  • Why do R objects not print in a function or a "for" loop?

    - by Sal Leggio
    I have an R matrix named ddd. When I enter this, everything works fine: i <- 1 shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) The calls to Shapiro Wilk, Anderson Darling, and stem all work, and extract the same column. If I put this code in a "for" loop, the calls to Shapiro Wilk, and Anderson Darling stop working, while the the stem & leaf call and the print call continue to work. for (y in 7:10) { shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) ad.test(ddd[,y]) stem(ddd[,y]) print(y) } The decimal point is 1 digit(s) to the right of the | 0 | 0 0 | 899999 1 | 0 [1] 7 The same thing happens if I try and write a function. SW & AD do not work. The other calls do. > D <- function (y) { + shapiro.test(ddd[,y]) + ad.test(ddd[,y]) + stem(ddd[,y]) + print(y) } > D(9) The decimal point is at the | 9 | 000 9 | 10 | 00000 [1] 9 Why don't all the calls behave the same way?

  • Why won't EF4 generate a method to support my Function Import?

    - by Deane
    I have a stored proc in my database which returns an integer. I added a Function Import to my model. This appears in the EDMX file: <Function Name="GetTotalEntityCount" Aggregate="false" BuiltIn="false" NiladicFunction="false" IsComposable="false" ParameterTypeSemantics="AllowImplicitConversion" Schema="dbo" /> However, no method actually gets generated for this. It should be top level, right? using (MyContext context = new MyContext()) { context.MyMethodShouldBeRightHere(); } Nothing appears in Intellisense, I've gone through the designer.cs file and there's nothing in there, and reflected the DLL...nothing. The code generator is just not generating any code to support this stored proc. I added another table to my database and updated the model, and that came in, so the model will update, it's just specifically ignoring this stored proc. I've tried everything I can think of, and consulted every resource I can find, and as near as I can tell, I'm doing everything right. I'm using EF4, database-first. (I'm pretty sure on the version, anyway. This shows up in the generated file: Runtime Version:4.0.30319.1 )

  • How can I determine/use $(this) in js callback script

    - by Rabbott
    I am using Rails and jQuery, making an ajax call initiated by clicking a link. I setup my application.js file to look like the one proposed here and it works great. The problem I'm having is how can I use $(this) in my say.. update.js.erb file to represent the link I clicked? I don't want to have to assign an ID to every one, then recompile that id in the callback script.. EDIT To give a simple example of something similar to what I'm trying to do (and much easier to explain): If a user clicks on a link, that deletes that element from a list, the controller would handle the callback, and the callback (which is in question here) would delete the element I clicked on, so in the callback delete.js.erb would just say $(this).fadeOut(); This is why I want to use $(this) so that I dont have to assign an ID to every element (which would be the end of the world, just more verbose markup) application.js jQuery.ajaxSetup({ 'beforeSend': function(xhr) {xhr.setRequestHeader("Accept", "text/javascript,application/javascript,text/html")} }) function _ajax_request(url, data, callback, type, method) { if (jQuery.isFunction(data)) { callback = data; data = {}; } return jQuery.ajax({ type: method, url: url, data: data, success: callback, dataType: type }); } jQuery.extend({ put: function(url, data, callback, type) { return _ajax_request(url, data, callback, type, 'PUT'); }, delete_: function(url, data, callback, type) { return _ajax_request(url, data, callback, type, 'DELETE'); } }); jQuery.fn.submitWithAjax = function() { this.unbind('submit', false); this.submit(function() { $.post(this.action, $(this).serialize(), null, "script"); return false; }) return this; }; // Send data via get if <acronym title="JavaScript">JS</acronym> enabled jQuery.fn.getWithAjax = function() { this.unbind('click', false); this.click(function() { $.get($(this).attr("href"), $(this).serialize(), null, "script"); return false; }) return this; }; // Send data via Post if <acronym title="JavaScript">JS</acronym> enabled jQuery.fn.postWithAjax = function() { this.unbind('click', false); this.click(function() { $.post($(this).attr("href"), $(this).serialize(), null, "script"); return false; }) return this; }; jQuery.fn.putWithAjax = function() { this.unbind('click', false); this.click(function() { $.put($(this).attr("href"), $(this).serialize(), null, "script"); return false; }) return this; }; jQuery.fn.deleteWithAjax = function() { this.removeAttr('onclick'); this.unbind('click', false); this.click(function() { $.delete_($(this).attr("href"), $(this).serialize(), null, "script"); return false; }) return this; }; // This will "ajaxify" the links function ajaxLinks(){ $('.ajaxForm').submitWithAjax(); $('a.get').getWithAjax(); $('a.post').postWithAjax(); $('a.put').putWithAjax(); $('a.delete').deleteWithAjax(); } show.html.erb <%= link_to 'Link Title', article_path(a, :sentiment => Article::Sentiment['Neutral']), :class => 'put' %> The combination of the two things will call update.js.erb in rails, the code in that file is used as the callback of the ajax ($.put in this case) update.js.erb // user feedback $("#notice").html('<%= flash[:notice] %>'); // update the background color $(this OR e.target).attr("color", "red");

