How to print out information about Task Scheduler in powershell script?

I am trying to print out information from the Task Scheduler from the local computer in a powershell script so other users can print out this information as well and not have to access the Task Scheduler. I need the script to print out the name, status, triggers, next run time, last run time, last run result, author and created. I can print out the information about the name, next run time, and last run time, but the rest wont print out when i run the script. A) What are the risks ?( besides show table issue) B) After setting lower_case_table_names=1, will I be in position to query databases across multiple platforms consistantly ? select * from USERS == select * from users; C) How the triggers + stored procedure + functions + views + events will be affected in this regards. I know lower_case_table_names is only for "TABLE" names but how about triggers other database objects . Will they remain case-insensitive How about views ? D) Do I need to rename all tables before/after this configuration setting or this will do the miracle in one step (i.e lower_case_table_names=1 neutralize table names) ? E) What will be the exact steps WRT:mysqd / my.ini ?

Using C# FindControl to find a user-control in the master page

So all I want to do is simply find a user control I load based on a drop down selection. I have the user control added but now I'm trying to find the control so I can access a couple properties off of it and I can't find the control for the life of me. I'm actually doing all of this in the master page and there is no code in the default.aspx page itself. Any help would be appreciated. Delphi: how to create Firebird database programmatically

I'm using D2K9, Zeos 7Alpha, and Firebird 2.1 I had this working before I added the autoinc field. Although I'm not sure I was doing it 100% correctly. I don' know what order to do the SQL code, with the triggers, Generators, etc.. I've tried several combinations, I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong other than just that for this not to work. Why is AutoCompleteExtender not firing?

Hi, I have some issue with the ASP AutoCompleteExtender control. I got one in my page that is working fine, but I have put another one in the same page, and I can't get it to work. Using HTTP Analyzer, no query is fired when I type into the textbox associated with it. Has anyone an idea? Both call the same webservice, with a different ContextKey parameter. The webservice cannot be the cause as it works in the first case (DevMgrTxtBox), and is not even called in the second (DevTxtBox). Properties of both controls are similar, I just changed the ID and targetControlID of the second. The code below is in a ContentPlaceHolder. I'm using VS2005 with .NET 2.0. AjaxControlToolkit.dll is in version 1.0.20229.0. EDIT: solution found. The ID is not the only thing that needs to be unique, the BehaviorID property must be unique too. Debugging .NET 2.0 assembly from unmanaged code in VS2010?

I’ve run into a serious snag trying to debug a .NET 2.0 assembly that is called from unmanaged code in Visual Studio 2010. I maintain a host of components that using COM interop and custom .NET runtime hosting and ever since installing Visual Studio 2010 I’ve been utterly blocked by VS 2010’s inability to apparently debug .NET 2.0 assemblies when launching through unmanaged code. Here’s what I’m actually doing (simplified scenario to demonstrate): I have a .NET 2.0 assembly that is compiled for COM Interop Compile project with .NET 2.0 target and register for COM Interop Set a breakpoint in the .NET component in one of the class methods Instantiate the .NET component via COM interop and call method The result is that the COM call works fine but the debugger never triggers on the breakpoint. If I now take that same assembly and target it at .NET 4.0 without any other changes everything works as expected – the breakpoint set in the assembly project triggers just fine. The easy answer to this problem seems to be “Just switch to .NET 4.0” but unfortunately the application and the way the runtime is actually hosted has a few complications. Specifically the runtime hosting uses .NET 2.0 hosting and apparently the only reliable way to host the .NET 4.0 runtime is to use the new hosting APIs that are provided only with .NET 4.0 (which all by itself is lame, lame, lame as once again the promise of backwards compatibility is broken once again by .NET). So for the moment I need to continue using the .NET 2.0 hosting APIs due to application requirements. I’ve been searching high and low and experimenting back and forth, posted a few questions on the MSDN forums but haven’t gotten any hints on what might be causing the apparent failure of Visual Studio 2010 to debug my .NET 2.0 assembly properly when called from un-managed code. Incidentally debugging .NET 2.0 targeted assemblies works fine when running with a managed startup application – it seems the issue is specific to the unmanaged code starting up. My particular issue is with custom runtime hosting which at first I thought was the problem. But the same issue manifests when using COM Interop against a .NET 2.0 assembly, so the hosting is probably not the issue. Handling DataGrid.SelectedItems in an MVVM-friendly manner

An interesting question from one of the MVVM Light users today: Is there an MVVM-friendly way to get a DataGrid’s SelectedItems into the ViewModel? The issue there is as old as the DataGrid (that’s not very old but still): SelectedItem (singular) is a DependencyProperty and can be databound to a property in the ViewModel. SelectedItems (plural) is not a DependencyProperty. Thankfully the answer is very simple: Use EventToCommand to call a Command in the ViewModel, and pass the SelectedItems collection as parameter. What the Hekaton?

