  • Firefox ignoring padding

    - by iMaster
    I have this CSS code: #tweet-container{ width: 290px; height: 272px; border: 1px solid #CCC; color: #CCC; font-size: 28px; text-align: center; letter-spacing: -2px; min-height: 10px; display: table-cell; vertical-align: middle; padding: 15px; } But firefox doesn't seem to recognize the top and bottom padding. Safari and Chrome both show it normally, and even in Firebug when I add padding-top: it doesn't work. Its like its not a valid statement or something. Is there something I'm missing?

    - by Subhen
    Hi, I have a custom Control which contains the generic.xaml inside the Themes folder. I have set the build action to Resource. Now from App.xaml I am setting the reference to the DLL by using : xmlns:localFolder="clr-namespace:customControl;assembly=customControl" After the reference is set I am trying to Merge the Resource dictionary in my App.xaml as follow: <Application.Resources> <ResourceDictionary> <ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> <ResourceDictionary Source="localFolder;component/Themes/generic.xaml"/> </ResourceDictionary.MergedDictionaries> </ResourceDictionary> </Application.Resources> But while running my application I am getting the following XAMLParseException: Attribute localFolder;component/Themes/generic.xaml value is out of range. • MVVM- How would I go about propagating settings between my main view-model (and other view-models) a

    - by Justin
    I am building a settings dialog for my application and right now all of the settings correspond with settings on the main view-model, but as I add more view's and view-models some may not. I need to know what the best practice is for loading the current settings into the settings dialog and then saving the settings to thier corresponding view-models if the user clicks okay. I will not be using the Properties.Settings.Default system to store settings since I want my application to be as portable as possible and this would store user scoped settings in the directory: C:\Users\ username \Local Settings\Application Data\ ApplicationName Instead of in my application's directory. In case it makes any difference I am using the MVVM Light Toolkit by Laurent Bugnion.

  • Silverlight - How do I make each item in a list box be the same height?

    - by NotDan
    How can I make a silverlight listbox have all items be the same size and have them take up 100% of the listbox height. I.e. 1 item would be the height of the listbox, 2 items would each be 50% of the height of the list box, etc... Edit - Here is the code public class UniformPanel : Panel { protected override Size MeasureOverride(Size availableSize) { Size panelDesiredSize = new Size(); for (int i = 0; i < Children.Count; i++) { UIElement child = Children[i]; child.Measure(availableSize); var childDesiredSize = child.DesiredSize; panelDesiredSize.Height += childDesiredSize.Height; if (panelDesiredSize.Width < childDesiredSize.Width) { panelDesiredSize.Width = childDesiredSize.Width; } } return panelDesiredSize; } protected override Size ArrangeOverride(Size finalSize) { double height = finalSize.Height/Children.Count; for (int i = 0; i < Children.Count; i++) { UIElement child = Children[i]; Size size = new Size(finalSize.Width, height); child.Arrange(new Rect(new Point(0, i * height), size)); } return finalSize; // Returns the final Arranged size } }

  • Continue overflow:auto behavior when page is resized smaller, instead of shifting to the side?

    - by danielle
    Sorry if the title was confusing; I've included some screen shots to more clearly explain my problem. I have a page that has a side navigation menu on the left, and a main div (with the tables) on the right: When the page is resized to be smaller, the "overflow-x:auto" property of the "main" div brings up a horizontal scrollbar: However, when the window becomes narrow to the point that the "main" div reaches the border of the side navigation menu (with the title "Contents"), the "main" div ceases to continue producing the horizontal scrollbar and instead meshes with the menu: Here is the CSS for the "main" div: #main { height: 100%; width: 65%; min-width: 10%; float:right; overflow-y: auto; overflow-x: auto; padding: 0 20px 20px;} and the left side menu: #sidenav{ margin-left: 20px; float: left; overflow-x:auto; overflow-y:auto;} Both of those divs are encapsulated together in "container": .container { bottom: 20px; left: 0; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 50px; } How can I rewrite my code in such a way that the "main" div will continue to use its horizontal scrollbar, and never cross the boundary of the side navigation menu? Thanks in advance!

