  • Panic Transmit file upload

    I've ditched Coda and bought Transmit. I'm a little confused by the file uploading. I have exactly the same folder structure remotely and locally, but if I right-click a file and choose Upload "SomeFileName.html" The file is always uploaded into the root of the remote site, even if the file is in a folder. If I choose to upload a file at assets/images/some_image.png I would expect it to be uploaded to the same folder on the remote server, not the root. Coda dealt with this perfectly and also told me what files had been modified and needed uploading. Transmit doesn't seem to do either of these things. So my questions are: How can I upload a file to the same path on the remote server without having to drag and drop Is there any way to have Transmit mark edited files or upload only edited files. [There is no tag for Transmit so if someone with more rep could make and add one that would be grand]

    I have noticed many Mac applications sort the files alphabetically rather than by type. A good example would be Coda by panic.com. The files in the file menu are organized alphabetically. I requested for them to add the feature to organize files by type, and they've said that it's a Finder thing. So I looked at other applications to see if they were organizing by type. I noticed Dreamweaver CS4 had this same problem and now including Dreamweaver CS5. There has to be something in the Mac that does this and that I can modify. I played with Spotlight and it now displays its files by type (thinking that's what I can do) but it didn't take effect in other applications. What library are these applications using to display a file menu for their files? here is an example-- file menu layout of coda by panic.com. (i couldnt post another link because it wouldnt let me). can you see how everything is organised alphabetically rather than by folder? i just want the file menu to show all folders first then all the files. 1) http://www.iaddesign.com/coda.png there must be a way to modify mac to let me to do this.

  • Strange problem with ie6 messing up layout, and fixing byitself some time after loading

    We have a big ie6 layout problem with a newly launched website: in the header in our homepage, we have a coda-slider, and apparently its messing upt the wole layout of the front page. I have been looking at float and height problems but cannot seem to solve it. Also, the most strange part is that if you wait a while after loading, the layout "fixes itself". Help! The url is the following (without the spaces, sorry) w w w . r e - c r e a r t . c o m Edit: update, it sounds crazy, but if you press control and use the mouse wheel (as if you were zooming in /out in a modern browser, although ie6 doesnt do that) the layout fixes as well. Please help, I am going crazy.

  • Find & Replace - using a Regex for this?

    Hey folks. Regexs make me cry, so, I came here for help. I'm looking for some tips on Find & Replace in Panic's Coda. I know the F&R is pretty advance but I'm just looking for the best way to do this. I'm trying to rewrite a 'template engine' (very basic) I have going on with a webapp I'm coding in PHP (CodeIgniter). Currently I'm calling my template like so: $this->load->view('subviews/template/headerview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/menuview'); $this->load->view('subviews/template/sidebar'); $this->load->view('The-View-I-Want-To-Load'); // This is the important line $this->load->view('subviews/template/footerview'); However it's inefficient using five lines of code every time I want to load up a different page, in every different controller. So I rewrote it like this: $data['view'] = 'The-View-I-Want-To-Load'; $this->load->view('template',$data); That way if I need to make any major changes to the design it can easily be done from the template.php view file (which contains the header, menu, sidebar views etc. etc.). However I use the previous 5-lines all over the place in many different controllers and functions. So, my question is --- How can I find and replace the old template engine (5 lines of code) for the new one - substituting in the name of the view in the important, unique line for the one in $data['view]? Does that make any sense?! If not I'll try and rephrase! I mean, is there a way of doing this via a Regex or something? Or am I on completely the wrong lines here? Thanks for your help Jack

  • Source code not matching uploaded HTML file

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but i'm having a hugely frustrating problem with Coda and my website (i'm not sure which one is causing the issue) I'm using Coda to make changes to my website, Coda uses built in FTP to save changes to your web page. So when you hit Save, it uploads the new file. I've been using Coda for months and never had a problem until now. I am making changes in the html of my index.php and hitting save, it's successfully uploading the file but no changes are reflected in the source code in ANY browser. I even logged into cPanel on my website, ie. www.example.com:2082 and looked at the file - the changes have been made successfully. But the actual webpage in browser's source code, no changes?? I have tried adding which made no difference. Interestingly i make changes to style.css and the changes are instant. I have emptied the cache on all of my browsers but i'm still having an issue. Does this sound like a Coda problem or has anyone heard of such a thing?

  • Cannot get laptop wifi to work in ubuntu 12.4

    Hi i have a Toshiba Satellite L645D-S4106 laptop and i recently installed ubuntu 12.4 on it and i cannot get the wifi to connect for the life of me. When i tried ubuntu out before installing it, the wifi worked while windows was still installed on it. Then i installed ubuntu and now there is no wifi. I can't even flip the wifi network switch to the on position. I installed the driver from realtek for the linux driver and still nothing. Doing rfkill list all shows soft blocked: no and hard blocked: yes. Can anyone help me :p haha very frusterating. It probably is something very dumb. Thanks

But for Ruby on Rails, it's autocomplete feature is continuously in my way and ROR's standardization on 2 space tabs does not play well with Coda's settings. I've been going back to TextMate for ROR work, but was wondering if there were better options.

  • jquery plugin loading empty sometimes

    I am running this coda-slider script from http://www.ndoherty.biz/ Not Everytime, but quite often on the first load the coda slider box will be empty and the slider wont work, most of the time my image will be there and the slider will run since I have it set on auto. I am not quite sure why this happens. I seem to have had this happen to me with other jquery stuff just loading empty or super tiny images, anyone else seen this issue.

    How can I modify the mercurial.ini file to include an environment variable such as %userprofile%. Specific situation: I am learning to use Mercurial. I have modified the [ui] section of Mercurial.ini (in my home path) to include: ignore = c:\users\user\.hgignore Where user is my username literal. The .hgignore file includes filters that that ignore the filenames correctly at commit time. But how can I alter it from being the a literal user to an environment variable $user?

