• Gerrit ssh key setup on windows server

  I am attempting to configure google's 'Gerrit' code review web app on a Windows server 2008 virtual machine on our internal network. We are using Apache Tomcat (6.0.36) to host the web app and have deployed the gerrit.war to tomcats webapp folder, setup the context.xml, web.xml etc for the web app correctly i believe. However when i startup Tomcat using the $CATALINA_HOME/bin/startup.bat i get the following message in the tomcat logs: *Dec 07, 2012 1:03:54 PM org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext listenerStart SEVERE: Exception sending context initialized event to listener instance of class com.google.gerrit.httpd.WebAppInitializer com.google.inject.CreationException: Guice creation errors:* 1) No SSH keys under C:\Gerrit\config\etc while locating com.google.gerrit.sshd.HostKeyProvider at com.google.gerrit.sshd.SshModule.configure(SshModule.java:90) I have created a is_rsa.pub SSH key and placed it in the specified directory to no avail. I have been googling this for about a week now and can't seem to find any information about the file or format it is expecting... documentation on setting gerrit up on windows seems hard to come by! Can anyone provide useful information about how to correctly configure a host SSH key in this context?

• What could cause these "failed to authenticate" logs other than failed login attempts (OSX)?

There are about 11 of these "failed to authenticate" messages logged in quick succession. It looks to me like someone is sitting there trying to guess the password. However, when I tried to replicate this I get the same log messages except that this extra message appears after five attempts: 13/03/10 1:18:48 PM DirectoryService[11] Failed Authentication return is being delayed due to over five recent auth failures for username: tom. I don't want to accuse someone of trying to break into an account without being sure that they were actually trying to break in. My question is this: is it almost definitely someone guessing a password, or could the 11 "failed to authenticate" messages be caused by something else? EDIT: The actual user wasn't logged in, or using a computer at the time of the log in attempts.

• What happened to 'Copy Public Gallery Link' for folders in Photos in Dropbox?

  I've been trying to figure out how to use the 'Photos' folder properly, but it does not seem to contain the functionality that is mentioned on various websites. From what I've read, you are supposed to create a folder within the 'Photos' folder. At that point, it becomes a public gallery for which you can access the context menu item Copy Public Gallery Link. However, I do not have this context menu item. I found a topic on the DropBox forum, but it is 2 years old. Even the various website information mentioned is over a year old. I found a topic from this year on SuperUser that mentions about the Share link menu item. I understand that this functionality is basically the same as Copy Public Gallery Link, however, the key difference is that it opens the website for which I need to click 'Copy link to this page' link, which then adds it to the clipboard. My primary questions are: Did they phase out the Copy Public Gallery Link from the context menu entirely? If not, is there a way to re-enable this menu item? If not, am I using the Photos folder properly? Lastly, if there is no way to get this menu item, is there some kind of script or hack-around that will let me simplify the Shark link + Copy link to this page functionality without requiring it to open my web browser?   I have a legacy application that used binary serialisation to persist the data. Now we wanted to use Json.net 4.5 to serialise the data without much changes to the existing classes. Things were working nice till we hit a circular dependent class. Is there any workaround to solve this problem? The 1st row just consists of a blank ImageView as a placeholder and an EditText to enter text. • java 7 upgrade and hibernate annotation processor error

  I am getting the following warning, which seems to be triggering a subsequent warning and an error. I have been googling like mad, though have not found anything that makes it clear what it is I should do to resolve this. This issue occurs when I execute an Ant build. I am trying to migrate our project to Java 7. I have changed all the source='1.6' and target="1.6" to 1.7. I did find this related article: Forward compatible Java 6 annotation processor and SupportedSourceVersion It seems to indicate that I should build the Hibernate annotation processor jar myself, compiling it with with 1.7. It does not seem I should be required to do so. The latest version of the class in question (in hibernate-validator-annotation-processor-5.0.1.Final.jar) has been compiled with 1.6. Since the code in said class refers to SourceVersion.latestSupported(), and the 1.6 of that returns only RELEASE_6, there does not seem to be a generally available solution. • Mac - Flash file not loaded in independent flash player

