  • check two conditions in two different columns in excel and count the matches

    - by user1727103
    I've trying to create a Error Log to help me analyse my mistakes. So for simplicity, lets assume I have two columns "Type of Question" - with values SC,RC,CR and another column that indicates whether I got this question "right/wrong".Let's assume this is my table: Question No. | Right/Wrong | Question Type | Right | SC | Right | RC | Wrong | SC | Wrong | CR | Right | RC (Pardon my formatting skills). And I want an output table like this Type of Question | Right | Wrong | Total SC | 1 | 1 | 2 RC | 2 | 0 | 2 CR | 0 | 1 | 1 So basically what I want to do is check Column3 for SC using =COUNTIF(C1:C5,"SC"), and return the total number of SC questions, and then outta the SC , I need to find out which are Right. If I know the right and the total I can get the wrong. I have never written a macro so a formula based answer would suffice.

  • How to view dirty page count in Windows Server 2003

    - by Mark Wilkins
    Is there a way to view the number of dirty pages (cached file pages that need to still be written to disk) in Windows Server 2003? In Windows 7, for example, I can use Performance Monitor and use the "Dirty Pages" counter (one of the cache counters). This counter does not seem to be available in Server 2003. Also on Windows 7 (and other later systems), I can use Sysinternals RAMMap and effectively see the dirty pages on a file-by-file basis. Is there something similar for Server 2003?

  • MaxConnections: is it a Client or Request count?

    - by ctacke
    IIS allows me to set a MaxConnections value in the configuration. What is unclear (to me anyway) is what that number means exactly, and I can't find a definitive documented answer. Is this the maximum number of clients that connect simultaneously, or is the maximum number of requests that can be running concurrently? For example, if I have a page that loads up some images, CSS files, scripts and content, each of those could reasonably be on a separate request socket with a modern browser. Is each of those sockets counted against the "max", or is it counted only as 1 since they are all requests from the same client address?

  • Overloading '-' for array subtraction

    - by Chris Wilson
    I am attempting to subtract two int arrays, stored as class members, using an overloaded - operator, but I'm getting some peculiar output when I run tests. The overload definition is Number& Number :: operator-(const Number& NumberObject) { for (int count = 0; count < NumberSize; count ++) { Value[count] -= NumberObject.Value[count]; } return *this; } Whenever I run tests on this, NumberObject.Value[count] always seems to be returning a zero value. Can anyone see where I'm going wrong with this? The line in main() where this subtraction is being carried out is cout << "The difference is: " << ArrayOfNumbers[0] - ArrayOfNumbers[1] << endl; ArrayOfNumbers contains two Number objects. The class declaration is #include <iostream> using namespace std; class Number { private: int Value[50]; int NumberSize; public: Number(); // Default constructor Number(const Number&); // Copy constructor Number(int, int); // Non-default constructor void SetMemberValues(int, int); // Manually set member values int GetNumberSize() const; // Return NumberSize member int GetValue() const; // Return Value[] member Number& operator-=(const Number&); }; inline Number operator-(Number Lhs, const Number& Rhs); ostream& operator<<(ostream&, const Number&); The full class definition is as follows: #include <iostream> #include "../headers/number.h" using namespace std; // Default constructor Number :: Number() {} // Copy constructor Number :: Number(const Number& NumberObject) { int Temp[NumberSize]; NumberSize = NumberObject.GetNumberSize(); for (int count = 0; count < NumberObject.GetNumberSize(); count ++) { Temp[count] = Value[count] - NumberObject.GetValue(); } } // Manually set member values void Number :: SetMemberValues(int NewNumberValue, int NewNumberSize) { NumberSize = NewNumberSize; for (int count = NewNumberSize - 1; count >= 0; count --) { Value[count] = NewNumberValue % 10; NewNumberValue = NewNumberValue / 10; } } // Non-default constructor Number :: Number(int NumberValue, int NewNumberSize) { NumberSize = NewNumberSize; for (int count = NewNumberSize - 1; count >= 0; count --) { Value[count] = NumberValue % 10; NumberValue = NumberValue / 10; } } // Return the NumberSize member int Number :: GetNumberSize() const { return NumberSize; } // Return the Value[] member int Number :: GetValue() const { int ResultSoFar; for (int count2 = 0; count2 < NumberSize; count2 ++) { ResultSoFar = ResultSoFar * 10 + Value[count2]; } return ResultSoFar; } Number& operator-=(const Number& Rhs) { for (int count = 0; count < NumberSize; count ++) { Value[count] -= Rhs.Value[count]; } return *this; } inline Number operator-(Number Lhs, const Number& Rhs) { Lhs -= Rhs; return Lhs; } // Overloaded output operator ostream& operator<<(ostream& OutputStream, const Number& NumberObject) { OutputStream << NumberObject.GetValue(); return OutputStream; }