  • Changing label content programmatically from within a DataTemplate used in a DataGrid column header

    - by iimpact
    I'm dynamically creating DataGrid columns (based on an event from my ViewModel) and programmatically adding them to an existing DataGrid. Each column uses a generic HeaderTemplate by setting it to a DataTemplate that has been identified in the xaml. The DataTemplate contains two labels in which needs their content needs to be changed upon creation of the DataGrid column. How would this be done? I understand that the DataTemplate uses the ContentPresenter but I am having trouble accessing it within a dynamically created DataGrid column. Code is as follows: xaml: (template used to format the DataGrid column header): <DataTemplate x:Key="columnTemplate"> <StackPanel> <Label Padding="0" Name="labelA"/> <Separator HorizontalAlignment="Stretch"/> <Label Padding="0" Name="labelB"/> </StackPanel> </DataTemplate> c#: (used to dynamically create a DataGrid column and add it to an existing DataGrid) var dataTemplate = FindResource("columnTemplate") as DataTemplate; var column = new DataGridTextColumn(); column.HeaderTemplate = dataTemplate; DataGrid1.Columns.Add(column); I would like to then access both labelA and labelB and change the content.

  • Cross Browser Issue

    - by dazedandconfused
    My background is in WinForms programming and I'm trying to branch out a bit. I'm finding cross-browser issues a frustrating barrier in general, but have a specific one that I just can't seem to work through. I want to display an image and place a semi-transparent bar across the top and bottom. This isn't my ultimate goal, of course, but it demonstrates the problem I'm having ina a relatively short code fragment so let's go with it. The sample code below displays as intended in Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. In IE8, the bar at the bottom doesn't appear at all. I've researched it for hours but just can't seem to come up with the solution. I'm sure this is some dumb rookie mistake, but gotta start somewhere. Code snippet... <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> </script> <style type="text/css"> .workarea { position: relative; border: 1px solid black; background-color: #ccc; overflow: hidden; cursor: move; -moz-user-focus: normal; -moz-user-select: none; unselectable: on; } .semitransparent { filter: alpha(opacity=70); -moz-opacity: 0.7; -khtml-opacity: 0.7; opacity: 0.7; background-color: Gray; } </style> </head> <body style="width: 800px; height: 600px;"> <div id="workArea" class="workarea" style="width: 800px; height: 350px; left: 100px; top: 50px; background-color: White; border: 1px solid black;"> <img alt="" src="images/TestImage.jpg" style="left: 0px; top: 0px; border: none; z-index: 1;" /> <div id="topBar" class="semitransparent" style="position: absolute;width: 800px; height: 75px; left: 0px; top: 0px; min-height: 75px; border: none; z-index: 2;" /> <div id="bottomBar" class="semitransparent" style="position: absolute; width: 800px; height: 75px; left: 0px; top: 275px; min-height: 75px; border: none; z-index: 2;" /> </div> </body> </html>

  • Scrolling a listbox with page up/down

    - by orca
    I had an ItemsControl, which you could use page up/down buttons to scroll expectedly. I switched it with a ListBox, to apply (thru triggers) a new DataTemplate when an item is selected. Everything works fine, until using pageup or pagedown buttons. Instead of scrolling one page, it scrolls till the end or the beginning. My previous attemps: Not changing the item height when DataTemplate changes Removed IsSelected=True trigger completely All SelectionMode values Do I miss something trivial?

  • CSS menu broken in Firefox (display:table-cell;)

    - by roman m
    HTML: <td align="center" width="100%"> <a class="Forum_ib_moderate" href="Default.aspx" title="Moderate"></a> <a class="Forum_ib_admin" href="Default.aspx" title="Admin"></a> ... CSS: A.Forum_ib_moderate:link, A.Forum_ib_moderate:visited, A.Forum_ib_moderate:active, A.Forum_ib_moderate:hover { background-image: url(images/ib_moderate.png); background-repeat: no-repeat; background-position: center; padding-left: 2px; padding-right: 2px; padding-top: 8px; padding-bottom: 0px; height: 35px; width: 35px; display:table-cell; } A.Forum_ib_admin:hover { background-image: url(images/ib_admin_hover.png); } the menu looks just fine in IE, shows up vertical in Firefox. If i turn off "display:table-cell;" style in Firebug and then turn it back on, it fixes that menu node. any ideas? p.s.: i don't want to mess with the menu itself, since it's a part of a DNN Forum 4.4.3. I'd rather fix the CSS to make it show correctly.

