  • Does CakePHP treat all INT fields as ID's for join tables?

    I am trying to save a User, their Profile, and some tags and my join table that links the profile and the tags keeps getting messed up. The profile model is called Instructor, the tag model is called Subject. The Instructor has a phone number and a zip code and for some reason CakePHP thinks these are the fields it should use when creating entries in my join table.     I have a number array and I'd like to calculate the median.     I am trying to do the following: I have row 1. I have values A1, B1, and C1. A1 contains a few names separated by a comma. I want to split A1 by these names while copying over the values from B1 and C1 into the split columns of A1. For example, I have this: (A1 B1 C1) bob,sam,bill 99 10 I want to have this: bob 99 10 sam 99 10 bill 99 10 I am also doing this on Google Sheets, I tried using combinations of Split, Join, and Transpose but can't seem to figure it out. Both have #process and #dependency parameters and both point to one field for dependent value. Problem is elements like select or textfield can be hidden easily but it does not work for fieldset. In this support request page, CTools creator has mentioned that '#input' = true is a work around. As you see I added it to code, but it does not work as well. Do you have any suggestion?

    Say I have the following path and file name: P:\Actuary\Cash Flow Forecast\Annual and Quarterly Budget Data\ECMQA 2012Q1.xls I want to write an if then statement that does the following (not sure if my statement is set up properly): If InStr(1, "P:\Actuary\Cash Flow Forecast\Annual and Quarterly Budget Data\ECMQA 2012Q1.xls", "QA", vbTextCompare) > 0 Then BD.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("C2").value = "2012Q1" End If Instead of just inputting "2012Q1", I want it to automatically read this from the file. The thing is I am actually looping through 12 or so files and there's two types, "ECMQA 2012Q1.xls" (or ECMQB 2012Q2.xls and so on) AND "ECM Annual Budget 2012.xlsx" If my file is the annual one (If file contains "Annual"), then I want: BD.Sheets("Sheet1").Range("C2").value = "2012" And i want it to read this from the actual file, same as the other one...not me putting in "2012" Is there a way to do this?   • Capturing output of find . -print0 into a bash array

    Using find . -print0 seems to be the only safe way of obtaining a list of files in bash due to the possibility of filenames containing spaces, newlines, quotation marks etc. However, I'm having a hard time actually making find's output useful within bash or with other command line utilities. The only way I have managed to make use of the output is by piping it to perl, and changing perl's IFS to null: find . -print0 | perl -e '$/="\0"; @files=<>; print $#files;' This example prints the number of files found, avoiding the danger of newlines in filenames corrupting the count, as would occur with: find . | wc -l As most command line programs do not support null-delimited input, I figure the best thing would be to capture the output of find . -print0 in a bash array, like I have done in the perl snippet above, and then continue with the task, whatever it may be. How can I do this? This doesn't work: find . -print0 | ( IFS=$'\0' ; array=( $( cat ) ) ; echo ${#array[@]} ) A much more general question might be: How can I do useful things with lists of files in bash?

    I've begun watching a series of first year lectures from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Australia, and I'm a bit perplexed by the instructors explanation of how an SRAM gate works. I realize this isn't exactly "programming-related" but since it comes from a series of lectures relating to computing and programming, I thought StackOverflow may be able to help (reddit failed me entirely). In this lecture beginning at around 32:12, Richard (the lecturer) tries to explain how a "latch gate" works within SRAM. Although his students seem to keep up, I feel I'm missing something crucial which is preventing the concept from really "clicking" in my brain.     I found myself confronted with an interview question where the goal was to write a sorting algorithm that sorts an array of unsorted int values: int[] unsortedArray = { 9, 6, 3, 1, 5, 8, 4, 2, 7, 0 }; Now I googled and found out that there are so many sorting algorithms out there! Finally I could motivate myself to dig into Bubble Sort because it seemed pretty simple to start with. But is this the only case that this is more useful or do you know any other application where this condition has been used?

