• Best way to pass a 2d array into javascript from php?

  Ok, what i'm trying to do here is to pass a 2d array from php to javascript in the easiest way possible. The main reason for this is because i have the array which is previously filled with data via the phpscript and doing it one by one and just "calling it as it's needed" will not work out too well since well there's more than just one row required when it's called and i'd rather not do something like for all of the elements in it as it's number is unknown until it gets said data from the database. I was going to do a while loop to write in some of the data into elements sot hat it coudl be later pulled up more easily but i cannot seem to find an easy way to do this currently. If anyone has an easy way to transfer this to javascript without having to do what i previously said.

  Hello, I have any array $num_list = array(42=>'0',44=>'0',46=>'0',48=>'0',50=>'0',52=>'0',54=>'0',56=>'0',58=>'0',60=>'0'); and I want to change specific values as I go through a loop while(list($pq, $oin) = mysql_fetch_row($result2)) { $num_list[$oin] = $pq; } So I want to change like 58 to 403 rather then 0. However I always end up getting just the last change and non of the earlier ones. So it always ends up being something like 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,403 rather then 14,19,0,24,603,249,0,0,0,403 How can I do this so it doesn't overwrite it? Thanks

  I have used c:forEach loop for display the list of images using h:graphicImage. But I can't display the images. I have the h:commandLink also in my page. The image have to be displayed at the time of form inititalization. But its not working. But after click the h:commandlink, the images are displayed properly. Before that it shows the image not found text (alt message). I have used h:graphicImage tag like below <c:forEach items="#{Sample.imageList}" var="images" varstatus="imageStatus"> <h:graphicimage id="image" url="#{images}" alt="Image Not Found"/> </c:forEach> What I do wrong in that and how can I achieve that?

• Is there an easy way to concatenate several lines of text into a string without constantly appending

  So I essentially need to do this: String text = "line1\n"; text += "line2\n"; text += "line3\n"; useString( text ); There is more involved, but that's the basic idea. Is there anything out there that might let me do something more along the lines of this though? DesiredStringThinger text = new DesiredStringThinger(); text.append( "line1" ); text.append( "line2" ); text.append( "line3" ); useString( text.toString() ); Obviously, it does not need to work exactly like that, but I think I get the basic point across. There is always the option of writing a loop which processes the text myself, but it would be nice if there is a standard Java class out there that already does something like this rather than me needing to carry a class around between applications just so I can do something so trivial. • Python 3.0 - Dynamic Class Instance Naming

  I want to use a while loop to initialize class objects with a simple incremented naming convention. The goal is to be able to scale the number of class objects at will and have the program generate the names automatically. (ex. h1...h100...h1000...) Each h1,h2,h3... being its own instance. • How to find validity of a string of parentheses, curly brackets and square brackets?

  I recently came in contact with this interesting problem. You are given a string containing just the characters '(', ')', '{', '}', '[' and ']', for example, "[{()}]", you need to write a function which will check validity of such an input string, function may be like this: bool isValid(char* s); these brackets have to close in the correct order, for example "()" and "()[]{}" are all valid but "(]", "([)]" and "{{{{" are not! I came out with following O(n) time and O(n) space complexity solution, which works fine: Maintain a stack of characters. Whenever you find opening braces '(', '{' OR '[' push it on the stack. Whenever you find closing braces ')', '}' OR ']' , check if top of stack is corresponding opening bracket, if yes, then pop the stack, else break the loop and return false. Repeat steps 2 - 3 until end of the string. This works, but can we optimize it for space, may be constant extra space, I understand that time complexity cannot be less than O(n) as we have to look at every character. So my question is can we solve this problem in O(1) space?

• Not able to kill bad kernel running on NVIDIA GPU

  Hi, I am in a real fix. Please help. Its urgent. I have a host process that spawns multiple host(CPU) threads. These threads in turn call the CUDA kernel. These CUDA kernels are written by external users. So it might be bad kernels that enter infinite loop. In order to overcome this I have put a time-out of 2 mins that will kill the corresponding CPU thread. Will killing the CPU thread also kill the kernel running on the GPU? As far as what I have tested it does'nt. How can I also kill all the threads currently running in the GPU? Thanks, Arvind

• C++ - Access array (in main) from methods outside main

  I have an array in my main class that holds objects that I need to print out for a menu listing. The array is declared and initialized in main. I need to, however, access the same array in a sub-menu function. If I copy the code (for loop that prints out the values) to the sub-menu, nothing is printed (presumably because it can't access the original array and has made a new, blank one). Is there any way (without making the array a global variable) that I can access the array in this sub-menu? Both the main and the sub-menu function are in the same file and the sub-menu is called from main. Maybe to put it more simply, can I use scope resolution to bring me up one 'level' in scope?

It's a good example of why constructors are useful haha, If it were an object I would be sure that when was created initialization was called, but in C, I don't know how to do it. Any other ideas are welcome!

