Item 2 will have a list of 2 dataobjects as its children member and so on. I have been trying to populate this tree (or rather a forest) using just 1 SLOC using LINQ. A simple group by gives me the desired data but the challenge is to organize it in TreeNode objects. Can someone give a hint or an impossibility result for this?

  I've been going around in circles for a while on this one now. I'm trying to connect to a distributed queue manager using a supplied channel table file. I can get this to work if I specify the environmental variable MQCHLLIB and MQCHLTAB on my server. However the IBM documentation states that the .net config file can override these variables. Here is what I have placed in my web.config file: ... <configSections> <section name="CHANNELS" type="System.Configuration.NameValueSectionHandler" /> </configSections> <CHANNELS> <add key="ChannelDefinitionDirectory" value="C:\temp"></add> <add key="ChannelDefinitionFile" value="DSM_MOM_TEST.tab"></add> </CHANNELS> ... Is there something that I've missed in the code? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

• Codeigniter/mySQL question. Checking if several inserts are possible before actual insertion.

  Hey SO, So I'm trying to perform a couple inserts at once that are kind of co-dependent on each other. Let's say I'm doing a dog rating website. Anyone can add a dog to my database, but in doing so they also need to add a preliminary rating of the dog. Other people can then rate the dog afterwards. The dogs to ratings is a many to one relationship: a dog has many ratings. This means for my preliminary add, since I have the person both rate and add the dog, I need to take the rating, and set a foreign key to the dog's primary key. As far as I know, this means I have to actually add the dog, then check what that new addition's primary key is, and then put that in my rating before insertion. Now suppose something were to go wrong with the rating's insert, be it a string that's too long, or something that I've overlooked somehow. If the rating's failed, the dog has already been inserted, but the rating has not. In this case, I'd like the dog to not have been added in the first place. Does this mean I have to write code that says "if the rating fails, do a remove for the dog," or is there a way to predict what the key will be for the dog should everything go as planned. Is there a way to say "hold that spot," and then if everything works, add it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

• How to maintain ComboBox.SelectedItem reference when DataSource is resorted?

  This really seems like a bug to me, but perhaps some databinding gurus can enlighten me? (My WinForms databinding knowledge is quite limited.) I have a ComboBox bound to a sorted DataView. When the properties of the items in the DataView change such that items are resorted, the SelectedItem in my ComboBox does not keep in-sync. It seems to point to someplace completely random. Is this a bug, or am I missing something in my databinding? Here is a sample application that reproduces the problem. However, when run together as shown above, Oracle gives me an error when it starts the second statement: Error report: ORA-06550: line 15, column 1: PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "BEGIN" 06550. 00000 - "line %s, column %s:\n%s" *Cause: Usually a PL/SQL compilation error. *Action: I'm assuming that this means the first statement is not terminated properly... is there anything I should put inbetween the statements to make it work properly? System.Diagnostics.Process.Start(@"C:\Windows\system32\notepad.exe"); inside the timer tick event & interval is 60 sec.i just wanted to try to run Windows service. 1st-serviceProcessInstaller1 i have been changed its account setting as local system. 2nd-serviceInstaller1 in this case i have been changed its start up type as Automatic. then i create a setup add another project then right click add project output then add primary output then press ok. then go to Right click on project-view-custom Action-right click on Install-Add custom Action-select Application folder & add primary output.the same thing done for all the remaining options like commit,rollback,uninstall. after that i build the setup it build succesfully then i install the setup it installed properly into program file n create one .exe file n one Instalfile. but problem is that when i search the service into "services.msc" the service is not there. means service is not showing there.i tried but not getting the ans.plz help me to solve this problem.

