  • How are DynamicResources built? Use in contextmenus.

    Are dynamic resources truly dynamic? If I define a DynamicResource, I realise that an expression is created (where?) that is not translated into a resource until runtime, however, What I do not understans is whether this dynamicresouce, once built, is now "Static" For instance, if I create a context menu via a dynamicresource, are the menuitems which are created at runtime on access then static, even if they are bound? If so, how can i create a dynamic context menu in XAML?

  • Android Extend BaseExpandableListAdapter

    I am trying to extend the BaseExpandableListAdapter, however when once I view the list and I select one of the elements to expand, the order of the list gets reversed. For example, if I have a list with 4 elements and select the 1st element, the order (from top to bottom) is now 4, 3, 2, 1 with the 4th element (now at the top) expanded. If I unexpand the 4th element the order reverts to 1, 2, 3, 4 with no expanded elements. Any help on either of these is greatly appreciated!

    I have a uri string like: http://example.com/file?a=1&b=2&c=string%20param Is there an existing function that would convert query parameter string into a dictionary same way as ASP.NET Context.Request does it. I'm writing a console app and not a web-service so there is no Context.Request to parse the URL for me. I know that it's pretty easy to crack the query string myself but I'd rather use a FCL function is if exists.

  • Stubbing a before_filter with RSpec

    Guys, I'm having trouble understanding why I can't seem to stub this controller method :load_user, since all of my tests fail if I change the actual implementation of :load_user to not return and instance of @user.   • Is there any framework for Windows Forms, DB driven application development/prototyping?

    I'm writing simple database driven application, 80% of functionality is CRUD operations on about 15 tables. Coming from web development background I figured I can cover almost all of these CRUD cases with Rails scaffolding or say Django admins. So I started to look around for Rails/Django-like framework but for Windows Forms applications (ofcourse I understand that "rich client" application development significantly differs from a web development and I'm not expecting anything really similar). I was surprised that except for a variety of ORMs (let's call it Model-layer) it seems like I'm left with little choice when it comes to View-Controller layer. Maybe I'm missing something? PS. I evaluated Visual Studio DataSet Designer, but it seems to work only for the most simple cases, and requires additional code for any slightly nontrivial task.     In asynchronous environments, threading.local is not guaranteed to be context-local anymore, because several contexts may coexist within a single thread. Most asynchronous frameworks (gevent, eventlet) provide a get_current_context() functionality to identify the current context. Some offer a way to monkey-patch threading.local so it is local to 'greenthreads' or other framework-specific contexts. I cannot find such a functionality in the twisted documentation. How do I do this?

All of our code uses these messages to display useful information to the end user and since moving to Linq2SQL I cannot figure out how to show these messages.     Even if I have different modules in my jee application including myproject-web and myproject-ejb; is it possible to call (or inject) my ejb session bean which is in the ejb module from a managed bean which is in the web module? When I asked before, I see the following declaration: @EJB private BeanInterface yourbean However, I wanna learn that whether it is possible or not, to call each other between different contexts (one of it in ejb context, the other one -managed bean- is in web context)?   • Web framework recommendation for python (webservices, auth, cache, ...)

    Hi all, Googling for the past week, but cannot finally decide which python web framework would be right for me. The web app I'm about to develop would be almost completely "pure" html with js (jQuery). Server side would have to do the following: authentication session management caching web services (almost all the on page data would be pulled with jQuery through web services) secured web services (through some form of authentication; this is for remote accessing some of the web services though other web apps, desktop/mobile applications) If there is a good tutorial/guide/idea for how to do this in Django I would be most thankfull if someone could share it as I already have experience with it. The thing that made me start thinking about other frameworks is Django's built in ORM. I know I could swap it with SQLAlchemy, but wouldn't go down that road if I'm not sure all the rest of the requirements is supported. Thanks all in advance.

    I have a makeshift events system in JS and the attacher looks like this: events.attach(events.NEW_TASK,this.update); Where this.update is a callback/handler/function. The problem is, when the dispatcher tries to call this handler, it loses it's original context. How can I bind the handler with the context of the object that calls the attach function without passing this as an argument and using that?

  • NetBeans needs Javadoc, Eclipse does not?

    I just installed NetBeans, and want to try it out. Some context tips (popup javadoc stuff) work, but nothing detailed. It says "Javadoc not found...". However, I use Eclipse (my current IDE) and it has no problem showing detailed context tips. Do I HAVE to download the 100+mb zip file to get the javadoc, or can I have Netbeans point to whatever Eclipse is already aware of?

However, I have noticed that the context returns YES for hasChanges as soon as a managed object in it is even referenced e.g. NSString *name = managedObject.name; This context is created and used exclusively in 1 method. Why is it returning has changes, when there there are none?

  • fire an intent from the onCreate method in android

    Maybe my question might seem a bit weird, but I have an activity in which, in one case , I have to move to another activity before it finishes loading the screen. My condition is in the onCreate method, which means when I encounter it, i get a "startActivity called from outside an activity context" error and the app just crashes... But then, is there an easy way like a flag for the intent to make it work without having the activity context resolved? thanks for any answer

    Hello, on my web site I want to have login/registration form in modal window done using facebox (jQuery plugin). What is better: Create view with one method and template that has form and refer facebox to this view. Create static HTML file in public directory and refer facebox to this static page. What I want to achieve is: Easy verification (like "user name already taken", "password confirmation doesn't match password" and stuff like that). Easy submit and redirect I'm new to Rails, I just know about forms verification in Django, so for Django I would probably choose option 1, but it might be another thing in Ruby.

  • Does it make sense to have a model with only static methods?

    Hey everyone, I have an ASP.NET MVC 2 project that I'm working on and I'm wondering where I should place some of my code. I currently have a UsersModel which consists of a bunch of static methods that operate against my data context. These methods include such things as: UserExistsInDatabase, UserIsRegisteredForActivity, GetUserIdFromFacebookId etc etc. Should these methods be inside a UsersModel class or would they be more suited to a user helper class outside of the models context?   • Can you in any way interface Ruby Gems with PHP, Python, etc.?

    Stupid question, and forgive me for asking, but someone is asking me, and I am not a super expert with Rails yet. Suppose I have some Rails gem I write. Now suppose a customer has some other framework, like Django or CakePHP, and I want to provide the functionality offered by my gem (eg. CRUD for automotive data) to them as a module in their framework. Could I somehow make it so they could interface my gem with Django or CakePHP? Obviously I could do something with some API magic--and I'll probably end up going that route. But I just want to know whether there is a way to directly interface with Gems from a non-Rails application.

  • ASP.NET MVC & Windsor.Castle: working with HttpContext-dependent services

    I have several dependency injection services which are dependent on stuff like HTTP context. Right now I'm configuring them as singletons the Windsor container in the Application_Start handler, which is obviously a problem for such services. What is the best way to handle this? I'm considering making them transient and then releasing them after each HTTP request. But what is the best way/place to inject the HTTP context into them? Controller factory or somewhere else?