  Hi, I am working on an independent application to play flash files on Mac. I have already done the same for Linux, and it works flawlessly but on mac for some reason flash is not drawing to my window. It is not throwing any kind of error too. I am using Flash player 10, that would mean that I am using the Core Graphics drawing model. I am able to send mouse events to flash and wrote a sample plugin to check if there was a problem in the context that I was sending, but my sample plugin draws properly to the window. I am getting a call for NPN_InvalidateRect twice and as a response I send an update Event back to flash. I drew a dummy rectangle to check that my context is correct. I have flipped the context to make the origin as top left corner. On doing right click on the debug version of the flash player it shows the following message: "Movie not loaded..." Can anyone give me any idea why is the content not being drawn? I would really appreciate the help, as I have been struggling with it for more than a month now.   Silverlight 4 has a new ContextMenu control in the latest toolkit. I can't find ANY examples anywhere on how to reliably use this ContextMenu on a DataGrid. Theres a tonne of context menus out there but I want to use the new version from the toolkit. I'd like to be able to set context menus for rows and cells. Everything I've tries ends up being bound to the wrong item in the grid after scrolling.

  I've just started playing with The Django Form Validation Framework on Google App Engine (from google.appengine.ext.db import djangoforms) and I got stuck googling how to customize forms using it. I was wondering whether the following are possible using the package: Add help texts beside/below input/select fields and textareas (e.g. "This field is required", "Example: qwerty123") Add/modify attributes for the input/select fields and textareas (e.g. adding the following attributes: class, id, name, maxlength, minlength, etc.) Add custom validations like checking whether a particular field should be unique or checking a value against a regular expression Modify the error messages Add another column to the table generated by the form Also note that djangoforms.ModelForm is different from django.forms.Form.

  I'm doing some work on App Engine and I need to convert an XML document being retrieved from a remote server into an equivalent JSON object. I'm using xml.dom.minidom to parse the XML data being returned by urlfetch. I'm also trying to use django.utils.simplejson to convert the parsed XML document into JSON. I'm completely at a loss as to how to hook the two together. Below is the code I more or less have been tinkering with. If anyone can put A & B together, I would be SO greatful. • Problem using ‘useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy’ & supportedRuntime in an application

  Hello, I've modified a couple of different applications' .config file like this: <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> <supportedRuntime version="v4.0"/> </startup> When I did this for devenv.exe.config (VS 2005 - don't ask :) ), things work great - most of the Visual Studio used .NET 2.0 but I was able to make use of an assembly targeting .NET 4.0 framework. I tried to do the same thing for a custom .exe, which happens to be based on MS CAB (slightly modified) and has a hybrid mix of WPF and WinForms content. As soon as I modified this application's app config file, I started getting this exception, sometime during application startup: The Undo operation encountered a context that is different from what was applied in the corresponding Set operation. The possible cause is that a context was Set on the thread and not reverted(undone). System.InvalidOperationException: The Undo operation encountered a context that is different from what was applied in the corresponding Set operation. The possible cause is that a context was Set on the thread and not reverted(undone). There's a big long stack trace that doesn't show anything in my application code directly (just a bunch of MS assemblies). If I modify the application's .config file to this: <startup useLegacyV2RuntimeActivationPolicy="true"> </startup> i.e.I remove the supportedRuntime element, then the application doesn't throw this exception. But when I go to the point in my code where I try to load my .NET 4 assembly, if fails with this: System.BadImageFormatException: Could not load file or assembly '' or one of its dependencies. This assembly is built by a runtime newer than the currently loaded runtime and cannot be loaded. I guess this is expected. I have two questions: 1) Any idea why I'm getting the System.InvalidOperationException exception when I modify this application's configuration file to include the supportedRuntime element, adding .NET 4 support and any suggestions on what I can do about it? 2) If the answer is "no idea why/don't know what you can do about it", then is possible for my .NET 3.5 SP1 code (C#) to provide more fine grain support for conditionally adding .NET 4 runtime support for a certain assembly(ies) without converting my entire application to target .NET 4, or without using the declarative config file approach? At some point I would convert the entire application to target .NET 4, but for the short term this is daunting task and I'm hope for some short term solution/hack.   Hi, I'm new at this (java and opengl) so please bear with me if the answer to the question is simple. :) I'm trying to get a camera preview screen with the ability to display 3d objects simultaneously. Having gone through the samples at the api demos, I thought combining the code for the the examples at the api demo would suffice. But somehow its not working. The forces me to shut down upon startup and the error is mentioned as null pointer exception. Could someone share with me where did I go wrong and how to proceed from there.   I recently upgraded my Android app to support multiple resolutions. Previously, my Android.manifest file had a line: To support multiple density and resolution devices, I changed this to: <supports-screens android:smallScreens="false" android:normalScreens="true" android:largeScreens="true" android:anyDensity="true" /> <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="4" /> I then added a couple of new directories, like drawable-hdpi-v4 and drawable-long-hdpi-v4 that includes the high-res versions of the graphics. That's about it. Ever since releasing this update, there have been a decent number of users complaining about various problems: - the app icon doesn't appear (I did not create a high res version of the icon) - the home screen widget no longer works, even if they delete and re-add it (this code did not change with the update). • Why is IoC / DI not common in Python?

