  • How to assure applying order of function decorators in Python?

    - by Satoru.Logic
Some decorators should only be used in the outermost layer. A decorator that augments the original function and add a configure parameter is one example. from functools import wraps def special_case(f): @wraps(f) def _(a, b, config_x=False): if config_x: print "Special case here" return return f(a, b) How can I avoid decorators like this getting decorated by another decorator? EDIT It is really disgusting to let everyone trying to apply a new decorator worry about the application order. So, is it possible to avoid this kind of situation? Is it possible to add a config option without introducing a new parameter?

  • zend_form display group inside foreach

    - by Mike
I want to create a display group generated from foreach() clause output. I can't seem to get the syntax correct. Here's the business logic: for each category row find the associated fees output the category description as a label and the fees as radio buttons then create a display group with the fees as the group elements and the category description as the legend. I then have a style sheet format the elements on the page. and here's the code: foreach ($categoryData as $categoryRow) { $fees[$i] = new Zend_Form_Element_Radio("fees[$i]"); $fees[$i]->setDescription(strval($categoryRow['description'])); foreach ($feeData as $feeRow) { if ($feeRow['categories_idCategory'] == $categoryRow['idCategory']){ $fees[$i] ->addMultiOption($feeRow['idFees'] . '-' . $feeRow['categories_idCategory'], $feeRow['amount'] . '-' . $feeRow['name']); } } $fees[$i]->setRequired(TRUE); $this->addElements(array($fees[$i])); $this->addDisplayGroup($feeRow['name'], 'feeGroup',array('legend' => strval($feeRow['description']))); $i++; } I tried placing the addDisplayGroup() code within the foreach(), but I get the error: Message: No valid elements specified for display group So, my guess is that I'm making some kind of novice mistake that you experts will spot right away. I appreciate your time and attention to this matter.

  • how to Decorate the error message on zend framework

    - by ulduz114
    this is the decorator code $mydecorate = array( 'ViewHelper', array('Errors', array('placement' => 'append','class' => 'error')), array('Label', array('separator' => '')), array('HtmlTag', array('tag' => 'p', 'class' => 'element-form')) ); html result of two input elements with the above decorator: <p class="element-form"> <label for="firstname" class="required">First Name:</label> <input name="firstname" id="firstname" value="" type="text"> </p><ul class="error"><li>required field!</li></ul> <p class="element-form"> <label for="lastname" class="required">Last Name:</label> <input name="lastname" id="lastname" value="" type="text"> </p><ul class="error"><li>required field!</li></ul> I'd like the error message to be placed inside the p.element-form tag, any idea pleas? thanks

  • How can I set the class for a <dt> element in a Zend_Form?

    - by Mallika Iyer
    I'm trying to set the width of the style for a group of < dt elements in a Zend_Form. Is there a way to set a class for a dt element, so the end result would be something like this: <dt id="name-label" class="xyz" > // trying to add the 'class="xyz" <label class="required" for="name">Name:</label> </dt> <dd id="name-element"> <input type="text" maxlength="255" size="30" value="" id="name" name="name"> </dd>

  • Inside a decorator-class, access instance of the class which contains the decorated method

    - by ifischer
I have the following decorator, which saves a configuration file after a method decorated with @saveconfig is called: class saveconfig(object): def __init__(self, f): self.f = f def __call__(self, *args): self.f(object, *args) # Here i want to access "cfg" defined in pbtools print "Saving configuration" I'm using this decorator inside the following class. After the method createkvm is called, the configuration object self.cfg should be saved inside the decorator: class pbtools() def __init__(self): self.configfile = open("pbt.properties", 'r+') # This variable should be available inside my decorator self.cfg = ConfigObj(infile = self.configfile) @saveconfig def createkvm(self): print "creating kvm" My problem is that i need to access the object variable self.cfg inside the decorator saveconfig. A first naive approach was to add a parameter to the decorator which holds the object, like @saveconfig(self), but this doesn't work. How can I access object variables of the method host inside the decorator? Do i have to define the decorator inside the same class to get access?

  • python decorator to modify variable in current scope

    - by AlexH
Goal: Make a decorator which can modify the scope that it is used in. If it worked: class Blah(): # or perhaps class Blah(ParentClassWhichMakesThisPossible) def one(self): pass @decorated def two(self): pass Blah.decorated ["two"] Why? I essentially want to write classes which can maintain specific dictionaries of methods, so that I can retrieve lists of available methods of different types on a per class basis. errr..... I want to do this: class RuleClass(ParentClass): @rule def blah(self): pass @rule def kapow(self): pass def shazam(self): class OtherRuleClass(ParentClass): @rule def foo(self): pass def bar(self): pass RuleClass.rules.keys() ["blah", "kapow"] OtherRuleClass.rules.keys() ["foo"]

  • How can I append a description to a Zend_Form_Element?

