  • Missing ant-javamail.jar file on Macintosh

    I've been running the built-in Ant from the command line on a Macintosh (10.5.5) and have run into some trouble with the Mail task. Running the Mail task produces the following message: [mail] Failed to initialise MIME mail: org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.email.MimeMailer This is most likely due to a missing ant-javamail.jar file in the /usr/share/ant/lib directory. I see a "ant-javamail-1.7.0.pom" file in this directory but not the appropriate jar file. Anyone know why this jar file might be missing and what the best way to resolve the problem is?

  • iPhone Developer Program - Help?

    Hi, I just signed up for the iPhone Developer Program (the $99 one), I filled it all out, was directed to the store and completed the purchase. However, when I go to the member center it says I have not completed the purchase: Your Developer Program Enrollment Status: Once you've completed your purchase, you will receive an Order Acknowledgement email from the Apple Online Store and an Activation email within 24 hours from Apple Developer Support. The email from Apple Developer Support will contain information on how to access the resources of your Program. With a link directing me to a page that adds the program to my cart in the Apple store. (A process I have already been through with a success message at the end) Is this what has happened to everyone else? Aren't I supposed to receive an email from Apple at least confirming the purchase? I have received nothing. Thanks a lot.

  • C++ STL library in XCode - memset not defined in this scope

    I am trying to create a STL based C++ library in XCode with a bunch of C++ files that I have. Basically my end output should be a shared library (dylib) that can be consumed by a Objective-C application. When trying to compile, I get the following error.. 'memset' was not declared in scope. Since my codebase uses a lot of external 3rd party codebases, I thought i'll include or to resolve this, but I tried both and even that didn't work. Does it have something to do with the SDK? Am currently running 10.5 with GCC 4.2 Need help with setting up the Target properly. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

  • Adding audio channel using ffmpeg

    Hi all, I am working on ffmpeg and trying to add a audio stream on the fly. I am using AudioQueues and I get raw audio buffer. I am encoding audio with linear PCM and hence the audio I get will be of raw format, which I know ffmpeg does accept it. But I cannot figure out how. I have looked into AVStream, where in we have to create a new stream for this audio channel but how do I encode it to a video which is already initialized in another AVStream structure. Overall, I would like to have an idea of the architecture of ffmpeg. I found it difficult to work since it is least documented. Any pointers or details are appreciated.     Hi Everyone, Say if I have a model called 'deliver' and I am using the default URL route of: # Install the default routes as the lowest priority. map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' So the deliver URL would be: http://localhost:3000/deliver/123 What I am trying to work out, is how to use another field from the database alongside or instead of the ID. For example. If I have a field in the create view called 'deliveraddress', how do I put that into the routes?   • Quartz compositions created in Snow Leopard (10.6) doesn't work in Leopard (10.5) despite testing in

    Hi I have a reasonably advanced (many patches and subpatches) quartz composition that was created in Snow Leopard but doesn't run well (many elements are not rendered) in Leopard. The composition tested OK via Quartz Composer's Test in Runtime option and works fine for both Leopard 32-bits and Leopard 64-bits (menu item "File | Test in Runtime | Leopard 32-bits". In an actual Leopard (32-bits) system, a lot of elements are not rendered in the quartz composition. Below are the log file excerpt when the composition is run in QuickTime Player under Leopard: QuickTime Player[134] *** <QCNodeManager | namespace = "com.apple.QuartzComposer" | 335 nodes>: Patch with name "/units to pixels" is missing QuickTime Player[134] *** Message from <QCPatch = 0x06D82880 "(null)">:Cannot create node of class "/units to pixels" and identifier "(null)" QuickTime Player[134] *** Message from <QCPatch = 0x06D7C130 "(null)">:Cannot create node of class "/resize image to target" and identifier "(null)" QuickTime Player[134] *** Message from <QCPatch = 0x06D7C130 "(null)">:Cannot create connection from ["outputValue" @ "Math_1"] to ["Target_Pixels" @ "Patch_2"] The patch "units to pixels" is a system patch in Snow Leopard whereas the patch "resize image to target" is a custom virtual patch located in my home directory. It seems that we can cross out problems in which the composition is referencing a missing virtual patch. I have tested the composition under another user's account and it ran fine which shows that it already embeds the "resize image to target" virtual patch that is located in my home directory. I'm really puzzled why the composition passes the Leopard Runtime test but yet fail to run in an actual Leopard OS? Is there a post-processing step that I need to run to the composition file? Is there any way to make this patch more compatible with Leopard? Thanks in advance.

