• How can I make a grid of clickable images from a list of data in WPF?

  Hello, I am a seasoned C and Java programmer, but an absolute WPF newbie. I am creating a kiosk application that will display a list of images of products that the user will click to see product details and maybe place an order. I am trying to structure my app with MVVM Foundation because I am used to the benefits of structure and tests. I wonder what is the most natural way to create a grid of clickable images that will fill the screen left to right, top to bottom (or the other way round, I have no exact requirements). Any image should be bound to an object that will become current and be displayed in the next screen. Thanks for your help.

• How can I do a bulk caller ID lookup (reverse phone lookup) on a list of phone numbers?

  I have a tab-delimited text file with all of the phone numbers I've called or received calls from in the past year. The phone numbers are all based in the US, so the format is ###-###-####. For tax purposes, I need to know which calls were personal and which ones were business-related. I could enter them all one-by-one into Google, but that will take forever because there are hundreds of numbers to check. Is there a program, MS Office plugin, or website that I can use to look up all of the numbers at once? If not, is there some way to create an Excel macro to do the lookups for me?

• Unable to cast lists with Reflection in C#

  I am having a lot of trouble with Reflection in C# at the moment. The app I am writing allows the user to modify the attributes of certain objects using a config file. I want to be able to save the object model (users project) to XML. The function below is called in the middle of a foreach loop, looping through a list of objects that contain all the other objects in the project within them. The idea is, that it works recursively to translate the object model into XML. If an objects attributes are lists, then it should recursively call "ReflectToXML" passing itself in as a parameter, thereby creating the nested structure I require that nicely reflect the object model in memory. The problem I have is with the line List<object> listObjects = (aInfo.GetValue(anObject,null) as List<object>); The cast doesn't work and it just returns null. While debugging I changed the line to object temp = aInfo.GetValue(anObject,null); slapped a breakpoint on it to see what "GetValue" was returning. It returns a "Generic list of objects" Surely I should be able to cast that? The annoying thing is that temp becomes a generic list of objects but because i declared temp as a singular object, I can't loop through it because it has no Enumerator. How can I loop through a list of objects when I only have it as a propertyInfo of a class? I know at this point I will only be saving a list of empty strings out anyway, but thats fine. I would be happy to see the structure save out for now. Thanks in advance

  I am attempting to create a custom Adapter for my ListView since each item in the list can have a different view (a link, toggle, or radio group), but when I try to run the Activity that uses the ListView I receive an error and the app stops. The application is targeted for the Android 1.6 platform. • Disabled FRS replication on a DFS link, but the targets still list the replica set in their FRS conf

  It's been a while since I've had to deal with the wonders of FRS, so I'm doing some testing to refresh my memory. This is what I've done so far. I am stuck with FRS rather than DFS-R for the moment since not all of my link targets are running R2. Created a domain-based DFS root, hosted on 4 servers. Created a DFS link under the root, targeted at 2 servers. The shares on both servers were empty. Dropped about 500MB of data into the target folder on one server and waited for replication to complete. Added/removed/modified files on both targets and confirmed that changes are replicated within a few seconds. Deleted the contents of the target folder on 1 server and waited for the other server to replicate the deletion. All of this worked perfectly, so now I want to remove my DFS link since I only created it for testing purposes. This is where it gets weird. I'm pretty sure that in the past I've disabled replication on the DFS link and after a short amount of time each target would log an info event in the FRS event log, something along the lines of "this server is no longer a member of replica set X". I have waited about 3 hours and I haven't seen this happen. ntfrsutl ds tells me that the server is not a member of any set, which is expected because when I disable replication on the link, the AD attributes on the computer object are removed. The weird part is... ntfrsutl sets still shows me the replica set, with all the properties, etc. So it seems like the FRS-related attributes of the target server's AD object are gone, but the FRS service for some reason hasn't removed the replica set. Can anyone see what I have done wrong?

Thus for each project we can have many tasks. now tasks list items are created by individual users and i have to create such a mechanism that the hours worked in project list must always be the sum of hours worked in tasks of that project. How can I achieve this.

• Cannot format first column in WxPython's ListCtrl

  If I set the format of the first column in a ListCtrl to align centre (or align right) nothing happens. It works for the other columns. This only happens on Windows - I have tested it on Linux and it works fine. Does anyone know if there is a work-round or other solution? • SQL server deadlock between INSERT and SELECT statement

  Hi! I've got a problem with multiple deadlocks on SQL server 2005. This one is between an INSERT and a SELECT statement. There are two tables. Table 1 and Table2. Table2 has Table1's PK (table1_id) as foreign key. Index on table1_id is clustered. The INSERT inserts a single row into table2 at a time. The SELCET joins the 2 tables. (it's a long query which might take up to 12 secs to run) According to my understanding (and experiments) the INSERT should acquire an IS lock on table1 to check referential integrity (which should not cause a deadlock). • mysqld-nt.exe exist in task list, but actually it's not running?

  mysqld-nt.exe is showing in the task manager, but I cannot connect to it. I tried: telnet localhost 3306 And it fails to connect. So I restarted the server,and it's ok. This happens every day.   I'd like to write down a BNF-like formal grammar for describing the command line usage of some GNU/Linux tools.   I'm having a problem instantiating a ListItem object with specified attributes. For some reason all attributes are set to nil even if I specify values. However, if I specify attributes for a List, they retain their values. • How to imitate focus on a div element?

  The scenario involves imitating a drop down list. Instead of the standard input select element, we're using a set of custom images in combination with a few CSS styles and jQuery behaviors. All in all, we have a drop down list that works just fine. The question revolves around a drop down list losing focus. A normal select element losing focus would automatically close the list, however, since we are using a set of divs, it's not possibly to set or lose focus(and subsequently hide the list). We've been able to imitate normal drop down behavior by hiding a text input behind the div and setting the focus to it dynamically. For example: User clicks drop down list - content list is displayed and hidden text input is set as focus. Event is bound to the text input losing focus which hides the content list. I'm curious if the community has a better approach to hiding a div when a user clicks off, presses escape, etc.