    - by Mallika Iyer
I have the following Zend_Form_Element: $imginstructions = "Some description"; $img = $this->createElement('select','img'); $img->setAttrib('class', 'image-select'); $imgdecorator = $img->getDecorator('Description'); $imgdecorator->setOption('escape', false); $img->setLabel('Image:') ->setRequired(true) ->addMultiOptions($images) ->setValue('') ->setDescription($imginstructions) ->addErrorMessage('You must select an image'); $img->size = 5; $this->addElement($img); The description should appear next to the select box. The problem is : When an error is thrown, the html rendered changes so the description shows up below the select box, instead of beside it. HTML rendered before error is thrown: <dd id="img-element"> <select size="5" class="image-select" id="img" name="img" style="display: none;"> ...........options.............. </select> <p class="description">Some Description</p></dd> HTML rendered after error is thrown: <dd id="img-element"> <select size="5" class="image-select" id="img" name="img" style="display: none;"> ...........options.............. </select> <ul class="errors"><li>You must select an image</li></ul> <p class="description">Some Description</p></dd> Is there a way to force the error message to be appended as the last element in the DOM tree for the dd element? Something like: <dd id="img-element"> <select size="5" class="image-select" id="img" name="img" style="display: none;"> ...........options.............. </select> <p class="description">Some Description</p> <ul class="errors"><li>You must select an image</li></ul></dd> so the 'ul' is at the end of the dd DOM tree. Thanks, I appreciate your taking the time to respond to this question!

  • Zend Form - how do I create these custom form elements?

    - by Jeremy Hicks
This is a very specific instance where I'm having difficulty getting Zend Form to produce the correct output and supply the correct validation. I may have to go create a composite element but thought I'd ask here first. Here is the HTML I'm trying to get Zend Form to produce. I'd like this to be able to work where if the validation doesn't pass that the error messages still show up inline with the field that produced the error. <tr> <td>Budget</td> <td> <input type="radio" name="budget" value="unlimited" /> unlimited <br /> <input type="radio" name="budget" value="limited" /> $ <input type="text" name="budget_amount" /> every <select name="budget_period"> <option value="day">day</option> <option value="week">week</option> <option value="month">month</option> <option value="year">year</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td><input type="checkbox" name="include_weekends" value="yes" /> include weekends?</td> </tr> The user can choose either unlimited or limited for the budget value, however, if they choose limited, then they are required to enter a value for the budget amount field and choose a value from the select for the budget period field.

  • add a decorate function to a class

    - by wiso
I have a decorated function (simplified version): class Memoize: def __init__(self, function): self.function = function self.memoized = {} def __call__(self, *args, **kwds): hash = args try: return self.memoized[hash] except KeyError: self.memoized[hash] = self.function(*args) return self.memoized[hash] @Memoize def _DrawPlot(self, options): do something... now I want to add this method to a pre-esisting class. ROOT.TChain.DrawPlot = _DrawPlot when I call this method: chain = TChain() chain.DrawPlot(opts) I got: self.memoized[hash] = self.function(*args) TypeError: _DrawPlot() takes exactly 2 arguments (1 given) why doesn't it propagate self?