  • Counting number of searches

    - by shinjuo
    I am trying to figure out how to get the total number of tests each search makes in this algorithm. I am not sure how I can pass that information back from this algorithm though. I need to count how many times while runs and then pass that number back into an array to be added together and determine the average number of test. main.c #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <time.h> #include <stdbool.h> #include "percentage.h" #include "sequentialSearch.h" #define searchAmount 100 int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { int numbers[100]; int searches[searchAmount]; int i; int where; int searchSuccess; int searchUnsuccess; int percent; srand(time(NULL)); for (i = 0; i < 100; i++){ numbers[i] = rand() % 200; } for (i = 0; i < searchAmount; i++){ searches[i] = rand() % 200; } searchUnsuccess = 0; searchSuccess = 0; for(i = 0; i < searchAmount; i++){ if(seqSearch(numbers, 100, searches[i], &where)){ searchSuccess++; }else{ searchUnsuccess++; } } percent = percentRate(searchSuccess, searchAmount); printf("Total number of searches: %d\n", searchAmount); printf("Total successful searches: %d\n", searchSuccess); printf("Success Rate: %d%%\n", percent); system("PAUSE"); return 0; } sequentialSearch.h bool seqSearch (int list[], int last, int target, int* locn){ int looker; looker = 0; while(looker < last && target != list[looker]){ looker++; } *locn = looker; return(target == list[looker]); }

  • WinForms databind to collection property (such as count)

    - by Ornus
    I want to databind to a collection property, such as Count. in general, when I data bind I specify data member for the object property in the collection, not for the actual properties collection itself exposes. for example, I have a list of custom objects. I show them in datagridview. but I also want to show their total count using a separate label. is there a way to do this through databinding? I imagine that somehow I need to force PropertyManager to be used, instead of CurrentyManager? I get the following exception. Notice that DataSource is collection and has TotalValue property. System.ArgumentException: Cannot bind to the property or column TotalValue on the DataSource. Parameter name: dataMember at System.Windows.Forms.BindToObject.CheckBinding() at System.Windows.Forms.Binding.SetListManager(BindingManagerBase bindingManagerBase) at System.Windows.Forms.ListManagerBindingsCollection.AddCore(Binding dataBinding) at System.Windows.Forms.BindingsCollection.Add(Binding binding) at System.Windows.Forms.BindingContext.UpdateBinding(BindingContext newBindingContext, Binding binding) at System.Windows.Forms.Binding.SetBindableComponent(IBindableComponent value) at System.Windows.Forms.ControlBindingsCollection.AddCore(Binding dataBinding) at System.Windows.Forms.BindingsCollection.Add(Binding binding)

  • Excel::Shape object getting released automatically after the count reaches 18 in List<T>