Hekaton, the power behind SQL Server 2014′s In-Memory OLTP technology, is intended to make data operations run orders of magnitude faster on SQL Server. This works its magic partly by serving database workloads entirely from main memory, using memory-optimized table structures. It replaces the relational engine’s standard locking model with an optimistic concurrency model based on time-stamped row versions. Deeper down the Hekaton engine uses new, ‘latch free’ data structures. So far, so good, but performance improvements on this scale require a compromise, and the compromise is that these aren’t tables as we understand them. For the database developer, these differences are painful because they involve sacrificing some very important bits of the relational model. Most importantly, Hekaton tables don’t currently support FOREIGN KEY constraints or CHECK constraints, and you can’t put the checks in triggers because there aren’t any DML triggers either. Constraints allow a relational designer to enforce relational integrity and data integrity. Without them, of course, ‘bad data’ can get into our Hekaton tables. There is no easy way of preventing it. For several classes of database and data, this is a show-stopper. One may regard all these restrictions regretfully, seeing limited opportunity to try out Hekaton with current databases, but perhaps there is also a sudden glow of recognition. Isn’t this how we all originally imagined table variables were going to be, back in SQL 2005? And they have much the same restrictions. Maybe, instead of pretending that a currently-designed database can be ‘Hekatonized’ with a few mouse clicks, we should redesign databases for SQL 2014 to replace table variables with Hekaton tables, exploiting this technology for fast intermediate processing, and for the most part forget, for now, the idea of trying to convert our base relational tables into Hekaton tables. Few database developers would be averse to having their working tables running an order of magnitude faster, as long as it didn’t compromise the integrity of the data in the base tables.

VCS strategy with TeamCity and CI

I'm planning a strategy which seeks to allow automated deployment of a website codebase into QA and production on check-in. We're using the fabulous TeamCity. We want to control release to live production; i.e. not have every check-in on Trunk go live. So my plan is to use Trunk as QA. Committing to Trunk triggers deployment to QA. I will then have a Production branch which also triggers deployment on commit, to the live site. The idea is simply that Trunk represents the mainline codebase but it hasn't gone live yet. We can branch features and do daily pulls from Trunk into those feature branches as per normal and merge/re-integrate into Trunk when we're happy for it to go to QA. When the BAs give the nod, we then smash a bottle of champagne and merge Trunk to Production and out she goes. I've never seen it done like this. Other greenfield CI strategies involve hiding features and code from production via config - this codebase can't cope with that - or just having CI on QA and taking cuts and manually pushing to live. Does my plan sound alright?

Cannot create a neutral unit with a trigger

I've been playing around with the starcraft UMS (Use map settings) for a while and usually i figure things out pretty quickly when im stuck. Alas not this time. I'm trying to place a neutral unit (player 12) using a trigger. It refuses to work. I'm using Scmdraft 2.0 as my editor (but i cant get it to work in other editors either) (all neutral units placed before the game starts are visible and all other triggers work fine. Also i created a text msg and it does displays it in-game so the trigger triggers ) For testing I created a trigger that looks like this: Player: neutral (i tried neutral players player 1 and all players as well) Condition: -always Action: -Create *1 Terran Medic* at '*location 022*' for *Neutral* (also tried neutral players) When I start the game nothing happens. Here is what I tried: I tried placing a start location for neutral player (player 12) I tried changing the owner under map properties of player 12 to neutral and computer from unused which was the default. Although it seems like it should be a common enough problem, I don't see it in any FAQ and I cant find anything about it when I Google it. Thanks in advance.

Access Control Service: Passive/Active Transition Sample

Here you can find my updated ACS2 sample. In addition to the existing front ends (web [WS-Federation], console [SOAP & REST], Silverlight [REST]) and error handling, it now also includes a WPF client that shows the passive/active transition with a SOAP service as illustrated here. All the ACS interaction is encapsulated in a WPF user control that: retrieves the JSON feed displays a list of supported identity providers triggers the sign in via a browser control retrieves the token response packages the token as a GenericXmlSecurityToken (to be used directly with the WIF ChannelFactory extensions methods) All you need to supply is the ACS namespace and the realm. Mini Book Review of IronRuby Unleashed by Shay Friedman

When I get some time (and hell starts to look a little chilly) I would love to do a more detailed review. But I wanted to get something “out there” as I really like this book and reviews of it seem a little thin on the ground. In brief: Is it a good book? Yes Would I recommend this book to a .NET developer who was new to Ruby? Yes (This is me by the way) Would I recommend this book to a Ruby developer who was new to .NET ? Yes Would I recommend this book to a developer who sometimes does Ruby and sometimes does .NET? Yes Would I recommend this book to a developer new to .NET and new to Ruby? Yes The above demonstrates how well balanced this book is (IMHO). What I like about it: Its assumes pretty much no knowledge of IronRuby or .NET. All it asks is that you are a developer interested in IronRuby. Yet it manages to cover off the topics in a good degree of detail. If you are a Ruby developer you skip Part 2, if you are a .NET developer you skip some of Part 1 and whizz through the short intros to the individual technologies such as WPF. It is definitely not a “lets makes the manual look pretty” book – this is original content thoughtfully written and presented. It is pretty comprehensive – in 500 pages it packs in Intro to IronRuby Intro to .NET Intro to Ruby Using IronRuby with Windows Forms, ASP.NET, WPF, Silverlight etc Getting Rails working with IronRuby Unit testing with IronRuby – which I think is an excellent way for a .NET developer to start using IronRuby Embedding IronRuby in a .NET app - another interesting “first step” for a .NET developer What I didn’t like: Err… nothing yet. Ok, If I am being picky then the start of chapter 2 irked me a little as it went through the history of .NET. “The first version [of the .NET Framework] wasn’t that great”.