  • Should I be using the command pattern? Seems like a lot of work...

    - by Fedor
    My Room class has a lot of methods I used before I decided to use the command pattern. Previously, I was invoking a lot of commands and now it seems I have to make a method in my roomParser class for every method. If I wanted to invoke say, setHotelCode I would have to create a method in roomParser that iterates through and invokes the method. Is this the way I should be using the command pattern? <?php interface Parseable { public function parse( $arr, $dept ); } class Room implements Parseable { protected $_adults; protected $_kids; protected $_startDate; protected $_endDate; protected $_hotelCode; protected $_sessionNs; protected $_minRate; protected $_maxRate; protected $_groupCode; protected $_rateCode; protected $_promoCode; protected $_confCode; protected $_currency = 'USD'; protected $_soapAction; protected $_soapHeaders; protected $_soapServer; protected $_responseXml; protected $_requestXml; public function __construct( $startdate,$enddate,$rooms=1,$adults=2,$kids=0 ) { $this->setNamespace(SESSION_NAME); $this->verifyDates( $startdate, $enddate ); $this->_rooms= $rooms; $this->_adults= $adults; $this->_kids= $kids; $this->setSoapAction(); $this->setRates(); } public function parse( $arr, $dept ) { $this->_price = $arr * $dept * rand(); return $this; } public function setNamespace( $namespace ) { $this->_sessionNs = $namespace; } private function verifyDates( $startdate, $enddate ) {} public function setSoapAction( $str= 'CheckAvailability' ) { $this->_soapAction = $str; } public function setRates( $rates='' ) { } public function setHotelCode($code ) { $this->_hotelCode = $code; } private function getSoapHeader() { return '<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Header> </soap:Header>'; } private function getSoapFooter() { return '</soap:Envelope>'; } private function getSource() { return '<POS> <Source><RequestorId ID="" ID_Context="" /></Source> </POS>'; } function requestXml() { $this->_requestXml = $this->getSoapHeader(); $this->_requestXml .='<soap:Body></soap:Body>'; return $this->_requestXml; } private function setSoapHeaders ($contentLength) { $this->_soapHeaders = array('POST /url HTTP/1.1', 'Host: '.SOAP_HOST, 'Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8', 'Content-Length: '.$contentLength); } } class RoomParser extends SplObjectStorage { public function attach( Parseable $obj ) { parent::attach( $obj ); } public function parseRooms( $arr, $dept ) { for ( $this->rewind(); $this->valid(); $this->next() ) { $ret = $this->current()->parse( $arr, $dept ); echo $ret->getPrice(), PHP_EOL; } } } $arrive = '12/28/2010'; $depart = '01/02/2011'; $rooms = new RoomParser( $arrive, $depart); $rooms->attach( new Room( '12/28/2010', '01/02/2011') ); $rooms->attach( new Room( '12/29/2010', '01/04/2011') ); echo $rooms->count(), ' Rooms', PHP_EOL; Edit: I'm thinking it may be easier if I made the RoomParser less generic by storing properties that all the objects will share. Though I'll probably have to make methods if I want to override for a certain object.

  • Specializing function templates outside class temp. definition - what is the correct way of doing t

    - by LoudNPossiblyRight
    I am attempting to specialize a function template that is a member of a template class. The two of them have different template parameters. The template function specialization inside the temp. class definition is never called and the one func. spec. outside the class definition does not even compile. Should i expect this to work in the first place, and if so, what do i have to change in this code to both compile and make it work correctly: using VS2010 #include<iostream> using namespace std; template <typename T> class klass{ public: template <typename U> void func(const U &u){ cout << "I AM A TEMPLATE FUNC" << endl; } //THIS NEVER GETS CALLED !!! template <> void klass<T>::func(const string &s){ cout << "I AM A STRING SPECIALIST" << endl; } }; //THIS SPECIALIZATION WILL NOT COMPILE !!! template <typename T> template <> void klass<T>::func(const double &s){ cout << "I AM A DOUBLE SPECIALIST" << endl; } int main(){ double d = 3.14159265; klass<int> k; k.func(1234567890); k.func("string"); k.func(3.14159265); return 0; }

  • No "redefinition of default parameter error" for class template member function?

