• How to open the Quota Entries list for a given drive from a shortcut or command line?

  Is it possible to open the Quota Entries list for a given drive from a shortcut or the command line in Windows? And if so, how? I'm not talking about managing quota entries from the command line (fsutil quota), I'm looking for a way to get directly to the Quota Entries GUI rather than going through My Computer → right-click on a drive → Properties → Quota tab → Show Quota Settings → Quota Entries... I managed to find out (using Process Explorer) that the backend process is dllhost.exe, and the DLL in question should be dskquoui.dll, so it should be possible to run it directly with rundll32.exe, but I'm not sure of the exact syntax. Any ideas?

  When extending the Windows' shell context menu (e.g. for adding an 'Open command here' prompt on directories), a 'command' key needs to be created in the registry. The value of this 'command' key apparently can be any valid command line. I want to know which 'special variables' are available for use inside this command line. For example, I use following command for opening and cmd window from within a directory's context menu (*): cmd.exe /e:on /f:on /s /k pushd "%V" I cannot find any reference to what %V actually means or what the full list of such variables is. • Dual booting Windows and Arch Linux (with GRUB2) - after using Windows, Windows Boot Manager made first in boot priority list

  I am dual booting Windows 7 and Arch Linux (both 64bit), with GRUB2, using the 64-bit EFI version. I partitioned my drive into a GPT drive and installed Windows first according to this guide. I then installed Arch Linux using the Beginner's Guide, installing grub2-efi-x86_64 in the process. Everything is working fine now, but with one problem. I can set the boot priority in BIOS (or is it UEFI?) to have GRUB boot try and boot before Windows Boot Manager. Then I chainload Windows Boot Manager using GRUB. However, when I actually use Windows in this manner, upon shutting down and turning on again, or rebooting, Windows seems to set Windows Boot Manager first in the priority list again, with the result being I have to manually set GRUB again, or I can't boot into Linux. My motherboard is an Asrock H61M/USB3, if that helps. I want to know how to turn off this behaviour.

• Windows Server 2012 Essentials - Trying to setup "Anywhere Access" but the "Computer Access" list for users is blank

  I have a new installation of Windows Server 2012 Essentials and I'm trying to setup "Anywhere Access" for both VPN and remote desktop. The basic setup is all working. Shared folders is working but remote desktop has no computers available. On the server, if I edit a user with the Essentials Dashboard and go to "Computer access", the list is empty. The desktop computers have been joined to the domain. I can see them in AD under "Computers". I think our mistake was that we didn't use the connector tool to join the domain. We moved from a previous domain and went to Computer / Properties, changed the domain and started with a new profile. Is there something I can do now to make these desktops available for remote desktop? I can access a desktop directly no problem by going directly to it with the RDP client on port 3389. I do that from the outside world through an SSH tunnel.

  Hello Expets, I do not have much skills in linux and installed a system two years ago that I now had to reboot, but it seems I did not automate everything with start-scripts... My Problem: I miss some mountpoints. I have a list of my raids (excerpt:) md3 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda6[0] sdb6[1] 97659008 blocks [2/2] [UU] md4 : active (auto-read-only) raid1 sda7[0] sdb7[1] 250099776 blocks [2/2] [UU] and it seems md3 and md4 are NOT mounted. However i do NOT have any entries for them fstab file. What should I do next. I do NOT know which filesystem they have (most likely ext3). =Can I savely try to mount them with (mount -t ext3 /dev/md3 /mnt/mymntpoint) or will the lead to corrupted data, in case they are not ext3? What should I do next (based on the information given above). The goal is to remount these Devices again, but I do not know anything about them anymore... Thank you very much Jens

  I'm a software developer currently stuck to support CyberArk at a large company. I need to pull up a list of accounts that is belong to a certain user. For example, let's said I have a user account named Bob and I want to find all the accounts that belong to Bob in AD meaning on the Organization tab of a user properties, the Manager should be Bob. I've absolutely zero knowledge regarding AD except the very basic. Is there a way to do it? I only have access to "Active Directory Users and Computers" tool and I'm not even sure if I have enough privilege to run script or install powershell to do it but would like to know the script or powershell command to do so if there is one.

• Where can I find a list of the highest resolution monitors for sale?

  I am always on the lookout for the latest and greatest monitors, but for some reason, I have never found a good resource for this information. And while we know months in advance what new processor will be released, it doesn't seem like we ever know what new monitors will be released until they are. I am tempted to buy a Dell 3008WFP, but since the 30" 2560x1600 monitors have been out for 6 years, I would expect something better is about to be released. Where can I find out what is available in the high resolution / widescreen market and what is soon to be released?   Hello Everyone, I'd like to compile a list of best practices for getting the most out of a single charge of a typical notebook battery (be it Li-Ion or Li-Poly). Sources would be great as well. I've heard, for instance, that the best things to do to improve battery performance (not the total lifetime of the battery, just single charge performance) are, in descending order of effectiveness: Turn your display all the way down. Turn off WiFi Turn off Bluetooth Spin down disks when they're not in use. etc… I'd like to get sources together for these and other tips for extending life-between-charge for any battery on any notebook (as these really are all about Demand Management rather than Life lime extension.   Occassionally a user's email password will become compromised and the spammer will flood the Qmail queue with 10,000+ emails sent through a specific user's account. I know how to use qmqtool to remove messages that match a specific string: qmqtool -d -f "[email protected]" However the -f argument matches anywhere in the message. -f 'STRING' display comma separated list of message number(s) containing STRING. That means messages to, from, and even mentioning that email address will all be deleted. Does qmqtool (or another qmail tool) have a command for matching messages from a specific envelope sender? Note: I only want to match the authenticated sender, not the "From:" which is always forged in this case anyway.

