    Hi , I've defined table with this schema : CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Codings]( [Id] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [ParentId] [int] NULL, [CodeId] [int] NOT NULL, [Title] [nvarchar](50) COLLATE Arabic_CI_AI NOT NULL, CONSTRAINT [PK_Codings] PRIMARY KEY CLUSTERED ( [Id] ASC )WITH (IGNORE_DUP_KEY = OFF) ON [PRIMARY] ) ON [PRIMARY] And fill it up with data like this : Id ParentId CodeId Title ----------- ----------- ----------- ---------- 1 NULL 0 Gender 2 1 1 Male 3 1 2 Female 4 NULL 0 Educational Level 5 4 1 BS 6 4 2 MS 7 4 3 PHD Now , I'm looking for a solution , in order , When i delete a record that is parent ( like Id= 1 or 4 ), It delete all child automatically ( all records that their ParentId is 1 or 4 ) . I supposed i can do it via relation between Id and Parent Id ( and set cascade for delete rule ) , But when i do that in MMS , the Delete Rule or Update Rule in Properties is disabled . My question is , What can i do to accomplish this ? Thank you

  • Difficulty adding widgets to django form.

    I have a django app that tracks activities that can benefit a classroom. Using the django examples, I was able to build a form to enter this data. But when I try to add widgets to that form, things get tricky. What I want is a calendar widget that lets the user enter the 'activity_date' field using a widget. If I use Admin interface. The AdminDateWidget works fine. however. This particular user isn't allowed access to the admin interface so I need a different way to present this widget. Also I couldn't figure out how to make the bring the admin widget over into non-admin pages. So I tried a custom widget. This is the first custom widget I've built, so I'm not quite sure what is supposed to be going on here. Any Expert Advice?   • Transaction issue in java with hibernate - latest entries not pulled from database

    Hi, I'm having what seems to be a transactional issue in my application. I'm using Java 1.6 and Hibernate 3.2.5. My application runs a monthly process where it creates billing entries for a every user in the database based on their monthly activity. These billing entries are then used to create Monthly Bill object. The process is: Get users who have activity in the past month Create the relevant billing entries for each user Get the set of billing entries that we've just created Create a Monthly Bill based on these entries Everything works fine until Step 3 above. The Billing Entries are correctly created (I can see them in the database if I add a breakpoint after the Billing Entry creation method), but they are not pulled out of the database. As a result, an incorrect Monthly Bill is generated. If I run the code again (without clearing out the database), new Billing Entries are created and Step 3 pulls out the entries created in the first run (but not the second run). This, to me, is very confusing.   • How can I write a "user can only access own profile page" type of security check in Play Framework?

    I have a Play framework application that has a model like this: A Company has one and only one User associated with it. I have URLs like http://www.example.com/companies/1234, http://www.example.com/companies/1234/departments, http://www.example.com/companies/1234/departments/employees and so on. The numbers are the company id's, not the user id's. I want that normal users (not admins) should only be able to access their own profile pages, not other people's profile pages. So a user associated with the company with id 1234 should not be able to access the URL http://www.example.com/companies/6789 I tried to accomplish this by overriding Secure.check() and comparing the request parameter "id" to the ID of the company associated with the logged in user. However, this obviously fails if the parameter is called anything else than "id". Does anyone know how this could be accomplished?

    Hey guys i am have an sql table which is basically a statement. Now lest say the records i have in my table have a date and an identity column which is autonumbered and defines the order which the transactions are displayed in the front end to the client. The issue is during an insert some of the data have gone missing and some transactions between two dates are missing. I need to insert the data into the table but i need to insert them between the dates and not at the end of the table.If i do a a normal insert now the data will appear at the end of the table and not at the date i specify because the identity column is autonumbered and cannot be updated.     alright i built this stored procedure to take the columns from a stagging table and copy them into my other table, but if these four columns are duplicates it wont insert the rows, works fine. however, what i want to do is if only the tour, taskname and deptdate are the same, then i will update the rest of the information. and if all four columns are the same dont instert. In the script, I hand over the id from the url and want to evaluate the result: var id = $(document).getUrlParam("id"); var check = PageMethods.CheckSystemDefault(id); if (check == "IsSystemDefault") { ... } if (check == "IsNotSystemDefault") { ... } But as a result, the variable "check" is undefined. What do I have to change?

  • DbMetal chokes on repeated foreign key references in SQLite - any ideas?

    I've been struggling to get DbMetal to process my SQLite database. I finally isolated the problem. It won't allow a table to have two foreign key references to the same column. For example, a SQLite database with these two tables will fail: CREATE TABLE Person ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, Name TEXT NOT NULL ); CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id) ); I get this error: DbMetal: Sequence contains more than one matching element If I get rid of the second foreign key reference, no error occurs. So, this works: CREATE TABLE Match ( Id INTEGER PRIMARY KEY, WinnerPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL REFERENCES Person(Id), LoserPersonId INTEGER NOT NULL ); But I really need both "person" columns to reference the person table. I submitted a bug report for this, but I could use a workaround in the meantime. Any ideas?

    Hi, I have After Insert/Update trigger on Table T1 which get the referential data for Col1 from T2 and does some work and insert it into another table. The col1 is FK to Table T2. When user insert the incorrect or non existing value into the Col1 and if trigger is disabled I am getting constraint error that is fine. But when trigger is enabled and user insert the wrong value in Col1 trigger is getting fired and shows the 'no data found' error message. Actually I am expecting the table to throw constraint error, but trigger is throwing it. Please let me know your comments about this trigger behaviour.

    I am trying to figure out how exactly does treesort from here work (I understand flatten, insert and foldr). I suppose what's being done in treesort is applying insert for each element on the list thus generating a tree and then flattening it. The only problem I can't overcome here is where the list (that is the argument of the function) is hiding (because it is not written anywhere as an argument except for the function type declaration). One more thing: since dot operator is function composition, why is it an error when I change: treesort = flatten . foldr insert Leaf to treesort = flatten( foldr insert Leaf )?

I have always felt that it is faster on the join criteria because it reduces the result set at the soonest possible moment, but I don't know for sure. I'm going to build some tests to see, but I also wanted to get opinions on which would is clearer to read as well.