  I am using SQLexpress and VS2008. I have a DB with a table named "A", which has an IdentitySpecification column named ID. The ID is auto-incremented. Even if the row is deleted, the ID still increases. After several data manipulation, the current ID has reached 15, for example. When I run the application if there's at least 1 row: if I add a new row, the new ID is 16. Everything is fine. If the table is empty (no row): if I add a new row, the new ID is 0, which is an error (I think). And further data manipulation (eg. delete or update) will result in an unhandled exception. Has anyone encountered this? PS. • How to serialize each item in IEnumerable for ajax post

  I have a PartialView that displays IEnumerable<Movie>. _MoviePartial.cshtml @foreach(var movie in Model) { <div class="content"> <span class="image"><img src="@movie.Posters.Profile" alt="@movie.Title"/></span> <span class="title">@movie.Title</span> <div class="score`"> <span class="critics-score">@movie.Ratings.CriticsScore</span> <span class="audience-score">@movie.Ratings.AudienceScore</span> </div> @Html.ActionLink("Add Movie", "Add", "MyMovies") </div> } When the user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I am going to do an ajax post to add the selected movie to the users collection. My problem is that I would like to send the entire selected Movie class to the "Add" action but not sure how to serialize each movie since the entire Movie class is not rendered in the PartialView, just a few properties. I know I can serialize something like this... <script type="text/javascript"> var obj = @Html.Raw(Json.Encode(movie)); </script> But I'm not sure how that would work inside a foreach loop that renders html, especially inside a PartialView. So, just to be clear, when a user clicks the "Add Movie" ActionLink I would like to send the serialized Movie class for that respective movie to my controller via ajax. My questions is... Is there a better way to serialize each movie and append it to it's respective anchor? I know there's the data- html5 attribute but I thought they only allow string values, not json objects. I also know I could use jQuery's .data() function but I'm struggling to think through how to get that to run from a PartialView, especially since the html rendered by _MoviePartial.cshtml may be returned from a controller via ajax.

I've added a few textboxes, 1 combobox and 3 textboxes that function as viewing of some datetimepickers that I have to use for dates. I've chosen to use textboxes in combination with datetimepicker because I also need to get and set the value NULL to the database. The problem is that when i call dataset.AcceptChanges() on that dataset that is binded using databinding to those controls it doesn't update the data that's contained in those three textboxes and the combobox. All the new stuff i've added works just fine. txtDataAcordare.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataAcordare.DataBindings.Add("Text",dtPersonal,"d_DataAcordare"); txtDataInceput.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataInceput.DataBindings.Add("Text", dtPersonal, "d_DataInceput"); txtDataSfarsit.DataBindings.Clear(); txtDataSfarsit.DataBindings.Add("Text", dtPersonal, "d_DataSfarsit"); this is the code i use to add the databinding. In this example I'm expecting to get back -1000, but for the life of me, I just can't come up with the proper lamda expression.   I'm trying to store a user list in a config file. I've been looking at DictionarySectionHandler and NameValueSectionHandler. I'm not too sure what the difference between these two is, but anyway, neither of them do exactly what I'd like. You can add a custom config section like so: <configSections> <section name="userAges" type="System.Configuration.DictionarySectionHandler"/> </configSections> <userAges> <add key="userName1" value="10" /> <add key="userName2" value="52" /> <userAges> Which is ok, but actually I'd prefer to be able to write: ... <userAges> <add user="userName1" age="10" /> <add user="userName2" age="52" /> <userAges> Which I feel would make the config file clearer to anyone who needed to add/remove users in future. Is there an easy way to do this?

One of the requirements was NOT to disable ValidateRequest (ValidateRequest=”false”). For this project (and any other project) I felt it wasn’t necessary to disable ValidateRequest. Note: I’ve search for alternatives for the posting issue and everyone and their mothers continually suggested to disable ValidateRequest. That bothers me – a LOT. So, disabling ValidateRequest is totally out of the question (and always will be).  So I thought to modify how the “data: “ gets serialized. the ajax data fix was simple, add a .html(). YES!!! IT WORKS!!! No more “potentially dangerous” issue, ajax form posts (and does it beautifully)! So if you’re using jQuery to $.ajax() a form with CKEditor, remember to do: Code Snippet data: $("#form0Add").serialize().html(), or bad things will happen. Also, don’t forget to set Code Snippet config.htmlEncodeOutput = true; for the CKEditor config.js file (or equivalent). Example: Code Snippet CKEDITOR.editorConfig = function( config ) {     // Define changes to default configuration here.