    - by STingRaySC
    Why does the following give no compilation error?: // T.h template<class T> class X { public: void foo(int a = 42); }; // Main.cpp #include "T.h" #include <iostream> template<class T> void X<T>::foo(int a = 13) { std::cout << a << std::endl; } int main() { X<int> x; x.foo(); // prints 42 } It seems as though the 13 is just silently ignored by the compiler. Why is this? The cooky thing is that if the template declaration is in Main.cpp instead of a header file, I do indeed get the default parameter redefinition error. Now I know the compiler will complain about this if it were just an ordinary (non-template) function. What does the standard have to say about default parameters in class template member functions or function templates?

  • Question on passing a pointer to a structure in C to a function?

    - by worlds-apart89
    Below, I wrote a primitive singly linked list in C. Function "addEditNode" MUST receive a pointer by value, which, I am guessing, means we can edit the data of the pointer but can not point it to something else. If I allocate memory using malloc in "addEditNode", when the function returns, can I see the contents of first-next ? Second question is do I have to free first-next or is it only first that I should free? I am running into segmentation faults on Linux. #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> typedef struct list_node list_node_t; struct list_node { int value; list_node_t *next; }; void addEditNode(list_node_t *node) { node->value = 10; node->next = (list_node_t*) malloc(sizeof(list_node_t)); node->next->value = 1; node->next->next = NULL; } int main() { list_node_t *first = (list_node_t*) malloc(sizeof(list_node_t)); first->value = 1; first->next = NULL; addEditNode(first); free(first); return 0; }

  • Javascript function working strangely during the first call in CHROME ?

    - by Sohil
    HI all, Below mentioned javascript code works fine in all browsers including chrome(from second call onwards). function call(val){ url = window.location.href; indexnum = url.lastIndexOf("/"); str = url.slice(indexnum+1); window.location.href = url.replace(str, "sample.php?src_q=") + val; } I am calling this function on onclick of a link as below <?php echo "<a href='#' onclick='javascript:call(\"$fieldvalue\");'>$fieldvalue</a>" ?> Normal Behaviour : In all browser after clicking on the link new formed url is url://localhost/mysite/sample.php?src_q=val Strange Behaviour : When I click on the link for the first time in chrome value of variable val gets replaced by url and its value as follows http://localhost/mysite/sample.php?src_q=http://localhost/mysite/val This strange behaviour happens during the first click in chrome. From the second call onwards in the same tab, the value of variable val works fine and I get desired url. I tried to google on it, but couldn't found any explanation. Thanks in advance.

  • How can one make a 'passthru' function in C++ using macros or metaprogramming?

    - by Ryan
    So I have a series of global functions, say: foo_f1(int a, int b, char *c); foo_f2(int a); foo_f3(char *a); I want to make a C++ wrapper around these, something like: MyFoo::f1(int a, int b, char* c); MyFoo::f2(int a); MyFoo::f3(char* a); There's about 40 functions like this, 35 of them I just want to pass through to the global function, the other 5 I want to do something different with. Ideally the implementation of MyFoo.cpp would be something like: PASSTHRU( f1, (int a, int b, char *c) ); PASSTHRU( f2, (int a) ); MyFoo::f3(char *a) { //do my own thing here } But I'm having trouble figuring out an elegant way to make the above PASSTHRU macro. What I really need is something like the mythical X getArgs() below: MyFoo::f1(int a, int b, char *c) { X args = getArgs(); args++; //skip past implicit this.. ::f1(args); //pass args to global function } But short of dropping into assembly I can't find a good implementation of getArgs().

  • How can I write a function template for all types with a particular type trait?

