    I am getting the error Cannot resolve TargetName grdGeneral. What I am trying to do is have a fade out function which accepts a grid and fades the opacity to zero. I have this function called on MouseLeftButtonDown and is loaded after the xaml and form has loaded.   • How to insert inline content from one FlowDocument into another?

    I'm building an application that needs to allow a user to insert text from one RichTextBox at the current caret position in another one. I spent a lot of time screwing around with the FlowDocument's object model before running across this technique - source and target are both FlowDocuments: using (MemoryStream ms = new MemoryStream()) { TextRange tr = new TextRange(source.ContentStart, source.ContentEnd); tr.Save(ms, DataFormats.Xaml); ms.Seek(0, SeekOrigin.Begin); tr = new TextRange(target.CaretPosition, target.CaretPosition); tr.Load(ms, DataFormats.Xaml); } This works remarkably well. The only problem I'm having with it now is that it always inserts the source as a new paragraph. It breaks the current run (or whatever) at the caret, inserts the source, and ends the paragraph. That's appropriate if the source actually is a paragraph (or more than one paragraph), but not if it's just (say) a line of text. I think it's likely that the answer to this is going to end up being checking the target to see if it consists entirely of a single block, and if it does, setting the TextRange to point at the beginning and end of the block's content before saving it to the stream. The entire world of the FlowDocument is a roiling sea of dark mysteries to me. I can become an expert at it if I have to (per Dostoevsky: "Man is the animal who can get used to anything."), but if someone has already figured this out and can tell me how to do this it would make my life far easier.

    So I want to add an iCal file to a web page, so that people can add an event to their calendars. But when I view the event in my calendar (Outlook 2007) I want to see everyone who will be attending. How can I do that? I just started experimenting with this, I used Outlook's Save As to create an iCal file for a single event. That works, I can link to that file and other people can add the event to their calendars. But it doesn't tell me who has added it.     I'm trying to do something that I thought ought to be reasonably simple but I keep failing... Maybe I just need more coffee, but I thoguht i see if anyone else has solved the problem already. I've got a report, it contains a pile off rows. I want the row to show up grouped by one column called office. I want the groups of offices sorted by their column region. I want the rows within the office group sorted by column name. so it'd show up like this Region1 Agency a a b c Agency b a b Region 2 Agency a1 a b c etc... I can get the grouping, I can get the groups sorted by region. but I can't get the contents of the group to be sorted by name. my curret guess was Group by Office then in the sort tab, sort by region, then office, then name. no joy. Any help is appreciated. if it's relavant I'm using c# and vs2008. Thanks, E-

It looks like: A first chance exception of type 'System.NotSupportedException' occurred in PresentationCore.dll The number of exceptions generates equals the number of thumbnails to be generated. Using "trial and error" I have isolated the problem to: BitmapFrame.Create(bi) Removing that line (makes my function useless) also removes the exception. I have not found any explanation to this,,, or a better method to create thumbnails i a background thread. Can anyone help me? //lasse

    I am working on outlook add-in project using Visual studio 2008 for MS Outlook 2007 in C#. Here I am explaining my problem... I got multiple accounts (3 Accounts) with my outlook 2007. I need to get accounts form Account box in New Mail Message window. When we click New Mail Message, a new window will appear from which we can send a new mail. Here (On this window) we can see Account Dropdown (Left side) under the Send Button. If we have multiple accounts with outlook, we can see all the accounts in Account Drop Down if we click on Account Box. If we click on the particular email, a right mark will appear to that Email Account and a message can bee seen on the top of the Send button is "This message will be sent via [email protected]". So, I want to get these email accounts into a string and that particular email account (which has right mark) into another string. I got these 3 email accounts into a string. But, I am not getting the particular email account(which has the right mark when we send a new email).   • Is there a programming toolkit for converting "any file type" to a TIFF image?

    Hello, I've written several variations of a program. The purpose of the program is to convert "any file type" to a TIFF image represenation of that file, as if it were being printed using a printer. I'm currently using a third party printer driver that I send files to, and it outputs a TIFF image. This is nice, but it requires me to use Office Interop files, and interact with each individual processing application in order to print the files. I had previously tried a toolkit, called Apose .NET, which did not rely on Office Interop, and did not require any printer driver. It did the conversion all on its own and would create a TIFF image. The problem with Aspose .NET was that it did not support a wide variety of input file types. Most notably, it can't do Visio files. My project calls for the ability to create a TIFF image for virtually "any file type". (excluding exes, music files, and stuff) I know that finding something that handles literally any file type is probably not a very feasible task, so I figure if it can at least handle all the Office file types, Adobe types, and other major standard file types, then I can write a custom extension parsing module that uses those processing applications to do the printing of any file type that can be viewed using those applications. So, does anyone know of a toolkit that can do this? Preferably one that does not rely on Office or a printer driver. It does not have to be free, or open source. Or, if you know of an amazing printer driver that does this, I'm open to that too. Thanks in advance, Ryan

    Pressing the back button causes onPause to be called, and the app stays paused until it is re-launched by clicking on the icon, at which point, onDestroy gets called, and the main activity continues to shut down. Simple class to demonstrate. Note, as far as I can tell, this only happens on the Nexus One.   • Which are the RDBMS that minimize the server roundtrips? Which RDBMS are better (in this area) than

    When the latency is high ("when pinging the server takes time") the server roundtrips make the difference. Now I don't want to focus on the roundtrips created in programming, but the roundtrips that occur "under the hood" in the DB engine, so the roundtrips that are 100% dependant on how the RDBMS is written itself. I have been told that FireBird has more roundtrips than MySQL. But this is the only information I know. I am currently supporting MS SQL but I'd like to change RDBMS (because I use Express Editions and in my scenario they are quite limiting from the performance point of view), so to make a wise choice I would like to include also this point into "my RDBMS comparison feature matrix" to understand which is the best RDBMS to choose as an alternative to MS SQL. So the bold sentence above would make me prefer MySQL to Firebird (for the roundtrips concept, not in general), but can anyone add informations? And MS SQL where is it located? Is someone able to "rank" the roundtrip performance of the main RDBMS, or at least: MS SQL, MySql, Postegresql, Firebird (I am not interested in Oracle since it is not free, and if I have to change I would change to a free RDBMS). Anyway MySql (as mentioned several times on stackoverflow) has a not clear future and a not 100% free license. So my final choice will probably dall on PostgreSQL or Firebird. Additional info: somehow you can answer my question by making a simple list like: MSSQL:3; MySQL:1; Firebird:2; Postgresql:2 (where 1 is good, 2 average, 3 bad). Of course if you can post some links where the roundtrips per RDBMSs are compared it would be great

    This is my first post. I am currently working on a project at work which requires that I work with several different worksheets in order to create one mail master worksheet, as it were, in order to do a mail merge. The worksheet contains information regarding different purchases, and each purchaser is identified with their own ID number. Below is an example of what my spreadsheet looks like now (however I do have more columns): ID Salutation Address ID Name Donation ID Name Tickets 9 Mr. John Doe 123 12 Ms. Jane Smith 100.00 12 Ms.Jane Smith 300.00 12 Ms. Jane Smith 456 22 Mr. Mike Man 500.00 84 Ms. Jo Smith 300.00 What I would like to do is somehow sort my data so that everythign with the same unique identifier (ID) lines up on the same row. For example ID 12 Jane Smith - all the information for her will show up under her name matched by her ID number, and ID 22 will match up with 22 etc... When I merged all of my spreadsheets together, I sorted them all by ID number, however my problem is, not everyone who made a donation bought a ticket or some people just bought tickets and nothing us, so sorting doesn't work.
