So %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\hmmapi.dll becomes C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\hmmapi.dll I like to know if there is an API call that can do this, or do I have to do this the hard way and detect %..% sequences and replace them with the appropriate environment variable?

  I just noticed something concerning for-loop performance that seems to fly in the face of the recommendations given by the Google Android team. However, the code that uses a variable which contains the precomputed value for the loop limit is significantly slower than either of the others. I'm not surprised that accessing a variable should be slower that using a literal but why does code that looks like it should be using two multiply instructions on every iteration of the loop so comparable in performance to a literal? Could it be that because literals are the only thing being multiplied, the Java compiler is optimizing out the multiplication and using a precomputed literal?

  I've been using xdebug to do php debugging (netbeans or eclipse). I am usually able to inspect variables OK. However, sometimes when I expand a disclosure triangle for a variable -- typically when the client is making an AJAX call -- it will result in an empty response being returned and causing the AJAX call to fail. Has anyone run into this? Is there a way to make PHP debugging with xdebug more robust? (Not being able to inspect variables defeats the purpose of a debugger. Thanks

  hi there, I have a stored procedure and trying to run "sp_OACreate" but fall over with the following message: Msg 50000, Level 16, State 1, Procedure HTTP_REQUEST, Line 26 sp_OACreate on MSXML2.XMLHttp.4.0 failed That occurs because I am setting a variable to get the return value of sp_OACreate and raise the above error if the return value is not 0. Now, the return value I get is "-6" but i don't know why it is happening? Any help on this would be good to help make this work.

But, after 4 hours of research, trial-and-error, and head-banging I haven't been able to resolve it. Please help. My goal is to get a dbms_xmldom.DOMNodeList that contains "ERRORS" nodes.   Hi, I've run into a problem on a server running php 5.1.6 - the code i use to detect ajax requests isn't working as the $_SERVER['HTTP_X_REQUESTED_WITH'] variable is missing from the $_SERVER array. The same code works fine on php 5.2 and in firebug i can see the headers include X-Requested-With XMLHttpRequest. Anyone know any more about this issue and how I can get round it? Thanks in advance.