    - by TC
    Consider the following example: struct Scanner { template <typename T> T get(); }; template <> string Scanner::get() { return string("string"); } template <> int Scanner::get() { return 10; } int main() { Scanner scanner; string s = scanner.get<string>(); int i = scanner.get<int>(); } The Scanner class is used to extract tokens from some source. The above code works fine, but fails when I try to get other integral types like a char or an unsigned int. The code to read these types is exactly the same as the code to read an int. I could just duplicate the code for all other integral types I'd like to read, but I'd rather define one function template for all integral types. I've tried the following: struct Scanner { template <typename T> typename enable_if<boost::is_integral<T>, T>::type get(); }; Which works like a charm, but I am unsure how to get Scanner::get<string>() to function again. So, how can I write code so that I can do scanner.get<string>() and scanner.get<any integral type>() and have a single definition to read all integral types? Update: bonus question: What if I want to accept more than one range of classes based on some traits? For example: how should I approach this problem if I want to have three get functions that accept (i) integral types (ii) floating point types (iii) strings, respectively.

  • How do I get my Windows Forms application to use a custom main function and get access to the Applic

    - by burble
    Hi Folks I am trying to use a Main () function in a class to control the program flow in my vb .net Windows Forms application. I have added a splash screen component and a login screen, and customised my main sdi form. I have set the startup form to be my main function in the Application Page of the Project Designer, and everything seems to work fine(ish). However, I would like to use: Me.MinimumSplashScreenDisplayTime = 5000 to ensure that the splash screen is visible, but it is not recognised by the system unless I tick the Enable Application Framework check box on the Project Designer. If I do this, on startup the program ignores the login and splash screens and all my customisation and just displays a default Form1, even though I have also specified my splash screen in the AF dropdown list. Of course, there are alternative ways to delay a splash screen, such as putting the thread temporarily to sleep (which didn't seem to work), but I suspect that there are other things in the AF that I may want to use. Any suggestions on how I can get round this please, and get a sensible means of controlling program flow? Any thoughts on the best overall structure for organising program flow would also be helpful too. I am concerned both about going down a Microsoft or an alternative custom route that may cause me problems later, as the application becomes more complex. Thankses.

  • SFINAE and detecting if a C++ function object returns void.

    - by Tom Swirly
    I've read the various authorities on this, include Dewhurst and yet haven't managed to get anywhere with this seemingly simple question. What I want to do is to call a C++ function object, (basically, anything you can call, a pure function or a class with ()), and return its value, if that is not void, or "true" otherwise. #include <stdio.h> struct Foo { void operator()() {} }; struct Bar { bool operator()() { return false; } }; Foo foo; Bar bar; bool baz() { return false; } void bang() {} const char* print(bool b) { printf(b ? "true, " : "false, "); } template <typename Functor> bool magicCallFunction(Functor f) { return true; // lots of template magic occurs here... } int main(int argc, char** argv) { print(magicCallFunction(foo)); print(magicCallFunction(bar)); print(magicCallFunction(baz)); print(magicCallFunction(bang)); printf("\n"); }

  • Using the read function to read in a file.

    - by robUK
    Hello, gcc 4.4.1 I am using the read function to read in a wave file. However, when it gets to the read function. Execution seems to stop and freezes. I am wondering if I am doing anything wrong with this. The file size test-short.wave is: 514K. What I am aiming for is to read the file into the memory buffer chunks at a time. Currently I just testing this. Many thanks for any suggestions, #include <stdio.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <errno.h> #include <fcntl.h> #include <string.h> #include <unistd.h> int main(void) { char buff = malloc(10240); int32_t fd = 0; int32_t bytes_read = 0; char *filename = "test-short.wav"; /* open wave file */ if((fd = (open(filename, O_RDWR)) == -1)) { fprintf(stderr, "open [ %s ]\n", strerror(errno)); return 1; } printf("Opened file [ %s ]\n", filename); printf("sizeof(buff) [ %d ]\n", sizeof(buff)); printf("strlen(buff) [ %d ]\n", strlen(buff)); bytes_read = read(fd, buff, sizeof(buff)); printf("Bytes read [ %d ]\n", bytes_read); return 0; }

  • Force calling the derived class implementation within a generic function in C#?