    - by A9S6
    I have a Excel addin written in C# 2.0 in which I am experiencing a strange behavior. Please note that this behavior is only seen in Excel 2003 and NOT in Excel 2007 or 2010. Issue: When the user clicks an import command button, a file is read and a number of Shapes are created/added to the worksheet using Worksheet::Shapes::AddPicture() method. A reference to these Shape objects are kept in a generic list: List<Excel.Shape> list = new List<Excel.Shape>(); Everything works fine till the list has less than 18 references. When the count reaches 18, and a new Shape reference is added, the first one i.e. @ index [0] is released. I am unable to call any method or property on that reference and calling a method/property throws a COMException (0x800A1A8) i.e. Object Required. If I add one more, then the reference @ [1] is not accessible and so on. Strange enough... this happens with Shape object only i.e. If I add one Shape and then 17 nulls to the list then this wont happen until 17 more Shape objects are added. Does anyone has an idea why it happens after the count reaches 18? I thought it might be something with the List's default capacity. Something like relocating the references during which they get released so I initialized it with a capacity of 1000 but still no luck. List<Excel.Shape> list = new List<Excel.Shape>(1000); Any Idea??

  • Algorithm for count-down timer that can add on time

    - by Person
    I'm making a general timer that has functionality to count up from 0 or count down from a certain number. I also want it to allow the user to add and subtract time. Everything is simple to implement except for the case in which the timer is counting down from some number, and the user adds or subtracts time from it. For example: (m_clock is an instance of SFML's Clock) float Timer::GetElapsedTime() { if ( m_forward ) { m_elapsedTime += m_clock.GetElapsedTime() - m_elapsedTime; } else { m_elapsedTime -= m_elapsedTime - m_startingTime + m_clock.GetElapsedTime(); } return m_elapsedTime; } To be a bit more clear, imagine that the timer starts at 100 counting down. After 10 seconds, the above function would look like 100 -= 100 - 100 + 10 which equals 90. If it was called after 20 more seconds it would look like 90 -= 90 - 100 + 30 which equals 70. This works for normal counting, but if the user calls AddTime() ( just m_elapsedTime += arg ) then the algorithm for backwards counting fails miserably. I know that I can do this using more members and keeping track of previous times, etc. but I'm wondering whether I'm missing some implementation that is extremely obvious. I'd prefer to keep it as simple as possible in that single operation.

  • Need some help with a MySQL subquery count

    - by Ferdy
    I'm running into my own limits of MySQL query skills, so I hope some SQL guru can help out on this one. The situation is as follow: I have images that can be tagged. As you might expect this is stored in three tables: Image Tag Tag_map (maps images to tags) I have a SQL query that calculates the related tags based on a tag id. The query basically checks what other tags were used for images for images using that tag. Example: Image1 tagged as "Bear" Image2 tagged as "Bear" and "Canada" If I throw "Bear" (or its tag id) at the query, it will return "Canada". This works fine. Here's the query: SELECT tag.name, tag.id, COUNT(tag_map.id) as cnt FROM tag_map,tag WHERE tag_map.tag_id = tag.id AND tag.id != '185' AND tag_map.image_id IN (SELECT tag_map.image_id FROM tag_map INNER JOIN tag ON tag_map.tag_id = tag.id WHERE tag.id = '185') GROUP BY tag_map.id LIMIT 0,100 The part I'm stuck with is the count. For each related tag returned, I want to know how many images are in that tag. Currently it always returns 1, even if there are for example 3. I've tried counting different columns all resulting in the same output, so I guess there is a flaw in my thinking.

