• Setting up a Google Analytics Campaign

  I will be doing a bunch of things to give one of my projects (main app) a big initial push for which I will be building a few small Facebook apps which will help in promoting the main apps. Traffic from these apps need to be tracked individually. My main app will be posting on the walls when the user needs to be notified. Traffic from these posts need to be tracked. Traffic from emails sent by the main app need to be tracked, like different types of email. I need to track all of these & possibly a couple of more but I need to be sure that I build my campaign URLs correctly as I won't get another chance to fix it. Correct me where I am wrong: Campaign Name: Launch Campaign Medium: Email Campaign Source: Type1 or Type2 (I can break it down for different types of email, right?) For apps: Campaign Name: Launch Campaign Medium: Apps Campaign Source: App1 or App2 (I can break it down here for different apps, right?) What if I want to track two different links within a single email or a single app? Any way of tracking them individually too but still keeping to track them as one because tracking them as one makes more sense for me. Campaign Term & Campaign content is irrelevant in my case, or I can/should use them for something? And I will also be tracking traffic of different apps. Should I do more? Let me know if my scenario wasn't clear enough & I need to explain more.

• Simple website with a GPL V3 Framework

  I write web-based software and simple website ("Home", "Who we are", "Contact"). For a simple website I'm using a covered GPL v3 framework. The user surf the website, send an email, take info, etc. I repeat: simple website, not a Joomla or Wordpress. 1) Will the website be covered with the GPL? I don't modify the framework. I'm using his classes in other classes... (OOP). 2) For the point 1, if yes, do I need to add (e.g. in the footer) name of framework and his link? 3) I must permit download of entire website to study code (nothing that a programmer has interest in)? E.g. placing it in Github? 4) If 2 is NO, how you can "understand" that we use that framework? In effect no php lines are exposed to the browser... You cannot understand that when you push "Send email" the site is calling $this->send($email). If you write me an email "Are you using XXX framework"? I can answer NO.

Someone wanted to hack my account, so I changed password to a pretty complicated one, which I could not remember..(I know:)) I needed to prove my identity by typing in 3 codes that were sent to 3 friends on fb. I did it. Fb told me to come back in one day. I did so. But this is the message I keep getting: "We're sorry. The email you used to start the account recovery process is already in use. Please restart the process with a new email address.". I really do not want to log back in again with a new subscribtion. • JQuery text display problem?

  Kind of new to JQuery and I was wondering how can I state that the users submitted info was saved when they click the submit button by displaying the message Changes saved at the top of the form and then have it disappear when the user leaves the web page and return back to it? Right now my code only displays that changes were saved at the bottom of the form outside of the lists and will not disappear when the users leave the web page and return back to it. • Html shows after submitting form and is nowhere to be found in php script.

  Upon submitting this form on my site. It send me to a page that says. "Use Back - fill in all fields Use back! ! " But this html isn't in the mail script anywhere. Where could this be coming from? • strange behavior while including a class in php

  I'm experiencing a strange behavior with PHP. Basically I want to require a class within a PHP script. I know it is straight forward and I did it before but when I do so, it change the behavior of my jquery (1.8.3) ajax response. I'm running a wamp setup and my PHP version is 5.4.6. The strange thing is that my result always fall under the default switch statement and the ajax response fit both present statement. I noticed then if I just paste the Container class on the top of the handler.php file, everything works properly but it kind of defeat what I try to achieve. I tried different way to include the Container class but it seem to be than the issue is specific to this current scenario. • Backbone.js Model validation fails to prevent Model from saving

  I have defined a validate method for a Backbone.js Model. The problem is that even if validation fails (i.e. the Model.validate method returns a value) the post/put request is still sent to the server. This contradicts what is explained in the Backbone.js documentation. I cannot understand what I am doing wrong. I'm doing this very selectively to only very specific pages which have no real impact on session cookies or the like, i.e. which do not contain any personalised information. I'm guessing that the order of operation is wrong, and headers are being rewritten after the cache sees them. early header processing doesn't help either. I've experimented with CacheQuickHandler Off and trying to set explicit filter chains, but nothing is helping. But I'm really mostly poking in the dark, as I do not have a lot of experience with configuring Apache filter chains. Is there a straight forward solution for how to cache this obnoxious piece of code?