  • Struts2 + Sitemesh + Freemarker doesn't work

    - by jdoklovic
    I've tried following every example i ccould find and i can't get struts2 + sitemesh + freemarker to work on a simple jsp. I have a very simple web.xml, a single action that just goes to index.jsp, and a simple .ftl decorator that just adds some text to the result. When i hit index.action, the page "seems" to be decorated, but I get the literal ${body} instead of the actual contents. here's my setup: web.xml <web-app xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd" version="2.4"> <description>struts2 test</description> <display-name>struts 2 test</display-name> <filter> <filter-name>struts-prepare</filter-name> <filter-class>org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.ng.filter.StrutsPrepareFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter> <filter-name>sitemesh</filter-name> <filter-class>org.apache.struts2.sitemesh.FreeMarkerPageFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter> <filter-name>struts2</filter-name> <filter-class>org.apache.struts2.dispatcher.ng.filter.StrutsExecuteFilter</filter-class> </filter> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>struts-prepare</filter-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher> <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>sitemesh</filter-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher> <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher> </filter-mapping> <filter-mapping> <filter-name>struts2</filter-name> <url-pattern>/*</url-pattern> <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher> <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher> </filter-mapping> <welcome-file-list> <welcome-file>index.action</welcome-file> </welcome-file-list> </web-app> struts.xml <struts> <constant name="struts.devMode" value="true"/> <package name="basicstruts2" extends="struts-default"> <action name="index"> <result>/index.jsp</result> </action> </package> </struts> sitemesh.xml <sitemesh> <property name="decorators-file" value="/WEB-INF/decorators.xml" /> <excludes file="${decorators-file}" /> <page-parsers> <parser default="true" class="com.opensymphony.module.sitemesh.parser.DefaultPageParser"/> <parser content-type="text/html" class="com.opensymphony.module.sitemesh.parser.HTMLPageParser"/> </page-parsers> <decorator-mappers> <mapper class="com.opensymphony.module.sitemesh.mapper.ConfigDecoratorMapper"> <param name="config" value="${decorators-file}" /> </mapper> </decorator-mappers> </sitemesh> decorators.xml <decorators defaultdir="/decorators"> <decorator name="main" page="main.ftl"> <pattern>/*</pattern> </decorator> </decorators> main.ftl <html> <head> <title>${title}</title> ${head} </head> <body> I'm Fancy!<br> ${body}<br /> </body> </html> index.jsp <html> <head> <title>my title</title> </head> <body> my body </body> </html> Any ideas???

  • Using SiteMesh with RequestDispatcher's forward()

    - by Rob Hruska
I'm attempting to integrate SiteMesh into a legacy application using Tomcat 5 as my a container. I have a main.jsp that I'm decorating with a simple decorator. In decorators.xml, I've just got one decorator defined: <decorators defaultdir="/decorators"> <decorator name="layout-main" page="layout-main.jsp"> <pattern>/jsp/main.jsp</pattern> </decorator> </decorators> This decorator works if I manually go to http://example.com/my-webapp/jsp/main.jsp. However, there are a few places where a servlet, instead of doing a redirect to a jsp, does a forward: getServletContext().getRequestDispatcher("/jsp/main.jsp").forward(request, response); This means that the URL remains at something like http://example.com/my-webapp/servlet/MyServlet instead of the jsp file and is therefore not being decorated, I presume since it doesn't match the pattern in decorators.xml. I can't do a <pattern>/*</pattern> because there are other jsps that do not need to be decorated by layout-main.jsp. I can't do a <pattern>/servlet/MyServlet*</pattern> because MyServlet may forward to main.jsp sometimes and perhaps error.jsp at other times. Is there a way to work around this without expansive changes to how the servlets work? Since it's a legacy app I don't have as much freedom to change things, so I'm hoping for something configuration-wise that will fix this. SiteMesh's documentation really isn't that great. I've been working mostly off the example application that comes with the distribution. I really like SiteMesh, and am hoping I can get it to work in this case.