    - by Adam Hardy
    Ok so I'm currently working with a set of classes that I don't have control over in some pretty generic functions using these objects. Instead of writing literally tens of functions that essentially do the same thing for each class I decided to use a generic function instead. Now the classes I'm dealing with are a little weird in that the derived classes share many of the same properties but the base class that they are derived from doesn't. One such property example is .Parent which exists on a huge number of derived classes but not on the base class and it is this property that I need to use. For ease of understanding I've created a small example as follows: class StandardBaseClass {} // These are simulating the SMO objects class StandardDerivedClass : StandardBaseClass { public object Parent { get; set; } } static class Extensions { public static object GetParent(this StandardDerivedClass sdc) { return sdc.Parent; } public static object GetParent(this StandardBaseClass sbc) { throw new NotImplementedException("StandardBaseClass does not contain a property Parent"); } // This is the Generic function I'm trying to write and need the Parent property. public static void DoSomething<T>(T foo) where T : StandardBaseClass { object Parent = ((T)foo).GetParent(); } } In the above example calling DoSomething() will throw the NotImplemented Exception in the base class's implementation of GetParent(), even though I'm forcing the cast to T which is a StandardDerivedClass. This is contrary to other casting behaviour where by downcasting will force the use of the base class's implementation. I see this behaviour as a bug. Has anyone else out there encountered this?

  • load search results into a div that toggles with other divs

    - by Z. Edwards
    I am working with a page that has multiple divs that toggle. This function works. A search function was added and this works too. The problem with the page as it exists currently: The search bar was placed on the "default" div and the results load below the bar into another div that is invisible when empty. The results div is inside this first default div. If you toggle to another div, you lose the default div and can't get back to it. For this reason, I moved the search bar to the left navigation where the other toggle links are situated. I also moved the search results div out of the default div to "stand on its own." What I am trying to do: Make the search button show the div with the results as well as find the results. Basically, to integrate the search function into the array/toggle function. The search function is in one .js file and the toggle function is in a different .js file. I keep thinking there must be a way to get "onclick" to call from both .js files so that I don't have to do a bunch of extra work combining the two functions that already exist and work separately. I am a Javascript newbie learning by examples and haven't been able to figure this out. I have never seen a working example of this and my searches haven't produced one. I would be very grateful for any help. Hope I explained the problem adequately. Edit: Here is the code I already have for the toggle function. var ids=new Array('a','b','c',[and so on--search results not added here yet]); function switchid(id_array){ hideallids(); for( var i=0, limit=id_array.length; i < limit; ++i) showdiv(id_array[i]); } function hideallids(){ for (var i=0;i<ids.length;i++){ hidediv(ids[i]); } } function hidediv(id) { //safe function to hide an element with a specified id if (document.getElementById) { // DOM3 = IE5, NS6 document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'none'; } else { if (document.layers) { // Netscape 4 document.id.display = 'none'; } else { // IE 4 document.all.id.style.display = 'none'; } } } function showdiv(id) {//safe function to show an element with a specified id if (document.getElementById) { // DOM3 = IE5, NS6 document.getElementById(id).style.display = 'block'; } else { if (document.layers) { // Netscape 4 document.id.display = 'block'; } else { // IE 4 document.all.id.style.display = 'block'; } } } function initialize(){ var t = gup("target"); if( t ) { switchid([t]); } } function gup( name ) { name = name.replace(/[\[]/,"\\\[").replace(/[\]]/,"\\\]"); var regexS = "[\\?&]"+name+"=([^&#]*)"; var regex = new RegExp( regexS ); var results = regex.exec( window.location.href ); if( results == null ){ return ""; } else { return results[1]; } } Thanks in advance!

  • How to pass a parameter in a Javascript confirm function?

    - by Miles M.
    I have something like that in my code: <?php foreach($clients as $client): ?> <tr class="tableContent"> <td onclick="location.href='<?php echo site_url('clients/edit/'.$client->id ) ?>'"><?php echo $client->id ?></td> <td><a class='Right btn btn-danger' onClick="ConfirmMessage('client', <?php $client->id ?>,'clients')"> <i class="icon-remove-sign icon-white"></i> </a></td> </tr> <?php endforeach ?> that's actually the view. So when the user click on the delete button (thr one with the btn-danger class) I'd like him to confirm his choice with a javascript confirmation box message. You can find that script in the header <script> function ConfirmMessage(type, id, types) { if (confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this ",type," ?")) { // Clic sur OK document.location.href='<?php echo site_url(); ?>',types,'/delete/',id; } } </script> So here is my question: I would like the $type to be replaced by a paramenter (like client, article, post .. ) that I'll pass to the function. And i would like to get the $client-id parameter as well. I'm bad in javascript and as you already have guess, It is obviously not working at all.