• Google analytics and multiple independent subdomains

  I need some help trying to setup google analytics correct. Here is my setup: We host sites for multiple customers, and each customer have their own subdomain on our site. So we have customerA.oursite.com and customerB.oursite.com As we add more customers we get more subdomains. We do want to track all data for each customer independent, but I don't want to to create a new google tracking code for each new customer. So my plan is to track all visits with "oursite.com", and then I will create a filter in google Analytics to get data for each specific customer(All visits for a specific subdomain). Is this(One tracking code, and a subdomain filter) the right way to do it? To create a subdomain filter i add a new profile for each customer, and then add a custom filter saying include "Request URI" and fill in "CustomerDomain.oursite.com". Is this the correct way to do it? And a general question about filters: Is it really impossible to create a new filter by applying it to data in an existing profile? I would really like to just collect all the data in one "main" profile and then create subdomain filters as we need them. I wanted the foreach ($_POST as &$value) and foreach ($_GET as &$value) loops to loop through the received info from the user submission and strip/remove all malicious input. I am calling a function called clean on the input first to achieve the objective as stated above. This function will process each of the input, whether individual field values or even arrays and allow only tags and remove everything else. The rest of it is obvious. Once this happens, the new/cleaned values will be processed by the fn_register() function and based on the values returned after the validation, we get the corresponding errors or NULL values (as applicable). So here's my questions: 1. This pretty much makes me feel secure as I am forcing the user to correct malicious data and won't process the final data unless the errors are corrected. Am I correct? Does the method that I follow guarantee the speed (as I am using lots of functions and their corresponding calls)? The fields of a form differ and the minimum number of fields I may have at any given point of time in any form may be 3 and can go upto as high as 100 (or even more, I am not sure as the website is still being developed). Will having 100's of fields and their validation in the above way, reduce the speed of application (say upto half a million users are accessing the website at the same time?). What can I do to improve the speed and reduce function calls (if possible)? 3, Can I do something to improve the current ways of validation? I am holding off object oriented approach and using FILTERS in PHP for the later. So please, I request you all to suggest me way to improve/tweak the current ways and suggest me if the script is vulnerable or safe enough to be used in a Live production environment. • Chart Filtering

  Interesting question from a colleague this week. Can you add a filter to a chart to just show a specific set of data? In an RTF template, you need to do a little finagling in the chart definition. In an online template, a couple of clicks and you're done. RTF Build your chart as you would normally to include all the data to start with. Now flip to the Advanced tab to see the code behind the chart. Its not very pretty but with a little effort you can get it looking a little more friendly. Here's my chart showing employees and their salaries. <Graph depthAngle="50" depthRadius="8" seriesEffect="SE_AUTO_GRADIENT"> <LegendArea visible="true"/>  <Title text="Executive Department Only" visible="true" horizontalAlignment="CENTER"/>  <LocalGridData colCount="{count(.//G_2)}" rowCount="1">   <RowLabels>    <Label>SALARY</Label>   </RowLabels>   <ColLabels>    <xsl:for-each select=".//G_2">     <Label><xsl:value-of select="EMP_NAME"/></Label>    </xsl:for-each>   </ColLabels>   <DataValues>    <RowData>     <xsl:for-each select=".//G_2">      <Cell><xsl:value-of select="SALARY"/></Cell>     </xsl:for-each>    </RowData>   </DataValues>  </LocalGridData> </Graph> Note the emboldened text. Its currently grabbing all values in the G_2 level of the data. We can use an XPATH expression to filter the data to the set we want to see. In my case I want to only see the employees that are in the Executive department. My  data is structured thus:   <DATA_DS>     <G_1>         <DEPARTMENT_NAME>Accounting</DEPARTMENT_NAME>         <G_2>             <MANAGER>Higgins</MANAGER>             <EMPLOYEE_ID>206</EMPLOYEE_ID>             <HIRE_DATE>2002-06-07T00:00:00.000-04:00</HIRE_DATE>             <SALARY>8300</SALARY>             <JOB_TITLE>Public Accountant</JOB_TITLE>             <PARAS>11000</PARAS>             <EMP_NAME>William Gietz</EMP_NAME>         </G_2> So the XPATH expression Im going to use to limit the data to the Executive department would be .//G_2[../DEPARTMENT_NAME='Executive'] Note the ../ moves the parser up the XML tree to be able to test the DEPARTMENT_NAME value. I added this XPATH expression to the three instances that need it ColCount, ColLabels and RowData. Its simple enough to do. Testing your XPATH expression is easier to do using a table of data. Please note, as soon as you make changes to the chart code. Going back to the Builder tab, you'll find that everything is grayed out. I recommend you make all the changes you can via the chart dialog before updating the code. Online Template Implementing the filter is much simpler, there is a dialog box to help you out. Add you chart and fill out the various data points you want to show. then hit the Filter item in the ribbon above the chart. That will pop the filter dialog box where you can then add a filter to the chart.   You can add multiple filters if needed and of course you can use the Manage Filters button to re-open and edit the filters. Pretty straightforward stuff!
