? Is it from the version control system? Is it by individual programmers? Is it periodic? Is it when someone decides to build or something? Are there any tests that are done to make sure it "works"? Anything will do. Thanks.

  • Why can't I Bind a viewmodel property to a dependency property of a custom control

    I want to use a color picker in my wpf application and I saw a nice looking one on this codeproject page. The control works fine until I want to connect the control to a viewmodel. I created a small test program with this viewmodel: public class ColorViewModel : ViewModelBase { public ColorViewModel() { LineColor = Brushes.Yellow; } SolidColorBrush _brushColor; public SolidColorBrush LineColor { get { return _brushColor; } set { _brushColor = value; RaisePropertyChanged(() => LineColor); } } } The test program has a textbox and the colorpicker controls: <StackPanel Orientation="Horizontal"> <TextBlock Text="Please Select a Color" FontWeight="Bold" Margin="10" Foreground="{Binding Path=LineColor, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"/> <vw:ColorPickerControlView x:Name="ForeColorPicker" Margin="10" CurrentColor="{Binding Path=LineColor, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged }"/> </StackPanel> In the loaded event of the window I set the viewmodel to the datacontext like this: DataContext = new ColorViewModel(); The problem is that I can't seem to bind the LineColor property of the viewmodel to the CurrentColor property of the ColorPickerControlView. The CurrentControl property of the ColorPickerControlView seems to be fine. The constructor looks like this: public ColorPickerControlView() { this.DataContext = this; InitializeComponent(); CommandBindings.Add(new CommandBinding(SelectColorCommand, SelectColorCommandExecute)); } In the constructor of the UserControl there is the line this.DataContext = this; I read that is is necessary to bind the dependency properties. Do I override this line when I set my viewmodel to the datacontext and is that why I can't bind to the CurrentColor property? Is there any workaround? Or did I make another mistake?

Notes: I've already found SLOCCount which seems quite nice. It requires Cygwin. Yes, I can wrote a simple script for basic information but I'm looking for something more complex.   • A tool to find and fix incomplete source code documentation

    I have several finished, older PHP projects with a lot of includes that I would like to document in javadoc/phpDocumentor style. While working through each file manually and being forced to do a code review alongside the documenting would be the best thing, I am, simply out of time constraints, interested in tools to help me automate the task as much as possible. The tool I am thinking about would ideally have the following features: Parse a PHP project tree and tell me where there are undocumented files, classes, and functions/methods (i.e. elements missing the appropriate docblock comment) Provide a method to half-way easily add the missing docblocks by creating the empty structures and, ideally, opening the file in an editor (internal or external I don't care) so I can put in the description. Optional: Automatic recognition of parameter types, return values and such. But that's not really required. The language in question is PHP, though I could imagine that a C/Java tool might be able to handle PHP files after some tweaking. Thanks for your great input!

  • Publishing artifacts with sources on archiva

    At work I'm dipping my toes in managing project dependencies with maven. We use Apache Archiva (1.2.1) as a local repository and proxy. I'm adding artifact for open source project, that is not published on any public repository. I've learned that to publish the sources I should use the Classifier field on Upload artifact page. The sources are then listed alongside the jar and pom when I browse the repository. But when I update my maven dependencies I get only the jar and pom from the repository. I noticed that sources are also missing when the archiva proxies for me the downloads from other public repositories. I didn't find any configuration options in Archiva's admin pages to serve the sources... What am I missing? Update: I was missing the fact that artifact sources have to be downloaded manually. I.e. the maven client has to request them, which is controlled by command line option -DdownloadSources=true. Maven Integration for Eclipse has a preference setting to always download them as described in Resolving artifact sources. Archiva then serves the sources for local artifacts or proxies the request to remote repositories and caches the sources for future requests.

  • Loading and storing encryption keys from a config source

    I am writing an application which has an authenticity mechanism, using HMAC-sha1, plus a CBC-blowfish pass over the data for good measure. This requires 2 keys and one ivec. I have looked at Crypto++ but the documentation is very poor (for example the HMAC documentation). So I am going oldschool and use Openssl. Whats the best way to generate and load these keys using library functions and tools ? I don't require a secure-socket therefore a x.509 certificate probably does not make sense, unless, of-course, I am missing something. So, do I need to write my own config file, or is there any infrastructure in openssl for this ? If so, could you direct me to some documentation or examples for this.

  • Any good source of explanatory documentation on ColorMatrix?

    I'd like to try using ColorMatrix, but am only able to find examples that convert an image to grayscale. And even then, they tend to be presented as a chunk of 'magic numbers' code with no explanation. Does anyone know of a 'tutorial' on how to use ColorMatrix? For example I'd be interested in converting a grayscale image to a color image, where white == transparent, and black = a solid color, with gray pixels somewhere in between. Could ColorMatrix do that?

  • asp:Menu Not working on webhost

    I'm using Visual Studio Web Express 2008 to develop an ASP.Net website. I have a master page that every page inherits from and on that master page I have the asp:menu control. On my local machine the menu control works just fine. The javascript is emitted and the links work as well. However, when I upload it to my webhost service provider, the javascript is not emitted and my links do not work. I'm getting a feeling that my service provider really doesn't know much about .Net as they suggested that I make sure that I upload the .js files which isn't necessary. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can give them? They're asking me what requirements are needed. It seems to me that something is not setup on their server properly but according to them, they have .Net 3.5 SP1 installed.