  • In C# should I reuse a function / property parameter to compute cleaner temporary value or create a

    - by Hamish Grubijan
    The example below may not be problematic as is, but it should be enough to illustrate a point. Imagine that there is a lot more work than trimming going on. public string Thingy { set { // I guess we can throw a null reference exception here on null. value = value.Trim(); // Well, imagine that there is so much processing to do this.thingy = value; // That this.thingy = value.Trim() would not fit on one line ... So, if the assignment has to take two lines, then I either have to abusereuse the parameter, or create a temporary variable. I am not a big fan of temporary variables. On the other hand, I am not a fan of convoluted code. I did not include an example where a function is involved, but I am sure you can imagine it. One concern I have is if a function accepted a string and the parameter was "abused", and then someone changed the signature to ref in both places - this ought to mess things up, but ... who would knowingly make such a change if it already worked without a ref? Seems like it is their responsibility in this case. If I mess with the value of value, am I doing something non-trivial under the hood? If you think that both approaches are acceptable, then which do you prefer and why? Thanks.

  • Is there command-line tool to extract typedef, structure, enumeration, variable, function from a C or C++ file?

    I am desiring a command-line tool to extract a definition or declaration (typedef, structure, enumeration, variable, or function) from a C or C++ source file. Also a way to replace an existing definition/declaration would be handy (after transforming the extracted definition by a user-submitted script). Is there such generic tool available, or is some resonably close approximation of such a tool? Scriptability and ability to hook-up with user created scripts or programs is of importance here, although I am academically curious of GUI programs too. Open source solutions for Unix/Linux camp are preferred (although I am curious of Windows and OS X tools too). Primary language interests are C and C++ but more generic solution would be even better (I think we do not need super accurate parsing capabilities for finding, extracting and replacing a definition in a program source file). Sample Use Cases (extra - for the curious mind): Given deeply nested structs and variable (array) initializations of these types, suppose there is a need to change a struct definition by adding or reordering fields or rewriting the variable/array definitions in more readable format without introducing errors resulting from manual labor. This would work by extracting the old initializations, then using a script/program to write the new initializations to replace the old ones. For implementing a code browsing tool - extract a definition. Decorative code generation (e.g. logging function entries / returns). Scripted code structuring (e.g. extract this and that thing and put in different place without change - version control commit comment could document the command to perform this operation to make it evident and verifiable that nothing changed). Note about tags: More accurate tag than code-generation would be code-transformation but it does not exist.

  • How to change a recursive function for count files and catalogues?

    - by user661999
    <?php function scan_dir($dirname) { $file_count = 0 ; $dir_count = 0 ; $dir = opendir($dirname); while (($file = readdir($dir)) !== false) { if($file != "." && $file != "..") { if(is_file($dirname."/".$file)) ++$file_count; if(is_dir($dirname."/".$file)) { ++ $dir_count; scan_dir($dirname."/".$file); } } } closedir($dir); echo "There are $dir_count catalogues and $file_count files.<br>"; } $dirname = "/home/user/path"; scan_dir($dirname); ?> Hello, I have a recursive function for count files and catalogues. It returns result for each catalogue. But I need a common result. How to change the script? It returns : There are 0 catalogues and 3 files. There are 0 catalogues and 1 files. There are 2 catalogues and 14 files. I want: There are 2 catalogues and 18 files.

  • PHP function to handle most database queries has a problem with results. I am getting the right numb

    - by asdasds
    Here is my little function. It does not handle the results correctly. I do get all the rows that I want, but all the rows of the $results array contain the exact same values. So i make 2 arrays, a temporary array to hold the values after each fetch, and another array to hold all the temporary arrays. First i take the temp array and map its keys to the column names. Then i give it to bind_result, and call fetch() and use it like I would any other result value. Could this be because I re-use the $results array? numresults is the number of values you are taking from each row. if 0, you are not getting any results back. function db_query($db, $query, $params = NULL, $numresults = 0) { if($stmt = $db -> prepare($query)) { if($params != NULL) { call_user_func_array(array($stmt, 'bind_param'), $params); } if(!$stmt -> execute()) { //echo 'exec error:',$db->error; return false; } if($numresults > 0) { $results = array(); $tmpresult = array(); $meta = $stmt->result_metadata(); while ($columnName = $meta->fetch_field()) $tmpresult[] = &$results[$columnName->name]; call_user_func_array(array($stmt, 'bind_result'), $tmpresult); $meta->close(); $results = array(); while($stmt -> fetch()) $results[] = $tmpresult; } $stmt -> close(); } else { //echo 'prepare error: ',$db->error; return false; } if($numresults == 0) return true; return $results; }

