  • Asyncronus javascript rendering widgets

    Hey all, I'm creating a javascript widget so third partys (web designers) can post a link on their website and it will render the widget on their site. Currently, I'm doing this with just a script link tag: <div class="some_random_div_in_html_body"> <script type='text/javascript' src='http://remotehost.com/link/to/widget.js'></script> </div> However, this has the side-effect of slowing down a thrid party's website render times of the page if my site is under a load. Therefore, I'd like the third party website to request the widget link from my site asyncronously and then render it on their site when the widget link loads completely. The Google Analytics javascript snippet seems to have a nice bit of asyncronous code that does a nice async request to model off of, but I'm wondering if I can modify it so that it will render content on the third party's site.     Any help is appreciated: I'm developing a C#.Net app in VS2010 that interacts with Excel. The app works correctly on my local machine. Uploading to a remote Windows 2003 server however, breaks the app. Originally, I received the following message Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005 After Googling the problem (which suggested a permissions problem) i tried this: Installing Excel 2007 Going into Component Services on the remote server and following the instructions here: http://blog.crowe.co.nz/archive/2006/03/02/589.aspx Now I get this message on the same operation: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC Google searches seem to be suggesting that this is a version match error. However, both the local machine and the remote server use Excel 2007. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks in advance. -Daniel

  • Cannot receive email outside domain with Microsoft Exchange

    This morning we couldn't receive email from outside our company's domain (domain.com.au), but we can send email to outside (e.g hotmail, gmail, yahoo). When I tried to send email to my work email address using my gmail account, I received this message Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Unable to relay for [email protected] (state 14). I tried using telnet to send email, and it works. But still I couldn't figure out why I can't receive email from outside. I'm not sure if I provided enough info. I'll try to provide as much info as needed to help me solve the problem. Thanks

  • VS2010. Dropdownlist Autopostback works in IDE, not when deployed

    I have a VS2010 RC ASP.NET web page,when a user changes the drop down selection on an auto postback dropdown, it refreshes a small grid and a few labels in various places on the page. I know wrapping a whole page in a big UpdatePanel control will cause horror from many of you, but that's what I did. I really didn't want a full page refresh and I didn't know how to update a table on the client side using Javascript and I figured it would be a big change. Suggestions for avoiding this are welcomed, but my main desire is to understand teh error I am getting. When I do the auto postbacks in the IDE, everything works fine, but if I deploy the code (IIS 5.5 on XP), the second auto postback works but the seconds one gives me his error. Ajax is one big nasty blackbox to me. Can someone help, please?   • Bug Running Android Tutorial HelloTabWidget under SDK 1.5: "setCurrentTag(getIntent())"

    does not compile. Indeed: even in 1.5, this api, getIntent(), is already listed as deprecated. The error message I get complains that getIntent() does not return a String, but setCurrentTab() expects a string. If I guess and change the line to read: "tabHost.setCurrentTab(1); // was setCurrentTab(getIntent())", then it compiles, builds, but does not run. I get the "stopped unexpectedly" error message from the emulator. I cannot even get Log.d to output, so it seems that it stops 'unexpectedly' very early. So the first and main question is: what is the correct fix to "tabHost.setCurrentTab(getIntent())" in the final line of OnCreate() in http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/views/hello-tabwidget.html? The second and simpler question is: did I guess right in replacing 'mTabHost' with tabHost in the one place where that occurs?

  • JSLint reports "Unexpected dangling" character in an underscore prefixed variable name

    I know that some people consider the presence of a leading underscore to imply that a variable is "private," that such privacy is a fiction, and assume this is why JSLint reports such names with an error message. I use Google Analytics on a Web site I am building. I make reference to GA's variables, such as "_gaq." I am trying to get my JS code to be 100% JSLint clean (I'm not religious about my coding style, and so will go with Mr. Crockford's counsel). That said, I can't do anything about Google's variables names... so, I guess I can't get 100% "clean." I post here in case I've misunderstood the message, and can do something to comply with JSLint practices.

    Hi, I am receiving the above message when making a request to a java webservice. We originally created a Java Console application and manually submitted an xml file. When running this as a Java Application the response is successfully created and displayed by using System.out.println. We are creating the web service by selecting the java file that contains the methods and choosing "create webservice" specifying the dynamic project that the webservice is to be created in and the methods to be exposed. The build path for this includes the following contents of sun\jwsdp-2.0\jaxb\lib: jaxb-api.jar jsr173_1.0_api.jar jaxb-impl.jar I have added these to the lib folder in the WEB-INF file of the dynamic project. I am running the webservice in JBuilder 2008 R2 and using SOAPUI to submit the request - this points to the wsdl generated when creating the webservice. If anyone has any help or ideas on how to solve this could they please reply - thanks for taking the time to read this post!

