• On Android, click to expand list -and- click on a button?

  I have just started my career as an android programmer, and am currently relying heavily on the sample code and api examples. I have been working with this api example, to produce an expandable list of items (note this example does not use the ExpadableListView). In playing with the example, I tried to add another widget that would become visible and be gone at the same time as the text (mDialogue in the sample code). This works well with another TextView, but as soon as I tried to add a button widget, it stopped working. The list would expand on first click, showing my hidden TextView and Button, but it will not disappear on further clicks. The button is however, clickable, and I was able to set up an onClick listener to change the button text back and forth. I'm starting to wonder, is it just not possible to have a clickable item inside a clickable list item? Or is there some kind of work around? Would it solve my problem if I used ExpandableListView?

Is there a way to use the Layout helper to achieve this?   Hi, How can we update the View of a Home Screen Widget on the onReceive method of AppWidgetProvider?. I am trying to update the TextView of my Home screen widget but it seems that I cant access the TextView of my AppWidgetProvider on onReceive method. • Best way to style GWT widgets in a library

  I'm developing some widgets into a library for internal use at the company I work for. I don't know what's the recommended way to style the widgets. There are at least these ways: use Widget.setPrimaryStyleName and let the user provide an external css. We use maven archetypes to build applications so we can provide default styles. Anyway I don't like it very much. use the GWT 2.0 CssResourceBundle. So we can compile the CSS into the module and it will be optimized (and it can be browser-dependant too). provide a module with the styling. Something like the default GWT themes. But I don't know how exactly this works. I want to: make the components as cohesive as I can (don't depend on externally included css's) leave open the door to modify styles (if I want to change the way some widget looks in a concrete application). What's your experience in this subject?

• What is the best hosting option for Flash web-widget?

  Our Flash web-widget has got highly popular. It is downloaded around 100,000 times per day. And that is the problem. Our server bandwidth is too narrow to deliver the widget to the clients fast. The widget is loaded very slow. Probably 20 times slower than before (at peak times). Probably I have choosen not the right hoster for my task - delivering 1 MB Flash widget to 100,000 users per day. What is the best hosting solution in my case? I'm not good at server administration so forgive me if I sound naive. The details are the following. Our hoster options: -Dedicated server, Ubuntu -10 Mbit Connection -monthly bandwidth limit: 2000 GB Widget size is 1 MB. The widget consists of the main SWF and a number of loaded SWF and data files.   Hi I'm stuck on a problem and if possible I will need help from the community. I'm not looking for a ready-made solution, but something which would help me to produce the result. I'm looking for a way to produce a dynamic activity based on a JSON object. Here an example of a JSON object: [ { "name": "my checkbox name", "type": "checkbox", "value": "one,two,three" } { "name": "my edit text", "type": "text", "value": "" } ...] This JSONObject could be totally random. I could have 2 text views, 3 select menus, 1 text view and so on. The goal is to iterate over this JSONObject and create the appropriate elements within my android code. To produce the result I've thought of a simple switch which would render one by one my different JSONObject to an android widget. But after that how could I have access of every property of every widget rendered? Thank you.

The 1st row just consists of a blank ImageView as a placeholder and an EditText to enter text. • gwt rounded panel (standards based widget akin to DecoratorPanel)

  I'm trying to write an app that uses rounded corners for framing the app. I've found a package on google code that has a RoundedLinePanel and it seems to work... kind of. I'm wondering a few things. Is this what people are using for creating divs with round corners in GWT? The release notes say it hasn't changed in almost a year. Also, I can't seem to set a fixed height of this div (setHeight sets it on the wrapper div, not the inner one). so it's not useful to me as I have a fixed height app. Finally, if anyone can suggest a better mechanism for creating rounded corner divs in GWT I'm all ears.