  • Optimize a MySQL count each duplicate Query

    - by Onema
    I have the following query That gets the city name, city id, the region name, and a count of duplicate names for that record: SELECT Country_CA.City AS currentCity, Country_CA.CityID, globe_region.region_name, ( SELECT count(Country_CA.City) FROM Country_CA WHERE City LIKE currentCity ) as counter FROM Country_CA LEFT JOIN globe_region ON globe_region.region_id = Country_CA.RegionID AND globe_region.country_code = Country_CA.CountryCode ORDER BY City This example is for Canada, and the cities will be displayed on a dropdown list. There are a few towns in Canada, and in other countries, that have the same names. Therefore I want to know if there is more than one town with the same name region name will be appended to the town name. Region names are found in the globe_region table. Country_CA and globe_region look similar to this (I have changed a few things for visualization purposes) CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `Country_CA` ( `City` varchar(75) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `RegionID` varchar(10) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `CountryCode` varchar(10) NOT NULL DEFAULT '', `CityID` int(11) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', PRIMARY KEY (`City`,`RegionID`), KEY `CityID` (`CityID`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8; AND CREATE TABLE IF NOT EXISTS `globe_region` ( `country_code` char(2) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, `region_code` char(2) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, `region_name` varchar(50) COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci NOT NULL, PRIMARY KEY (`country_code`,`region_code`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 COLLATE=utf8_unicode_ci; The query on the top does exactly what I want it to do, but It takes way too long to generate a list for 5000 records. I would like to know if there is a way to optimize the sub-query in order to obtain the same results faster. the results should look like this City CityID region_name counter sheraton 2349269 British Columbia 1 sherbrooke 2349270 Quebec 2 sherbrooke 2349271 Nova Scotia 2 shere 2349273 British Columbia 1 sherridon 2349274 Manitoba 1

  • Accessing Element Count and Values Within a Hidden Div

    - by Tegan Snyder
    I'm having trouble grabbing the TR count in JQuery of a table that inside a DIV set to be hidden. Here is an example: <div id="questions" style="display: none;"> <table id="tbl_questions"> <thead> <tr> <th>Question</th> <th>Weight</th> </tr> </thead> <tbody> <tr id="q0"> <td id="td_question0">Some Question 0</td> <td id="td_wieght0">Some Weight 0</td> </tr> <tr id="q1"> <td id="td_question1">Some Question 1</td> <td id="td_wieght1">Some Weight 1</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </div> Note the table is within the containing div. It's set to display: none. When I try to run this JQuery code it returns 0. var question_count = $("#tbl_questions> tr").size(); alert(question_count); Any ideas? I'm try to locate the count so I can then build an array of each question and weight in the table. Since the ID's provide me with an index this should be simple, but is the fact that it is contained in a hidden DIV going to be a problem just as the above question? Thanks, Tegan Snyder

  • How to count children from different lists? [jQuery]

    - by Filip Breckx
    Hi, I'm trying to count the number of child elements a certain category has. This is the situation: <ul id="select_cat"> <li id="_1">Category 1 (<span>#</span>)</li> <li id="_2">Category 2 (<span>#</span>)</li> </ul> <ul id="cat_1> <li>Link 1</li> <li>Link 2</li> <li>Link 3</li> </ul> <ul id="cat_2"> <li>Link 1</li> <li>Link 2</li> </ul> So I want to count the number of children a category has. In this example the first cardinal sign should be 3, and the second should be 2. How can I do this, using jQuery. Check an example (not jQuery) Thanks!

  • Conditional row count in linq to nhibernate doesn't work

    - by Lucasus
    I want to translate following simple sql query into Linq to NHibernate: SELECT NewsId ,sum(n.UserHits) as 'HitsNumber' ,sum(CASE WHEN n.UserHits > 0 THEN 1 ELSE 0 END) as 'VisitorsNumber' FROM UserNews n GROUP BY n.NewsId My simplified UserNews class: public class AktualnosciUzytkownik { public virtual int UserNewsId { get; set; } public virtual int UserHits { get; set; } public virtual User User { get; set; } // UserId key in db table public virtual News News { get; set; } // NewsId key in db table } I've written following linq query: var hitsPerNews = (from n in Session.Query<UserNews>() group n by n.News.NewsId into g select new { NewsId = g.Key, HitsNumber = g.Sum(x => x.UserHits), VisitorsNumber = g.Count(x => x.UserHits > 0) }).ToList(); But generated sql just ignores my x => x.UserHits > 0 statement and makes unnecessary 'left outer join': SELECT news1_.NewsId AS col_0_0_, CAST(SUM(news0_.UserHits) AS INT) AS col_1_0_, CAST(COUNT(*) AS INT) AS col_2_0_ FROM UserNews news0_ LEFT OUTER JOIN News news1_ ON news0_.NewsId=news1_.NewsId GROUP BY news1_.NewsId How Can I fix or workaround this issue? Maybe this can be done better with QueryOver syntax?

