  • iPhone OS 3.2 File Sharing Path

    - by OscarTheGrouch
Currently I have this for my file path and file... NSURL *storeUrl = [NSURL fileURLWithPath: [[self applicationDocumentsDirectory] stringByAppendingPathComponent: @"Shared\PartyPlanner.sqlite"]]; This allows me to share the file with iTunes, but instead of just having 'PartyPlanner.sqlite' in the 'applicationDocumentsDirectory\Shared' I have "SharedPartyPlanner.sqlite" in the 'applicationDocumentsDirectory' is there a cleaner or easier way to get to the shared folder inside of applicationDocumentsDirectory?

  • Question about using ServiceModelEx's "WCFLogbook" from "Programming WCF Services" book

    - by Bill
I am attempting to compile/run a sample WCF application from Juval Lowy's website (author of Programming WCF Services & founder of IDesign). Of course the example application utilizes Juval's ServiceModelEx library and logs faults/errors to a "WCFLogbook" database. Unfortunately, when the sample app faults, I get the following new error: "Cannot open database "WCFLogbook" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'Bill-PC\Bill'." I suspect the error occurs as a result of not finding the "WCFLogbook" database, which I believe still needs to be created. Included in the library source directory, there are two files -WCFLogbookDataSet.xsd and WCFLogbook.sql; which neither seem to be referenced anywhere within the library code. This leads me to beleive that the sql and xsd files are there to be used to create the database somehow in SQL. Could someone please advise me if I am going in the correct direction here and if whether these files can be used to create the database (and if so, how)?

  • class weblogic.management.WeblogicMBean not found

    - by khue
Hi all I meet this problem when I try to run Junit test case in fork mode (starting each test in a separate JVM) using Build ant file. [junit] Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: weblogic/management/WebLogicMBean [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:621) [junit] at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:260) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:56) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:195) [junit] at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) [junit] at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:621) [junit] at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:260) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:56) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:195) [junit] at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(URLClassLoader.java:188) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:307) [junit] at sun.misc.Launcher$AppClassLoader.loadClass(Launcher.java:301) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:252) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClassInternal(ClassLoader.java:320) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) [junit] at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:621) [junit] at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:124) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.defineClass(URLClassLoader.java:260) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader.access$000(URLClassLoader.java:56) [junit] at java.net.URLClassLoader$1.run(URLClassLoader.java:195) .... I have the library weblogic.jar in my build library folders, which is set as classpath for the junit task. I look at this file and can't find the WeblogicMBean.class inside. However, in Jdev, I can import weblogic.management.WeblogicMBean into my class if I set library reference to this weblogic.jar file and compile my class without problem. Any suggestion of what really goes wrong? Thanks a lot.

  • iPad: CFBundleDocumentTypes & UIFileSharingEnabled issues

    - by carloe
Has anyone gotten UIFileSharingEnabled or CFBundleDocumentTypes to work? I added UIFileSharingEnabled as true to my plist and used Apple's example from the link below for CFBundleDocumentTypes, but can't seem to get it to work. I don't see my app under file sharing in iTunes, and I do not get the option to open documents I registered in my app when I click on them in the mail.app http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/General/Conceptual/iPadProgrammingGuide/CoreApplication/CoreApplication.html

  • Stanford iPhone dev Paparazzi 1 setup help

    - by cksubs
Hi, I'm having trouble using a tab bar control. Basically, when I build and run I'm just getting the blank white default "Window" screen. I was following this guide: http://www.iphoneosdevcafe.com/2010/03/assignment-4-part-1/#comment-36 Drag a Tab Bar Controller from the Library to MainWindow.xib. Control drag from the App Delegate to the Tab Bar Controller. Drag a Navigation Controller from the Library to MainWindow.xib. Control drag from the App Delegate to the Navigation Controller. Drag a second Navigation Controller from the Library to MainWindow.xib. Control drag from the App Delegate to the Navigation Controller. This completes all the connections between the App Delegate and the tab bar and two navigation controllers. By using IB to set up the tab bar and navigation controllers in this way, you need not allocate and init the controllers in AppDelegate.m. When you build and run this, you will see the tab bar controller and two navigation controllers. Is there a step there that he missed? How do I hook the Tab Bar Controller up to the Window? EDIT: Do I need to do something like this? mainTabBar = [[UITabBarController alloc] init]; [window addSubview:mainTabBar.view]; That's still not working, but I feel like I'm on the right track? Why can't this all be done from Interface Builder?

  • How to re codesign iPhone app binary ?

