  • LinkageError thrown when attempting to pass instance of class between 2 eclipse plugins

    I have found many people with simliar issues but no soultions...basically I have two eclipse plug-ins that both in ther class path rely on the same jar. The UI plug-in replies on the Driver plug-in (implementing a custom ODA driver and UI for it).   • Difficulty setting ArrayList to java.sql.Blob to save in DB using hibernate

    I'm trying to save a java ArrayList in a database (H2) by setting it as a blob, for retrieval later. If this is a bad approach, please say - I haven't been able to find much information on this area. I have a column of type Blob in the database, and Hibernate maps to this with java.sql.Blob. The code I'm struggling with is: Drawings drawing = new Drawings(); try { ByteArrayOutputStream bos = new ByteArrayOutputStream(); ObjectOutputStream oos = null; oos = new ObjectOutputStream(bos); oos.writeObject(plan.drawingPane21.pointList); byte[] buff = bos.toByteArray(); Blob drawingBlob = null; drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); drawing.setDrawingObject(drawingBlob); } catch (Exception e){ System.err.println(e); } The object I'm trying to save into a blob (plan.drawingPane21.pointList) is of type ArrayList<DrawingDot>, DrawingDot being a custom class implementing Serializable. My code is failing on the line drawingBlob.setBytes(0, buff); with a NullPointerException. Help appreciated.

    In this example com.test.Cat extends com.test.Animal and there is no field DB in CAT table of com.test.Cat explicitly defining its type (it wasn't me). When I query my animals from DB I get a collection of Animals. It is possible to sort them by class name: order by r.class but is there a way to use class name as a criteria? For example I would like to get all animals expect dogs. But no luck - even this does not work: where r.class = ?     I just put my asp .net web service on a remote host. The service accesses an oracle db on my local machine. The service worked fine when it was running on localhost but since moving to a remote hos, I get The provider is not compatible with the version of Oracle client at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleInit.Initialize() at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection..cctor() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Oracle.DataAccess.Client.OracleConnection..ctor(String connectionString) at.... I know the error is related to the data provider version running on the server/client. In my case, the only dll I referenced in the project was Oracle.DataAccess So how do I go about solving this?   • Oracle data provider hangs IIS worker process when web site is stopped

    We're experiencing a nasty issue in Oracle 11g Release 2 where the w3wp process takes over and entire processor core, and debugging shows that the Oracle data provider is throwing ThreadAbortExceptions infinitely. A developer found this issue by doing the following: 1) Browse a web site that uses Oracle data connections locally (http://localhost/OracleWebSite) - we use IIS, not the ASP.NET dev server, for all of our sites. This ensures that the w3wp process is running and that an active Oracle pool of connections exists in the app pool. 2) Stop the web site (or perform a Rebuild All operation in Visual Studio on the web site in question). Our Oracle connection handling in the affected applications (all Oracle web apps) is well-established and robust. This issue does not occur if we disable connection pooling. This issue does not occur in Oracle 11g Release 1.

  • Dynamically Insert Variables into DB Table using PreparedStatement

    I was working with PreparedStatement today and noticed that it used setString() setTimestamp() etc. to insert variables into the DB. I basically have 20 tables each with at least 15 columns and it would not be feasible for me to manuallt write down all the setters. Considering that I have an ArrayList "Vals" which contains all the variables to be inputted in String format (obtained by getString() using PreparedStatement itself), is there any way I can do an insert without using expressly using the Setters? That would save me a lot of time.

In my Java Control Panel it says I am using version 1.8.0_20 and my JDK is jdk1.8.0_20. Does anyone see anything super obvious that I am doing wrong here?

  • Clearing Java certificates cache (force reload certificates)

    A simple question here. One application gave me this exception when trying to access a website with a expired certificate: java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException So, I renewed the certificated from the website machine and restarted it. When I try to access it from Firefox or Chrome it will load the new certificate (which it's expiration date is set somewhere near 2040). The problem is, Java applications doesn't seems to renew this certificate, it seems to be stuck in some kind of internal cache. I already tried to add it to the keystore and set options in the application properties like -Dcom.sun.net.ssl.checkRevocation=false. No matter what I do, it always throw me a java.security.cert.CertificateExpiredException Any ideas?

    We have a desktop Java application running within a Citrix Metaframe server farm and the performance, specially while starting up the app, is very unreliable. Sometimes it takes 15 seconds and sometimes it takes over a minute. It's really unpredicatable. Is there any way to optimize running Java desktop applications within Citrix Metaframe Terminal server sessions to a more reliable performance level? Are there any optimization directed specifically toward Java, such as pre-load JVMs or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

After I upgrade the IE8, the graphics which has dynamics reading from the server is not updating and it shows NaN. I tried the following : - upgrade the server win2003 with latest Java version(JRE and JDT) , but the problem still exist in cliend PC(XP). -I upgraded the server IE8, then all user lost the connection even from inside the server. then I recall the prev version IE7.

    Hello, I need to install a program for my studies and, this program, need java to run. When I try to perform the installation say that cannot find the JDK; since the JDK is already installed by default in mac, the problem is export the java home. I´ve try a lot and I cant do it! I know that I have to add a line in a .bashrc file (or .profile, or .bash_profile) I´ve created all those files, at different times but nothing... I´m a new mac user, but I use Linux too and I dont know what happened, I just need to export java home to perform my work... and is really necessary for me to add environment variables too. Thanks for your help