  • WPF Blurry Images - Bitmap Class

    - by Luke
    I am using the following sample at http://blogs.msdn.com/dwayneneed/archive/2007/10/05/blurry-bitmaps.aspx within VB.NET. The code is shown below. I am having a problem when my application loads the CPU is pegging 50-70%. I have determined that the problem is with the Bitmap class. The OnLayoutUpdated() method is calling the InvalidateVisual() continously. This is because some points are not returning as equal but rather, Point(0.0,-0.5) Can anyone see any bugs within this code or know a better implmentation for pixel snapping a Bitmap image so it is not blurry? p.s. The sample code was in C#, however I believe that it was converted correctly. • Repopulating a collection of Backbone forms with previously submitted data

    - by Brian Wheat
    I am able to post my forms to my database and I have stepped through my back end function to check and see that my Get function is returning the same data I submitted. However I am having trouble understanding how to have this data rendered upon visiting the page again. What am I missing? The intention is to be able to create, read, update, or delete (CRUD) some personal contact data for a variable collection of individuals. //Model var PersonItem = Backbone.Model.extend({ url: "/Application/PersonList", idAttribute: "PersonId", schema: { Title: { type: 'Select', options: function (callback) { $.getJSON("/Application/GetTitles/").done(callback); } }, Salutation: { type: 'Select', options: ['Mr.', 'Mrs.', 'Ms.', 'Dr.'] }, FirstName: 'Text', LastName: 'Text', MiddleName: 'Text', NameSuffix: 'Text', StreetAddress: 'Text', City: 'Text', State: { type: 'Select', options: function (callback) { $.getJSON("/Application/GetStates/").done(callback); } }, ZipCode: 'Text', PhoneNumber: 'Text', DateOfBirth: 'Date', } }); Backbone.Form.setTemplates(template, PersonItem); //Collection var PersonList = Backbone.Collection.extend({ model: PersonItem , url: "/Application/PersonList" }); //Views var PersonItemView = Backbone.Form.extend({ tagName: "li", events: { 'click button.delete': 'remove', 'change input': 'change' }, initialize: function (options) { console.log("ItemView init"); PersonItemView.__super__.initialize.call(this, options); _.bindAll(this, 'render', 'remove'); console.log("ItemView set attr = " + options); }, render: function () { PersonItemView.__super__.render.call(this); $('fieldset', this.el).append("<button class=\"delete\" style=\"float: right;\">Delete</button>"); return this; }, change: function (event) { var target = event.target; console.log('changing ' + target.id + ' from: ' + target.defaultValue + ' to: ' + target.value); }, remove: function () { console.log("delete button pressed"); this.model.destroy({ success: function () { alert('person deleted successfully'); } }); return false; } }); var PersonListView = Backbone.View.extend({ el: $("#application_fieldset"), events: { 'click button#add': 'addPerson', 'click button#save': 'save2db' }, initialize: function () { console.log("PersonListView Constructor"); _.bindAll(this, 'render', 'addPerson', 'appendItem', 'save'); this.collection = new PersonList(); this.collection.bind('add', this.appendItem); //this.collection.fetch(); this.collection.add([new PersonItem()]); console.log("collection length = " + this.collection.length); }, render: function () { var self = this; console.log(this.collection.models); $(this.el).append("<button id='add'>Add Person</button>"); $(this.el).append("<button id='save'>Save</button>"); $(this.el).append("<fieldset><legend>Contact</legend><ul id=\"anchor_list\"></ul>"); _(this.collection.models).each(function (item) { self.appendItem(item); }, this); $(this.el).append("</fieldset>"); }, addPerson: function () { console.log("addPerson clicked"); var item = new PersonItem(); this.collection.add(item); }, appendItem: function (item) { var itemView = new PersonItemView({ model: item }); $('#anchor_list', this.el).append(itemView.render().el); }, save2db: function () { var self = this; console.log("PersonListView save"); _(this.collection.models).each(function (item) { console.log("item = " + item.toJSON()); var cid = item.cid; console.log("item.set"); item.set({ Title: $('#' + cid + '_Title').val(), Salutation: $('#' + cid + '_Salutation').val(), FirstName: $('#' + cid + '_FirstName').val(), LastName: $('#' + cid + '_LastName').val(), MiddleName: $('#' + cid + '_MiddleName').val(), NameSuffix: $('#' + cid + '_NameSuffix').val(), StreetAddress: $('#' + cid + '_StreetAddress').val(), City: $('#' + cid + '_City').val(), State: $('#' + cid + '_State').val(), ZipCode: $('#' + cid + '_ZipCode').val(), PhoneNumber: $('#' + cid + '_PhoneNumber').val(), DateOfBirth: $('#' + cid + '_DateOfBirth').find('input').val() }); if (item.isNew()) { console.log("item.isNew"); self.collection.create(item); } else { console.log("!item.isNew"); item.save(); } }); return false; } }); var personList = new PersonList(); var view = new PersonListView({ collection: personList }); personList.fetch({ success: function () { $("#application_fieldset").append(view.render()); } });