  • Usercontrol access javascript from a Content's Page's Master Page

    Hello all I have a problem. I have a masterpage that all of my Content pages inherit from. Within this masterpage I have a script tag pointing to the javascript file folder "~/Scripts/validation.js" On my content pages I use different usercontrols that require the use of many of the functions within the validation.js file however if I dont put the tag and the javascript functions within a contentholder on the contentpage the usercontrols do not see these functions and I get errors like "OnNameValidation" is not defined. Of course I can copy the javscript code into all of the pages but that's 30+ pages and a maintenance nightmare if I find a bug in one of the javscript functions. So the question (if you haven't already figured out from my long dissertation) is how can I declare the script tag with the path to the validation.js file so that contentpages and their usercontrols etc. can access the functions/code.   • IE 8 jquery 1.4.2 event error

    I am using Xinha editor with Jquery 1.4.2 and cannot use the UI components in IE 8. Other browsers work great! include the following scripts: jstree also throws a 'data not included' exception (which stumps me since it works without including the xinha library) Is there a way to find the conflict with Xinha and either work-around or resolve it for IE 8 using 1.4.2 jquery thanks please let me know if you need more info.

  • Parse HTML file to grab all ID and Classes for a CSS file

    Hey all, A short while ago, I'm fairly certain I came across an application (or perhaps a plugin for Coda - the IDE I use) which quickly parses a html document and then spits out all of the elements with IDs and Classes for me to use in a CSS file. Having fully 'got into' zen coding - using the wonderful TEA plugin for Coda, I'm now hot on the heels of this app/plugin again. I've tried and failed miserably at hunting through Google, but have come up completely empty handed. Does anyone know of anything which can do this? Happy New Year everyone!

  • Which tool can tidy/indent HTML5?

    I've already spent about 2 hours searching google and trying various tools but either they don't do indent tags per say or they aren't HTML5 compatible such as the famous HTML tidy which was last updated 3 years ago… N.B. I don't want to apply this to the source of a page (like PHP or JS would do) but to the code in the editor so that a clear hierarchy appears between tags. Ideally I'd like a Mac OS X tool but I'll take any online tool and in last resot a Wine compatible one. P.S. at the moment I use Coda from Panic

    Hi, I'm looking for any Mac compatibile development tools that are tried and tested. I'm quite sick of my MySQL query browser crashing... And i'm sure there is probably better software out there anyways... At the moment my focus is dedicated to application development using PHP/MySQL/Ajax. (although, I will be learning ActionScript/Flex shortly). Here are the apps I regularly use and a general idea of the environment I work in: Hosting - localhost: Mamp Production: Amazon EC2 IDE - Coda: PHP/Mysql/Javascript Mysql - PHPMyAdmin MySQL query browser FTP - Coda FileZilla X11 is used for connecting to my production environment I am mainly looking for... -tools that will help me better manage (create, edit... whatever) databases. -Version control. This is huge as I'm working with a team of three other developers (we reeeeeeaaally need to standardize our environments..) Although any cool little tools to make my job easier are always a plus! I am unable to insert more than one link as I'm not rated on this forum.

  • when updating location.hash in Chrome the jQuery animation "freezes" for a second

    I'm trying to create a sort of "virtual gallery". I'm using Coda Slider 2.0 & jQuery v1.4.2 It behaves perfectly in IE, FF & Safari, but Chrome seems to reload/hang for a second when setting location.hash. This causes the jQuery animation to freeze for a second :S Example: http://hardyernst.dk/gallery.html try clicking on the navigation links above the pictures.   • JQuery Dragging Outside Parent

    I'm using JQuery's draggable(); to make li elements draggable. The only problem is when the element is dragged outside its parent, it doesn't show up. That is, it doesn't leave the confines of its parent div. An example is here: http://imgur.com/N2N1L.png - it's as if the z-index for everything else has greater priority (and the element slides under everything). Here's the code: $('.photoList li').draggable({ distance: 20, snap: theVoteBar, revert: true, containment: 'document' }); And the li elements are placed in DIVs like this: <div class="coda-slider preload" id="coda-slider-1"> <div class="panel"> <div class="panel-wrapper"> <h2 class="title" style="display:none;">Page 1</h2> <ul class="photoList"> <li> <img class="ui-widget-content" src="photos/1.jpg" style="width:100px;height:100px;" /> </li> </ul> </div> </div> I'm positive the problem is it won't leave its parent container, but I'm not sure what to do to get it out.     Have you recently take a peek at Coda, or Espresso, or Textmate? Or even Google Chrome's Developer Tools? They are well designed, intuitive, interface rich, and extensible. But Coda, Espresso or Textmate, among several, are text editors, not IDEs. On the other side, VIM and Emacs live in the last century, and Eclipse is an overbloated platform. This is more like an outcry for a decent, common infrastructure for REAL IDEs. But there's some questions attached: (i) what features are needed for such a product and (ii) what products are out there that could fullfil this need, and what are they missing. So here's my draft for a manifesto: Manifesto for Integrated Development Environments: We favor interactivity and productivity over syntax and tools. We favor inline, contextual documentation over man and html files. We favor high-definition, graphic-capable color screens over 80x25 character terminals. We favor the use of advanced input schemas over unintuitive keyboard shortcuts. We favor a common, extensible and customizable infrastructure over unmaintained chaintools. We know the difference between search&replace and refactoring. We know the difference between integrated debugging support over a terminal window. We know the difference between semantic-aware code-completion over dumb textual templates. We favor the usage of standards like (E)BNF.