  • How to remove words based on a word count

    - by Chris
    Here is what I'm trying to accomplish. I have an object coming back from the database with a string description. This description can be up to 1000 characters long, but we only want to display a short view of this. So I coded up the following, but I'm having trouble in actually removing the number of words after the regular expression finds the total count of words. Does anyone have good way of dispalying the words which are less than the Regex.Matches? Thanks! if (!string.IsNullOrEmpty(myObject.Description)) { string original = myObject.Description; MatchCollection wordColl = Regex.Matches(original, @"[\S]+"); if (wordColl.Count < 70) // 70 words? { uxDescriptionDisplay.Text = string.Format("<p>{0}</p>", myObject.Description); } else { string shortendText = original.Remove(200); // 200 characters? uxDescriptionDisplay.Text = string.Format("<p>{0}</p>", shortendText); } }

I have a done value that allows the first thread to increment the count value first until its run time is up.. so its like a First Come First Serve. my question is, is there a better way of implementing this? I have read about SCHED_FIFO or SCHED_RR.. I guess I dont know how to implement them into this code or if it can be.

  • count specific values in a multidimensional array

Thank You.

  • How to obtain a random sub-datatable from another data table

    - by developerit
    Introduction In this article, I’ll show how to get a random subset of data from a DataTable. This is useful when you already have queries that are filtered correctly but returns all the rows. Analysis I came across this situation when I wanted to display a random tag cloud. I already had the query to get the keywords ordered by number of clicks and I wanted to created a tag cloud. Tags that are the most popular should have more chance to get picked and should be displayed larger than less popular ones. Implementation In this code snippet, there is everything you need. ' Min size, in pixel for the tag Private Const MIN_FONT_SIZE As Integer = 9 ' Max size, in pixel for the tag Private Const MAX_FONT_SIZE As Integer = 14 ' Basic function that retreives Tags from a DataBase Public Shared Function GetTags() As MediasTagsDataTable ' Simple call to the TableAdapter, to get the Tags ordered by number of clicks Dim dt As MediasTagsDataTable = taMediasTags.GetDataValide ' If the query returned no result, return an empty DataTable If dt Is Nothing OrElse dt.Rows.Count < 1 Then Return New MediasTagsDataTable End If ' Set the font-size of the group of data ' We are dividing our results into sub set, according to their number of clicks ' Example: 10 results -> [0,2] will get font size 9, [3,5] will get font size 10, [6,8] wil get 11, ... ' This is the number of elements in one group Dim groupLenth As Integer = CType(Math.Floor(dt.Rows.Count / (MAX_FONT_SIZE - MIN_FONT_SIZE)), Integer) ' Counter of elements in the same group Dim counter As Integer = 0 ' Counter of groups Dim groupCounter As Integer = 0 ' Loop througt the list For Each row As MediasTagsRow In dt ' Set the font-size in a custom column row.c_FontSize = MIN_FONT_SIZE + groupCounter ' Increment the counter counter += 1 ' If the group counter is less than the counter If groupLenth <= counter Then ' Start a new group counter = 0 groupCounter += 1 End If Next ' Return the new DataTable with font-size Return dt End Function ' Function that generate the random sub set Public Shared Function GetRandomSampleTags(ByVal KeyCount As Integer) As MediasTagsDataTable ' Get the data Dim dt As MediasTagsDataTable = GetTags() ' Create a new DataTable that will contains the random set Dim rep As MediasTagsDataTable = New MediasTagsDataTable ' Count the number of row in the new DataTable Dim count As Integer = 0 ' Random number generator Dim rand As New Random() While count < KeyCount Randomize() ' Pick a random row Dim r As Integer = rand.Next(0, dt.Rows.Count - 1) Dim tmpRow As MediasTagsRow = dt(r) ' Import it into the new DataTable rep.ImportRow(tmpRow) ' Remove it from the old one, to be sure not to pick it again dt.Rows.RemoveAt(r) ' Increment the counter count += 1 End While ' Return the new sub set Return rep End Function Pro’s This method is good because it doesn’t require much work to get it work fast. It is a good concept when you are working with small tables, let says less than 100 records. Con’s If you have more than 100 records, out of memory exception may occur since we are coping and duplicating rows. I would consider using a stored procedure instead.