  • plugin instancing

    - by Hailwood
    Hi guys, I am making a jquery tagging plugin. I have an issue that, When there is multiple instances of the plugin on the page, if you click on any <ul> that the plugin has been called on it will put focus on the <input /> in the last <ul> that the plugin has been called on. Why is this any how can I fix it. $.widget("ui.tagit", { // default options options: { tagSource: [], triggerKeys: ['enter', 'space', 'comma', 'tab'], initialTags: [], minLength: 1 }, //private variables _vars: { lastKey: null, element: null, input: null, tags: [] }, _keys: { backspace: 8, enter: 13, space: 32, comma: 44, tab: 9 }, //initialization function _create: function() { var instance = this; //store reference to the ul this._vars.element = this.element; //add class "tagit" for theming this._vars.element.addClass("tagit"); //add any initial tags added through html to the array this._vars.element.children('li').each(function() { instance.options.initialTags.push($(this).text()); }); //add the html input this._vars.element.html('<li class="tagit-new"><input class="tagit-input" type="text" /></li>'); this._vars.input = this._vars.element.find(".tagit-input"); //setup click handler $(this._vars.element).click(function(e) { if (e.target.tagName == 'A') { // Removes a tag when the little 'x' is clicked. $(e.target).parent().remove(); instance._popTag(); } else { instance._vars.input.focus(); } }); //setup autcomplete handler this.options.appendTo = this._vars.element; this.options.source = this.options.tagSource; this.options.select = function(event, ui) { instance._addTag(ui.item.value); return false; } this._vars.input.autocomplete(this.options); //setup keydown handler this._vars.input.keydown(function(e) { var lastLi = instance._vars.element.children(".tagit-choice:last"); if (e.which == instance._keys.backspace) return instance._backspace(lastLi); if (instance._isInitKey(e.which)) { event.preventDefault(); if ($(this).val().length >= instance.options.minLength) instance._addTag($(this).val()); } if (lastLi.hasClass('selected')) lastLi.removeClass('selected'); instance._vars.lastKey = e.which; }); //setup blur handler this._vars.input.blur(function() { instance._addTag($(this).val()); $(this).val(''); }); //define missing trim function for strings String.prototype.trim = function() { return this.replace(/^\s+|\s+$/g, ""); }; this._initialTags(); }, _popTag: function() { return this._vars.tags.pop(); } , _addTag: function(value) { this._vars.input.val(""); value = value.replace(/,+$/, ""); value = value.trim(); if (value == "" || this._exists(value)) return false; var tag = ""; tag = '<li class="tagit-choice">' + value + '<a class="tagit-close">x</a></li>'; $(tag).insertBefore(this._vars.input.parent()); this._vars.input.val(""); this._vars.tags.push(value); } , _exists: function(value) { if (this._vars.tags.length == 0 || $.inArray(value, this._vars.tags) == -1) return false; return true; } , _isInitKey : function(keyCode) { var keyName = ""; for (var key in this._keys) if (this._keys[key] == keyCode) keyName = key if ($.inArray(keyName, this.options.triggerKeys) != -1) return true; return false; } , _backspace: function(li) { if (this._vars.input.val() == "") { // When backspace is pressed, the last tag is deleted. if (this._vars.lastKey == this._keys.backspace) { this._popTag(); li.remove(); this._vars.lastKey = null; } else { li.addClass('selected'); this._vars.lastKey = this._keys.backspace; } } return true; } , _initialTags: function() { if (this.options.initialTags.length != 0) { for (var i in this.options.initialTags) if (!this._exists(this.options.initialTags[i])) this._addTag(this.options.initialTags[i]); } } , tags: function() { return this._vars.tags; } , destroy: function() { $.Widget.prototype.destroy.apply(this, arguments); // default destroy this._vars['tags'] = []; } }) ;