• How would you diagnose an integrated network card that doesn't show up on the device list?

  I've been setting up a server based around a Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R motherboard (G33, PCH9R with integrated Realtek 811B network device. I've enabled it in the BIOS, but it doesn't show up in the pre-boot PCI device list, isn't recognized by Windows (even after installing the chipset and networking drivers) and doesn't even show up via lspci. I've tried cycling power, disabling, cycling again, enabling, cycling again etc. to no avail. I'm sort of at a loss at this point; the board isn't under warranty anymore, but I'd rather not have to replace it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated...

  I often use facebook for communication while working. When I do, I'd rather not see the facebook newsfeed. Unfortunately it's hard to remember to not go to the frontpage and use facebook.com/messages or facebook.com/events. Is there any way to always redirect from the url https://www.facebook.com/ to https://www.facebook.com/events/list? I use firefox on osx. I have tried the redirector addon and I'm not able to make it work, not sure if I'm missing something obvious or if it's outdated/buggy.

  I provide support to a lot of clients. I have created a folder for each client, and under each client folder, I create a folder for the date on which the issue was reported. Now due to growing data, I want to delete all issues for all clients which are before a cut off date. The problem is while creating the date folder, I have not always followed a specific convention, some are creating using dd-MM-yyyy, some are using dd.MM.yyyy, etc. Is there a quick way I can list all such date subfolders, and then choose which ones I do not want, and delete them?   I know that under Windows there are multiple ways to get an app to autostart but I can never remember what all of those ways are. Is there a single unified way to bring up a list of all programs which are set to run themselves at startup and let me disable those I don't want? I'd prefer something built into Windows. I have Windows 7 Starter. But a free / open source / shareware tool would also be acceptable. (This time the software I want to prevent from autostarting is: MSN Messenger, Y! Messenger, and Vodaphone Mobile Broadband, which starts whether the dongle is inserted or not. None of these three are in Windows's "Startup" folder.)

  Is it possible to list all folders/files that a given group has explicit permissions on, for a machine running Windows Server 2003? If so, how? It would be nice to see inherited permissions as well, but I could do with just explicit permissions. A little background: I'm trying to update groups/permissions on a test server. One of the groups, Devs, wasn't implemented correctly when it was created, and my goal is to remove it from the system. It has been replaced by LeadDevelopers, which has permissions on many — but naturally not all — of the same folders. I want to make sure that I don't accidentally orphan any folders or cause any other issues when I remove Devs. It did have some admin-level permissions.

I tried by editing with text editors, but I am getting some crazy hash errors when I did that. I have seen people editing trackers in a torrent file (using online editors and other editors), but none of them edited the list of files in the torrent file. So, the question is: How to edit a .torrent file (and save it back as another .torrent file) such that when you run that torrent file, it only downloads only those files you need?

  I created a rule for a contact group/distribution list in order to move emails to a certain folder. It works without any problems. Let's call this group 'distgroup'. However, for some emails that comes to the group email(distgroup), 'To' and 'From' fields are same as 'From'. Normally 'To' field is supposed to be 'distrgroup'. Because of this, when I cannot run the same rule for this type of emails since group email address is not written in either 'To' or 'From'. It doesn't move that emails to my certain folder.   In OS X's olden times, column view always allowed you to scroll left back to the list of volumes. In recent versions, however, the Finder will hide parents and ancestors. For example, when you select a favorite "place" in the sidebar, no ancestors of that folder will be visitable without pressing Cmd+Up, but hitting Cmd+Up causes the current directory to lose focus, or disappear entirely, depending on the number of levels . Clicking "Back" sends you back to the folder you where in, but it also re-hides all of its ancestors :( I really wish I could see the entire hierarchy. Is that possible?

I often [email protected] when signing up to websites, so if I end up getting lots of spam sent to that address, I know who to blame. But what's a good way to find a list of all username+anything@ addresses in my Gmail spam folder? I'd prefer to do this within the web client if possible. Next best is using external client such as Outlook or Opera mail but without having to download lots of mail if possible. I don't really want to download spam emails.

  I am using Windows Explorer on Windows 7. In My Documents there's a folder 02 KOOP. If I go there using the adress bar: D:\users\username\My Documents\02 KOOP I get a view of my subfolders and some files: However when I use the Documents shortcut under Libraries, and then go to the 02 KOOP folder, all files that are located in all subfolders are listed in one big list. When you view the file properties, the actual location is shown: This is the only subfolder of My Documents that has this behaviour. Did I accidentally change some setting, or is something wrong? Is this some setting I accidentally changed?

  I want to plot the stock prices of certain companies VS the S&P500. I have all the price data downloaded in my excel sheet already. I want to create a line graph in Excel. One line is fixed and that would be the S&P500, and the other would be the company I select. I know how to use data validation to create a dropdown list, but how could I make it in such a way that when I select company A, I would only see company A's price data but not company B, C, etc. Then when I select company B, I would only see company B's price data & the S&P price data. And so on. The S&P line will be visible all the time, but the various company's price line will only appear if it is selected. Is there any easy way to normalize all sets of data in a way such that the starting point is always 100?

  I manage IT for a large organization with over 2000 people. The administration would like to send an email (often with up to 5 word document attachments) about once per week. They also want to categorize people. For instance, about 40 people are "teachers," about 1800 people are "students," and about 10 people are "board members." They may send an email to any combination of these categories. Here's what I have tried: I bought a server, installed Ubuntu server edition on it, and wrote a python script to send out their emails. However, pretty soon, mail services such as Gmail and Yahoo began to treat the mail I send out as SPAM. I'm guessing this is because I am sending an email with 2000+ people in the "bcc" field. Maintaining this server also takes a lot of time. How do I set up a mailing list for over 2000 people? Must I defer to paid services?