  • CakePHP update multiple elements in one div

    The idea is that I've 3 ajax links and each link is coupled to one single element (a form). The element will be loaded in one div. Each time when you click on a different link, the element that is requested before must be removed and the new one must come in there. So it has to update the DIV. The problem is, that it request the element, but it does not remove the other one. So when you click one the first link, it shows the first element, click on the second link and it puts the second element beneath them, and with the third one will happen exactly the same. If you clicked all the 3 links, it shows 3 forms right under each other. The same as in tutorial. Just in case So the pivot table has name 'enrollment' and has 2 columns: page_id , menugroup_id I tried to add pk in pivot table, but it changed nothing I tried to add/remove db relation between pages/menugroups and pivot table (InnoDB) but with no luck I tried save all data in controller, but with the same bad result:( I am still getting the same error: Undefined index: enrollment in ORM line: $columns = array($this-_has_many[$alias]['foreign_key'], $this-_has_many[$alias]['far_key']); Could somebody tell me, what can be else wrong? Unfortunately, the new JOIN references a table in the belongsTo association, so it must appear AFTER the belongsTo in the query.   • How to use a TFileStream to read 2D matrices into dynamic array?

    I need to read a large (2000x2000) matrix of binary data from a file into a dynamic array with Delphi 2010. I don't know the dimensions until run-time. I've never read raw data like this, and don't know IEEE so I'm posting this to see if I'm on track. I plan to use a TFileStream to read one row at a time. I need to be able to read as many of these formats as possible: 16-bit two's complement binary integer 32-bit two's complement binary integer 64-bit two's complement binary integer IEEE single precision floating-point For 32-bit two's complement, I'm thinking something like the code below. Changing to Int64 and Int16 should be straight forward. How can I read the IEEE? Am I on the right track? Any suggestions on this code, or how to elegantly extend it for all 4 data types above? Since my post-processing will be the same after reading this data, I guess I'll have to copy the matrix into a common format when done. I have no problem just having four procedures (one for each data type) like the one below, but perhaps there's an elegant way to use RTTI or buffers and then move()'s so that the same code works for all 4 datatypes?   • Storing strings from a text file/scanner. Array or built-in?

    This code snippet is to to read a text file, turn the lines into objects through a different public (non changeable) class(externalClass). The external class does nothing but turn strings (lines from the .txt through nextLine) into objects, and is fully functional. The scanner(scanner3) is assigned to the text file. while (scanner3.hasNext()) { externalClass convertedlines = new externalClass(scanner3.nextLine()); I'm not new to programming, but as I'm new to java, I do not know if this requires me to create an array, or if the returned objects are sorted in some other way. i.e is the "importedlines" getting overwritten with each run of the loop(and I need to introduce an array into the loop), or are the objects stored in some way? The question may seem strange, but with the program I am making it would be harder (but definitely not impossible) if I used an array. Any help would be appreciated.     I am communicating with an instrument (remote controlling it) and one of the things I need to do is to draw the instrument screen. In order to get the screen I issue a command and the instrument replies with an array of bytes that represents the screen. Below is what the instrument manual has to say about converting the response to the actual screen: The command retrieves the framebuffer data used for the display. It is 19200 bytes in size, 2-bits per pixel, 4 pixels per byte arranged as 320x240 characteres. The data is sent in RLE encoded form. To convert this data into a BMP for use in Windows, it needs to be turned into a 4BPP. Also note that BMP files are upside down relative to this data, i.e. the top display line is the last line in the BMP. I managed to unpack the data, but now I am stuck on how to actually go from the unpacked byte array to a bitmap. My background on this is pretty close to zero and my searches have not revealed much either. I am looking for directions and/or articles I could use to help me undestand how to get this done. Any code or even pseudo code would also help. :-) So, just to summarize it all: How to convert a byte array of 19200 bytes in size, where each byte represents 4 pixels (2 bits per pixel), to a bitmap arranged as 320x240 characters.