• Domain transfer from Yahoo to Godaddy. Google apps downtime

  I am moving my domain from Yahoo to Godaddy (cause yahoo charges ridiculously hugh amounts than others). My problem is I use this domain for Google apps and one of those is my custom email. So here are a few questions that I have - 1) Godaddy told me there is going to be a 48 hours of downtime. Is there anything that I can do to minimize the downtime? 2) Will I lose all the email that I get during this downtime? or they be stored in the cloud and bulk emailed me once my domain is up with Godaddy? If they are lost is there any workaround to forward them to my gmail during the downtime (i know sounds stupid, but I have to ask). Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

• Google and Yahoo redirect my site to malware, but direct url works fine. Any computer

  I can go directly to the site doublewing.org or www. without issue, but if I click on the link in google or yahoo it redirects to spam sites. Swagbucks works though! This is not on a single computer this happens on systems isolated from each other(Try it, avast blocks it) . The site is runing joomla 1.5.25 . I deleted .htacces, put fresh index.php and index2.php files. and still get the same results. Any ideas?

• Why did Google remove the search box in developer tool from Chrome 22 stable release?

  In previous version of Chrome, there's the search box in developer tool, on the right top when I open it, just as shown below. (Sorry I can't upload image cuz' I don't have enough reputation for now.) http://i.minus.com/iklSx2vi0uzFB.JPG But, after I upgraded to the first release of Chrome 22 yesterday, that search box was gone, as shown below. http://i.minus.com/ibxXt9wnBekR7E.JPG It is such a useful search box that I rely on all the time, to search for something, or to validate an xpath. So does Google just 'hide' it somewhere else? Or do they really remove it? Anyone know why they made such changes?

• Restricted blogspot account. Unable to subscribe using Google Reader?

  I used blogspot.com and restricted its viewership to just its authors. However I cannot use Google Reader to subscribe to the RSS feed. Is there a workaround? I need to be notified somehow whenever somebody posts to that private blog. I am one of its authors. My blogspot.com allows me to set the readership to just its authors. So that is what I have done. I did not do any password protect settings at all.

• Issue with user having a gmail account and Google Apps account using same email/username

  Greetings! We have a user in our organization that had been using her email address at our domain at her username for gmail.com We recently moved our folks on to Google Apps, and have just moved our email server over to Google (IMAP/SMTP). I'm having all kinds of trouble only with this user's account with her sending and receiving email via the new Google mail server and wondering if it's because of her existing Gmail account. So her email address with us is [email protected], which is her login/user id with us on our Google Apps site. She still has her gmail identity tied to that same [email protected]. She's ok with deleting her old Gmail account...if I do so however will it goof things up for her going forward with us on the Google Apps site? Will she not be able to receive email? Thanks! Joshua

• How to disable or edit Google Chrome Developer Tools shortcut?

  There is a shortcut in the Google Chrome Developer Tools which happen to trigger every times I try to type the [ or ] character in the console. The shortcut in question probably is Alt+[, Alt+^ or [ and it moves the tabs (of the Chrome Developer Tools) to the last selected one. This shortcut is simply blocking me from typing the [ or ] in the console and I want to either disable it or edit it to something else. How can I edit or disable that shortcut ? Note : I'm not really using the shortcut in the developers tools, so if it's only possible to disable all shortcut it would be a viable solution.

  Google Chrome doesn't seem to respect my dpi-setting in Windows. i run at 150 dpi, but Chrome ignores that; meaning that images and text are teeeeeeny tiny. i hit Ctrl + + Ctrl + + to zoom in. Unfortunatly every new tab, or new window, defaults to the 100% teeny tiny zoom level. Is it possible for either: Chrome to respect my Windows dpi setting? Chrome to remember my zoom preference?   I was wondering, what is considered the best statistic information from Google Analytics for website optimalisation? Example 1: Alot of visitors leave the website on a specific page, this could be because there aren't enough forwards / links on that page so that the visitors don't see a reason to continue their travel on the website. Example 2: Your traffic sources are 70% direct visits, 28% redirects from other websites and 2% by search engine. You could say that your website is not easily findable in search engines which could be interpreted as a sign that your keywords and/or meta description aren't good enough to be found. I'd like to hear some from other people!

• How do I directly add/pin web page to Google Chrome jump list?

  Sometimes I want to (easily) add the link for a web page I'm viewing with Google Chrome to Chome's Windows 7 jump list. Is there a way to do this? I have tried dragging the bookmark/star to the left of the URL in the address bar onto Chrome's jump list, but this doesn't seem to "take". The only way I have found that works is rather kludgey. If I close the tab for the page I want to add then it shows up in the jump list under "Recently Closed". I can then pin the link to the jump list. It would be nice to have a way to add a web page to the jump list without first having to close it.
