• Converting MOD files to quicktime or mpeg for adobe premiere pro

  Ive been Editing lots of videos lately. My company got a video camera: Canon Legria FS200. It saves the movies in a digital format as MOD files. Unfortunately, Adobe Premiere doesnt work with these files. I needed software to convert MOD files to QuickTime or mpeg files. I found a good free one : Its called Mpeg StreamClip:  It works well. and its pretty fast. And its Free. • Tool Review: Telerik JustDecompile

  In the next few lines, I will be providing a brief review of Telerik’s JustDecompile, a free .Net decompiler and assembly browser. In using Telerik’s 2012 Q3 JustDecompile release, one can see many great features.  First off, I loved the built-in options for loading .Net assemblies automatically using the Open->Load Framework menu option. Other options enable loading assemblies from GAC, XAP URL or locally from disk. The ability to create an “Assembly List” is quiet handy for grouping and saving a “List” of DLLs to load. All loaded assemblies are shown in the left panel of a split-panel screen. Clicking an assembly expands all namespaces within. Drilling further to class level displays the actual source code in the right panel in either IL, C# or Visual Basic. In conclusion, JustDecompile has grown and quickly matured into an indispensible handy tool for us developers. Telerik’s effort in maintaining and updating JustDecompile as well as the company’s commitment to keeping it free is much appreciated and valued.

• On-line Based Conferencing For Admin Panel

  Working on my admin panels work station section which will allow the admin to use simple office tools such as word editors, calculators and whatnot. Under this section of the admin panel, I would like to add a conferencing feature which will allow any administrator to connect with another administrator 1-2-1 under the 1-2-1 Conferencing section, or to join a meeting under 'live meeting' section. Upon my search for on-line based, I found there are all these, what seem to be great applications out there, however not all of them are on-line based, and come with a price! I would like to a purely on-line based conferencing/meeting/1-2-1 feature which will allow administrators to communicate via text or sound, stream their video, share their screen and sending of files. I know this sounds like a big feature, and I am not asking for someone to answer by programming one for my website! Does anyone know my best solution to progress to having this feature on my website, any tutorials or free to use, free to modify web plugins? Thank you for your help, Best Regards, Tim

  Yesterday we officially launched our new YouTube channel.  Today we are announcing another initiative that we have been working on for a while: to help you learn common customization tasks, we are going to publish a series of detailed How-To documents with lots of screenshots.  Many of these will also be the script for a YouTube video, giving you the choice to see it in action or go through the steps yourself guided by a PDF document. The focus of the initial set of How-Tos will be JDeveloper/ADF customizations, but over time we will expand into other areas.  Today's first document is meant to get everyone up to the point where a JDeveloper environment is up and running: a white paper that shows you how to set up JDeveloper, configure the integrated WLS domain, and make a very, very simple customization work. • Best practice, or generally best way to set up web-hosting server, permissions, etc. [closed]

  Hi, I'm about to set up a server upon which a friend and I will be hosting web sites, and I'll be using Debian. I've set up a LAMP solution many times just to using for local testing purposes, but never for actual production use. I was wondering what are the best practices are in terms of setting the server up, in reference specifically to accessing the web root directory. A couple of the options I have seen: Set up a single user account on the server for us both to use and use a virtual host to point to the somewhere in the home directory, e.g. /home/webdev/www. Set each of us up a user account, and grant permissions in some way to /var/www (What would be the best way? Set up a new group?) I want to get this right when I first set this up as there won't be any going back for a while once our first site is up and running. Appreciate any guidance in advance.

  I am learning functionnal programming with Haskell, and I try to grab concepts by first understanding why do I need them. I would like to know the goal of arrows in functional programming languages. What problem do they solve? I checked http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Haskell/Understanding_arrows and http://www.cse.chalmers.se/~rjmh/afp-arrows.pdf. All I understand is that they are used to describe graphs for computations, and that they allow easier point free style coding. The article assume that point free style is generally easier to understand and to write. This seems quite subjective to me. In another article (http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Haskell/StephensArrowTutorial#Hangman:_Main_program), a hangman game is implemented, but I cannot see how arrows makes this implementation natural. I could find a lot of papers describing the concept, but nothing about the motivation. What I am missing?

• HTML5 Audio: Which formats? Ditch Ogg Vorbis in favor of Ogg Opus? Is MP3 still needed?

  I'm currently working on a website which has to stream audio files. Since bandwidth is always an issue, the file size should be as small as possible. I wonder what audio formats I should provide. MP3 - Most common format but low quality, I don't know if it's even required, since AAC is well supported by the browsers incapable of playing free codecs MP4 AAC - Nice quality / small filesize, supported by Safari / Mobile Devices / IE9 / Flash / Chrome A free codec - well, until recently, there only was Ogg Vorbis, but Ogg Opus is standardized now and it's really good! Questions: Is it time yet to use Opus instead if Vorbis? Firefox supports Opus since version 15, and Opera has support on its roadmap - I guess Chrome will follow in the future too. Do I still have to provide an MP3 file?

• Simple Hierarchical Clustering Implementations for C#?

  I need a C# library that can do hierarchical single/complete link clustering. It's for a BSc final year project and I can't find any free implementations. I'd be happy to port a small(ish) Java project to C#, but most of the Java implementations are contained within huge libraries that have 30+ algorithms. The problem with large libraries is that one has to port 50% of the entire library due to dependency fanout. I'd be extremely grateful if anyone knows of any free single/complete link clustering implementations for C# or a small Java implementation of either! By the way, as I am a student, it may be possible to ask for an academic/research license from commercial companies.

Users can now do iterative development against their Java Cloud Service instance in addition to testing against local and remote WebLogic Server installations.
