  • How to provide a temporary URL for custom domain in Wordpress multisite install?

    I have a website with Wordpress 3.0.4 installation, set up as multisite install. Some users register their blogs as something.mydomain.com and that works automatically. However, some users prefer to use their own domain names like something.com. This also works fine once they set up the CNAME record to point to my server. However, it takes 24-48 hours for that change to take effect. I'd like to be able to offer the user a temporary URL that would work out-of-the-box until the DNS changes are propagated, but I have not idea how to do it? For example: something.com should also be accessible as: something.tempdomain.com I have control over "tempdomain" DNS setup. I thought about replacing $_SERVER variables in index.php or .htaccess file when temporary domain is accessed, and this works for the first page load. However, all the links in generated page point to original domain which is not yet ready. UPDATE: I managed to get it working for the site itself by manipulating $_SERVER variables so Wordpress thinks it's creating a page for different site. I did this in index.php, so before any WP code is run I'm using ob_start and ob_get_contents later to get the page generated by Wordpress and then str_replace the links back to temporary domain. The problem I still have is the admin page. Even though the link says: http://site1.tempdomain.com/wp-admin when opened in browser it redirects to maindomain.com/wp-signup.php?new=site1.tempdomain I don't understand how WP detects that I supplied "fake" domain when $_SERVER vars are changed?

  • Can you pass parameters for OnAction in MS Project VBA?

    The way I can define a method to be executed with OnAction in VBA with Microsoft Project is as follows (and works correctly): .OnAction = "Macro ""DoSomething""" ... where DoSomething is the method to execute. I would like to pass a parameter to that method but can't find a way to pass it with this syntax. Does anybody have an idea how to do this? I'm getting the feeling that this is an impossible task, but maybe there's some VBA secret I'm not aware of. Please note that VBA in MS Project seems to have its quirks and is slightly different than VBA for Excel or Access. This seems to be the case for the OnAction property which needs the extra Macro keyword to work correctly. If I'm wrong here please enlighten me.

    Hi guys, I just installed xampp and I brought one of my live sites into it to be able to start working from localhost. So to view my site, I navigate to localhost/example.com I noticed some issues with images when on my html, I had for example: <img src="/new_pictures/05.jpg" alt="Central Market"/> Image wouldn't show up, but then I removed the / and this works: <img src="new_pictures/05.jpg" alt="Central Market"/> I seem to have a similar problem with the CSS background image, but I can't get it to work-if I remove the / there, the image doesn't show up on the live site. How do I make the background image show up on localhost?     Am I using TwitterScript to retrieve Twitter data for inside a Flash site. Due to Twitter's crossdomain policy, I need to setup a php proxy... Firstly I made a simple one <?php $url = $_GET['url']; readfile($url); ?> but I then get this error URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration which is only resolved by getting my host to turn fopen() on, which I don't want to do.     Hello, recently I'm writing some functions that I take from Haskell and translate into Java. One of the main problems I have is I cannot easily create a static property with a generic type.     Lets say I have a function where the parameter is passed by value instead of const-reference. Further, lets assume that only the value is used inside the function i.e. the function doesn't try to modify it. In that case will the compiler will be able to figure out that it can pass the value by const-reference (for performance reasons) and generate the code accordingly? Is there any compiler which does that?

Incorrect file. Reupload it and try again'; When I run this script, it doesn't even output an error. It just stops. It loads for a bit, and then it just stops. What should I do to avoid the exception, or what can I do to achieve the same result?

  • Can one extract model fit parameters after a ggplot stat_smooth call?

    Using stat_smooth, I can fit models to data. E.g. g=ggplot(tips,aes(x=tip,y=as.numeric(unclass(factor(tips$sex))-1))) +facet_grid(time~.) g=g+ stat_summary(fun.y=mean,geom="point") g=g+ stat_smooth(method="glm", family="binomial") I would like to know the coefficients of the glm binomial fits. I could re-do the fit with dlply and get the coefficients with ldply, but I'd like to avoid such duplication. Calling str(g) reveals the hierarchy of objects that ggplot creates, perhaps there's some way to get to the coefficients through that?

  • WPF Binding to Items within a collection? (or converter with parameters)

    i am using a WPF DataGrid, and in my Details row, i would like to show separate objects within a sub collection of each grid item. Is it possible to have a finer control of Path? for example something like... Path=SubCollection['ItemX'] etc.. also, if i was to use a converter, i don't want to have to create a separate converter for each item.. so would there be a way to supply a parameter to a converter that could than determine which collection item to return??

Assuming that I cannot, for whatever reason, initialize the tuple when it is defined, how might I get this to work when specifying the type as a reference? Specifically, I would like the tuple to be std::tuple<int> even when Args... is int&.
