    Hi, I am using the jQuery plugin idTabs [ [www.sunsean.com/idTabs][1] ] and it allows me to line tabs and tabs' content via element#id and element href="#id" Ok, so I use this snippet: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $("#requestPool").idTabs(); $(".tabs").idTabs(); $(".miniTabs").idTabs(".active"); $(".switchers").idTabs(".activePanel"); }); </script> To run the plugin on two different areas: div#requestPool this has it's own tabs and it's own tab content, Also the div.tabs which is another place and has it's own tabs and it's own tabs content. The div.miniTabs and div.switchers are the divs that includes the tabs links (tabs headers) and I putted them in the snippet to change the default selected tab class from .selected to .active and .activePanel Now, what I would love to add is a nice fadeIn and fadeOut effects to the content of my tabs while browsing through them.     Hi, My friend's account for some Facebook game was suspended on the grounds that he had Greasemonkey installed on his browser. He is asked to uninstall Greasemonkey and account has been restored. My question is how can a web server detect a client side plugin presence? I assume that Greasemonkey or greasemonkey scripts operate on the client side only so it would not be possible for the server to detect it. Thanks.

  • creating a Menu from SQLite values in Java

    I am trying to create a ListMenu using data from an SQLite database to define the name of each MenuItem. So in a class called menu.java I have defined the array String classes [] = {}; which should hold each menu item name. In a DBAdapter class I created a function so the user can insert info to a table (This all works fine btw). public long insertContact(String name, String code, String location, String comments, int days, int start, int end, String type) { ContentValues initialValues = new ContentValues(); initialValues.put(KEY_NAME, name); initialValues.put(KEY_CODE, code); initialValues.put(KEY_LOCATION, location); initialValues.put(KEY_COMMENTS, comments); initialValues.put(KEY_DAYS, days); initialValues.put(KEY_START, start); initialValues.put(KEY_END, end); initialValues.put(KEY_TYPE, type); return db.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, initialValues); } It would be the Strings inserted into KEY_NAME that I need to populate that String array with. Does anyone know if this is possible? Thanks so much for the help guys. If I implement that function by Sam/Mango the program crashes, am I using it incorrectly or is the error due to the unknown size of the array? DBAdapter db = new DBAdapter(this); String classes [] = db.getClasses(); edit: I should mention that if I manually define the array: String classes [] = {"test1", "test2", "test3", etc}; It works fine. The error is a NullPointerException Here's the logcat (sorry about the formatting).   • C# Assembly.GetTypes() - ReflectionTypeLoadException

    We implement a plugin framework for our application and load plugin assemblies using Assembly.Loadfrom. We then use GetTypes() and further examine the types with each plugin file for supported Interfaces. A path for the plugins is provided by the user and we cycle through each of the files in the folder to see if it (the plugin) supports our plugin interface. If it does, we create an instance, if not we move onto the next file. We build two versions of software from the one code base (appA_1 and appA_2). Loading the plugins works well when the plugins are loaded by the application that was built at the same time as the plugin file. However if we build appA_2 and point to the plugin folder of appA_1, we get an exception when GetTypes() is called. A basic version of our code is; var pluginAssembly = Assembly.LoadFrom(FileName); foreach (var pluginType in pluginAssembly.GetTypes()) { We get a "ReflectionTypeLoadException" exception. This is concerning because we want our application to be able to load the types of any plugin, built by anyone. Is there something we are missing?

    I'm working on upgrading my project from CakePHP 1.2 to 1.3. In the process, it seems that the "magic" routing for plugins by which a controller name (e.g.: "ForumsController") matching the plugin name (e.g.: "forums") no longer automatically routes to the root of the plugin URL (e.g.: "www.example.com/forums" pointing to plugin "forums", controller "forums", action "index"). The error message given is as follows: Error: ForumsController could not be found. Error: Create the class ForumsController below in file: app/controllers/forums_controller.php <?php class ForumsController extends AppController { var $name = 'Forums'; } ?> In fact, even if I navigate to "www.example.com/forums/forums" or "www.example.com/forums/forums/index", I get the same exact error. Do I need to explicitly set up routes to every single plugin I use? This seems to destroy a lot of the magic I like about CakePHP. I've only found that doing the following works: Router::connect('/forums/:action/*', array('plugin' => 'forums', 'controller' => 'forums')); Router::connect('/forums', array('plugin' => 'forums', 'controller' => 'forums', 'action' => 'index')); Setting up 2 routes for every single plugin seems like overkill, does it not? Is there a better solution that will cover all my plugins, or at least reduce the number of routes I need to set up for each plugin?

    What should a teen dev do for practical experience? If you want more details , then read on: I learnt programming when I was 9 , with GWBASIC (which I now hate) , which was what was taught @ school. That was done in a month. After that I learnt C++ and relearnt it (as I didn't know of templates and the STL before that) Recently I learnt PHP , SQL and Python. This was around the time I switched over to Ubuntu. I'd always loved the "GNUish" style of software development so I jumped right in. However , most of the projects that I found required extensive knowledge of their existing codebase. So , right now I'm this guy who knows a couple of languages and has written a couple of small programs ... but hasn't gone "big", if you get it. I would love suggestions of projects that are informal and small to medium sized , and do not require much knowledge of the codebase. Also note that I've looked at things like Google Summer of Code and sites like savannah.gnu.org and the first doesn't apply , since I'm still in school and the latter either has infeasable projects , or things that are too hard.

    I know there are jQuery cookie plugins out there, but I wanted to write one for the sake of better learning the jQuery plugin pattern. I like the separation of "work" in small, manageable functions, but I feel like I'm passing name, value, and options arguments around too much. Is there a way this can be refactored? I'm looking for snippets of code to help illustrate examples provided with in answers. Any help is appreciated.   • Facebook canvas app showing wordpress blog in iframe - how to link to specific pages?

    Sorry for the cumbersome title. I have a Facebook canvas app that is call up a Wordpress site in an iFrame. This is fine and works as hoped but is there a way to link directly to a page within it? For example the page I want to reach is actually: www.blog.com/monkeys/ But I want to be able to use a link like this: www.facebook.com/monkeyblogapp/app_243495067635997/monkeys/ So that I can give out that URL and get people to see the right bit of content but within the Facebook environment. I have seen people mention callback urls (like this one which as far as I can tell just means having the app addresses match the website Direct links to pages in Facebook iFrame application?) but that doesn't work.   • How do I fix a corrupted harddrive after failed upgrade?

    The problem originated when I was trying to fix this problem. Things went horribly, horribly wrong and I ended up with a new problem altogether. The last thing I did was run sudo apt-get install and that caused my system to freeze. I restarted my computer and it would not boot from the harddrive. I ran a copy of Ubuntu 12.10 from a flashdrive that I had and ran gparted to see if my partitions were all there. It returned this message: Invalid partition table on /dev/sda -- wrong signature 5208. The drive appeared as a 2TiB unallocated drive with an error. The drive had 4 partitions before (plus random unallocated space). There was a fat32 partition, an ext4 partition which contained ubuntu 13.04/13.10 (I don't even know which one at this point), an extended partition which contained a swap partition for my ubuntu partition (I was meaning to move that ubuntu partition into the extended partition, never got around to it), and another partition (I don't remember how I formatted it). I should also mention this is a 1TB harddrive. So in short, I have a corrupted partition table on my primary harddrive from which I boot from, how can I fix this?