  • progressIndicator does not update till about 10 seconds after awakeFromNib occures

    I have been trying to get this one section of my UI to immediatly up date when the document loads into view. The awakeFromNib fires the pasted code and then starts a timer to repeat every 10 seconds... I load a default storage location: ~/Movies... which shows up immediately.. yet the network location that is saved in the document that gets pulled from the XML only seems to show up after the second firing of the - (void)updateDiskSpaceDisplay timer. I have set breakpoints and know that the ivars that contain the values that are being put into the *fileSystemAttributes is the network location right when the awakeFromNib occurs... Im confused why it magically appears after the second time firing instead of immediately displaying the write values. - (void)updateDiskSpaceDisplay { // Obtain information about the file system used on the selected storage path.   • How to paste text from one app to another using Cocoa?

    I have read about NSPasteBoard in the Apple documentation, and how it allows for applications to write into the PasteBoard and allow other applications to read that text and use it. Could someone tell me how to paste text from am application (that sits in the status bar) into a NSTextField that is inside a different application. What I am trying to do is something similar what Snippet and SnippetsApp do. If I am completely stupid and missed the obvious in Apple Docs, could you please point me to the right path :) Thanks!

  • Could MacRuby / HotCocoa supplant the need to know Objective-C?

    I just discovered MacRuby / HotCocoa and really like the sound of what they're doing. I had essentially discounted the prospect of making Cocoa GUI applications myself because I have an aversion to spending time & effort learning yet another C-based language, Objective-C. I'm not saying it's bad, just not for me. Is it the case now, or in the probable future, that one will be able to make Cocoa GUI applications of substantial and first-class nature with MacRuby / HotCocoa alone while ignoring Objective-C completely?

  • XCode automatically deactivating breakpoints

    I'm using xcode in C++. I'm trying to debug my project, but at random intervals, it seems to ignore my breakpoints. There are three things that it does: 1) Sometimes, when I run, it automatically switches to "de-activate break points" mode. (the relevant button goes light and says "Activate") 2) Sometimes when I run, ALL of my breakpoints go "can't find" mode, with the yellow insides. I need to click twice on them to get them back dark blue (once to light blue = inactive, once to dark blue = active) 3) Sometimes, when I run, my breakpoint is dark blue, the button says "deactivate" and it still just ignores my breakpoint, running straight past it. This makes it very difficult to debug my program... I should add that I'm using XCode 3.1 beta on OSX 10.5.6, in case that matters. thanks.

    I recently installed GHC 6.12 and the Haskell Platform 2010.1.0.1 on my Intel MacBook running OS X 10.5.8, and initially, everything worked fine. However, I discovered that if I use cabal install to install a package which depends on a MacPorts library (e.g., cabal install --extra-lib-dirs=/opt/local/lib --extra-include-dirs=/opt/local/include gd), things work fine in GHCi, but if I try to compile, I get the error Linking test ... Undefined symbols: "_iconv_close", referenced from: _hs_iconv_close in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) "_iconv", referenced from: _hs_iconv in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) "_iconv_open", referenced from: _hs_iconv_open in libHSbase-4.2.0.0.a(iconv.o) ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status After some Googling, I found a long Haskell-cafe thread discussing this problem. The upshot seems to be that MacPorts installs an updated version of libiconv, and the binary interface is slightly different from the version included with the system. Consequently, if you try to link with any MacPorts library, the MacPorts libiconv gets linked in too; and since the base library was built to link against a different version of libiconv, things break. I've tried setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH and DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH and adding more flags to try to get it to look at /usr/lib again (e.g. cabal install --extra-lib-dirs=/opt/local/lib --extra-include-dirs=/opt/local/include --extra-lib-dirs=/usr/lib --extra-include-dirs=/usr/include gd), but neither worked. Uninstalling the MacPorts libiconv isn't really an option, since I have a bunch of ports installed which depend on it---including some ports I want Haskell to link to, like gd2. From what I've seen online, the upshot really seems to be "you're boned": you cannot link against any MacPorts library while compiling with GHC, and there doesn't seem to be a solution. However, that thread was from the end of 2009, so I figure there's a chance that someone has a solution, workaround, ridiculous hack… anything, really. So: does anybody know how to get GHC 6.12 to link against the system libiconv at the same time as it links to libraries from MacPorts? Or, failing that, a way to make linking not break in some other clever way?