• C# - Thread does not abort on application closing

  Hi, I have an application which does some background task (network listening & reading) in separate Thread. It seems however that the Thread is not being Terminated/Aborted when I close the application (click "x" button on titlebar ;)). Is that because the main Thread routine is while(true) {...} ? What is the solution here? I was looking for some "interruption" flag for the Thread as the condition for "while" loop, but didn't found any ...

  I have the following tight loop that makes up the serial bottle neck of my code. Ideally I would parallelize the function that calls this but that is not possible. //n is about 60 for (int k = 0;k < n;k++) { double fone = z[k*n+i+1]; double fzer = z[k*n+i]; z[k*n+i+1]= s*fzer+c*fone; z[k*n+i] = c*fzer-s*fone; } Are there any optimizations that can be made such as vectorization or some evil inline that can help this code?   I have an application which second thread calls GetMessage() in a loop. At some point the first thread realizes that the user wants to quit the application and notifies the second thread that he should terminate. As the first thread is stuck on GetMessage(), the program never quits. Is there a way to wait for messages with a timeout? I’m open to other ideas too. EDIT: (additional explanations) The second thread runs that snippet of code: while ( !m_quit && GetMessage( &msg, NULL, 0, 0 ) ) { TranslateMessage( &msg ); DispatchMessage( &msg ); } The first thread sets m_quit to true.

• Better data-structure design

  Currently in my application I have a single table that is giving me a bit of trouble. The issue at hand is I have a value object that is mapped to this table. When the data is returned to me as an array of value objects, I have to then loop through this array and begin my recursion by matching the ParentID to parent ObjectID's. The column ParentID is either null (acts a parent) or it holds the value of an ObjectID. I know there has to be a better way to create this data structure so that I do not have to do recursive loops to match ParentID's with their ObjectID's. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. • rcurl web scraping timeout exits program

  I am using a loop and rcurl scrape data from multiple pages which seems to work fine at certain times but fails when there is a timeout due to the server not responding.   (1) I have a site that serves up MP3 files: http://domain/files/1234567890.mp3 (2) I have a php script that tracks file download counts: http://domain/modules/download_counter.php?file=/files/1234567890.mp3 After download_counter.php records the download, it redirects to the original file: Header("Location: $FQDN_url"); (3) I'd like all my public links to be presented as the direct file urls from (1). I'm trying to use Apache to redirect the requests to download_counter.php: RewriteRule ^files/(.+\.mp3)$ /modules/download_counter.php?file=/files/$1 [L] I'm currently stuck on (3), as it results in a redirect loop, since download_counter.php simply redirects the request back to the original file (rather than streaming the file contents). I'm also motivated to use download_counter.php as is (without modifying it's redirect behaviour). This is because the script is part of a larger CMS module, and I'd like to avoid complicating my upgrade path. Perhaps there is no solution to my problem (other than modifying the download_counter script). WDYT?

  I'm doing something in Java that requires input to be matched against the pattern ^[1-5]$. I should have a while loop looping through each line of input, checking it against the pattern, and outputting an error message if it does not. Sudo code: while (regex_match(/^[^1-5]$/,inputLine)) { print ("Please enter a number between 1 and 5! "); getNextInputLine(); } I can use java.util.Scanner.hasMatch("^[^1-5]$"), but that will only match a single token, not the entire line. Any idea on how to make hasMatch match against the entire line? (Setting the delimiter to "\n" or "\0" doesn't work.)

• Powershell Select-Object from array not working

  I am trying to seperate values in an array so i can pass them to another function. Am using the select-Object function within a for loop to go through each line and separate the timestamp and value fields. However, it doesn't matter what i do the below code only displays the first select-object variable for each line. The second select-object command doesn't seem to work as my output is a blank line for each of the 6 rows.   I'm in the process of writing a small php-cli script that will loop over over my personal inbox and then send me an SMS via a gateway. The question I have is: As will have the script launch via cron every 10 minutes, if there is an email sitting in my inbox that is not read before the next script launch then I will receive 2 sms. Does any one (pseudocode will do) have any idea what the best practice would be in php5 to ensure only 1 SMS is sent? What I am currently learning towards is towards storing the message ID in a sqlite DB and flagging a field whether an SMS has been sent or not - but wondering if there is an easier way?

  Hello, If i insert multiple records with a loop that executes a single record insert, the last insert id returned is, as expected, the last one... but if i do a multiple records insert statement: INSERT INTO people (name,age) VALUES('William',25),('Bart',15),('Mary',12); let's say the three above are the first records inserted in the table...after the insert statement i expected last insert id to return 3, but it returned 1...the first insert id for the statement in question... So can someone please confirm if this is the normal behavior of LAST_INSERT_ID() in the context of multiple records INSERT statements...so i can base my code on it thanks :)

However, I'm hitting a brick wall trying to come up with a solution in LINQ.