  • UnicodeEncodeError when uploading files in Django admin

    - by Samuel Linde
Note: I asked this question on StackOverflow, but I realize this might be a more proper place to ask this kind of question. I'm trying to upload a file called 'Testaråäö.txt' via the Django admin app. I'm running Django 1.3.1 with Gunicorn 0.13.4 and Nginx 0.7.6.7 on a Debian 6 server. Database is PostgreSQL 8.4.9. Other Unicode data is saved to the database with no problem, so I guess the problem must be with the filesystem somehow. I've set http { charset utf-8; } in my nginx.conf. LC_ALL and LANG is set to 'sv_SE.UTF-8'. Running 'locale' verifies this. I even tried setting LC_ALL and LANG in my nginx init script just to make sure locale is set properly. Here's the traceback: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/core/handlers/base.py", line 111, in get_response response = callback(request, *callback_args, **callback_kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/contrib/admin/options.py", line 307, in wrapper return self.admin_site.admin_view(view)(*args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/utils/decorators.py", line 93, in _wrapped_view response = view_func(request, *args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/views/decorators/cache.py", line 79, in _wrapped_view_func response = view_func(request, *args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/contrib/admin/sites.py", line 197, in inner return view(request, *args, **kwargs) File "/srv/django/letebo/app/cms/admin.py", line 81, in change_view return super(PageAdmin, self).change_view(request, obj_id) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/utils/decorators.py", line 28, in _wrapper return bound_func(*args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/utils/decorators.py", line 93, in _wrapped_view response = view_func(request, *args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/utils/decorators.py", line 24, in bound_func return func(self, *args2, **kwargs2) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/transaction.py", line 217, in inner res = func(*args, **kwargs) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/contrib/admin/options.py", line 985, in change_view self.save_formset(request, form, formset, change=True) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/contrib/admin/options.py", line 677, in save_formset formset.save() File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/forms/models.py", line 482, in save return self.save_existing_objects(commit) + self.save_new_objects(commit) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/forms/models.py", line 613, in save_new_objects self.new_objects.append(self.save_new(form, commit=commit)) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/forms/models.py", line 717, in save_new obj.save() File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 460, in save self.save_base(using=using, force_insert=force_insert, force_update=force_update) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 504, in save_base self.save_base(cls=parent, origin=org, using=using) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 543, in save_base for f in meta.local_fields if not isinstance(f, AutoField)] File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/fields/files.py", line 255, in pre_save file.save(file.name, file, save=False) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/fields/files.py", line 92, in save self.name = self.storage.save(name, content) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/core/files/storage.py", line 48, in save name = self.get_available_name(name) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/core/files/storage.py", line 74, in get_available_name while self.exists(name): File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/core/files/storage.py", line 218, in exists return os.path.exists(self.path(name)) File "/srv/.virtualenvs/letebo/lib/python2.6/genericpath.py", line 18, in exists st = os.stat(path) UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode characters in position 52-54: ordinal not in range(128) I tried running Gunicorn with debugging turned on, and the file uploads without any problem at all. • Overriding the save() method of a model that uses django-mptt

    - by saturdayplace
I've been using django-mptt in my project for a while now, it's fabulous. Recently, I've found a need to override a model's save() method that uses mptt, and I'm getting an error when I try to save a new instance of that model: Exception Type: ValueError at /admin/scrivener/page/add/ Exception Value: Cannot use None as a query value I'm assuming that this is a result of the fact that the instance hasn't been stuck into a tree yet, but I'm not sure how to go about fixing this. I added a comment about it onto a similar issue on the project's tracker, but I was hoping that someone here might be able to put me on the right track faster. Here's the traceback. • Problem with addDisplayGroup in the Zend Form

    - by ulduz114
Hi all, I have a form same the following code: public function init(){ $id=$this->createElement('hidden','cf_id'); $id->setDecorators($this->elementDecorators); $id->setOrder(1); $this->addElement($id); $firstName=$this->createElement('text','firstName'); $firstName->setDecorators($this->elementDecorators); $firstName->setLabel('name :'); $firstName->setOrder(2); $firstName->setAttrib('class','textbox'); $firstName->setAttrib('disabled',true); $this->addElement($firstName); $lastname=$this->createElement('text','family'); $lastname->setLabel(' family:'); $lastname->setDecorators($this->elementDecorators); $lastname->setOrder(3); $lastname->setAttrib('class','textbox'); $lastname->setAttrib('disabled',true); $this->addElement($lastname); $this->addElement('button', 'cancel', array( 'label' => 'Cancel Button', 'class'=>'button', 'decorators' => array( 'ViewHelper', ), )); $this->addElement('button', 'submit', array( 'label' => 'Submit Button', 'class'=>'button', 'decorators' => array( 'ViewHelper', ), )); $this->addDisplayGroup(array('submit', 'cancel',), 'submitButtons', array( 'order'=>4, 'decorators' => array( 'FormElements', array('HtmlTag', array('tag' => 'div', 'class' => 'element')), ), )); } In this form there are some elements and two buttons. In display page, the buttons are shown above form before other elements. How can I put these buttons at the bottom of all elemnts? Thanks.

  • JSR-299 (CDI) configuration at runtime

    - by nsn
I need to configure different @Alternatives, @Decorators and @Injectors for different runtime environments (think testing, staging and production servers). Right now I use maven to create three wars, and the only difference between those wars are in the beans.xml files. Is there a better way to do this? I do have @Alternative @Stereotypes for the different environments, but even then I need to alter beans.xml, and they don't work for @Decorators (or do they?) Is it somehow possible to instruct CDI to ignore the values in beans.xml and use a custom configuration source? Because then I could for example read a system property or other environment variable. The application exclusively runs in containers that use Weld, so a weld-specific solution would be ok. I already tried to google this but can't seem to find good search terms, and I asked the Weld-Users-Forums, but to no avail. Someone over there suggested to write my own custom extension, but I can't find any API to actually change the container configuration at runtime. I think it would be possible to have some sort of @ApplicationScoped configuration bean and inject that into all @Decorators which could then decide themselves whether they should be active or not and then in order to configure @Alternatives write @Produces methods for every interface with multiple implementations and inject the config bean there too. But this seems to me like a lot of unnecessary work to essentially duplicate functionality already present in CDI?