  • Finding the TextBlock that is part of the default control template ComboBox generated through code.

    - by uriya
    I'm trying to find the TextBlock that is inside the control template of a comboBox. using VisualTreeHelpar.GetChildrenCount is working only if the comboBox is declared in XAML.In that case GetChildrenCount returns 1 and a recursive search is possible. However, if I declare the combo as a member of the Window class using code, allocated and setting it to its place, the function GetChildrenCount return 0. When I run snoop in this scenario It shows the combo children hierarchy. I want to be able to search the comboBox just as snoop does. Any help would be appreciated. code: ComboBox mCombo = null; private void Windows_Loaded(object sender, RoutedEventArgs e) { mCombo = new ComboBox; mGrid.Children.Add(mCombo); Grid.SetRow(mCombo,0); int count = VisualTreeHelpar.GetChildrenCount(mCombo); }

  • ViewModel updates after Model server roundtrip

    - by Pavel Savara
    I have stateless services and anemic domain objects on server side. Model between server and client is POCO DTO. The client should become MVVM. The model could be graph of about 100 instances of 20 different classes. The client editor contains diverse tab-pages all of them live-connected to model/viewmodel. My problem is how to propagate changes after server round-trip nice way. It's quite easy to propagate changes from ViewModel to DTO. For way back it would be possible to throw away old DTO and replace it whole with new one, but it will cause lot of redrawing for lists/DataTemplates. I could gather the server side changes and transmit them to client side. But the names of fields changed would be domain/DTO specific, not ViewModel specific. And the mapping seems nontrivial to me. If I should do it imperative way after round-trip, it would break SOC/modularity of viewModels. I'm thinking about some kind of mapping rule engine, something like automappper or emit mapper. But it solves just very plain use-cases. I don't see how it would map/propagate/convert adding items to list or removal. How to identify instances in collections so it could merge values to existing instances. As well it should propagate validation/error info. Maybe I should implement INotifyPropertyChanged on DTO and try to replay server side events on it ? And then bind ViewModel to it ? Would binding solve the problems with collection merges nice way ? Is EventAgregator from PRISM useful for that ? Is there any event record-replay component ? Is there better client side pattern for architecture with server side logic ?

  • Get logical path from treeview which has HierarchicalDataTemplate

    - by phenevo
    Hi, I have a structure of geography objects: Country Areas, Provinces, Cities and Hotels Country has regions, regions provinces etc... Whne I'll click City node I wanna to get logical path eg: France,Provanse,SomeProvince,Montpellier,Coral Hotel. Each class has fields: name, code nad listOf... Treeview works great, but this method not: private void structureTree_SelectedItemChanged(object sender, RoutedPropertyChangedEventArgs<object> e) { if (structureTree.SelectedItem is Hotel) { objectCode = ((Hotel)structureTree.SelectedItem).Code; TreeViewItem item = e.OriginalSource as TreeViewItem; DependencyObject parent = VisualTreeHelper.GetParent(item); dlgEditHotel(objectCode, structureTree.Parent.ToString()); } }

  • Using a FormattedText object, how do I find out how much of my text was actually displayed?

    - by Robert
    If I have code like this: FormattedText text = new FormattedText(sTheBook, System.Globalization.CultureInfo.CurrentUICulture, System.Windows.FlowDirection.LeftToRight, new Typeface("Times New Roman"), 13, Brushes.Black); text.MaxTextWidth = 300; text.MaxTextHeight = 600; text.TextAlignment = TextAlignment.Justify; dc.DrawText(text, new Point(10, 0)); ...then, if it is long, only some of the text that I passed in (via sTheBook) will be displayed on the screen. I need to know how much was displayed so I can display the rest later! I can easily measure an amount of text, but it seems silly to do a search by rendering and re-rendering my text over and over until I find the piece that fits exactly. Thanks!
