  • How can I include additional markup within a 'Content' inner property of an ASP.Net WebControl?

    I've searched the site and I cannot find a solution for my problem, so apologies if it's already been answered (I'm sure someone must have asked this before). I have written a jQuery Popup window that I've packaged up as a WebControl and IScriptControl. The last step is to be able to write the markup within the tags of my control. I've used the InnerProperty attribute a few times, but only for including lists of strongly typed classes. Here's my property on the WebControl: [PersistenceMode(PersistenceMode.InnerProperty)] [DesignerSerializationVisibility(DesignerSerializationVisibility.Content)] public something??? Content { get { if (_content == null) { _content = new something???(); } return _content; } } private something??? _content; Here's the HTML Markup of what I'm after: <ctr:WebPopup runat="server" ID="win_Test" Hidden="false" Width="100px" Height="100px" Modal="true" WindowCaption="Test Window" CssClass="window"> <Content> <div style="display:none;"> <asp:Button runat="server" ID="Button1" OnClick="Button1_Click" /> </div> <%--Etc--%> <%--Etc--%> </Content> </ctr:WebPopup> Unfortunately I don't know what type my Content property should be. I basically need to replicate the UpdatePanel's ContentTemplate. EDIT: So the following allows a Template container to be automatically created, but no controls show up, what's wrong with what I'm doing?     Hi folks, Is it possible to step through the official ASP.NET MVC 2 code via using the Symbol Server thingy in visual studio 2010? I know I can download the full open source MVC code from codeplex, build it and then get my code to reference THAT codebase dll's... But i'm wondering if this could be achieved by using the Symbol Server stuff instead? If so, can someone go through some steps please, about how to achieve this?

    I have an ASP.NET .ASMX web service that I converted to .NET 4.0 with VS 2010 and is hosted in an IIS 7.5 (Windows 7) application pool. I have a simple html page that I use to make the AJAX request to the web service. How can I debug what's going on in the web service in Visual Studio? Because the HTML ajax request doesn't seem "tied in" to the web service, which is located on my local IIS service, I can't figure out how to debug it.

I already get all Types defined, but there is no IsStatic property. Counting 0 constructors is really slow and did not work either. Any tips or a line of code? :-) Chris

    I read that doing: public final void foo() {} is equals to: private static void foo() {} both meaning that the method is not overridable! But I don't see the equivalence if a method is private it's automatically not accessible...