  • importing CELERY* environment variables in django settings.py causes celeryd not to start

    - by Taras
I just spent 2 hours trying to figure out why django celery stopped working. Celery would being to start, but would stop short of printing out the configuration items, implying that it wasn't starting correct. The log would only contain The celery.decorators module along with the magic keyword arguments, are deprecated, and will be removed in version 3.0. Please use the celery.task module instead of celery.decorators, and the task.request should be used instead of the magic keyword arguments: from celery.task import task See http://bit.ly/celery22major for more information. """)) It turns out that some celery env variables that I was importing to try and fix a different problem were causing celery not to start correctly: from celery.tests.config import CELERY_QUEUES, CELERY_DEFAULT_QUEUE, CELERY_DEFAULT_ROUTING_KEY Even though I wasn't using them anywhere. Does anyone know what was happening?

  • Change the complete KDE Desktop Look like a Theme?

    - by piedro
Is there any application to change the complete look of KDE like a theme in gnome? Without changing the colors, icons, styles, backgrounds, decorators and so forth individually but in one process instead? Something like a theme manager? I would like to create a complete KDE Desktop look & style and then share it with friends without setting up 8 sets of settings with all kinds of importing files and setups.

  • Flexible Decorator Pattern?

    - by Omar Kooheji
I was looking for a pattern to model something I'm thinking of doing in a personal project and I was wondering if a modified version of the decorator patter would work. Basicly I'm thinking of creating a game where the characters attributes are modified by what items they have equiped. The way that the decorator stacks it's modifications is perfect for this, however I've never seen a decorator that allows you to drop intermediate decorators, which is what would happen when items are unequiped. Does anyone have experience using the decorator pattern in this way? Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Clarification To explain "Intermediate decorators" if for example my base class is coffe which is decorated with milk which is decorated with sugar (using the example in Head first design patterns) milk would be an intermediate decorator as it decorates the base coffee, and is decorated by the sugar. Yet More Clarification :) The idea is that items change stats, I'd agree that I am shoehorning the decorator into this. I'll look into the state bag. essentially I want a single point of call for the statistics and for them to go up/down when items are equiped/unequiped. I could just apply the modifiers to the characters stats on equiping and roll them back when unequiping. Or whenever a stat is asked for iterate through all the items and calculate the stat. I'm just looking for feedback here, I'm aware that I might be using a chainsaw where scissors would be more appropriate...

  • What is Ruby's analog to Python Metaclasses?

    - by Sean Copenhaver
Python has the idea of metaclasses that, if I understand correctly, allow you to modify an object of a class at the moment of construction. You are not modifying the class, but instead the object that is to be created then initialized. Python (at least as of 3.0 I believe) also has the idea of class decorators. Again if I understand correctly, class decorators allow the modifying of the class definition at the moment it is being declared. Now I believe there is an equivalent feature or features to the class decorator in Ruby, but I'm currently unaware of something equivalent to metaclasses. I'm sure you can easily pump any Ruby object through some functions and do what you will to it, but is there a feature in the language that sets that up like metaclasses do? So again, Does Ruby have something similar to Python's metaclasses? Edit I was off on the metaclasses for Python. A metaclass and a class decorator do very similar things it appears. They both modify the class when it is defined but in different manners. Hopefully a Python guru will come in and explain better on these features in Python. But a class or the parent of a class can implement a __new__(cls[,..]) function that does customize the construction of the object before it is initialized with __init__(self[,..]).

  • Is there a name for this functional programming construct/pattern?

    - by dietbuddha
I wrote a function and I'd like to find out if it is an implementation of some functional programming pattern or construct. I'd like to find out the name of this pattern or construct (if it exists)? I have a function which takes a list of functions and does this to them: wrap(fn1, fn2, fn3, fn4) # returns partial(fn4, partial(fn3, partial(fn2, fn1))) There are strong similarities to compose, reduce, and other fp metaprogramming constructs, since the functions are being arranged together and returned as one function. It also has strong similarities to decorators and Python context managers since it provides a way to encapsulate pre and post execution behaviors in one function. Which was the impetus for writing this function. I wanted the ability that context managers provide, but I wanted to be able to have it defined in one function, and to be able to layer function after function on top.