  • Facebook Like-Button - hide count?

    - by piquadrat
    In the setup dialog for the Like-Button, there are only two options for layout: Unfortunately, the numbers for the website of my employer is nowhere near 22'000, so the powers that be have decided that we should not show the number of "likes" until said number is a little more in our favour. As far as I know, I don't have access to the layout of the button through Javascript or CSS (it's in an iframe served by facebook). Are there any other ways to hide the count?

  • Objective-C NSMutableArray Count Causes EXC_BAD_ACCESS

    - by JoshEH
    I've been stuck on this for days and each time I come back to it I keep making my code more and more confusing to myself, lol. Here's what I'm trying to do. I have table list of charges, I tap on one and brings up a model view with charge details. Now when the model is presented a object is created to fetch a XML list of users and parses it and returns a NSMutableArray via a custom delegate. I then have a button that presents a picker popover, when the popover view is called the user array is used in an initWithArray call to the popover view. I know the data in the array is right, but when [pickerUsers count] is called I get an EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I assume it's a memory/ownership issue but nothing seems to help. Any help would be appreciated. Relevant code snippets: Charge Popover (Charge details model view): @interface ChargePopoverViewController ..... NSMutableArray *pickerUserList; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *pickerUserList; @implementation ChargePopoverViewController @synthesize whoOwesPickerButton, pickerUserList; - (void)viewDidLoad { JEHWebAPIPickerUsers *fetcher = [[JEHWebAPIPickerUsers alloc] init]; fetcher.delegate = self; [fetcher fetchUsers]; } -(void) JEHWebAPIFetchedUsers:(NSMutableArray *)theData { [pickerUserList release]; pickerUserList = theData; } - (void) pickWhoPaid: (id) sender { UserPickerViewController* content = [[UserPickerViewController alloc] initWithArray:pickerUserList]; UIPopoverController *popover = [[UIPopoverController alloc] initWithContentViewController:content]; [popover presentPopoverFromRect:whoPaidPickerButton.frame inView:self.view permittedArrowDirections:UIPopoverArrowDirectionAny animated:YES]; content.delegate = self; } User Picker View Controller @interface UserPickerViewController ..... NSMutableArray *pickerUsers; @property(nonatomic, retain) NSMutableArray *pickerUsers; @implementation UserPickerViewController @synthesize pickerUsers; -(UserPickerViewController*) initWithArray:(NSMutableArray *)theUsers { self = [super init]; if ( self ) { self.pickerUsers = theUsers; } return self; } - (NSInteger)pickerView:(UIPickerView *)thePickerView numberOfRowsInComponent:(NSInteger)component { // Dies Here EXC_BAD_ACCESS, but NSLog(@"The content of array is%@",pickerUsers); shows correct array data return [pickerUsers count]; } I can provide additional code if it might help. Thanks in advance.

  • Getting a friend count from facebook (possibly using api)

    - by Patrick
    Im used to working with twitter, where friend/follower totals are available in a simple xml request. My goal is a simple "enter your username/user id, and display your friends count". Is there something like this for facebook? From what i gather, ill have to make an application, and have anyone who wants to grab their friends total actually install that app from within their own facebook profile. Anyone have any experience with this?

  • Jquery Count up Animation?

    - by Wes
    I have a a counter that needs to count up from $0 to $10,000 in x seconds (most likely 3 seconds). Just straight text, kind of like a millisecond countdown timer, but upwards and with a dollar sign. I'd rather not use a bulky plugin as this just needs to loop through 1-10,00 in x seconds and update every 100ms or so. I'm stuck at creating the loop that will update, where should I start?
