  • how to recognize video codec of a file with ffmpeg

    I have often problems reading AVI file with my TV dvd player if they are not divx or xvid (DX50,i.e., is not readable). I'd like to make a fast script to recognize the video codec of these files before burn it on cdrom/dvd. The command : ffmpeg -i file.avi give the "container" of the video stream (mpeg4,mpeg2,etc), not the codec. Any hint? Thanks

    I'm creating a Cocoa Application, which will need to run the rails command. This command generates an output, and streams it to stdout. I want to show this output to the user in an NSTextView (so basicly stream the stdout to the NSTextView). I don't really care about how I should run the command, as long as I can set the working directory. Can anyone help me? Thanks

  • Better alternative for PipedReader/PipedWriter?

    I need to have a buffered char stream, into which I write in one thread and from which I read in another thread. Right now I'm using PipedReader and PipedWriter for it, but those classes cause a performance problem: PipedReader does a wait(1000) when its internal buffer is empty, which causes my application to lag visibly. Would there be some library which does the same thing as PipedReader/PipedWriter, but with better performance? Or will I have to implement my own wheels?

    How can i write 'one bit' into a file stream or file structure each time? is it possible to write to a queue and then flush it ? is it possible with c# or java? this was needed when i try to implement an instance of Huffman codding. i can't write bits into files. so write them to a bitset and then (when compression was completed) write 8-bit piece of it each time (exclude last one).

The error itself is: System.IO.EndOfStreamException: Unable to read beyond the end of the stream. at System.IO.BinaryReader.ReadByte() at System.Web.UI.ObjectStateFormatter.DeserializeIndexedString(SerializerBinaryReader reader, Byte token) at System.Web.UI.ObjectStateFormatter.DeserializeValue(SerializerBinaryReader reader) Google turns up little. I assume they are submitting an invalid viewstate, but the exception has no line number so im stumped.

  • Is there a command-line tool that could tell me if Gzip is really on beyond the Gzip 1 header param?

    Is there a command-line tool that could tell me if Gzip is on? What I'm looking for is something that can say the stream coming from the server is really gzipped even if the header params say Gzip:1 (which it could be falsely placing in the headers). I don't see a switch in curl, or wget, or tcpdump, or anything, but maybe I'm just missing something, or perhaps there is something else that could provide me this bit of information? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Can SQLite file copied successfully on the data folder of an unrooted android device ?

    I know that in order to access the data folder on the device, it needs to be rooted. However, if I just want to copy the database from my assets folder to the data folder on my device, will the copying process works on an unrooted phone? The following is my Database Helper class. From logcat, I can verify that the methods call to copyDataBase(), createDataBase() and openDataBase() are returned successfully. However, I got this error message android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: no such table: TABLE_NAME: when my application is executing rawQuery. I'm suspecting the database file is not copied successfully (cannot be too sure as I do not have access to data folder), yet the method call to copyDatabase() are not throwing any exception. What could it be? I have a Hub and spoke network where the HUB is an ASA Firewall version 8.2 * I basicaly want to allow 2 spokes to be able to communicate with each other.   • Task Scheduler permissions error for some jobs

    I have recently moved to a 64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2. I setup my Scheduled Tasks to run under one user (TaskUser) specifically created for the scheduler and most run just fine. However some of them do not run under TaskUser but will for my own credentials. Here is the Event Log entry I found, which from my research points me to believe that it doesn't have permissions, but it does. It also has the option "Run with highest privileges" checked on. I have seen this particular checkbox work wonders on some tasks, but I have a number of them that it's not helping for.     Recently I have started to suspect that I have some kind of virus on my computer. There are 3 symptoms: Banners are being displayed on pages that doesn't use commercials, for instance when viewing screen-shots on Steam. It is only displayed after the rest of the page has been loaded and seems to be injected into it. The whole page is replaced with a commercial with the option to skip the commercial. The page is replaced with a search window claiming that the page could not be found. I have tried to scan my computer with Antivir and Adaware but only found a couple of tracking cookies. I have run HijackThis but since this isn't really my area I haven't been able to discern what shouldn't be there except the line about zonealarm since I have uninstalled it. Is there anyone out there who is able to see if there is anything suspicious in the log-file at the end or has suggestions regarding programs that might be better to find the virus than Antivir and Adaware?   • Where can I find this hotfix?

    I've got a problem, and seemly the solution is a hot fix mentioned here. The problem is that the link there pointing to location of the hotfix is broken, leading to a search page on MS site. And looking around I figured that the easiest way is to phone Microsoft, but I live in other country. So, how I fix the problem described in the KB page that I linked? EDIT: Extra note: I DO have the SP3... :(