  In Java IoC / DI is a very common practice which is extensively used in web applications, nearly all available frameworks and Java EE. On the other hand, there are also lots of big Python web applications, but beside of Zope (which I've heard should be really horrible to code) IoC doesn't seem to be very common in the Python world. (Please name some examples if you think that I'm wrong). There are of course several clones of popular Java IoC frameworks available for Python, springpython for example. But none of them seems to get used practically. At least, I've never stumpled upon a Django or sqlalchemy+<insert your favorite wsgi toolkit here> based web application which uses something like that. In my opinion IoC has reasonable advantages and would make it easy to replace the django-default-user-model for example, but extensive usage of interface classes and IoC in Python looks a bit odd and not »pythonic«. But maybe someone has a better explanation, why IoC isn't widely used in Python.

  I'm trying to figure out how to, using m2crypto, validate the chain of trust from a public key version of a X509 certificate back to one of a set of known root CA's when the chain may be arbitrarily long. The SSL.Context module looks promising except that I'm not doing this in the context of a SSL connection and I can't see how the information passed to load_verify_locations is used. Essentially, I'm looking for the interface that's equivalent to: openssl verify pub_key_x509_cert Is there something like that in m2crypto? Thanks.

  I want to implement an efficient mechanism to throttle login attemps in my Java web application, to prevent brute-force attacks on user accounts. Jeff explained the why, but not the how. Simon Willison showed an implementation in Python for Django: That doesn't really help me along as I can't use memcached nor Django. Porting his ideas from scratch doesn't seem like a great either - I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I found one Java implementation, though it seems rather naiive: Instead of a LRU cache, it just clears all entries after 15 minutes. EHCache could be an alternative for memcached, but I don't have any experience with it and don't really want to intoduce yet another technology if there are better alternatives for this task. So, whats a good way to implement login throttling in Java?

  I have an app based on the CoreDataBooks example that uses an addingManagedObjectContext to add an Ingredient to a Cocktail in order to undo the entire add. The CocktailsDetailViewController in turn calls a BrandPickerViewController to (optionally) set a brand name for a given ingredient. Cocktail, Ingredient and Brand are all NSManagedObjects. Cocktail requires at least one Ingredient (baseLiquor) to be set, so I create it when the Cocktail is created. If I add the Cocktail in CocktailsAddViewController : CocktailsDetailViewController (merging into the Cocktail managed object context on save) without setting baseLiquor.brand, then it works to set the Brand from a picker (also stored in the Cocktails managed context) later from the CocktailsDetailViewController. However, if I try to set baseLiquor.brand in CocktailsAddViewController, I get: Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'Illegal attempt to establish a relationship 'brand' between objects in different contexts' From this question I understand that the issue is that Brand is stored in the app's managedObjectContext and the newly added Ingredient and Cocktail are stored in addingManagedObjectContext, and that passing the ObjectID instead would avoid the crash. What I don't get is how to implement the picker generically so that all of the Ingredients (baseLiquor, mixer, garnish, etc.) can be set during the add, as well as one-by-one from the CocktailsDetailViewController after the Cocktail has been created. • No properties file found Error for ReloadableResourceBundleMessageSource

  I'm trying to use a reloadable spring resource bundle but spring cannot find the file. I've tried tons of different paths, but can't get it to work anywhere. In the code below you'll see that i load both the spring bundle and the regular one from the same path variable but only one works. I've been banging my head against this for far too long. • Get from Android BroadcastReciever to a UI

  I have a reciever that works well, but I can't seem to show a proper UI, although the toast appears correctly. As far as I can tell, this is caused by Android requiring the class to extend Activity, however, the class already extends BroadcastReciever, so I can't do this. So, I tried to do an Intent, but this failed too. There are no errors, but the screen doesn't show. Source code is below, and any help would be most appreciated.