I'd like to send a binary to a client without the source code. How can here sign the app for distribution on it's own name without recompiling everything (since he does not have the source code) I'm not talking about adhoc distribution. I've tried to codesign -f with another distribution profile but itunes connect refuses it.

  • Dojo addOnLoad, but is Dojo loaded?

    - by adamrice32
I've encountered what seems like a chicken & egg problem, and have what I think is a logical solution. However, it occurred to me that others must have encountered something similar, so I figured I'd float it out there for the masses. The situation is that I want to use dojo's addOnLoad function to queue up a number of callbacks which should be executed after the DOM has completed rendering on the client side. So what I'm doing is as follows: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript" src="dojo.xd.js"></script> ... </head> <body> ... <script type="text/javascript"> dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); dojo.addOnLoad( ... ); ... </script> </body> </html> Now, the issue is that I seem to be calling dojo.addOnLoad before the entire Dojo library has been downloaded the browser. This makes sense in a way, because the inline SCRIPT contents should be executed before the entire DOM is loaded (and the normal body onload callback is triggered). My question is this - is my approach sound, or would it make more sense to register a normal/standard body onload JavaScript callback to call a function, which does the same work that each of the dojo.addOnLoads is doing in the SCRIPT block. Of course, this begs the question, why would you ever then use dojo.addOnLoad if you're not guaranteed that the Dojo library will be loaded prior to using the library? Hopefully this situation makes sense to someone other than me. Seems like someone else may have encountered this situation. Thoughts? Best Regards, Adam Rice

  • How do I declare an IStream in idl so visual studio maps it to s.w.interop.comtypes?

    - by Grahame Grieve
hi I have a COM object that takes needs to take a stream from a C# client and processes it. It would appear that I should use IStream. So I write my idl like below. Then I use MIDL to compile to a tlb, and compile up my solution, register it, and then add a reference to my library to a C# project. Visual Studio creates an IStream definition in my own library. How can I stop it from doing that, and get it to use the COMTypes IStream? It seems there would be one of 3 answers: add some import to the idl so it doesn't redeclare IStream (importing MSCOREE does that, but doesn't solve the C# problem) somehow alias the IStream in visual studio - but I don't see how to do this. • Using Unit Tests While Developing Static Libraries in Obj-C

    - by macinjosh
I'm developing a static library in Obj-C for a CocoaTouch project. I've added unit testing to my Xcode project by using the built in OCUnit framework. I can run tests successfully upon building the project and everything looks good. However I'm a little confused about something. Part of what the static library does is to connect to a URL and download the resource there. I constructed a test case that invokes the method that creates a connection and ensures the connection is successful. However when my tests run a connection is never made to my testing web server (where the connection is set to go). It seems my code is not actually being ran when the tests happen? Also, I am doing some NSLog calls in the unit tests and the code they run, but I never see those. I'm new to unit testing so I'm obviously not fully grasping what is going on here. Can anyone help me out here? P.S. By the way these are "Logical Tests" as Apple calls them so they are not linked against the library, instead the implementation files are included in the testing target.

  • KeepAlive packets over a Soap request

    - by Nycto
I've been debugging some Soap requests we are making between two servers on the same VLAN. The app on one server is written in PHP, the app on the other is written in Java. I can control and make changes to the PHP code, but I can't affect the Java server. The PHP app forms the XML using the DOMDocument objects, then sends the request using the cURL extension. When the soap request took longer than 5 minutes to complete, it would always wait until the max timeout limit and exit with a message like this: Operation timed out after 900000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received After sniffing the packets that were being sent, it turns out that the problem was caused by a 5 minute timeout in the network that was closing what it thought was a stale connection. There were two ways to fix it: bump up the timeout in iptables, or start sending KeepAlive packets over the request. To be thorough, I would like to implement both solutions. Bumping up the timeout was easy for ops to do, but sending KeepAlive packets is turning out to be difficult. The cURL library itself supports this (see the --keepalive-time flag for the CLI app), but it doesn't appear that this has been implemented in the PHP cURL library. I even checked the source to make sure it wasn't an undocumented feature. So my question is this: How the heck can I get these packets sent? I see a few clear options, but I don't like any of them: Write a wrapper that will kick off the request by shell_execing the CLI app. This is a hack that I just don't like Update the cURL extension to support this. This is a non-option according to Ops. Open the socket myself. I know just enough to be dangerous. I also haven't seen a way to do this with fsockopen, but I could be missing something. Switch to another library. What exists that supports this? Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Compiling a DLL which includes Ogre3D gives an assertion error when used

