  • Deploy Connectivity Platform Folder/Files

    I'm using the Microsoft.SmartDevice.Connectivity features, but I do not know how to get the CoreCon Folder and files under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\corecon\1.0\1033" deployed as part of an install project. The "new DatastoreManager(1033)" fails becouse users of my app do not have that folder and device xml files. Any Ideas of how to install or deploy those files? I assume I have those as part of an API I've installed, but can not pinpoint the source. Thanks

  • Update Statement Updates 0 Rows via the C# Winform Application?

    First of all, please help me out! I can not take this anymore. I could not find where the error is located. Here is my problem: I'm trying to update a row via c# winform application. The update query generated from the application is formatted correctly. I tested it in the sql server environment, it worked well. When i run it from the application i get 0 rows updated. Here is the snippet that generates the update statement using reflection - don't try to figure it out.     Hi! I'm doing a INSERT ... ON DUPLICATE KEY UPDATE but I need the update part to be conditional, only doing the update if some extra condition has changed. However, WHERE is not allowed on this UPDATE. Is there any workaround for this? I can't do combinations of INSERT/UPDATE/SELECT since this needs to work over a replication.

  • Handy SQL Server Functions Series (HSSFS) Part 2.0 - Prelude to Parsing Patterns Properly

    In Part 1 of the series I wrote about 2 lesser-known and somewhat undocumented functions. In this part, I'm going to cover some familiar string functions like Substring(), Parsename(), Patindex(), and Charindex() and delve into their strengths and weaknesses. I'm also splitting this part up into sub-parts to help focus on a particular technique and/or problem with the technique, hence the Part 2.0. Consider this a composite post, or com-post, if you will. (It may just turn out to be a pile of sh_t after all) I'll be using a contrived example, perhaps the most frustratingly useful, or usefully frustrating, function in SQL Server: @@VERSION. Contrived, because there are better ways to get the information (which I'll cover later); frustrating, because of the way Microsoft formatted the value; and useful because it does have 1 or 2 bits of information not found elsewhere. First let's take a look at the output of @@VERSION: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 (Intel X86) Apr 2 2010 15:53:02 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Developer Edition on Windows NT 5.1 <X86> (Build 2600: Service Pack 3) There are 4 lines, with lines 2-4 indented with a tab character.  In case your browser (or this blog software) doesn't show it correctly, I gave each line a different color.  While this PRINTs nicely, if you SELECT @@VERSION in grid mode it all runs together because it ignores carriage return/line feed (CR/LF) characters.  Not fatal, but annoying. Note that @@VERSION's output will vary depending on edition and version of SQL Server, and also the OS it's installed on.  Despite the differences, the output is laid out the same way and the relevant pieces are in the same order.     I am writing a blackberry application where i want to store the data returned by a web service in my BB device.Earlier i was going to use SQLite for storing the data in mobile but as i googled and also did programming using SQLite and found that some BB devices dont support SQLite library and fail to create the database.Then i decided to keep the data returned by webservice in a XML format on my BB device. I just want to know is there any method or way in blackberry through which i can parse the data stored in xml,update it,or directly access a particular record stored in the xml instead of traversing the whole xml n times and finding the matched record.   • Microsoft.Web.Administration.ServerManager can't read config sections containing encrypted passwords

    I have some sites in IIS7 that are configured to run as domain users (MYDOMAIN\someuser). I'm using the Microsoft.Web.Administration namespace to scan my server configuration, but it's throwing an exception when I hit one of these "impersonator" sites: using (ServerManager sm = new ServerManager()) { foreach (Site site in sm.Sites) { foreach (Application app in site.Applications.Reverse()) { foreach (VirtualDirectory vdir in app.VirtualDirectories.Reverse()) { var config = app.GetWebConfiguration(); foreach (var locationPath in config.GetLocationPaths()) { // error occurs in GetLocationPaths() } } } } } The actual error message is: COMException was unhandled Filename: \\?\C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\config\applicationHost.config Line number: 279 Error: Failed to decrypt attribute 'password' because the keyset does not exist It appears that IIS is storing the MYDOMAIN\someuser password encrypted in applicationHost.config, which is great in terms of security - but I have no idea how to get the ServerManager to decrypt this. Any tips on how I can either allow ServerManager to decrypt this, or just tell IIS to store the passwords in plain text? This is on IIS7 under Windows 7 RC, by the way.

    Hi, I'm new to iPhone development. I have a game loop setup as follows. (void)CreateGameTick:(NSTimeInterval) in_time { [NSThread detachNewThreadSelector:@selector(GameTick) toTarget:self withObject:nil]; } My basic game tick/render looks like this (void)GameTick { NSAutoreleasePool *pool = [[NSAutoreleasePool alloc] init]; CGRect wrect = [self bounds]; while( m_running ) { [self drawRect: wrect]; } [pool release]; } My render function gets called. However nothing gets drawn (I am using Core Graphics to draw some lines on a derived UIView). If I call my update via a timer then all is well and good. Can you tell me why the render fails when done via threads? And is it possible to make it work via threads? Thanks Rich

    I have been looking at sample online code for interfacing with the Windows Task Scheduler, and most of them import the namespace: Microsoft.Win32.TaskScheduler When I go to import it, it's not there within Win32. Does anyone know why I can't import it? I'm assuming something isn't registered correctly on my machine, but I can't fiugre out how to fix it. Just for the record, I can start the Scheduled Task component under Accessories. I've using VS 2008 (VB.Net) with Windows XP professional. Thanks.

