  • Question about the MIT License and open/closed source

    Hallo, I have a small useful application (Websites managment tool developed in Java) which I want to publish online for free (every one can use it for free). But I do not want to make it opne source yet. It is additional affort to clean up the code, documantation and so on... And this is just a small useful tool. Can I use the MIT license in this case, or the MIT license obligates me to distribute the source code? Which license is best in this case? Thanks.

  • Automatic hyperlink in Excel [closed]

    Hi All, Is it possible to hyperlink a url in excel automatically. I mean when the cell starts with something like http or www can I hyperlink that. Currently, I have to hit enter in the cell value in the formula bar to make the link as clickable. Also if I change the value in the cell, the link doesnt get refreshed until I hit enter. Is there a way in excel where it will automatically detect and apply a hyperlink.

  • Windows 7 Login User Doesn't Exist [closed]

    I have another interesting issue... because of some issue with a lost password, I had to manually change the password to one of the accounts via and DOS hack. However, somehow in the process I now have a phantom username that I am asked to logon to when Windows first starts... This username doesn't exit. In order to login, I have to "change user" and manually type in the correct username. Is there a way that I can edit which username it prompts me for? I'd like to repair this without having to reinstall just yet.

  • Hiding elements based on last closed element jquery script

    Hi my question is, how can I make this jquery script close all previously opened children when entering a new parent? At the moment it traverses thru all the tree structure fine, but switching from one parent to another does not close the previous children, but rather only the each individual parents elements as a user browses. jquery isn't closing the children between each new parent so I need to make a call, but I'm a bit lost on how to do that.     I have an new Ubuntu (Hardy 8.04) server; it has two users, Alice and Bob. Alice is listed in sudoers. I appended my public ssh key (my local machine's public key local/Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa.pub) to authorized_keys in remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys, changed the permissions on Alice/.ssh/ to 700 and Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to 600, and both the file and folder are owned my Alice. Then added I Alice to sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice). This works and I can login into Alice: ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Server accepts key: pkalg ssh-rsa blen 277 debug1: Authentication succeeded (publickey). debug1: channel 0: new [client-session] debug1: Entering interactive session. Last login: Mon Mar 15 09:51:01 2010 from 123.456.789.00 I then copied the authorized_keys file remote_server/home/Alice/.ssh/authorized_keys to remote_server/home/Bob/.shh/authorized_keys and changed the permissions and ownership and added Bob to AllowUsers in sshd_config (AllowUsers Alice Bob). Now when I try to login to Bob it will not authenticate the same public key. ssh -v [email protected] ... debug1: Offering public key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_rsa debug1: Authentications that can continue: publickey debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/identity debug1: Trying private key: /Users/nick/.ssh/id_dsa debug1: No more authentication methods to try. Permission denied (publickey). Am I missing something fundamental about the way ssh works?

Can the author make the error message meaningful ? Will he ever make it so ? maybe this can be planned for version 3.14159265358979323846 ? In actuality I get one and a half pages of error which is completely unreadable and devoid of any logic or sense of respect for the user that is using Moose (in terms of intuitive error messages) just like the one above. What's to be done in this case ? I mean I get on my screen these error messages that are sometimes completely unrelated to the problem that I'm having (which I can assess after solving the problems that probably caused them, I say probably becuase I have no idea where these error messages came from because they look like they fell from the sky as they have no relation to the actual situation). Is this: the inexplicable dramatic destiny of the Perl programmer using Moose ? someone being extremely lazy and sloppy at writing error messages ? maybe on heavy drugs ? me not understanding basic english ? Gentlemen, when writing software, please please please, take care of the poor programmer that will use it and respect him by writing relevant error messages. (Except for error messages Moose is a pretty good piece of software)

  • Resons why I'm using php rather then asp.net [closed]

    I have basic idea of how asp .Net works, but finds all framework hard to use if you are a newbie. I found compiling, web applications vs websites and all that stuff you should know to program in asp .net a bit tedious and so personally I go with php to create small, to medium applications for my clients. There are couple of reasons for it: php is easy scripting language, top to bottom and you done. You still can create objects, classes and if you have idea of MVC its fairly easy to create basic structure yourself so you can keep you presentation layer "relatively" clean. Although I find myself still mixing basic logic in my view's, I am trying to stick to booleans, and for each loops. ASP .net keeps it cleaner as far as I know and I agree that this is great. Heaps of free stuff for php and lots of help everywhere Although choice of IDE's for php is very limited, I still don't have to be stuck with VisualStudio. Lets be honest.. you can program in whatever you like but does anyone uses anything else other than VS? For basic applications I create, Visual Studio doesn't come even close to notepad :) / phpEdit (or similar) combination. It lacks of many features I constantly use, although armies of developers are using it and it must be for good reason. Personally not a big fan of VS though. Being on the market for that long should make editing much easier. I know .Net comes with awesome set of controls, validators etc. which is truly awesome. For me the problem starts if I want my validator to behave slightly different way and lets say fade in/out error messages. I know its possible to extend it behavior, plug into lifecycle and output different JS to the client and so on. I just never see it happen in places I work, and honestly, I don't even think most of .net developers I worked with during last couple of years would know how to do that. In php I have to grab some plugin for jQuery and use it for validation, which is fairly easy task once you had done it before. Again I'm sure its easy for .net gurus, but for newbie like me its almost impossible. I found that many asp .net programmers are very limited in what they are able to do and basically whack together .net applications using same lame set of controls, not even bothering in looking into how it works and what if? Now I don't want to anger anyone :) I know there is huge number of excellent .Net developers who know their stuff and are able to extend controls and do all that magic in no time. I found it a bit annoying though that many of them stick to what is provided without even trying to make it better. Nothing against .net here, just a thought really :) I remember when asp.net came out the idea was that front-end people will not be able to screw anything up and do their fron-end stuff without worrying what happens behind. Now its never that easy and I always tend to get server side people to fix this and that during development. Things like ID's assigned to controls can very easily make your application break and if someone is pure HTML guy using VS its easy to break something. Thats my thoughs on php and .net and reasons why for my work I go with php. I know that once learned asp .net is awesome technology and summing all up php doesn't even come close to it. For someone like me however, individually developing small basic applications for clients, php seems to work much better. Please let me know your thoughts on the above :)

    Improve the name to match positively Starting just discussing the naming first ignoring tech details, lossless is a negative and double negative word for one good reason should get named more appropriate: Lossless also matches nothing. When naming like all intact or likewise matches something in a manner more physical like sounds are. Then more technically stated that a copy might contain more information than the original. Does method as such have a name, if so what do I refer to, can we name it if you please or just discuss related handling.

    Problem Statement The Sports Associations in India (SAI) wants to choose 2 teams of 4 people each to send to Asian games. There are 13 people who want to be members of the teams. The SAI tries grouping them in various ways to see which athletes perform well together. Each grouping gets one test run on the test track and their time is recorded. Your task is to help the SAI choose two disjoint teams of 4 such that the sum of their practice times is minimal. Input There will be several input instances. The first line of each instance gives the total number of practice runs. This will be followed by n lines. Each of those lines will contain 5 numbers: p1 p2 p3 p4 t t is the time taken (in milliseconds) by the team consisting of p1, p2, p3 and p4. The time taken will not be more than 2 minutes. The end of the input will be indicated by a line with n=0. Output Output the best total and the two teams that you choose. If it is impossible to choose two disjoint teams from the test runs given, output -1.