    - by samaursa
Hi, I have a framework that I am building and is being compiled into a static library to be used by other projects. The library works perfectly without issues. The problem is that the link time is very long for the projects that use the library so I thought I will make a DLL project of the same framework. I started with baby steps and created an MFC DLL project through visual studio. The project has the following header: /// -------------------------------------------- #ifndef OGRECORE_H #define OGRECORE_H #ifdef OGREFW_EXPORT #define OGREFW_DLL __declspec(dllexport) #else #define OGREFW_DLL __declspec(dllimport) #endif class OgreRoot; namespace OgreFW { class OGREFW_DLL OgreCore// : public OIS::KeyListener, public OIS::MouseListener { public: OgreCore(); ~OgreCore(); }; }; #endif // OGRECORE_H and this is the source #include "stdafx.h" #include "OgreCore.h" //#include "Ogre.h" //#include "OgreRoot.h" //#include "OgreRenderWindow.h" //#include "OgreLog.h" //#include "OgreLogManager.h" //#include "OgreOverlay.h" //#include "OgreViewport.h" //#include "OgreRenderWindow.h" //#include "OgreFrameListener.h" //#include "OgreWindowEventUtilities.h" //#include "OgreSceneNode.h" //#include "OgreEntity.h" //#include "OgreManualObject.h" //#include "OgreMeshManager.h" //#include "OgreConfigFile.h" //#include "OgreOverlayContainer.h" //#include "OgreOverlayManager.h" namespace OgreFW { OGREFW_DLL OgreCore::OgreCore() { } // ------------------------ OGREFW_DLL OgreCore::~OgreCore() { } } As you can see I have commented out Ogre includes. When a project uses the compiled DLL and constructs this (OgreCore) class, it works perfectly fine. As soon as uncomment one of the Ogre includes and compile the DLL again, the project that uses the DLL now gives an assertion error. The full details can be found here in the Ogre forum post. I posted the question there first but since its not really an Ogre specific question I thought I will try here as well. The link to the Ogre post is: http://www.ogre3d.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58403 Thank you in advance

  • Graphviz or Dynagraph for Graph-manipulation Program?

    - by noahlavine
I'm looking into writing a program that will show a graph to the user. The graph will change over time (the user should be able to right-click on a graph item and ask for more detail, which will pop out new bits of the graph), and the user might be able to drag parts of the graph around. I would ideally also like to be able to specify the relative layout of certain parts of the graph myself while leaving the overall layout up to a library, but that's not essential. I'm trying to decide on a graph layout library to use. As far as I can tell, the two leading candidates are Graphviz and Dynagraph. The Dynagraph website suggests that Graphviz is for drawing static graphs, and that Dynagraph was forked from Graphviz and contains algorithms for graphs that will be updated. It has a sample program called Dynasty that does exactly what I want. However, the Graphviz site contains an example program called Lefty which seems to do exactly what I want. Graphviz also seems to be much more widely used, judging by Google (and SO) results. Finally, I'd like to code the GUI part in a language like Python or Scheme, which makes me a bit hesitant to use C++ because I understand it's harder to interface that to interpreters. So my question is, which library is better for what I'm trying to do? Do they both have strong and weak points? Has one of them actually ceased development and is just leaving its website up to confuse me? (I've seen http://stackoverflow.com/questions/464000/simple-dynamic-graph-display-for-c and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2376987/open-source-libraries-to-design-directed-graphs, but I can't tell whether they're right about the Graphviz or Dynagraph choice because of Lefty and also the language issue.)

  • GH-Unit for unit testing Objective-C code, why am I getting linking errors?

    - by djhworld
Hi there, I'm trying to dive into the quite frankly terrible world of unit testing using Xcode (such a convoluted process it seems.) Basically I have this test class, attempting to test my Show.h class #import <GHUnit/GHUnit.h> #import "Show.h" @interface ShowTest : GHTestCase { } @end @implementation ShowTest - (void)testShowCreate { Show *s = [[Show alloc] init]; GHAssertNotNil(s,@"Was nil."); } @end However when I try to build and run my tests it moans with this error: - Undefined symbols: "_OBJC_CLASS_$_Show", referenced from: __objc_classrefs__DATA@0 in ShowTest.o ld: symbol(s) not found collect2: ld returned 1 exit status Now I'm presuming this is a linking error. I tried following every step in the instructions located here: - http://github.com/gabriel/gh-unit/blob/master/README.md And step 2 of these instructions confused me: - In the Target 'Tests' Info window, General tab: Add a linked library, under Mac OS X 10.5 SDK section, select GHUnit.framework Add a linked library, select your project. Add a direct dependency, and select your project. (This will cause your application or framework to build before the test target.) How am I supposed to add my project to the linked library list when all it accepts it .dylib, .framework and .o files. I'm confused! Thanks for any help that is received.