  • Android TabHost: update tabs from tab's activity

    I have a TabActivity and am going to have 3 or 4 tabs. In TabA, I would like to have an ExpandableListView, which will list products. I would like TabC to act as a sort of "shopping cart", probably with a ListView of itself. So, my question is: is there a way to interact with the TabHost from the Activity? I would like to be able to click a button inside of TabA and have it update and switch to TabC. Is this possible? Can I get the Tab's activities call it's parents methods?

  • GCC vs Microsoft : Undefined reference to `_chkstk'?

    I am using CodeBlocks and MinGW toolchain which is essentially GCC. I was using VStudio but I want to get away from it to do cross platform development. There seems to be some microsoft specific references in some libraries that I am linking, specifically in CXImage SDK (_chkstk). I presume the library was put together using VS. From my searches I have learned that GCC uses _alloca rather than _chkstk. I still want to use CXImage for some stuff I am doing. My question: Is there a way around this problem or am I stuck with ditching libs such as this if I want to use GCC?

  • How to update data in the user information list when using FBA

    I've got to support a SharePoint web application which uses FBA with a custom membership and a custom role provider to authenticate the user against two different LDAPs. The user data are only stored in the user information lists. The SSP user profiles are not used. Now one of the users got married and therefore her surname got changed in the LDAP (the one where her information are stored). But this change doesn't get provisioned into the user information list. I wondering what option I have to provision changes of user data to the user information list. I've already tried to update the last name of the user manually, but it seems as if certain information like surname, first name are not editable in the user information list. I tried to edit them as a site administrator. So what option do I have to solve this problem? Being able to edit the information per hand would also be a solution but of course not the most preferred one.

    I know that when attaching an entity into a DataContext you have to also attach the related referenced objects manually too. While I'm attaching the EntityRef<'s everything works as expected and my entities are updated to the database. But i have noticed that a problem occurs while trying to attach the EntitySet<'s. I dont use rowversion columns so I'm attaching for every entity on the EntitySet< using original values. Tried just attaching AttachAll() the EntitySet< with no luck and no exception too. There is no exception but the update is not really happening. What am i missing?

  • pygtk - dynamically update the widgets taking input from the gtk combo box

    On selecting value from 1 to 10 from gtk combox box it should populate the checkbox by taking combo box value as an input. Say for example if i select 5 then 5 checkbox will be generated. It works.. But the issue is after i selected 5 now im selecting next value as 3 from combo box then there 8 checkboxes are displayed. The old 5 checkbox didnt get replaced. Is there any way to refresh the vbox(which has the checkboxes) or update to a new value. Enviroment : FC10 , Glade 2 , Python 2.5 , GTK.

However, from elsewhere in my code, how can I update the image (setImageResource) for one particular item in the grid based on its position in the GridView?     My friend just updated her Windows Vista to service pack 1, or tried to. Now it wont boot up. Just black screen, some errors etc. I tried googling it and lots of people had this problem it seems. Anyone find a fix for it? I read somewhere I believe that Microsoft said to delete some files, Nvidia maybe? But I can not find that again, I forgot the exact error code I searched for before.   • Entity Frameworks 4 - Changing the model does not update the T4 self tracking template files

    I am using self tracking entities and have moved the entity classes to another assembly by using 'Add as link' to point to the TT file as mentioned here. Now though, when I update the model (for instance change a property name) the template is not automatically run and so the entity class does not get updated. I can of course manually run the template to get the updates, but it would be easier if it ran automatically in the way it did before I moved the classes. Is there any way to achieve this? Darren.

    I'm having an issue in a WPF application using the RichTextBox where content being pasted in from Microsoft Word is mangled. To work around the issue, I found that Word includes a metafile on the clipboard, and I can get the metafile from the clipboard using interop (WPF wouldn't properly import the metafile either). My problem, though, is that a metafile is scalable and so whether a user pastes a whole page of content or a small amount, the metafile claims that its Width is 4390. However, if I strip the clipboard of everything but the metafile and paste it into MSPaint, the resulting bitmap in paint has properly scaled the pasted metafile, so it seems to me that there must be some information somewhere that indicates the real size. Does anyone know how to get the proper expected size of the Metafile?

  • AJAX and iFrame: Calling AJAX from inside the iFrame to Update an Outside DIV

    Hi there, I have a page where a user can upload a file along with some other input. Because I wanted this to be AJAX-like, I resorted to using an iFrame to accomplish this. After the file is uploaded and an iFrame is loaded with a response page, I need to update a DIV outside of the iFrame with an AJAX call. The reason for separate updates, is that the result of the outside DIV depends on the input that the user provided with the file input. Can this be done? Am I approaching this the wrong way? Thank you!
