  • How to start AJAX in Zend?

    I am working on some projects as a developer(PHP,MySQL) in which AJAX and jQuery is already implemented. But now I want to learn implementation of AJAX and jQuery stuff. Can anyone tell me the exact steps with explanation? I have created a project in Zend. There is only one controller(IndexController) and two actions(a and b) in my project now. Now I want to use ajax in my project. But I don't know how to start. I read some tutorial but unable to completely understand. I have index.phtml like this: <a href='index/a'>Load info A</a> <br/> <a href='index/b'>Load info B</a> <br /> <div id=one>load first here<div> <div id=two>load second here</div> Here index is controller in links. a and b are actions. now I have four files like this: a1.phtml I am a1 a2.phtml I am a2 b1.phtml I am b1 b2.phtml I am b2 I think you have got my point. When user clicks first link (Load info A) then a1.phtml should be loaded into div one and a2.phtml should be loaded into div two When user clicks second link (Load info B) then b1.phtml should be loaded into div one and b2.phtml should be loaded into div two And someone tell me the purpose of JSON in this process and how to use this also?     Generally, I am bulding dynamic SQL statement that is executing using sp_executsql like this: EXEC sp_executesql @TempSQLStatement I need to insert the return result row set in something (table variable or temporary table), but I am getting the following error: Msg 208, Level 16, State 0, Line 1746 Invalid object name '#TempTable'. after executing this: INSERT INTO #TempTable EXEC sp_executesql @TempSQLStatement From what I have read, I believe the issue is caused because I am not specifying the columns of the temporary table, but I am not able to do this because the return columns count varies. I have read that I can use global temporary tables, but I have done this before and wonder is there an other way to do that.

Where am I going wrong ?

    I am currently in the planning stages of a game for google app engine, but cannot wrap my head around how I am going to handle AI. I intend to have persistant NPCs that will move about the map, but short of writing a program that generates the same XML requests I use to control player actions, than run it on another server I am stuck on how to do it. I have looked at the Task Queue feature, but due to long running processes not being an option on the App engine, I am a little stuck. I intend to run multiple server instances with 200+ persistant NPC entities that I will need to update. Most action is slowly roaming around based on player movements/concentrations, and attacking close range players...(you can probably guess the type of game im developing)

    I have a link in my system as displayed above; 'viewauthorbooks.php?authorid=4' which works fine and generates a page displaying the books only associated with the particular author. However I am implementing another feature where the user can sort the columns (return date, book name etc) and I am using the ORDER BY SQL clause. I have this also working as required for other pages, which do not already have another query in the URI. But for this particular page there is already a paramter returned in the URL, and I am having difficulty in extending it. When the user clicks on the a table column title I'm getting an error, and the original author ID is being lost!! This is the URI link I am trying to use: <th><a href="viewauthorbooks.php?authorid=<?php echo $row['authorid']?>&orderby=returndate">Return Date</a></th> This is so that the data can be sorted in order of Return Date. When I run this; the author ID gets lost for some reason, also I want to know if I am using correct layout to have 2 parameters run in the address? Thanks.

    I am using push scene to get the next scene. But, I read that for each PushScene the scene is stored in stack. The memory usage is more. So, I am using the replaceScene in place of pushScene. But, with replace scene I am getting the memory-bad-access message in debugger. So, I want to popScene after using it, so that the retain count is zero. But, I am confused in using popScene. If I have a Scene1 and Scene2. I used the following to go in to Scene2. Now I need to remove Scene1 from stack. [[CCDirector sharedDirector] pushScene:Scene2]; Where should I write the popScene to popScene1. How to get the previous scene in current running scene ? Thank you/

Here what i am doing in the code is, when they are creating new user i am getting a max id from DB and increasing the value to 1. So that they are getting same ID. so that i am facing concurrency in this situation. How to solve this problem. I need to display different numbers when the users click on NewUser.   • Memory leak appears only when multiprocessing

    I am trying to use python's multiprocessing library to hopefully gain some performance. Specifically I am using its map function. Now, for some reason when I swap it out with its single threaded counterpart I don't get any memory leaks over time. But using the multiprocessing version of map causes my memory to go through the roof. For the record I am doing something which can easily hog up loads of memory, but what would the difference be between the two to cause such a stark difference?

    Hi, I am having SYBASE 12.5 install on my server as well as my PC, I am unable to get the correct connection string. I have used the connectionstrings.com but unable to get the correct one. After runnig and making the connection Driver={Sybase ASE ODBC Driver};srvr=server_name;database=database_name;UID=user_name;PWD=pass; and some other combination of thic connection string I am getting the Datasource ="" Driver ="" DataBase="" ServerVersion = Invalid Operation.   • Why use Entity Framework over Linq2SQL ...

    To be clear, I am not asking for a side by side comparision which has already been asked Ad Nauseum here on SO. I am also Not asking if Linq2Sql is dead as I don't care. What I am asking is this.... I am building internal apps only for a non-profit organization. I am the only developer on staff. We ALWAYS use SQL Server as our Database backend. I design and build the Databases as well. I have used L2S successfully a couple of times already. Taking all this into consideration can someone offer me a compelling reason to use EF instead of L2S? I was at Code Camp this weekend and after an hour long demonstration on EF, all of which I could have done in L2S, I asked this same question. The speakers answer was, "L2S is dead..." Very well then! NOT! (see here) I understand EF is what MS WANTS us to use in the future(see here) and that it offers many more customization options. What I can't figure out is if any of that should, or does, matter for me in this environment. One particular issue we have here is that I inherited the Core App which was built on 4 different SQL Data bases. L2S has great difficulty with this but when I asked the aforementioned speaker if EF would help me in this regard he said "No!"

    Does ColdFusion offer a mechanism for splitting CFCs into multiple files? I am NOT talking about extension, I am talking about splitting the SAME CFC into multiple files; the same way C# allows for "partial" classes. The reason for this is because I am using T4 to generate a bunch of CFCs and I want to be able to tag functionality onto the generated CFC by doing so in another file. I want to do this in a way that doesn't violate the Open-Closed Principle.

    a requirement was sent to me below: API should be in the form of static library. company xxx will link the library into a third party application to prevent any possible exposure of the code(dll) could they mean an import library? An import library is a library that automates the process of loading and using a dynamic library. On Windows, this is typically done via a small static library (.lib) of the same name as the dynamic library (.dll). The static library is linked into the program at compile time, and then the functionality of the dynamic library can effectively be used as if it were a static library. this might be what they might be eluding to.....I am not sure how to make this in vs2008 . Additional facts: I have a static lib that i use in my current application. Now, I have to convert my app that uses that static lib into an import lib so that they can use a third party prog to access the API's they providede me which in turn will use that static lib i am using. I hope I am clearly explaining this. I am just not sure how to go about it in vs2008. I am looking for specific steps to do this. I already have the coding done. Just need to convert it into the form they are asking and I have to provide the API they want. Other than that then I need to create a test prog which will act as that third party prog so I can make sure my import library works.