  • Umbraco XSLT issue

    - by Brad
I'm trying to use the Umbraco GetMedia function to write an image URL to the screen, I receive an error parsing the XSLT file. <xsl:for-each select="$currentPage/descendant::node [string(data [@alias='tickerItemActive']) = '1']"> <xsl:value-of select="data [@alias='tickerText']"/><br /> <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia(data [@alias='tickerImage'], 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> </xsl:for-each> The tickerImage field contains the MediaID for which I'd like to display the URL. I can return the field outside the GetMedia function and it works fine. I can also replace the data [@alias='tickerImage] with '1117' (or any valid media ID) the XSLT passes verification and the script runs. THIS WORKS: <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia('1117', 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> THIS DOES NOT: <xsl:value-of select="umbraco.library:GetMedia(data [@alias='tickerImage'], 0)/data [@alias = 'umbracoFile']"/> Any help that can be offered would is appreciated. • What is the difference: LoadUserProfile -vs- RegOpenCurrentUser

    - by Will5801
These two APIs are very similar but it is unclear what the differences are and when each should be used (Except that LoadUserProfile is specified for use with CreateProcessAsUser which I am not using. I am simply impersonating for hive accesss). LoadUserProfile http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb762281(VS.85).aspx RegOpenCurrentUser http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724894(VS.85).aspx According to the Services & the Registry article: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms685145(VS.85).aspx we should use RegOpenCurrentUser when impersonating. But what does/should RegOpenCurrentUser do if the user profile is roaming - should it load it? As far as I can tell from these docs, both APIs provide a handle to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER for the user the thread is impersonating. Therefore, they both "load" the hive i.e. lock it as a database file and give a handle to it for registry APIs. It might seem that LoadUserProfile loads the user profile in the same way as the User does when he/she logs on, whereas RegOpenCurrentUser does not - is this correct? What is the fundamental difference (if any) in how these two APIs mount the hive? What are the implications and differences (if any) between what happens IF A user logs-on or logs-off while each of these impersonated handles is already in use? A user is already logged-on when each matching close function (RegCloseKey and UnloadUserProfile) is called?

  • How to estimate the contribution of an individual to a software project?

    - by Amit Kumar
I work on a software project and would like to estimate the percentage out of the total contribution that I have put in the development of the software. Is there some tool doing this? Such a tool can be useful for appraisals or negotiations, for example. After all, we work for money (yes, not only money, put the point remains). I think there is enough hand-waving for the most important things. The estimation is very subjective (at least to me now) but I do not know of any tool that provides even a subjective estimate. I know of Sloccount that spells out the total effort using the lines of code but not on per-developer basis. My idea of an ideal tool for this purpose would: measure the complexity of the code (more complex is more effort, but more effort is not necessarily more contribution) measure the decomposibility/flexibility of the software (more decomposable is better) how much library code is used -- using library code speeds up the development process, increases the associated risk and requires the developer to know from before or learn about the library. be intelligent enough to differentiate between "who wrote the code", "who copied the code" and "who indented the code". It is difficult to differentiate between the complexity in the implementation and the intrinsic complexity of the problem. Perhaps a comparison can be made with an equivalent open source counterpart if there is, or for each submodule separately. If there is no such tool, is there no merit in having such a tool? Or do you believe in "I do work, I do not measure"? It takes time after all. Perhaps the project manager should do this estimation continuously, say, weekly. Are there any standards? Yes, standardization is difficult because every project has a different goal, but difficult does not mean it is not useful.

  • JSON: Jackson stream parser - is it really worth it?

    - by synic
I'm making pretty heavy use of JSON parsing in an app I'm writing. Most of what I have done is already implemented using Android's built in JSONObject library (is it json-lib?). JSONObject appears to create instances of absolutely everything in the JSON string... even if I don't end up using all of them. My app currently runs pretty well, even on a G1. My question is this: are the speed and memory benefits from using a stream parser like Jackson worth all the trouble? By trouble, I mean this: As far as I can tell, there are three downsides to using Jackson instead of the built in library: Dependency on an external library. This makes your .apk bigger in the end. Not a huge deal. Your app is more fragile. Since the parsing is not done automatically, it is more vulnerable to changes in the JSON text that it's parsing. I'm extremely worried that malformed JSON will result in infinite loops (as pull parsing requires a lot of while loops). Writing code to parse JSON via a stream parser is ugly and tedious.