I'm using a wsdl-first approach (actually for the first time), defining first the xsd for the complex types, the WSDL and then using svcutil.exe for generating the according server as well as client-side interfaces/proxies. So far everything works fine. Then I decided to add a fault to my WSDL. Regenerating with svcutil succeeded, but then I noticed that my generated fault doesn't have the properties I defined in my xsd file (which is imported by my WSDL).   • ASP.NET Web Service Throws 401 (unauthorized) Error

    Hi Experts, I have this .NET application to be run in an intranet environment. It is configured so that it requires Windows Authentication before you can access the website (Anonymous access is disabled). This website calls a web service (enable anonymous access) and the web service calls the DB. We do have a token-based authentication between the web application and the web service to secure the communication between them. The issue I'm facing is that when I deploy this to production, I'm having an intermittent issue whereby the communication between the web application and the web service failed. The 401 issue was thrown. This is actually working fine in our QA environment. Is this an issue with Active Directory? Or could it be an isssue with FQDN as mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;896861? The weirdest thing is that this is happening intermittently when tested in both on the server itself and a remote workstation in my client's environment.   • BroadCast Messages to multiple client on the same machine

    I need to have a server on one machine that broadcasts a message sever second or so, Kind of like a service discovery. The message needs to be received by multiple client processes that could be on the same machine or different machines. Im using delphi7, with indy 9.0.18 where im stuck is if i should be using UDP or IP MultiCast or if its even possible... Ive managed to get it to work with IP Multi Cast with one client per machine, but even after many trys with different bindings.. max/min ports etc, i cant seem to find a solution.

    I have a C# windows service which listens to a MSMQ and sends each message out as an email. Since there's no UI, I'd like to offer an ability to monitor this service to see things such as # messages in queue, # emails sent (by message type perhaps), # of errors, etc. What is the best/recommended way to accomplish this? Is it WMI or performance counters? Is this data viewed using PerfMon or WMI CIM Studio? Does any approach allow one to monitor the service real-time as well as providing historical analysis? I can dig into the details myself but would appreciate some broad guidance to help demystify this subject.

(A popular suggestion is to move the uses-sdk element to the top of the manifest, but as you can see it's already at the top.) Clues welcome/appreciated. Update: I just tried to upload the same file again. Now I get a new message: The new apk's versionCode (2) in AndroidManifest.xml must be higher than the old apk's versionCode (2). The server could not process your apk. Try again. Soooo Marketplace did get my upgraded apk after all? (The very first accepted apk's versionCode was 1, so this update was of course bumped to 2.) Confused … Bumping it up to 3 and trying again. Surprise surprise, I get the original "could not process" error all over again. Going in circles. Hmm ... :( Nuther Update: If I exit and re-enter the Marketplace page, now it shows that the app has been uploaded! Except there's no app icon. Curiouser and curiouser ... and this is all happening with a cache-cleared (standards-friendly) browser to boot. So - do I trust the upload? Or start over ... with versionCode="4"? All I want is to get a solid "Upload successful, here's the icon, ready to publish" type of response.

Further on the Guice FAQ I stumble upon a question about how to inject generics. I tried to add the following binding in the configure method: bind(new TypeLiteral<StringOutput<Double>>() {}).toInstance(new StringOutput<Double>()); But without success (same error message).   • ActiveReports nested subreport rendering resulting in error

    I'm having a problem with an ActiveReports(3.0) report which contains nested subreports. The problem is that the child/grandchild subreports are rendering before their predecessor has completed rendering so the XMLDataSource cannot be set properly. It seems to be a purely timing issue has occassionally if I am debugging the report in Visual Studio and stepping through the code the report will generate but mostly I get an error message: "FileURL not set or empty" The FileURL is supposed to be empty has we are dynamically loading the XML to the report. The structure of the report is: Parent Child1 Child2 GrandChild2-1 GrandChild2-2 I found one solution going back to 2004 on Data Dynamics website that you basically have to force the subreports to look at the parent. ((DataDynamics.ActiveReports.DataSources.XMLDataSource) subrpt.DataSource).FileURL = ((DataDynamics.ActiveReports.DataSources.XMLDataSource) this.DataSource).FileURL; This seemed to work for a while until I took out all my breakpoints and tried to run it and now it just gives me the error message. If anyone has ran across this or has any suggestions on getting around it, it would be greatly appreciated. Running ActiveReports 5.3.1436.2 thanks, Chris

  • hibernate and ehcache replication

    Hi, I am working on a cache replication solution between nodes Node A - master node = Hibernate + Database + Ehcache as secondary cache Node B - regional node= Ehcache as prmiary cache. no Hibernate Node B is used only as near-by cache for query. Now I am updating data (Say SudentInfo) in Node A, it gets persisted and cached correctly. On replication side (I am using JMS) it sends a message to Node B. But the problem is, the message it sends is of instance CacheEntry(deep Inside Element), there is no way to resurrect the original object (StudentInfo). What I got in node B is CacheEntry with some attributes of Students but not actually an Student Object. Please note that I don't need Hibernate session/persistence in Node B, node B is only for fast query, persistence is done through Node A. So has anybody tried any solution like this? Is there any way to convert CacheEntry to actual object? or Tell ehcache to replicate original object rather than CacheEntry. Thanks for the help

    JavaScript's late binding is great. But how do I early bind when I want to? I am using jQuery to add links with event handlers in a loop to a div. The variable 'aTag ' changes in the loop. When I click the links later, all links alert the same message, which is the last value of 'aTag'. How do I bind a different alert message to all links?   • StringLengthValidator - localization not working

    I am validating input to my ASP.NET application using StringLengthValidators, and using the ValidationSummary control to display the error messages. To localize the application, the StringLengthValidators have the MessageTemplateResourceName and MessageTemplateResourceType attributes set. The first time the validator runs, it picks up the correct error message based on the current culture setting. If I change the language setting while running the app, the next time the validator runs, the ValidationSummary it still displays the error message for the old culture. The text for all other controls is being updated correctly. Any ideas, folks?
